Hi My Bowin SLE was serviced today, they cleaned the filters and corrosion somewhere. It now switches off after a few minutes with a flashing orange light and right light on the right. What should I do?

Try changing the batteries on your remote.

Thank you sir. I changed the batteries and sanded the controller battery holders. The remote now works :) The heater continues to turn off after about 30 minutes, I have a feeling there is something wrong with the air/gas ratio, but the air filters are fine and the gas incoming is fine. Not sure what else to point to now

Are you trying to light it through the remote ?...if so you may need new battery. If not find the nearest heater service centre and have it serviced.

My control panel door spring popped off when I was cleaning the unit, and I can't seem to align the door properly when trying to put it back. Left side of lid seems a bit forward, and raised up when open it, and spring touch mechanism not working smoothly. Any suggestions or diagrams of how to properly put the spring back together with the lid so it operated smoothly?

Hi Nessie, this is not a big a problem as you think, unless something has broken and fallen inside the unit it would be ideal if you look at a manual on the net as to how the lid is positioned for perfect functionality...failing that I would possibly recommend taking the unit to a heater technician, they may be able to do the job for you. I would like to be of more help but this is the best I can do for you.

Hi Bev I would say your best bet would be eBay or Vinnies or lifeline, they all have a bin for remotes, you can also try the tip buy back stores. I wish I could her you more accurately. Regards Guido

Filter light on our Bowen heater activates and turns heater off.. is there a filter inside the unit that should be cleaned? If there is an internal filter, how do we get to it. We regularly clean the vent at back of unit. Thank you

Hi peter The only filter I clean is at the back, every season I clean and put it back... check your batteries on your remote , turn off the unit and go through the procedure. Regards Guido

I replaced the batteries, and have cleaned the external metal screen. There was very little dirt or build up. Unit is still only running for about five minutes before cutting out.

Hi There Jenny If you look up any LPG or Natural Gas Heater service centre, they should be able to help you. If not contact me again and I will show you or discuss with you what I do each season to have the Bowen perform at peak efficiency. Regrds Guido

Thanku so much Guido. It's been soooo many years since it was last serviced. It runs like a dream. But just to be sure it's not leaking etc. I will keep in touch. Last time I rang Bowin in N.S.W. they said they don't have servicemen in Victoria anymore and "just run it tills it dies". Which I was doing. Till I thought, no that's dangerous. Time to ask around. Take care Jenny

Our heater keeps turning off. The gas is flowing fine. If we unplug the cord and replug it will ignite and startup for about 30 seconds then green light flashes and no heat comes out.Any ideas?

The Treatment Room at Sh
The Treatment Room at Sh

OK has the gas been checked to see if there is enough? Turn off at the wall and plug it back in,it should re set? Check your batteries in the remote. when you re plug it use the on button and push the remote button on the heater.

Are you using the remote? or doing it manually?

If all these points still do not work you may have to get a Technician or take it to a Heater service centre..

Hope I've been of some help.

Regards

Guido

I've had mine for some time now, and I service it yearly myself.

Our remote doesn't work, even after new batteries.

Can I get a replacement remote control unit for our Bowin SLE?

The Treatment Room at Sh
The Treatment Room at Sh

Hi Allan It would be advisable to check your battery connections for corrosion, the batteries last for a long time and remain idle for months., do this check and see how you go. You can use a lady’s nail file ( not the metal ones) the softer version.be gentle.

Allam
Allam

Our remote control battery connections were corroded, so we used a nail file as recommended to clean them. This got the remote working. But the heater wouldn't trigger the gas ignite. We located a Bowin Service man (Tom) who came a located the problem (mother board) , then quickly fixed and then tested the heater. A very pleasant and competent man. New exactly what he was doing. We highly recommend him. The heater is now like new.

Anyone have a fault code list for these bowins? i have a VLE 25 but any bowin code list will do as the bastard keeps faulting and they may be the same codes, stops randomly sometimes after hours sometimes only after minutes after starting, flashes 2 times then nothing for 3-4 seconds then flashes 2 times and so on, serviced unit, everything clean, fan runs smoothly, no visible damage on PCB, lights up fine

Does anyone have a remote control I could buy? My heater works just fine but the remote is broken.

Anyone know where I can get my Bowin SLE2 services in Fremantle or Perth area? prefer them to come to us, and any idea what I should expect to pay for a service?

Hi

In the area where I live we can take our heaters to be serviced. I’m sure that you would have one as well.

Can a Bowin SLE 2 be connected to our mains gas bayonette?

The Treatment Room at Sh
The Treatment Room at Sh

Hi

A check on the back of the unit will let you know if it’s a Natural Gas or LPGas. The bayonet fittings may vary for both gases... I would advise you to check with your local plumber.
