Cooling is ok, but the rest is badly engineered! – I have to fully agree with all the reviews, especially the comments concerning the failing shelves. design makes them easily break when not perfectly moved back in and one tries to close the door. The problem we are now facing is that we can't even get the replacement parts anymore, despite the fridge being functional as far as cooling is concerned. Currently one of the door shelves is broken and the crisper lit. As a German I have to say this is very disappointing given that German appliances are supposed to be reliable and well designed, but in Australia we only seem to get the 2nd grade models. I used to have a Liebherr fridge which worked perfectly for many years and I brought it over from Germany when I immigrated to Australia, but it was too small and we switched to the Bosch. Unfortunately Liebherr fridges are overpriced in Australia, so we will probably go with an LG as our next model, but not with Bosch anymore. We also recently had issues with a brand new, top of the line dishwasher - obviously their engineering is not the greatest anymore.

Disappointed with the product – Shelves are terrible. Fragile and breaks easily. Please ensure shelves are strong enough especially those buckets down. Not even four years old. A fridge should go over ten years and looks like the compressor is gone. Do not know what to do because my wife who purchased it, is not here at the moment. Agree with all reviews – Handles falling off. Can't find a seal that should have lasted longer. Shelves and door trays fragile and broken. companies don't stock parts and have to be ordered in. I was given this fridge and know I know why. I don't think it's worth replacing the door seal as cannot see a good review.  Show details

I suppose even Bosch has succumbed to making inferior fridges – Had to replace the motherboard. That cost a few thousand ZAR. It worked for 6 months then the fridge packed up. Had the fridge re gassed. And since then its never beck e cold. I'm going to dump it. Its not worth it. LG or Samsung, much better. Even Kelvinator would be a better deal. Never trust a Bosch!

Looks Good – A few years old now ! Always noisy, now the freezer still works fine but the fridge no longer chills. The freezer looks big on the outside cannot fit a pizza in it! Meat tray also has limited space because of the bulk head, cannot fit 2 meat trays stacked! Shelves are ok ! Bosch products "I own several " I'm manifestly unhappy with this one.

Rubbish – I bought this fridge second hand. This means I did not invest too much money, but also do not qualify for warranty replacement parts. I have owned a number of second hand fridges, some quite old, and they usually eventually suffer mechanical failure. mechanical failure. Long before the motor dies there will be nowhere left to put any food.

Almost all of the internal fittings on my fridge have now cracked. These are being kept in use where possible until they fail completely. At this stage I have lost a door shelf (so I can no longer store tall bottles), a full internal shelf and the cover for the bottom veggie crisper. The big top drawer is cracked and close to failure. The small middle drawer is cracked but hanging in there for now. The fridge no longer stores enough food for my family of four.

I understand that I bought a second hand product. But it was from a deceased estate (a genuine litle old lady) and I have treated it well. Given the engineering failure in this fridge, I will never buy a Bosch product again, new or second hand.

On this plus side, it is very cold. But this does not make up for the broken fittings and the odd noises that it constantly makes.

Leaks and flimsy build quality – Leaks water on to the floor Shelves are flimsy and break easily Makes cracking sounds during defrost cycle Finally, yesterday, door hinge broke --> off to the dump where you belong. - Will now buy a Samsung (or similar) - This has put me off the Bosch brand foreever

Useless – Very noisy, leaks constantly. Both IceCube trays and freezer shelf broke first, followed by every shelf in the fridge and the cheese door. Very very poor!

Upright coffin...couldn't agree more – We thought our Bosch fridge would last more than three years. Then we thought it would only need a once off minor repair so had a serviceman fix it. Unfortunately this became a regular occurrence that was very costly as we also had to replace the food every time. I think Bosch should be sending some kind of credit to all who purchased this "intelligent" fridge

This is a fridge that I could have done without – Firstly, the freezer froze they came to fix it so that all my meat had to be thrown out. So much for the stainless steel door I have never known S/S rusts

We call our Bosch Fridge the "leper"! – Wish I had read these reveiw 5 years ago. We call our Fridge the leper because about every 6 month another bit on the inside fall off. the glaciation effects in the first year once I pulled apart the drainage pipe at the back of the freezer that was continually blocking up. Now as long as a get that comforting whoooooooo every time I shut the freezer door I know it is not going to freeze up... however she still lets out a loud bang every now and then to remind us of the not so good times It fits in the space we had and nice shiny door really. Would not say it was inexpensive Realy poor design and materials - lack of testing by the manufacturer is clearly the problem with this one

what does bosch intend to do about this? good name and reputation everything - comparatively expensive, noisy, leaky, tripped my electricity circuits (night and day)

Unintelligent German design, shoddy Chinese workmanship – Like everyone else we bought expecting German quality. Instead - we found the fridge continually ices up - sounds like there is a huge glacier inside with cracking ice. buy a second small fridge to take the stuff. On top of this - faulty light switch shorted out the whole house, was the devil to find. Flimsy shelving breaks - the cheese drawer is particularly weak.

In 45 years I have never had a bad fridge and this is the one. All style, no substance. Looks good, like the nifty temperature controls Ices up constantly. Flimsy shelving.

compartments have simply decayed and broken?!?!?!

You would think that an herd of elephants were using our fridge at night while we slept and secretly destroying it. Our other fridge (the old Admiral) downstairs is still in premium condition and will soon celebrate it's 24th birthday.

Bosch fridge is limping into year 5 with nowhere to hold food and looking for a ride to the refuse dump.

Our advice to anyone looking for a fridge is AVOID THIS FRIDGE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!

Poorly constructed with poor materials

5 years now, at first was disappointed with internal size but hey I'd bought it so had to adapt. Started leaking after 2 years, two services since have only relieved the problem temporarily. Bosch claims the drainage pipe must be blocked but both service guys found nothing but ice. I've had to defrost this frost-free fridge 3 times myself.

Terrible – Do not buy a Bosch refrigerator. Poor design and lack of interest from manufacturers point to the fact that these people really make drills and other tools - not kitchen appliances. Have to defrost manually every three months. Poor design means the drainhole freezes over. Complaints to Bosch about noise (cracking, whirring and other strange sounds) resulted in "Oh, they always do that".

Terrible – Terrible - avoid at all costs. Bosch fridge is a nightmare! It makes loud cracking sounds, groans and leaks since new. Once warranty expired, Bosch were lethargic at best. good space and design A disaster of a fridge - avoid at all costs. Has leaked incessantly. Bosch service lethargic at best. Clearly do not know how to design fridges - it is NOT frost free - the back of the unit chocks up with ice and it melts running from within under the vegetable tray to the lip and then pools on the floor - dripping every time you open the door.

Good – doors of the fridge were dented when it arrive but service arranged new doors. ice maker clunks a bit it is noisy overall comapred to last westinghouse looks good noiser the our last fridge
