3rd review.....purchased 2013 – Hi folks.....this is my third review on this mixer if you look through you will see my previous 2 in 2013!. Sadly I believe this mixer is no longer available (discontinued) so I don't know what good a new review is to be honest I guess if some one thinks of selling there's?. Anyway....after nearly 5 years of continuous use it still love my… Read more

machine and have never had an issue.....yes the pizza dough does ride up the hooks but I am used to that by now.....and you have to physically hold on the grinder and blender.....would get 5 stars if it wasn't for those small issues.

This machine has way out lasted my expectations and is still working like the day I purchased it.....i have nothing negative to say at all as I'm sure improvements have been made to the latest models....

Q BOSCO back in 2013 you told me that an icecream bowl was coming and I have never seen it.....i cant find anything online about it either?

Also I can't find the pasta maker attachment you talk about to another customer? With the item been discontinued I do so hope that we can still buy spare parts and attachments??.

thank you bosco :)

No replacement accessories – I bought the multi mixer. The dough hooks broke after the third batch of pizza dough. They were fitted correctly but became jammed and one snapped. Contacted Bosco for replacement hooks. After a few weeks and a few emails I was told by [name removed] that they finally located one set of dough hooks in the warehouse. After a lot more emails and… Read more

Mostly happy with my machine – I bought my AS1200HD more than 3 years ago and have had a few problems, but I was very happy with customer service who paid for the machine to be sent back to them repaired and then sent back to me at no charge at all. I have recently had a part on my blender attachment break and got a replacement part for just cost of the shipping. I have just… Read more

had to order a new silicon beater attachment as mine has disintegrated.

The few things I'm not happy about with the machine is that wetter doughs creep up the dough hooks and gets stuck where the dough hooks are attached and it's a pain to clean it up. Also one of the little pins that the attachment hooks on to has come loose and I have had to crawl around on the floor searching for it after I have forgotten to take out of the slot before turning the blender etc on.

Some of the parts are not dishwasher safe ( like the silicon beater) and that is a pain in the backside.

Overall I'm happy with the machine but it does get annoying with the little things after awhile.

Love my Bosco, wont be buying anything else – Looking for an alternative to a kitchen aid mixer as the newer ones have too many faults. At the time I could only find rave reviews on the Bosco so I waited for a great sale & I am glad I did. While it does not look as smart it far outweighs any mixers ability I have used & was half the price. It is heavy & well built so I keep it on the counter.… Read more

This also means I use the free accessories with it more like the glass blender & mincer. My husband LOVES the dough hooks for his pizza bases which is not something I would have thought we needed. I would have paid hundreds of dollars for these with other companies. Love the programs as I tend to walk away while cooking. I am keen to purchase some other accessories such as the paster maker that works with it. Had a delivery problem (Australia posts fault) so had to deal with the service team & they were outstanding help. Speaking to them directly meant the issue was sorted straight away & I could get cooking instead of waiting for months like some after sales service teams.

Waste of good money – My machine has broken down 6 times, buttons stuck, couldn't regulate auto or manual speed. Every time very polite to begin with but always seem to put it back on me. For example: When blender would not work and just kept spinning I was told it was from over use, it was the second time I used it. When I couldn't regulate the speed and a… Read more

dough hook broke they said it was because I started to fast!

This last time same problem with the speed and one of the spindles just fell off. This time they said it was "because they had information I was using it for commercial purposes" this came from [name removed] the owner, good one, I'm on a disability pension and have had spinal surgery twice and open heart surgery in the last two years.

My electrician advised me 4 repairs ago that it was a fault in the machine and I needed to request a new on, it wasn't going away. Did tell them that but no all these electrical problems due to my misuse!!!!! Got the same machine back every time.

I too am going to Fair Trading as they have refused a refund and I really can't see the point of going through this again, surely it is obvious even to them so I can only suggest by this response from the very arrogant manager that they would rather save themselves the money rather than have happy customers.

Every time I rang they said they'd never had this happen before but with a bit of research there are plenty that have complaints with this company. Buyer beware!

2 Years on still going strong – I wrote an earlier review after 6 months and am happy to report the machine still makes approx 6 loaves a week for our household. It was put thru its paces again at easter time and made the 200 easter buns easily. Yep, its still very noisy and sounds like a tank, and the dough crawls up but considering what I paid for it I got my moneys worth! I'm hoping it will last me for years.

Not good at all – I purchased the mixer 3 years ago. I had the 1st warranty claim after 12 month. Now I used it for about 20 times for bread making. The mixer just stopped in the middle of it. Great Machine, worht the money – I have had this machine for some years now, it is built to last and is very sturdy, YES it is heavy and I think that only adds to its value. Not a Kitchen Aid – I've had 2 kitchen aids (moving overseas twice made me have to give them up twice sadly) I was pulled to the Bosco Multi-function Mixer because all the attachments come with it and it's much more affordable than Kitchen Aid. I am extremely pleased with customer service. But it doesn't compare to a Kitchen Aid and neither does the price.

I love my Multifunction Stand Mixer and I love the BOSCO customer service – I seriously don't know how I got by without my Mulitfunction Stand Mixer, I use it for everything, pancakes, cakes, pasta, sausages, juice..... quick an easy to use - and clean! :D We have had two slight issues with our order, but BOSCO resolved them in next to no time and with no drama. A great machine that needs a few tweaks – I have had a Bosco mixer for maybe 2 years now. The after sales service is fantastic and they are happy to take the machine back, at your own cost, to fix it up at no cost. I have found it to works really well and mixes heavy doughs. There are a few things that concern me. These are 1. Grey 'colouring' comes off the beaters when you touch them. … Read more

This obviously goes into the cake mix and I wonder if it is adverse on my family's health. 2. Above the beaters there seems to be fine metal? filings that also fall into the mixture, and 3. You cannot say make biscuit crumbs in the blender as it needs liquid in it. I tried to make biscuit crumbs and the machine started to smoke.

If these things could be rectified I would happily give it 5 stars.

I love my Bosco – I've had my Bosco mixer for a year - it was a Christmas gift from my son and husband in 2013. I use it constantly. Fantastic strong machine – I have had this machine for over 12 months now and it has done some WORK!!! I have made double pizza dough recipes at once. though has been making my fondant!!! (This is a sure way to kill a weaker machine, I know and I have lol). This baby however does it without faulting and sounds like it could handle more, so I am never worried I may have shortened it's life.

Love the look and over all design of it and it looks great sitting out in the branch top!!

Only design thing I would improve on is the bowl cover part. It has a hole for adding ingredients while mixer (which is good) however when I am adding stuff from a cup measure I feel it could be handy to have a funnel type hole instead of a flat as you can't pour into it without hitting the mixer. Easy to work around this issue with spooning it in but hey this is a review and my option on improvements.

Overall for the look, design, and practicality of this machine are wonderful!!!

Then you come to the PRICE!! It's a true bargain.

I spent a lot of time comparing these types of machines and for ones this strong you are looking at $1000 upwards!!!

The company has been fantastic with there service both online and on the phone and seem proud of what they sell

I highly recommend them to EVERYONE that comes to my house or eats what this machine produces.

FANTASTIC PRODUCT!!!!!

Great value as far as I can see – I ended up purchasing this mixer after reading reviews here and elsewhere recommending it, even though I'd never heard of the brand before. I was a little astonished at the size - about double… Read more

the size of a Sunbeam bench mixer. i guess that's the "price" of a much more powerful machine. I found the instructions clear and easy and tried it the first afternoon on a yeast bread mix that it handled well. I have subsequently used it for several jobs and have just purchased meat to try out the mincer. I'm impressed by the service and I'm impressed by the "value for money" of this machine - it does what it is meant to.

Exceptional service, great machine, few changes would be good- update: not happy at all in hindsight – I recently bought this stand mixer and I'm now at the stage of using and testing all the gadgets that came with it. So far, I made two observations that I'd like to share. Firstly, so far, I couldn't be happier with the customer service. Before committing to buy, I asked heaps of questions which had been answered patiently. Based on the answers I… Read more

decided on buying this machine. I was so happy when I received a delivery from Bosco only a few days later. But when I unpacked it, I was incredibly disappointed as it was the wrong machine. I checked my order (which I should have done earlier) and saw that, apparently, I had hit the wrong button when ordering! I panicked a bit because I thought that I'd now be stuck with the wrong machine or a hefty postage to return this machine and get the correct one and called them. They were incredibly helpful and friendly and took back the wrong machine with no hassle. They even sent me a return slip so I didn't have to pay for the postage. Soon after that I got the desired model. I think I couldn't have asked for more help in this case and really think that Bosco's service was exceptional.

Secondly, a comment about the machine itself. I didn't have the chance to do a lot with it yet but so far, I made two things: One was a yeast dough which was so much better than when I used to knead by hand. It was very smooth and evenly textured and raised perfectly. The other was the base for lime ice cream with the whisk attachment. This machine whisks perfectly and I ended up with an ice cream with a beautiful texture. The only downside that I'd really like to see changed is the bowl cover. The ice cream recipe involved having to pour hot lime syrup into the bowl while it was running. I tried to pour the syrup in through the chute. Unfortunately, the chute is far too small and far too close to the head of the mixer to do this, so there wasn't even a chance pouring anything in there. Then, because it is impossible to remove the bowl cover without stopping the machine, I stopped the machine, removed the whisk attachment, removed the bowl cover put the whisker back and started again. Sadly, it was still impossible to pour in all the hot syrup without spilling most of it as the head of the stand mixer is just too close to the edge of the mixing bowl. Therefore, I strongly suggest to design a different bowl cover with a wider shoot that sticks out to the side a fair bit. If it also was possible to attach and detach that cover without having to remove the whisker/beater/kneader it would be even better. I'd be the first to buy such a more practical bowl cover!

Update:

Unfortunately, 18 months later I'm not so happy anymore. I used most of the attachments and most of them aren't doing a very good job or are completely useless, so I ended up using the machine for making bread dough or for beating egg whites when I needed very large amounts. Very rarely, I used it for making cake dough. So, don't waste your money on any attachments - they are simply not worth it.

In hindsight, the biggest downside of this machine, apart from the useless attachments is that you can't use it to mix small or normal amounts of anything. I always had to make at least double amounts of dough, to make the machine work properly, as otherwise it doesn't really reach the mixture.

As I could only mostly use it for making bread dough I used my Bosco about one a week to once a fortnight for about 18 months. Then, all of a sudden, the speed couldn't be regulated anymore. It now always runs on full speed, no matter what. I immediately contacted Bosco and asked for help. A week later, they still didn't get back to me with anything more than a confirmation of my request. When I tried to send them another email to ask when I could expect a reply, I got an automated response that my account doesn't exist anymore. WTH? I ask for help because the machine broke down after 18 months and instead of getting help, my account gets deleted? I then tried to call them, but only got to an answering machine that told me to use their website. This again can't be used, as the captcha key thing isn't working. I now have no way left than contacting them via snail mail.

In short:

- too expensive for what you get if you buy the machine with all the extras

- no customer service at all after having a problem with the machine

- any way of online or phone contact doesn't work at all.

I wouldn't buy anything from them anymore!

Good Quality, Reasonably Priced – Bought the AS1200HD after waiting for at least 2 years. Been whipping up cake mixes and doughs with ease. Love this appliance and it is sleek enough on my kitchen bench matching with the rest of the decor. Buyer beware! Mine got super noisy and the company ignored my requests for a refund – The AS1200HD seems like a great deal until something goes wrong. In my case, it was already noisy and just got noisier. It got to the point where I couldn't stand to be anywhere near it on anything but the slowest speeds, it was just so loud. company and they didn't quite believe it and asked for a video. I made one and send it off. They then asked for the mixer back to investigate. So I sent it back. After not hearing from them for almost a month I contacted them to find out what was going on. They responded saying it was in the queue for a service that day. After waiting another week for an update and still not receiving any news I requested a refund. They responded saying that it was out of warranty but they could service it. Given the lack of any real attempt to service it so far and due to our consumer laws saying that even outside of warranty I'm entitled to a refund, I again requested a refund. From that point on the company never responded to another email. I'm now taking them to VCAT to get my money back. What I have learnt from all this is... Avoid this company at all costs! Go for a brand that actually provides real service and doesn't leave their customers out in the cold. I'm only giving it one star as it sort of worked initially, and this site doesn't allow zero stars. Definitely NOT recommended. Cheap price Incredibly loud and smelly (ozone smell). Apalling customer service... Buyer beware!

Great value for money large mixer – Was given this mixer for my birthday this year, so it's had over 6 months of use now. blender works well, and I'm glad it's made from a thick glass rather than plastic. The large motor means that the mincing attachment doesn't struggle if you "over-stuff" it a bit too much and the dough hooks work much better than on any other mixer I've had. Adding in a silicone paddle beater was a great idea as well, as the original one just doesn't do the job.

I'd also like to point out how much help the staff at Bosco were when my parents ordered this machine. Because it was ordered last minute and my parents wanted to give it to me whilst they were visiting, they arranged for a staff member to deliver the mixer to my parents house on a weekend, which was fantastic of them - my parents were very grateful.

There are two complaints I have. The first is that the mincer, even though it was cleaned, dried and oiled straight after being used showed signs of rust after 1 use. The second is that I really really really wish the accessories were dishwasher-proof. This shows that for all that the machine and the accessories are very well designed, for the sake of cost the quality of materials used in the metal accessories aren't as high as they could be. I'd be happy to pay a higher price for additional mixing bowls and attachments that are made out of a high grade stainless steel rather than aluminium. Customer service, mixer quality rusting attachments, non-dishwasher safe accessories.

the merrier. I was thinking about KitchenAid because they seem to have a mincer attachment. But the reviews weren't that good, apparently the mincer was plastic and wouldn't last long. Plus the price was not friendly. I went to the shops and saw Kenwood, which also comes with a free mincer attachment, but the price was $799. Yes the other mixers look a bit nicer and smaller and neater than this one but practically this mixer would be more worthy the money. I didn't want to spend a lot of money to buy a mixer that can't do much work or cant do work properly but just to look nice.

The online staff was very helpful indeed, nice and informative. I didnt want the themomat instead i asked for an extra mixing bowl. The online person promised it would definitely be sent to me together with the mixer, but unfortunately it didn't come. I was disappointed to be honest because i reminded them so many times. So i had to contact them again to get them send the extra bowl. The good thing is that they respond fast and the bowl arrived the next day.

So far I have tried the dough, the mincer, the mini grinder, the blender. The dough hooks look interesting and they do a lovely job. The blender was all right and the mincer was handy. But I had a bit problem with the mini grinder. On their website they say the mini grinder can be used to process fruit and veggies, and is good for making baby food. So I tried to use it to make some apple puree for my baby. But it wouldn't work until I add quite some water, it came out more like juice than puree. I asked the online staff again and they said it was a dry grinder. Well then why did you say it was good for making baby food? And why fruit and veggies? Its a bit confusing.

Overall the machine seems strong, steady and good value. I guess other brands may have problems too. So i would still recommend this one. multifunction, strong, steady, good dough making, large amount of ingredient confusing mini grinder
