Product: Breville Food Processor BFP800 / A Question: My large bowl/jug for my BGP800 has had a small piece broken underneath that locks it into place on the motor part of the machine and allows it to work.

Can you buy replacement bowl/jugs? Or does anyone know if BFP660 bowl fit on the BFP800? I have found a second hand one online but don’t want to buy it if it isn’t compatible. Thanks

Hi Phil I'd try Breville first. They may still have in stock or they will refer to an appliance service. Good luck Maria

My lid was put into the dishwasher and now has water inside it. How can I get this water out, please?

Mortishia

Hi Carmen I’ve never placed in a dishwasher, but had an instance of water being caught in the rubber rim. I simply used paper towels to follow rim and allowed to air dry overnight

Hi my brother used my ikon kitchen Wizz it’s about 12 years old and maybe he didn’t set it up in the correct order the centre shaft/ spindle is now jammed in a higher position. He tried to push it lower and it is still too high but now totally stuck. Any idea on how to remove the spindle/shaft or get it back into place? Thank you very much.

Mortishia

Unfortunately no solution as is a good product though.

Nick M.

I just fixed this problem. The spindle slides onto another shaft, it needs to be oriented correctly when putting it on and it will just drop to the correct height - if it is not and it is pushed down it will lock at a higher spot. To fix you need to pull hard upward and the spindle will come off (it took me a number of very hard goes at this). Then simply drop the spindle back on, if it doesn't drop all the way down just spin it a little. Worked for me.

Dude wish you had have answered earlier because I already threw it away. I appreciate your time and effort so much though. Bummed that I didn’t keep trying.

Can I use it to chop parsle?

Mortishia
Mortishia

Hi Jad, in chopping parsley, the appliance will do. It’s best when making pesto though as the bowl in itself is large. If chopping a lot of parsley it’s worth the time as this will give an even chop. For a small quantity you won’t receive the same results.

My Breville wizz BP 800 has just stopped working. No lights on. Any suggestions as this is about 5 years old was working a couple of hours ago.

Mortishia
Mortishia

Hi Annette, uncertain here. I know if the unit heats up, it does shut down. This initially happened to me in the beginning. If it hasn’t started again since your last use, it appears it may need a service. Unfortunately, this will be a decision upon you if you go ahead and have it serviced or look into a replacement. I’m apologetic if this is negative news but it may also be a minute issue. Stay safe Maria

Hi my Breville sous vide pro is brilliant but am having a lot of trouble removing the blade/s and the middle swivel for the grating plates. Is there a trick to it? Maria

Mortishia
Mortishia

Hi Maria, hmm.. this is unusual. When using the grating plates, all that should be in use is the connector where blades are set upon. Seems as though it has set in, have you tried removing main blade by twisting in reverse? Sometimes this may help release. Also, but gently, try tapping the blade nozzle a few times to release the tightness. This may take a few goes. Cheers, Maria

I am having difficulty closing and removing the lid. The rubber seal is correctly installed (I think), and seems to be in ok condition - it still has to be stretched to be removed and replaced. Do you have any suggestions?

Mortishia
Mortishia

Hello Mike, not certain, but have you tried rubbing peanut/coconut oil around the rubber seal? Try rubbing on then twisting on/off motion. This may release and reseal. I’d say try a few times, this may soften the seal. Hope this helps Regards Maria

The chopp8ng blade is getting caught with food even making biscuit crumbs

Mortishia
Mortishia

Hi Jenny, not sure what the issue may be, but is the spool firmly locked in? When trying to biscuit crumb, I have always broken the biscuit then evenly distribute into the bowl, did have an episode when I didn’t breakdown and even the amount around, it too caught in one area as the blade caught onto the biscuit. Other than these few suggestions I’d recommend to contact the manufacturer, could be the blade has become dull too.

Thanks-tried the usual but maybe it is time for updating as it is an original model. One more try!!!

how to take standby light off

Mortishia
Mortishia

Hi Jean, I don’t think you can turn of the standby light. This to my understanding has been an indication the unit is connected to the mains. You can only turn of if main power outlet to unit is of. The standby indicator is a notification the unit is powered on.

I have a BFP650 but have lost the shaft, the part seems unavailable, can I use a shaft fro the BFP800 (which looks available for order).

Mortishia
Mortishia

Hi Keir. I’m not 100% certain, but the new bfp800 dies have a different setting. I don’t think the attachments will fit over the new design. Though stylish, they appear to lock within each other. Appears the new attachments all lock within another and rod is designed shorter for this purpose. Have you got in contact with Breville? They may have odd spares around or question whether new attachments may fit the 650 model. Inquire about attachments package too. Hope I helped.

Keir
Keir

Thanks, I appreciate the response. I haven’t been able to find a spare part for the 650B (somehow I lost mine), everywhere appears sold out. The rest of the unit is intact so would be a shame to throw it away.

My bfp650 is having a problem .The grating disks are hitting the base of the food insert tube

Mortishia
Mortishia

Hello, the only solution I may have, is that you may have not installed the thin tube where the attachments rest on. This keeps the blade to the top level. Hope this was of aide.

What thin tube my spindle does not detatch at any section.

Hi. I have a new breville kitchen whiz. I've used it a few times. Today the screen is flashing "insert pusher" and wont start mixing. The pusher is in place with round pusher inserted too but it doesn't seem to be registering the pusher in place. I've turned on & off, taken lid off and pusher put and put back together but no luck.

Super wiz hasn't been used for years, power on, not working?

Pip
Pip

I had that happen to my last Kitchen Wizz but it was an Icon - power went on but it didn't do anything. The authorised repairer said it would cost me $50 for them to just have a look at what was wrong. I thought this was too much so I ditched it. Still buying the Breville Kitchen Wizzes - just the cheaper kinds, not the Icon. They're just not built to last any more.

Thank you, I cleaned all the finer parts, and bingo! It's working!

My Breville whizz is on standby mode and won’t work, how can i fix this?

Mortishia
Mortishia

It will go into standby mode if it reaches a certain internal heat. This is designed not to burn the motor. Unfortunately you need patience and wait. It really doesn’t take long.

Hi. I am considering to buy Breville kitchen wizz 11 plus. Just curious if it can make smooth paste(fried onion, coconut, ginger garlic) - for my curry gravy? Thanks.

Mortishia
Mortishia

Hi BSK, I can’t see an issue with mixture. I do suggest using the smaller chopper for this. I crumb cereal crisps for crumbing and it chops finely.

Hope I assisted.

Hello BSK, The Breville Wizz 11 is far more sophisticated than the machine I have and in fact it should be more suitable for your curry mixture as they now have different size bowls for small or large mixtures. I am sure this latest machine will be suitable for your requirements and of coarse it has a multitude of other functions to help you.

Regarding your curry mixture, I would recommend adding all or part of the liquid first to minimize the caking of dry ingredients.

Hi, using the Sous-chef 12 with the mini brown and mini blade, the lid won't close. It appears that the blade spindle is about a quarter inch too tall. Any ideas?

Quills
Quills

Martin The Sou Chef 12 unlike the BFP650 has adjustable attachments on the underside which in itself seems a good idea. I have taken a look on You Tube to see a Sou Chef 12 in action and it appears to have two sizes of mixing bowl. I suppose the mini blade is used in the smaller bowl.

As you say the spindle is too tall is there another spindle for the smaller bowl.

Failing this please check this web link external link

Scroll to the bottom of the page and they ask for questions and state they have the answers.

I hope this is of some help.

Best wishes,

Quills

Hello Martin, I too have followed Quills response. Unfortunately for ant electrical product nowadays, everything is online. The Sou Chef 12 differs to the Breville BFP650. There are always steps to follow on You Tube. Saying this may seem rude, but I too have purchased items that don’t come its instructions, sure they may supply sme recipes yet no instructions. Thanks to Quill for searching for you. Hope I too have been of some positive assistance.

Sorry, posted in the wrong category. Turns out there are two sizes of mini blade depending on the size of the processor (12 or 16 cups). But both use the same size mini bowl.

For those who have found the lid won't close because the spindle is too high, I had the same problem. I had used the food processor heaps of times and suddenly I couldn't close the lid. BUT ... There is a rubber (plastic) band around the inside of the lid. It had slipped to another position and slotted in there perfectly so I didn't notice it, but it made it impossible to close the lid. If you push the band back where it should be the problem is solved.

My machine BFP650 is stuck on standby and won’t work. Any help?

Quills
Quills

Anne, sorry to hear you are having some difficulty with your BFP650. I am not sure why the machine will not move out of standby, it seems an electrical issue. Might be worth having it checked out, it could be something simple like a jammed contact. Sorry I could not be of more help.

The two discs (fine and course) are supposed to work on both sides depending on slicing or shredding. But it is impossible to use one of the sides because the spindle-thingy in the centre of the disc only works in one direction. Have others had this problem too? Can we get replacement discs for free? We bought the processor in 2010, but clearly the design was faulty right from brand new.

Hi, I just purchased the Breville Kitchen Wizz 11 BFP660 and I've just tried to use it and the power/off button keeps flashing when it is on. It also sounds like the quad blade is not in properly. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, could someone please get back to me?

Cheers, Sam

Received the same as a christmas present and the on/off light is flashing. Trying the machine out without any food in it. There is no indication in the manual as to what happens to this button during operation. All parts seem to be working properly.
