Great Iron – Great iron which can be used to quickly iron shirts. The iron feels heavy at first, but the glide which is provided by the high quality sole plate makes the ironing quick and easy. Very happy with this product. Show details
Died at 2years old – Very disappointed to have to buy a new iron after only 2 years. It was great while it worked- heated up quickly, no water leakage once hot, auto shut off and textile protector was great on delicate and black fabric. But 2 years (almost to the day) it started smoking after about 1hr of ironing and now won't heat up when I turn it on. I won't be buying another Braun iron. Show details
In-depth reviews
Happy with this Iron – Bought the Braun TS 765A (Not the TP which is discontinued according to this site). Got it at a discount price plus the cashback offer brings it to a very good iron at a great price of $79. Has a 400ml water reservoir which is more than many irons. Great variable steam function - I've never had to use the full steam setting - half way gives plenty… Read more
of steam. Glides over all fabrics well. Not too heavy at around 1.25kg. Several other equivalent brands are much heavier. Cord length 2.5m - not as long as my old iron which was 3m, but adequate for my needs. Like that you have a dial to alter the temperature setting, not like the ones that are supposed to self adjust the temperature to the fabric. I like to be able to adjust both steam and temp. to get just the right mix for a cetain fabric, and not have the iron do it for me. One slightly annoying thing for me is the cord is situated below the handle (really a lever as the handle is not attached at the rear end) on a ball joint. The cord rotates into one of two positions in the ball joint - left side or right side of handle which you have to move yourself as it sometimes sits in the wrong position when I am ironing. This slight inconvenience may be just due to the ironing position I have my board in, in relation to where the cord is plugged in. As much as I hate ironing, this iron at least makes the chore relatively easy.
Great iron which glides oh so well! – This iron heats up quickly and glides very nicely. It also feels well balanced when in use. Others have mentioned that it leaks. I have also experienced that on two occasions but persevered and have worked out I had not set it properly. I have thoroughly read the instruction book and it seems ambiguous with information, perhaps something lost in… Read more
translation? I find the ideal setting for use is to have the temperature dial on at least two dots and the steam regulator set on 2 or 3. When it was being used with the temperature dial at the “min” setting or less than 2 dots, it dumped a huge amount of water from the sole plate onto the item being ironed. The book contains no instructions on settings for using the iron in dry mode, which is probably what the “min” setting on the dial is for. It does mention when using the vario steam setting that the temperature selector has a minimum temperature level of 2 dots, confusing when the dial also has a “min” setting! Perhaps instructions need to be clearer, that is, when using this iron with water, only set the dial to 2 dots or higher otherwise it WILL dump water, and lots of it! Other than that after getting the settings sorted, it is a great iron to use and far better than the Sunbeam ones I had used for many years which kept leaking water from the filler spout as the small clip on the edge of the lid was very flimsy and would break off, not allowing the lid to close properly and leak water. I bought this iron at the after Christmas sales and really like it.
It does what so many other irons fail to do ... it makes the job of ironing clothes a total breeze! – The 'Saphir' sole plate glides over clothes effortlessly. Combined with numerous stream holes and strong steam-pressure means this iron performs brilliantly. I am very particular with my work shirts and abandoned my range-topping Sunbeam after general disappointment with its poor performance and inability to remove creases. Cleaning the… Read more
Sunbeam's innards made no difference. The Braun's performance is inspired and actually makes ironing quicker. It takes out creases so easily and, yes, the large capacity tank does require re-filling, but that simply means the iron has successfully converted the last tank of water into steam!
This model comes with an extra click-on plate that allows you to iron more delicate fabrics at high-temp with steam without damaging them. Great idea! The iron heats up very quickly, is easy to fill with tap water and has a three-way auto-off safety feature.
I owned a Braun years ago (it lasted more than 10-years). This model carries over some of the features, which means they are tried and tested and I'm sure mean the iron will last for years and years. Well done Braun!
Myer has a deal running that mean the $169 was reduced by 15%, so this model was effectively the same price as the next model down (which I would have bought, but for this offer!) :)))

If you have to iron this is the one ! – Nobody likes ironing but if you need to this is the one to get. It is ergonomically design for ease of use and works equally well on a range of materials. I particularly like the generous steam that the iron produces and the great range of temperature settings. Show details
irons clothes quite well – Bought this iron reluctantly, to replace a Sunbeam Ultura that we had for around 15 years, so sad, as it was the best iron that we had ever owned. This new Braun iron was a Choice recommended one, about the 3rd one on the Choice list, and for the price, it does what it is supposed to do. Our budget was around $120, and after looking around, it was… Read more
the best that was on offer for what we wanted to pay. It was one of the lighter irons on the current market. The only negative is that your hand/fingers can sometimes knock the temp control that is under the handle, so not really the best design. Very efficient with water use, compared to our old Sunbeam. While it glides OK, it is not as good as our previous iron. The auto switch off is good for safety.
Excellent All-round Steam Iron – This is a great Iron, works perfectly form soft silks to stubborn cottons. The iron heats up fast and the steam is strong and consistent. There are a few negatives: - The dial is poorly placed - it's easy for the fingers when gripping the iron to accidentally knock it and alter the heat settings without knowing. - if you don't "anticalc"… Read more
frequently, the iron can shockingly go into 'cleaning' mode spontaneously, putting all the calcium and gunk all over your item.
- The iron can get a little noisy, sounding like a boiling kettle.
But overall, it's a great iron in gliding all the wrinkles out of every garment no matter the material.

Very good, but did not last as long as expected – I have been very happy with this iron but it has recently stopped heating. Had it lasted longer I'd have given it 5 stars. It lasted 3 years and 2 months. I believe the warranty was 12 months, but for $145 I thought I would get maybe 5 years with it. It has been well looked after and still looks like new. I took it to my local wonderful Repair… Read more
Cafe (check these out on the web for one near you) as it was out of warranty so had nothing to lose. Long story short, it needed a replacement part but sadly these are no longer available. Now it will go to landfill, like many other items that are irreparable these days. I'll probably replace the iron with a Tefal or Phillips, and will be looking for a longer warranty period.
Braun sent out a returned and used FACTORY SECOND instead of new and unopened – As the company sent out a Factory Second instead of what they advertised as Clearance Stock (new and unopened with very minor box damage) I can't say much as to it's performance. But what I can say is that the iron we received (clearly a return showing signs of use) that it already has fraying on the cord and the Saphir plate has scratches… Read more
(advertised as the toughest in their range). I can see why someone returned it and I will also be returning it and not purchasing Braun again.
Sleek and clean – Perfect purchase loved how light it was also love the sleek look it has to it and this item is super funtional irons my clothes to perfection and recommend this product to all my family and my friends who are asking about a great iron Braun is definatly a favourite for me Show details

2yrs of everyday ironing and still working as new – This iron puts all previous irons including the last 4 top of the range Tefal irons to absolute shame. The sapphire sole plate still looks brand new and glides exactly the same. The iron doesn't leak while ironing at all, although patience is needed till iron has fully heated otherwise it will leak. Heavy noisey but a dream of an iron – This is a great iron heats up quick has a great steam system. I did notice that when I turned it down it leaked where the steam had not release out of the bottom. It is heavy but presses well. Used it on a couple of linen shirts and perfect. Would buy again. Superb Iron – This is the Lexus of irons! The silkiness of the gliding motion over fabric is a thing to behold and i have never used an iron quite as good.It has a quality feel in the hand and some nifty features such as auto shut off. I am really happy about this because I have left the iron on all day more than once. Its a great iron Show details
Makes ironing a breeze – The Braun hears up quixkly within a few seconds. I turn the iron on, get my clothing and it's ready. It glides over my items with ease and wieght and it seems to take less time to iron. It's a good shape and the steam options cut through the wrinkles. The iron will turn itself off if you forget to. The best Iron I ever had – I have bought this Iron after my previous Philips Iron died and I am more than impressed. This heats up quickly, it is really easy to use temperature control and that turns accurate. The Ironing becomes so easy. We maintain the iron regularly as per instruction provided in the manual. Simply the best iron! – I have never liked ironing in my life ubtil I bought this one ! Its so easy to iron anything with this iron . It heats up quicklu , the tepreture control is easy to use and it has an Auto shut off which makes it extra safe . The weight is alright , its not a heavy iron and certainly not a light weigh one either . Show details
Replaced a Philips Azur - this one is better – This does what it says on the tin - irons things. Does a great job, heats up quickly, maintains the heat, and the best result on my cotton shirts. No issues whatever with the water leaks etc - I wonder if other posters are following the simple turn on / turn off sticker that came with it? And they've paid the $30 cash back as well which is a bonus. Show details
Do Not Buy - Leaks Water and will soak your clothes – I suggest you don't buy this iron. As others have noted, there seems to be a design flaw with this iron. Something inside fails and allows water to leak out (a lot of water) after a certain amount of usage. I will be returning it to David Jones for a refund. Show details
Horrible, leaking water badly, ruined one of my favorite dresses – I thought I had made a wise decision by choosing the iron that got best reviews. I was wrong. The iron started leaking water since day 1, and ruined one of my favorite dresses that cost more than the price of the iron ( left permanent watermarks all over it). Returned it to Bing Lee and got a replacement. The new one still leaks waters badly. What a nightmare! Don't waste your money and time on this brand! Show details
Best Iron I have ever had – I have changed iron a few times and bought different brands, the latest one is Braun - TS 765ATP Texstyle 7 Steam Iron. I bought this after searching and googling about what iron is best to buy. I have used it for just over a year now and I am very happy with the purchase, easy to use, easy to maintain, smooth ironing and always gives perfect… Read more
result. Good steam andcontrol knob to suit your fabric, never burnt clothes. Also it is reasonably priced. Highly recommend
Good quality – I went from an 12 year old basic & solid Kambrook no steam, to my new Braun TS765ATP. This iron is light years better, I now find ironing a pleasure, yes really! It has ample steam, heats up so fast & a great temp range. I also like the stand-by mode, it flashes when the iron is left idle for several minutes. My only criticism is the… Read more

Very pleased! – I have purchased today a Braun TexStyle 7 Series iron TS765ATP to replace my old faithful Sunbeam Ultura5650 Platinum which was about 12 years old. My old Sunbeam had fallen off the ironing board twice over the years & was being held together by cord, but was becoming too dangerous electrically & not heating up properly. iron, my new Braun is fantastic! It heats up quicker, glides effortlessly over the clothes & with the soleplate being 1.5cms wider than my old iron, has a greater coverage. It is also a very balanced iron to use. The only negative is that it's much noisier than my old one, but I can live with that.
Best Iron we've had – Our Phillips iron had cracked and was spitting water onto the clothes leaving marks on them so it was time for a replacement. After reading the reviews on this site I brought the TS765ATP from DJ Wellington (30% off) and we are so glad we did. It was still quite pricey with the discount but the iron is outstanding. It is a little heavier than… Read more
our old one but the steam function is amazing. It chuffs along like a steam engine and gives excellent results on silk, linen, cotton, wool and delicates. The textile protector is great for my husbands uniform which can get shiny with constant ironing. It heats quickly and never drips. Would highly recommend.
Best iron ever! – We bought this iron 4 months ago as our old Phillips died. This is a bit larger and has a large reservoir which means less refills but huge amount of steam. Comes with at attachment for high quality fabric. Has auto shut down for both standing up and lying down. Best iron we have ever used! Show details
Great iron – Heats up very quickly, large water chamber, sturdy design. Handy separate cover plate which is great to use on delicate fabrics. The iron has a safety switch off and flashes a red light if you've left the chord plugged into the electricity socket. I would buy this iron again and think it's great Show details
Braun-rude and tricky/Good guys irresponsible – I got Braun Texstyle 7 series when it was having a 30$ cash back offer, they didn't write with the offer any cut-off date for the registering of the claim and very rudely (on the phone) told me that it was Good Guys responsibility and sorry we cannot help you.... very very angry with Braun who didn't make sure that their customer does benefit from the offer and spoke rudely with me.
So happy with this purchase – Bought this iron on the back of the reviews I read on this site. Best steam iron I've ever owned, it will definitely cut down my ironing time. The fact that it holds so much water is a bonus as I won't be constantly having to fill it. Very happy customer. And my iron does not leak water. If it did I would take it back to place of purchase. Excellent Iron – I purchased this iron to replace the Russell Hobbs Smooth IQ Pro that I had for less than a year, that was extremely unsatisfactory. I wanted an iron that would deliver a steady high level of steam, with a sole plate that would not retain a residue from high temperature ironing of cotton business shirts. This iron delivers on these and all… Read more

I have used for the last month and have been nothing short of extremely happy with the performance of the iron.
Thoroughly recommend if you want a high quality iron, with a great sole plate for smooth efficient ironing.
Very happy – A little weighty but ok. Steam is so great my glasses fog up!! Hence frequent refill would be required if you have a lot of ironing. I Found nothing negative as yet & almost look forward to this task. Many thanks & helpful to all 'reviews' & this web site. Show details
Best iron I've owned to date – I have had this iron for nearly a year now. I have not had any water leakage issues mentioned in other reviews. The only time water has leaked through the sole plate is when the steam setting is on minimum, and only for a few seconds. It is quite noisy and steamy at the maximum steam setting, but I find I usually only use the middle setting 3/6.… Read more
The fabric protector accessory that clips onto the sole plate is indispensable, I use it all the time. This allows you to use maximum heat and steam settings without damaging fabric, but more importantly it stops those nasty shiny marks on cotton pants when you iron over the pockets. It does feel a little grippy and less slippery than the irons own sole plate, but it is worth the extra effort for the improved appearance of your clothes.
Good Iron. But – A good iron which does what it supposed to do. But it started to drip water while ironing and while standing on iron board from week one. Returned back and got a new one. Seems ok at the moment. I Like the clothes protector accessory and strong steam action. But little noisy while ironing with steam compared to my old phillips iron. Show details · 1
Maybe I got A DUD – At First, it was great, until when the water kept leaking out of while standing on the ironing board, still ironed OK, however, had to keep filling up with water, the ironing board was saturated where the iron sits, then today little heat, even on maximum setting, am returning item Show details
Returned it after using it just once – I bought this iron based on the numerous glowing reviews on this website. Paid $140 at JB Hi Fi. Pros: 1. It seems very well built, with no tacky plasticky bits like some of the other brands. 2. It comes with a clip on fabric protector for ironing delicate fabrics. This actually works well and is not a gimmick. Cons: It turns out that the… Read more
previous negative reviewers were right - the iron does not get hot enough even on the max heat and max steam setting to iron cotton business shirts.
I though that perhaps they were being a little unfair and went ahead and bought it anyway. It really does not get hot enough. I think they key difference between this and say the Philips is that the Philips has a 'linen' setting which is actually hotter than 'cottin'- whereas the Braun stops at cotton.
Would I buy it again?
No. In fact I returned mine after one use and purchased a cheaper Philips Iron which does the job even better.
The iron of my dreams – This iron performs perfectly. It has a wide range of heat and steam settings and a click-on extra plate to protect delicate fabrics from damage. The iron plate is slightly bigger than I have been used to in the past, but the main thing about it is the number of steam holes compared with other conventional steam irons. Steam is crucial to easy,… Read more
quick, perfect results and Braun have solved this issue. There are options of how much steam you want to use from none to precision intense bursts. It also has a water spray function. The water reservoir is accordingly a little bigger than many other irons, but even so, be prepared to fill it up frequently if you are using the maximum steam setting. This is a a small price to pay for the excellent ironing results you get using plenty of steam. Other things I like are the automatic cut-off and the extra long chord. It is by far the best iron I have ever owned and it's worth every dollar.
