This juicer can join the other ones on the footpath – This juicer produces very juicy pulp, which means I have about a quarter less juice in the jug compared to my previous juicer. At times the last part of the veggies get stuck between the chute and the filter basket, the juicer starts to dance over the kitchen bench because the motor goes wild and smelly, which leaves an unpleasant aftertaste in your mouth. Also, whole chunks end up in the pulp container, no juice extracted. Parts of the pulp escape upwards through the food pusher, and juice seeps through the sides of the pulp container, both resulting in frequent extra wiping of kitchen cupboards and bench. I regularly noticed this juicer sitting in the street and wondered why, I now have understood the reason and I am ready to do the same. Luckily I did not pay the $ 250 sale price at David Jones, but a lot less at Breville warehouse. I have never been more dissatisfied with any electrical equipment and question the professionalism of the technicians/designers/businessmen who put this product on the market. I recommend it to be removed from sales as it is not doing what it is meant to do, extract the liquid from fruit and vegetables and provide a healthy drink.

Excellent juicer, solid performer – I bought one from the Good Guys for $167. Easy to assemble, dead simple controls of high, low or off. The switch is an old school toggle type, a satisfying clunk when switching on or off. Consider it will last a very long time. Low speed is meeting soft fruit juicing needs, harder stuff like carrots and apples juice easily. High speed really gets things going, I have a feeling you get the most juice from high speed although I have little to back this up.
Once high speed winds up, the noise can be a bit high especially if you're an early riser as the house will know what you're doing. Its not jet engine levels but that juicing basket really does move and generate a bit of noise. Personally I dont have a problem with it. All part of the theatre.
In that case, low speed works fine for the likely breakfast juice types.
Although a general juicing caveat and not directly this units tendency, be prepared for using volume to get decent juice amounts. Nine or ten big oranges for a full mug, several carrots, several apples and a palm sized chunk of ginger to generate enough juice for one big serve or two moderate. If you intend to juice regularly, stock up.
The feed chute does a great job of containing product dropped into it, as they bounce and splash on the spinning juicer baskets shredder teeth. Keep the feed plunger near and you wont have a clean up issue, some product does splash.
Doesnt seem to do loose or leafy product well unless you juice it with other product. Having said that, the amount of juice from leaf material is obviously going to be less, again the volume idea.
Rubber sucker feet on the engine casing make it a certain fit on the bench top. Will not move. There is a metal U-shaped loop connected to the base that swings over and clips over the juicing housing, holding it secure. There is a safety switch built in, cant turn the unit on unless that loop is in place.
Cleaning is as simple as rinsing, a brush is provided to scrub the basket and is a perfect cleaning tool. Re-assembly is simple as the parts fit together like Lego, there are no threads to screw onto or pins to replace, it just all fits together.
Excellent product, very happy with the purchase.

A faulty and expensive product – A friend gave me this juicer a week ago. He had it at home and never used it. The first time I used it juicing carrots and beetroot and it was okay. Today I juiced carrots and by the sixth kilo it started sticking, let off a burning smell and seized up. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you bought cheap then you could justify the weakness however my friend paid full price for junk. Show details

Great and stylish – I'm super happy with the juicer and also happy that Big W was able to price match the good guys so I got this juicer way cheaper then retail and didn't have to drive miles to get to the good guys. It looks really nice on my bench top. It's not as loud as I read on other comments and not as loud as the compact breville the juice store uses, plus I… Read more
prefer the pulp coming out into a seperate container so I can use it for other recipes or just throw it in my salads. The kids love it as I never buy store juices far too much rubbish in those. The way the kids get their veggies as well as fruit everyday. Plus I don't need to take iron pills as I can do a super charged juice to substitute those. It's very easy to clean, hot soapy water or even running it under hot water will do if you need to do different juices quickly. The mesh filter is the only thing that requires more cleaning attention with the brush provided but again no big deal with cleaning it just brush off the pulp under running hot water and your ready to go. The froth seperater is great, I didn't think it would work but it did so happy shout that and kids love drinking the remainder froth from the container.
The Only thing I have issues with is the fruit jumping out as soon as you put it in the chute as the blades cut cut the fruit so you have the be quick putting the chute tube in after the fruit goes in. But over all great juicer breville never fails to come through, I always have breville appliances and they are great for me.
This is now a very good juicer - with conditions – The NEW model is comparatively quiet, compared to the "wood chipper" whining the earliest models made. The simple 2 speed switch, and a "soft start", makes heaps of difference. I still think the fibre bin and the juice jug connections are kind of overly fiddly and say if I wanted to juice up and then freeze 20 litres of juice at one time,… Read more · 2
I';d rather the fibre exhaust into a chute that can be aimed into a bin or a big bag; and the juice jug, really ought not to have to be uncoupled from the unit - by this stage of proceedings, a better fluid decelerator and drain, into the jug ought to have been created by now.
And the apparent lack of spares is a concern - like the cutters, seem to be made of a hardened metal with a titanium nitride (very hard) film on them, but they still do wear out and there is no cutting head only replacements available.
If you could buy a new unit with either a resharpenable cutter head or replaceable blades - this would be a huge improvement.
The whole issue is that when it comes down to it, FRESH juice - from fruits and vegetables are second to none......
And this is now a really good juicer.
Kale, cucumber, carrots, apples, etc., etc., etc...
Ohhhhhh so nice. And so healthy.
great juicer – iI researched buying a juicer for a few days as id bought a relatively cheapo one in past -and you get what you pay for, it was far to hard to clean, noisy and everything had to be chopped and peeled within an inch of its life, after reading reviews on this juicer it stood out and with the boxing day sales on it was at a great price, after… Read more · 1
getting it, it met all those reviews how good it was, i like having 2 speeds low for softer and high for the harder, carrots, apples etc, great for when I`m using frozen berries defrosted at a low speed when not in season, and love i dont have to chop everything to the nth degree, it maximizes the juice output, as the pulp is always just about bone dry its obvious, its easier to clean, low noise, love it can go on the top shelf of the dishwasher, good tip to have a plastic bag in waste container for easy disposal, whilst no juicer is a 2 second job to clean, with the included brush its really easy. love my juicer use it every day, great was to get veg and fruits with out sitting there and eating carrots, spinach etc, throw it in with some fruit and your getting your vitamins and it tastes wonderful. having a bit of ice in the pour jug means your juice is icy cold once your done. great product!
Positive reviews
Love this juicer – This juicer is quick and efficient. The juice is clear and there is no pulp. I place a biodegradable bag in the pulp container and put it in the compost bin. No mess and minimal washing. Usually a quick rinse does it. I am very happy with this product and highly recommend it. Show details
Sturdy machine! – This juicer performed wonderfully for me. It is sturdy and hasn't malfunctioned in the six months that I have it. I used it on a daily bases for two months no problems. Like any machine, you need to use it properly and no put very tough cores or stems on it. Read up on how to juice properly or get tips from YouTube to get the most of your machine.… Read more
I give it a four because it doesn't juice small leaves like spinach very well. Other than that, I love my juicer.
This is very good but does not do a great job with leafy vegetables – This juicer is really good. Not messy and easy to use, wash and clean. The only drawback I noticed is that it does not juice leafy vegetables as nicely as it does other fruits and veggies. The leafy vegetables come out in the extract bin as is most of the time. Apart from this everything else is great with this juicer. Its worth having it. Show details

Bought two and they both died within a month – The unit was quiet and relatively easy to maintain however can be loud. My gripe with this unit was the shelf life. I bought one and it lasted approximately three weeks. Assuming this was just bad luck, I purchased another but this one only lasted four weeks. I'd suggest avoiding this all together Show details
Terrible at cleaning – The machine is good apart from cleaning bcoz design is worst they have put couple of design in plastic parts they are worst for cleaning. I use to like it now these days I hate it, with time you will slowly feels like to not to use it. Sorry brevile this time I can't give you thumbs ups Show details
Very disappointing after just a couple of months – I juice every day now. I got sick and had to start juicing fast so went to a local shop & got Breville as I've always known it as an excellent brand & been happy with so many prior products. Loved this one when I first got it but within weeks the pulp was coming out wetter and wetter. 3 months in I started tp take the pulp once i finish juicing… Read more
and literally make it into balls and squeeze it to get the extra juice.
Very disappointing. Should have spent the extra $$$ & got a good cold press juicer. Will get much more juice out of less food which will save the difference in $$$ & won't be air rated either.
I'm calling it a 'lesson learned'.

An awesome juicer for daily healthy juices! – My family has been inclined to healthy eating and drinking habits. While we’re calorie conscious, we aren’t going all out on healthy foods. Daily roughage from fruits has been an important part of my family’s diet. I wanted to add an option to give daily juices to kids and to my hubby - and treat myself to it as well. We went ahead and bought… Read more
the Breville BJE410 Juice Fountain Max and this is an awesome addition to my kitchen. Not only it can juice oranges and other soft fruits, it makes juicing carrots and green apples really easy with switch from Low to high speed mode. The blades are very well designed and can possibly go through metal parts if these are fed through the juicing tunnel - on the lighter side. On a daily basis, this machine has enabled me to give healthy juices to my family and I just love it. Yes, cleaning it can take up to 10 min however, it’s all worth it.
Amazing! – The performance of this juicer is amazing! I use it to make mainly apple and carrot juice. No need to cut, peel or deseed. Just a quick wash and your ready to go. It's easy to clean and dishwasher safe. The amount of juice extracted is quite good as 1 Liter of carrot juice needs about 12-15 carrots. It's a great and healthier alternative for kids who like juice. Show details
Juicer mesh has a hole in it – Initially excellent easy to clean and quiet. I juiced carrots lemons and turmeric. However the mesh now has a rip in it and the motor smells when I use it. Can I have a replacement mesh I bought in Good Guys on 02/01/2017. I have not used it very much. It looks on the outside sparkling but now does not work Show details
A value for money – Since we bought this blender we are enjoying the fruit juice from it, the machine is silent while in operation and easy to clean and maintain. We use this blender 3 to 4 times a week to make mixed fruit juices for our family. We are fully satisfied with it. Show details
Excellent Juicer – This is the third juicer I have owned and by far the best. Great design, solid, powerful, neat and pure juice. I'm so impressed with this item. As with all juicers, you have to disassemble to clean but because its so well made, it just rinses off easily. It's quieter than my previous juicers and can do most stuff on low. I only use high for carrots etc. Typical of Breville, a well thought out, well made and attractively designed product. Show details
Love it – Easy to assemble and use, easy to clean. Happy (and surprised the first time I used it) with the amount of juice that the machine produces. I usually use the machine on high speed but for softer fruits and leafies I tend to use the low setting which produces juice just as well. Machine is used 2-4 times a week and i tend to juice anything from… Read more
strawberries and bananas to carrots and celery.
I have only had the machine for a month or two so far but have found that the only thing I have to clean is the machine itself! Havent had an issue with leaking or spills which is great.
The machine is a little loud however I didn't really expect a 'quiet' juicer and dont mind the noise.
Happy with the product :)
Wears out too quickly :( – Juicer is loud (not really an issue though), easy enough to clean and maintain. Used it probably 3 times a week (always juice for two days). Was very happy with performance of juicer for about 18-20 months, but whether it is the motor, which sometimes sounds like its toiling, or the blade that got worn out, this juicer stopped performing so I… Read more
stopped using it for a while. Used it again recently and it does not produce anywhere near the same amount of juice as before and the pulp is always wet and has to go through again, and yes, I use exactly the same veggies and fruit as I did before ... Replacement parts are very expensive too so may just cut my losses and buy a new one.
Love this juicer! – We use our juicer every day - it has changed our daily routine for the better. Yes, it's large, so storage is a consideration - but it's a breeze to use and clean up. We buy fresh Tasmanian apples and pears, and add ginger, celery and carrot - delicious and nutritious! We've also used the pulp in a soup, for fibre :) Show details
The perfect blender that I have ever had – When I was invited to my boyfriend's house he made some juice with this perfect blender. I can still remember how amazing it was not only for how sweet he is, but also the taste of the juice. It tasted like what I buy from a juice shop. So i bought one for my own, strongly recommended! Nice well made product – Makes nice juice fast. Its a little loud but all juices are, at least the baby sleeps through it. Its a bit hard to clean but I think that applies to most juice machines. We use it every morning since getting it 3 weeks ago. Uses a lot of fruit/veggies to make the juice. I think it's liquid extraction could be a little better but im just being picky. Overall a well made product that performs as promised. Show details
Forgot how good this juicer is – When we moved house, I accidentally dropped my 9 year old juice collector bowl and broke the top rim off. A year later I called Breville to get a replacement piece. Very friendly, quick service from the call centre. My replacement piece arrived last week and I have been enjoying the most wonderful, healthy juices every day since. The amount of… Read more
juice extracted from the fruits and vegetables is incredible. The leftovers go straight into the worm farm. The unit is super easy to clean (I cheat and use the dishwasher most days). The juicer is great and I highly recommend.

that can juice oranges in this one
Makes quick work of vegetables
Down side is that it is quite large so good size bench top space required
Would be hard to keep it in cupboard and take out to use regularly
Best juice I've used to date – This juice does the job most juicers can't, make juice with minimal foam and mess. It will not clog up in the juicing chamber or spit juice everywhere on your kitchen bench and walls. The juice made is fine particle instead of the average smoothie soup. Easy to clean and lasts for years. I have tried most medium and low cost juicers and know that this machine is worth it's weight in apples. Don't forget to compost your pulp! Show details
Excellent ! – Excellent juicer. Easy to clean (they provide a brush to clean the filter) I makes juice everyday, so i don't need to shop for juice anymore because mine is very fresh and i can mix anything i want! After you finish juice, better to put water into your juicer (if you dont want to wash it straight away), also soak the filter as well to avoid the fruit pulp become dry and difficult to clean up. Excellent! – Excellent juicer, it makes almost every kind of juice I just love it and can't Live without it, I don't shop for juice anymore because I make mine fresh every day which is perfect although you will need plenty of fruit every week but that's okay as long I'm making my own juice at the comfort of my house! A vertiable workhorse! – Juices every thing you throw at it. Love the side bucket for the extra left overs, these go to my chickens :) . Biggest load is my twice yearly cider making where i process up to 30kg of apples per run. Easy to clean but hard to store. Still going strong after all these years. Great unit. Show details
Love my juicer – The title of my review says it all. The nice big opening allows me to chuck in whatever fruit I want without having to cut it up. The large waste collector also makes for easy mulch/compost or chicken feed And it's easy to clean as it disassembles easily with interlocking parts, so you don't need screwdrivers or tools like that. Not crushing – Hi there I've got juicer 15 months before it worked fine for almost a month and than I stopped using it because of busy schedule and now I would like to use it again but it's not crushing few veggies and fruit such as carrots and apples, and also it's very noisy as well,I'm the kind of person who misplace receipts so I couldn't find it,if you guys can help me out it would be appreciated, thank you Show details
Prepare Band Aids before use – I bought BJE410 in January 2017. It is almost the same as BJE400 which I used more than 15 years every day 365 days. Making juice is good but compared with BJE400, it is louder and has some level of sharp noise when motor is running. One big problem is that… Read more
there are 4 small plastic protrusions on the inside of the top of the
feed tube where the fruit is inserted. I have cut my hands using this juicer on multiple occasions. Especially when placing fruit into the juicer and while cleaning it as well. BJE400 did not have them but BJE410 has them. I do not know why they are needed. They are used to align the food pusher in the groove of the food pusher. Without the protrusion, I can still use the juicer without any problem. I prefer BJE400 to BJE410. I cannot see any improvement over BJE400 other than wider chute. My finger is still bleeding now...
Worked well for 1 1/2 years then – We were really happy with this juicer and used it every day for one and a half years then the motor started to act us when we juiced the carrots. It would still do other, softer things like cucumber but the motor really started to shudder when the carrots were put in. The machine would slow down and make a groaning sound like it really didn't want… Read more
to work any more. For the price it should last longer. It only has a 1 year warranty so I guess they don't expect it to last too long. When I phoned Breville they said the motor could be replaced under warranty but we would have to pay for the service costs. Well service costs start at $80 per hour so that would cost half as much as replacing the machine. So sad. :-)
OH so healthy – Have been using this juicer everyday for the last month, how good is it. Pure juice without the fibre that gets absorbed into the body much faster. Your stomach will love you cause it has less to process. The machine is so easy to use and you dont need to cut the fruit and veg much as it's handling capacity is brilliant. The ease of operation and the clean up is wonderful. Show details
