How much is it?

My chopper blade is not spinning. It is covered by the food (rolled oats) but is not overloaded. Yesterday it worked if I waited between attempts, almost as if it had to cool down, although it didn’t feel hot, but that doesn’t work today.

Hi Roo Girl. This Breville product was very useful for us when our son was a baby. It produced great baby food. However after 5 or 6 years of hard work in our kitchen the blade stopped turning. I opened the motor housing and found a plastic gear had split, allowing the motor to drive the shaft but not the blade. I tried various methods to repair it and even tried to buy a new gear. In the end gave up and sent it appliance heaven (bin). I don't have a bad word to say about the product. It was a good quality appliance that worked hard. If yours has the same problem I think it may be the end of its useful life.

Thanks for the insight to my problem Dr Will. If mine had 5 or 6 years of hard work then I too would be happy for it to go to appliance heaven. Although I have had mine for 6 years it has rarely been used. I could go months without using it so I am very disappointed that it is time to retire the unit. It was good when it worked but it didn't work enough in it's lifetime, even for the small price I paid for it. I am now looking at buying a similar Sunbeam machine.
