Breville The Baker's Oven BBM100 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: BBM100 and BBM100WHT3 Important Questions: Can you make a good Spelt Flour Loaf with this Breadmaker? Do you have a Recipe for Spelt Bread? Does this model strictly favour Set Recipes you have in your book?
I have never made spelt bread.however- Bread is pretty forgiving when making and you need to experiment your own recipe (substitutions)to achieve a loaf that suits you.I(I substitute with rye and wholemeal)with success. The machine does not make the bread the recipe and your own sense does that. This machine kneads and proves perfectly. Practice makes perfect
Thank you Lyn, for caring to be helpful. I had a Compact Sunbeam years ago that worked well with the Lauke Breadmix, but when I bought their Bakehouse Compact a year ago and attempted to use Healthier Nutritional Spelt and Khorasan Flours, it really didn't like them. I had some fabulous thick Crispy Tasty Crusts a few times, 2 German Textured Loaves that were tasty, I tried to reproduce, and a few bricks instead.
A family member mentioned some time ago, she made some nice Rye Sourdough Bread with a Breville but is somewhat preoccupied with health concerns these days and did not say anymore.
Later in the evening I found 4-5 Spelt Bread Recipes on a UK Site called Food.Com that was interesting - it was obvious that different Breadmakers are handling Spelt Mixes. Only one Model was mentioned - a Panasonic SD255, I could not find on Amazon Australia. They're usually pretty good. My Son says that Breville is a Very Good Company who make excellent products (he has a few).
Has anyone tried Spelt Bread in this Model? Maybe Quinoa and Oat Flour? Spelt Flour is available from Coles and Woolworths now, and 12.5kg bags from Laucke now it's in demand. I really favor the Grain Flours I've mentioned, since I have researched them extensively. Ancient Grains are becoming Very Popular in recent times. They are so Tasty and Nutritious. Partly because they are not laden with chemicals. Besides, we can make our own Specialty Loaves if the Breadmakers are friendly enough, that would be very expensive. Time and skills do not permit, for me to make the real Artisan Loaves by hand.
Thanks again Lyn, I need a little confidence after my Sunbeam efforts. Happy Baking!
Hi. I'm wondering if this bread.tin is the same dime sions of.breville.gourmet.baker over for which I can't find a replacement tin.the dimensions I need are 18cm x 20.7xmx 14.5cm Thanks
My new Breville Baker's Oven BBM100 goes through the cycles of mixing, kneading, punching and rising, but does not bake!?! I've tested the procedure several times with the same result: uncooked dough. Is there a particular reason for this and what can I do to resolve this problem? Regards, Carlos
I've heard the Customer Service at Breville is very good. Any reason for not answering this man? Sunbeam gave me a quick response on my Compact Bakehouse BM2500 when my review wasn't flattering. Read the Review.
Hi I received my Breville BBM100 yesterday I did not have any bread improver. Is there anything else I can use. I read to substitute the water to orange juice This was not good due to tasted a bit orange and it was gluggy in taste (could taste some dough) Thankyou for any help
Does anyone have a good gluten free recipe that doesn’t need so many different flours?
How mush power does the BBM100 USE TO MAKE 1 BREAD?
Don't have a clue. I think a better question would be how does the bread turn out.
I have a brand new Bakers oven, and it doesn’t do the bake just stays raw dough. I have tried the basic and have to then put in the oven.
Like other users, my loaf hits the roof. Can anyone give me a good recipe from multi grain?
I use the prepackaged bread mixes and have found that you have to measure your water accurately. One pack said xx amount of water and I didn't read the next pack and used that amount and my loaves were hitting the roof of the bread maker too. The amount of water was different in the next pack that I bought so I now read the pack and measure the water precisely and they don't hit the roof anymore :)
What is the difference between Breville bread makers BBM100 and BBM 100WHT
I have just bought a BBM100 but cannot find a dough paddle in the box. Are we supposed to buy this seperately? Thank you Heather
It should come with a single flat paddle to mix the dough. They are actually only quite small. This is a standard part and used with for all bread parts. If yours is missing I suggest you take it back to where you bought it from and ask for either a paddle, or a replacement machine.
Could someone please tell me how much this machine weighs? We are full time in the caravan and weight is always a consideration. Many thanks.
Around 1 kg. But have to use both the hands to lift it.
I am having trouble with sourdough bread in BBM100. It would not rise properly and the top collapsed in the middle. I tried increasing the yeast measurement to 4.5mls in line with the recipe on the Laucke packet instead of the one in the manual. The loss rose nicely to the top of the tin but the top collapsed again. What am I doing wrong? Tony
What is the bread pan made of? Has it a teflon type coating on it?
What setting for low FODMAP flour
I forgot to change the loaf size. it is currently cooking for a 1250 loaf but i am making a 750 loaf. how do i change it?
The paddle won’t come off shaft. Any tips on how to remove it? Also when pan is placed in base of oven should the paddle be able to turn a full circle or just halfway and back again? Thank you.
Where do u purchase the mix or is it all homemade ingredients...lol no greenthumb but I don't want green bread either
Coles, Woolies, Aldi etc
Beville bakers oven - punch down? Does the machine do this or do you physically have toopen the li and puch down the bread
Can you tell me the diameter of the spindle on which the mixing paddle is placed?
Why does the paddle stick in the loaf when cooked
Remove the dough ball at exactly 1.50, remove the paddle, reshape the dough ball and replace. Voila, no hole!
