Can the electricity be turned off during summer, should there be any problem when turned back on for winter?
Hello Janice, I’ve had these furnaces for over 30 years and have always turned the power off in the summer months. Never had a problem when turning power back on.
looking at a cost for replacement part product 4720006 serial 00904545. ignite wont turn on, main electronic board or the display switch board are faulty

Tony, Vulcan wall furnaces were all Australian made and built tough and durable.
I understand from various suppliers and technicians that Bonaire are Chinese with some local sheet metal pressing. Absolute junk!

I have the Pyrox WFBL (4720006) wall furnace, nat gas. The unit has been recently cleaned, dust removed from fan, burners, injectors cleaned, etc. Unit fires & appears to operate as it should. However after approx 15 to 30 mins, the unit shut down. I didn't see any error code & assume it may have shut down due to over temp? I restarted the furnace and noticed that the fan was running on low speed, I adjusted it to high, fan never advanced to full speed, remained on low.
Has anybody had this problem and are you able to supply corrective action to remedy the problem? Any assistance appreciated. Pete.

I installed a pyrox wall heater with power flue model no. 4720020 in March last year. It is located at the front of the houseThe problem is that it does not thermostat and gets too hot in the lounge and needs to be manually turn off which is fair distance frpm the family room located at the back of the house. Can you recommend another wall heater which is compatible with the pyrox but has a thermostat and can be installed with the existing cabling in order to keep the cost to a minimum. Grateful for your advice and also if you would accept the pyrox as a trade in. Also would be grateful for an estimate of cost. Noel
I unplugged my gas heater then plugged back In I now have it beeping every 30 seconds with a triangle with quotation mark in the middle it has never done this before when turned of for a little while can you help me with some solutions kind regards s Gebauer
I hope you didn't buy this heater recently. Unfortunately I cannot help you except to say you should replace the heater as fast as you can. We have been fortunate in having a reverse cycle Rinnai air conditioner installed almost 12 months ago. It has been wonderful in every way. We used it to cool the house through the summer months and then to heat the house throughout autumn and winter so far this year. Before that time we could only heat a quarter of that area using the old gas wall furnace and then, because I was very nervous about the possibility of carbon monoxide while we were asleep, so it wasn't running through the night. For your information we only have one other gas appliance and that is a gas storage unit which is installed externally. Our gas bill was less than half and our electricity bill was almost covered by savings on the gas bill!

Sorry Brian, but we are no longer using the gas heater. I purchased an carbon monoxide alarm from Bunnings which I used for about twelve months. We had the heater seriously serviced by a qualified plumber which gave us a little more confidence (very little) in the heater but we ran it all last winter and it didn't miss many beats. But we decided it was just too risky to continue to use it. If your fan is making a lot of noise then I suggest you have someone qualified to look at it. When our guy pulled the cover the fan looked as though it had never been looked since installation. Once is was cleaned out it ran more quietly. I do not recommend you try to do this yourself. If you are tenants in the property then you Agent can arrange to have your heater inspected. This is important and your landlord is obligated to cover the cost for this. We installed a Rinnai split system reverse cycle aircon and that is a fantastic alternative. The heater works extremely well and the aircon of course is excellent is the extreme days we have during Summer in Melbourne. For your information running the heater 24/7 through the colder months I am happy to say that our electricity bill is only up a little and our gas bill has more than halved. We only have a gas hot water system. So for us it proved to be the best solution. We would never run the gas heater during the night. Good luck. Keith Cameron
My system keeps turning its self off ...for no reason ….no error comes up!
I have a WFBL 4720011 wall furnace. It is good, maybe too good. It is mounted on an internal gyproc wall. The wall in the room on the rear side of the unit is burning hot. When installed a few years ago it was not like this, but the heat generated onto that wall is frightening even on the lowest setting. We are now too scared to leave the heater on when we go to bed. The approved local repairer has looked at it and advised it's hot, it shouldn't do that, but can offer no solution. Has anyone else experienced this?
