Not what they used to be!!! I had 3 pair of 600’s in 12months (2 replacements sent out by Blundstone) not used for hard work either mowing lawns, feeding chooks, fencing. no chemicals, no excessive heat, some moisture like wet grass not drowning. All very reasonable expectations for a “work boots” On all 3 pair the toe lining breaks down into… Read more

a horrid big lump in above your toes. It feels horrible! Blundstone acknowledged this is an issue.

They shouldn’t have “Tasmania Australia” on the pull tags they should have “not made in Australia” it really shows. They’re just not what they used to be.

Blundstone even suggested i should store them inside after use ! I replied what and wash the chicken poo off them every time! Ridiculous one of the pairs broke down through the winter months so it was nothing to do with heat anyway. They’re meant to be work boots.

Anyway after a 12 month email chain and 3 pairs of boots i am trying mongrel k9 boots these are still made in Aus and hopefully have the quality and QA to last more than 3 months.

I really wanted them to work because i grew up wearing them and they’re nostalgic Australian iconic boots. But don’t pain yourself go to another boot straight up.

My husband has bought two years in a row Blundstone work boots non steel caps. The boots are great. However one of the tabs the left hand one comes off every time within a year with still plenty of wear in boots. A perfectly good boot but too difficult to put on foot without tag. No more they are not cheap. We will be getting another brand in future. Show details

*Update* Replacement pair lasted 4 months. Not a great boot. Approximately 6 months of walking around a factory and the soles have worn through and upper is detaching. My $50 BigW Blacksmiths survived longer being regularly submerged, exposed to harsh chemicals and treated 100X worse than my Blundstones. Company approved a replacement pair but… Read more

initially didn't forward the request... Then they sent the wrong size... Here I am nearly 4 weeks later and still no boots.

Also, this company still proudly stamps "Tasmania, Australia" on their boots despite being made in the great Australian State of "checks notes" Vietnam... since ~2007.

Hard to buy Australian with this level of service and quality.

They fit well, that's the only critique I can give in praise. $189 for 4 months of use and started to break apart in the zippers by week 6. The laces de-twine themselves and fray in short order. The zippers twisted and caught and soon entirely de-threaded. When they caught on something the entire upper sole just detached from the boot in the… Read more

middle of work.

For nearly $200, I am more than a little disappointed. This is an unacceptable quality of boot and my literal Kmart Jackaroos cost 1/4th as much and lasted me 5x as long. It's unfathomable to me that a brand designed for trades can disintegrate so quickly for basic back of house retail work. They're completely unwearable. You can't. Zip them up because it catches and detaches and you can't tie them off because the laces have frayed and disintegrated.

Never. Again.

Blundstone Rotoflex do not purchase if you require a sturdy long lasting work boot – I work 19 hours a week or three days per week for a council at their resource recovery centre. The boots were supplied by the council brand new. As in other posts on this page the fabric inside the boot that sits on top of the inner sole has rubbed away on both the heel and the ball of my foot. The fabric inside one of the boots has started to rip… Read more

and the boot offers little ankle support and i have rolled my ankle at times on uneven ground. The soles of the boots also have worn and have cuts in them. For the price and length of time it has taken ( 5 months ) its disgraceful. Do Not Buy. I don't have proof of purchase as the council bought them for me as part of their uniform.

Best Boots – Best boots I have ever owned. I am brutally harsh on them with outdoor work in all weather and all types of terrain and get 2 years out of a pair. What I really love is that when I buy a new pair they fit perfectly and comfortable from day one. No rubbing sores or blisters. Thank you Blundstone.

Was good quality and value but now over priced and poor quality. In short it is easiest to compare these boots to the price range expected for the quality to a pair of cheap Kmart boots. Starting with the sole. The Blundstone boot sole is terrible. They wear out very quickly. About 6 months. Just long enough to avoid warranty claims but not long… Read more

enough to justify about $150 to $250. The sole wears quickly and the material under the outer layer sole begins to crumble and break down. By contrast cheap $50 Kmart boots of similar size shape and appearance wear much more slowly and evenly. The two shoes are of comparable comfort when worn and walking.

Ironically a cheap $10 replacement sole is much better quality.

The insole is no better than any other brand or manufacturer. It would be good to replace it with a more comfortable insole but this is okay as is.

the upper and the sole are not well attached. Not in terms of the stitch work (none is visible) but that the upper leather seems to want to shear away along the line of the sole. This is disappointing quality and work as the blundstone boot should be better built and assembled for the price.

Next we have the upper. The leather of Blundstone boots is real but very thin and soft. Enough so that it mars, marks and scratches with almost no effort or reason. By contrast the cheap Kmart boots are not real leather but they scratch only. The damage is superficial and hidden with nugget where as the Blundstone leather remains obviously damaged. this occurs very early after purchase which is disappointing for the supposed quality.

The gusset is really only superficially useful. It provides some ability to pull the boot open to put them on but it is not needed. The boot is already plenty wide/ long for that. What the gusset should do, pull the boot tight, doesn't happen. It is like some one looked at a boot and copied the design features without knowing why the features were present or what they did.

The reinforced heel counter is not really reinforcement. it seems to be another cosmetic only feature that provides no functional effect. The heel is no more reinforced than any other part of the boot. You can compare the strength of the heel reinforcement to how squishy or soft and without structure the toe of the upper is.

The pullers are a little weak and easily stretch. They work but I strongly expect them to break if used as intended.

The lining is okay but again nothing special. In parts it doesn't exist but in other places such as the heel it is there but not very good. It wears pout very quickly, likely a result of the stiffening not working.

Over all these are boots that cost anywhere between 3x and 5x more than much cheaper boots from Kmart. The only reason I would spend that money is to buy a domestically made boot. I can't afford to buy a domestic made boot when I need to replace them in whole or replace the soles every 6 months or there about while I could buy imported boots for between 33 and 20 percent of the price and keep wearing them for years. More so when the boots are no longer made domestically but assembled. The boots lack durability, ruggedness or comfort to make the greater price worth paying.

Note boots were shined and polished weekly with a boot/ leather conditioner or a beeswax rub followed by boot black nugget to polish once each week.

Loving my first Blundstones - #152 Heritage and #587 Classic – I have recently purchased a pair of Men’s Heritage #152 Black Chelsea Boots and Men’s Classics #587 Rustic Black Chelsea Boots. Thus far I am very pleased with the fit and quality of the boots. Firstly the #152 is a beautiful boot, thick premium leather with stitched sole. This is a large boot so go a size down. I usually take a 11 AU/UK wide but… Read more ·  1

the 10 AU/UK fits me perfectly with a finger width at the toe. My foot is 290mm long. The leather has a natural high quality finish, not a coated finish. The boots are much more my style than R.M. Williams and cost less than 2/3 of the price. The #587 is more true to size, I bought an 11 AU/UK and put a Comfort Arch footbed which makes them firm but perfect. Time will tell how they last but I am sick of hearing all the garbage comments ‘Not made in Australia’. Get over it people, that’s life and it does NOT mean the quality is less. R.M. Williams are the only boot make I know that is truly made in Australia and I would prefer my Blunnie #152s any day.

These are the best things I have literally ever purchased – I was tossing up about getting Blundstones or not. I wanted a pair of really durable boots that would be perfect for travel: great for hikes and walking all day, but still fashionable enough to wear with jeans and even in winter with dresses. But Blundstones are expensive! However, after living in these boots for 6 months they are 100000% worth… Read more

the price. I have the original hi-top boots in black.

After months of daily wear, they still look fantastic. The leather is easy to wipe clean and they are yet to have any noticeable scratches. The only signs of wear are the areas of the shoe that are crinkled because of the way your toes bend as you walk. The sole of the shoe is thick and durable, but they still just look like a really nice pair of chelsea boots. Also, they really are 100% waterproof. I have walked through deep puddles and thick mud and my socks and feet are completely dry afterward.

I wear very thick orthotics in my shoes due to problem feet, and therefore needed boots that would fit these. For those who wear orthotics, we know that this can be a huge struggle. Luckily, Blundstone online customer service team is fantastic and helped me out. I messaged them about the orthotics, sent them my measurements and they let me know exactly which size I should purchase. My orthotics slipped into the blundstones perfectly, and still left me with heaps of room for my feet. If you don't wear orthotics, they come with a normal but removable insole.

A lot of the reviews on this website are very negative, but I do not know why. This is not sponsored in anyway and I barely ever write reviews, but these shoes warrant one. I honestly cannot recommend blundstones enough. I have doc martens too but since I got my blunnies I haven't even put them on. Blundstones are worth the price tag if you know you'll make use of them. I'll definitely be wearing them for the rest of my life.

Boots fell to pieces less than a year after purchase. Retailer was not interested, suggested that they only have a 6 month warranty. Consumer law says otherwise. Have contacted Blundstone directly, will update this review if the issue is resolved, but I'm not confident that will happen. Very disappointing boot they make now, nothing like the old school product. Buy something else more robust like mack boots.

Great boots that are suited to office as well as industrial settings – Have purchased work boots with steel caps since 2015 and I am extremely happy with the product and the service support. The boots present well and are easy to live with. The customer service team in Tasmania are responsive and helpful - unfortunately my preferred boot has been discontinued, but I am using the alternative style which is very similar. Thank you Blundstone. Show details

Do not sell wide fitting sizes – Do not sell wide fitting sizes. They only sell one width size (D) then tell you just buy half a size larger if you have wide feet which is not correct. Only a marketing person with normal width feet would make a comment like that. I already have foot damage caused by wearing shoes that are too narrow after being told things like "Just buy this… Read more

size and they will stretch to fit" and by the time you realise they don't stretch it is too late to return the shoes.

In my case all I want is the option to buy a 2E width size to ensure the boot is comfortable and does not damage my feet.

This is a shame as otherwise they make nice boots. (Though they are not made in Tasmania any more )

Expensive boots that are unwearable after a few months – Got these for the backyard. Only worn them a handful of times and already the "liner" near the toe has warped making the boot basically unwearable. I now get rubbing on the top of my foot/toe area. Wife has the same problem with hers as well. Easily the worst boot I've ever had. Kmart boots are probably better. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Very disappointed with these boots – I have owned many a pair of Blundstones over my time. The most recent pair were purchased in 2019 and have been used for gardening in the back yard. the same fate. I would expect that a quality pair of boots would last longer than this. Also what is the point of having only 6 months warranty? And to claim warranty the hoops one must jump through is nigh impossible and probably a waste of time. I don’t think I will be buying Blundstone boots any more.

Poor quality – I'd been warned by multiple friends that the quality had sold out for a cheaper version. The pull-tab on my very expensive boots broke in under a year. I was offered a replacement tab that a "cobbler" could put on my boot for me. After spending over $200 on a pair of shoes, one would think they would last longer than a year. Now that’s “customer service”! – I bought a pair of Blundstone work boots about 2 years ago from Mitre 10. At $240 they were far and away the most expensive work boots I have ever bought. I am retired and use them for work in the garden and in my shed. In other words I don’t use them that often. Recently, and clearly well outside the 6 month warranty, both zips broke within a… Read more

couple of weeks of the other and were stuck at the top, making the boots difficult to put on. Both zips had missing teeth and clearly were not robust enough.

I wrote to Blundstone for advice and sent some photos of the problem, expecting suggestions for what type of replacement zipper to use and who might do the repair. Frankly, I just wanted them to be aware of the issue and acknowledge the inconvenience.

Without hesitation however they replaced the boots with a new pair! The new boots arrived by Australia Post last week.

Now that’s my definition of OUTSTANDING customer service!

Disintegrating Soles – I bought a pair of Blundstone boots a few years ago. They haven't been worn much, only in the winter months and never as a work boot. When I put them on I noticed them sticking to the floor tiles and luckily I took them off to see what was wrong… Read more

before I went to the shops. The soles were disintegrating with great chunks falling off.

I contacted Blundstone and just got a reply back asking me to return them at my expense with the original receipt as long as they are less than 6 months old. That's why I'm doing this review and it's also the last Blundstone shoes/boots I ever buy.

Reading through the reviews and their site this is a common occurrence which they blame on poor storage which was certainly not the case with mine. My thoughts are that they are using garbage materials that decompose over time and my next pair will be made in Australia by a reputable company that stands by its products and it's customers.
