Ok so I was happy to get this heat pump dryer. The idea was save money eventually. It worked very well for three years without missing a beat but stopped drying one day suddenly. There was no indication there was an issue with it. It simply kept tossing the clothes around without drying. Since the warranty was 2 years I eventually called the… Read more
repair guy who quoted a hefty $800 ish for the board and sensor. I also own a Bosch Dishwasher as well with home connect and find its been amazing. I thought I should contact Bosch and shot them an email expressing my concern regarding cost of the fix for a 3 year old dryer. Sure enough Jack from Bosch contacted me and after a brief conversation explaining my dissatisfaction with a significant bill especially when its been well looked after( also well known issue about clothes rolling into a tight ball leaving the internal contents wet) he offered to cover the entire cost of the repair. He contacted the repair company and organized a refund of the charges etc. I eventually chose to replace the dryer with a washer/dryer from Bosch as a replacement instead which helps me save space significantly. While this product might have an issue, I have to say the company definitely cares about the customers in my experience. The 5 stars is for the company and not the product of course. Customer care personal like Jack representing the company truly make it a great experience. Will definitely be buying more Bosch products considering the very positive experience.
Disgraceful Product & Service – Bosch Has Gone Downhill Review: Bought the Bosch WTX88MH0AU/01 dryer for over $2,000. It’s failed twice in under a year with the same heating issue. Technician admitted sensor problems and said only the basic Timed Warm cycle works – yet Bosch claimed “no fault found.” I emailed twice on June 26, 2025, and called… Read more
to confirm receipt, specifically asking for management to contact me. No reply. No ownership. No resolution.
Bosch is ignoring customers and refusing to acknowledge repeated faults in a premium product. I’ll be sharing this publicly – Bosch needs to be held accountable.
Awful product - avoid – As per usual when it came time to replace our washer and dryer I researched to find the best available, and came up with Bosch. Previously we had Fisher & Paykel. Washer is great, but the dryer (our first heat pump model) is not. Other reviews here sum the problems up, including: high maintenance, you will be forever cleaning it - and it's not… Read more
easy to clean. Water pooling in the bottom and other places, and a musty smell that is hard to avoid because some parts of it are impossible to reach for cleaning. Apparently this is all by design - if so, what on earth were the Bosch designers thinking?
We've been buying Bosch dishwashers for decades, still the best in my opinion. The washer is good too - but the dryer is awful. I should add it's pretty average at actually drying clothes too, which rubs salt into the wound of paying top dollar for a high-maintenance appliance.
This product is a lemon in my opinion, and we're now actively thinking about how to get rid of it so I can replace it with a Fisher & Paykel, which we know is good. I wish I'd read the reviews on this site first.
Auto Clean? Who came up with that! DO NOT BUY – Dear Bosch, I'm confused, what part of this machine is 'auto clean'? In order to ensure the machine works even remotely well (i.e. actually dry clothes), I have to carefully open the very flimsy plastic flap at the bottom of the machine (just waiting for that to break), then I have to remove, not one, but 2 filters and thoroughly clean them,… Read more
which because they are always sitting in a pool of water is a messy and unpleasant job. One of the filters requires me to flip 4! holding latches in order to release it!
To be very clear - if I want my clothes to be even remotely dry - I have to do this EVERY TIME I use the machine. I live with my elderly mother, and for her this is just too hard a procedure due to bad arthritis - she was fine with our old machine with door mounted filter.
Then of course there is the pool of water always siting at the bottom of the machine, which, like another reviewer, I was told by a service mechanic, was by design. But, if I don't also mop up some of the excess of this pool it will spill out of the machine.
I was also told by the mechanic that because we don't have a window in our laundry that would affect the performance. So, I went to the manual (which I read BEFORE purchase), to find where this is explicitly stated - it is not. Nor is it mentioned on the product page.
Other than that, the build quality is ok I don't notice it being particularly noisy - although I do have the same issue as others have noted about large items balling up.
At the same time as buying this we also bought a matching Bosch washing machine and so far that has been excellent.
After posting this review I am going to attempt to get my money back - but this is Australia and despite strong consumer protection laws, I don't expect much luck!
Does not work at all after 2 yrs – Heat pump worked ok to start with provided you used the timed dry setting for 4.5 hrs, now 2 yes later (normal family use) the dryer does not dry clothes on any setting. Repair man can’t find what is wrong with it. Also the condenser has to be cleaned by a repair man when it fills with lint, you can’t do it yourself. An expensive boat anchor- avoid like the plague Show details
DO NOT BUY THE WORST DRYER DESIGN – BAD BAD DESIGN BOSCH - so much for German engineering. I have owned this dryer for 6 months - so its been tested well and I can tell you it is so awful we have gone back to E&S Trading and they have returned this dryer for a Miele. If you are in Australia this is the place to shop they are AMAZING!! The heat pump isn't the issue for us (although I… Read more
have read it can be a significant issue) it is the design of the lint filter which sits under the condenser. The entire base of my machine is constantly filled with water.......and the third part of the lint filter that needs to be changed sits in the base of the machine under the condenser in that water and the lint removed is a sodden mess (please see images). Not only that the second filter behind the filter at bowl level is also wet and foul. If you read other reviews about this machine you will see that STINKING is one of the issues. I believe this is because people do not realise there are THREE filters to be changed - not just the filter at bowl level. The filters are FULL of lint under the machine and become a hot bed to wet stinking bacteria in the base of the machine which is a health hazard let alone causing the clothes to stink when the dryer is used. I was cleaning out my dryer and emptying the condenser tray after every 3 uses which prevented the smell - but my machine is all slimy in the base AND OMG the mess pulling these filters out (please see images) the lint is like the hair and crap you pull out of a blocked drain...the water goes all over the floor etc. The worst part - when the Bosch technician came to see me he said there was NOTHING that could be done to fix it AND BOSCH KNOW ABOUT THIS FAULT - that he sees machines like this every week - that the model before this one has a different design and doesn't have this fault - and that Bosch have told him its the machine - thats how it is - and after 6 weeks never got back to me to say anything about the machine in response to THEIR TECHNICIANS REPORT (so in other words put up and shut up - and their customer service was WOEFUL) - it was E&S Trading who had to step in and fix this issue by refunding me and replacing my machines. DISGUSTING - BOSCH I REFUSE TO ACCEPT YOUR CRAP DESIGN and I hope anyone who reads this review realises NOT to buy this dryer. Truely the fact that the drying time is long and the clothes don't always dry is NOTHING compared to the health hazard of having wet lint in the bottom of the dryer. CRAPPY CRAPPY DESIGN - I paid $$$$$$$ for acheap poorly designed machine.
