POOR Quality Builds - Broadway Homes
My house has bene completed now for nearly four years. Every Winter my roof leaks in multiple places. My daughters room flooded recently. They send out in experienced handymen and not qualified roof plumbers. Have some pride in your work and fix the problems correctly. You would be crazy to build with Broadway Homes or Seacrest if this is the expected quality of workmanship and after sales service.

Fantastic Experience from Start to Finish
A lot of people told us how stressful building a home is. Well not with Broadway Homes.
The process from the start was excellent. We had quite a fixed idea on how we wanted the house to be designed and what we wanted it to look like. Pete was patient and helped us to work through the details of our design so we could get the house we wanted.

We have now been in the house for 3 months and couldn't be happier. The quality of the build is out of this world and the house is exactly how we envisaged it. When they handed over the house they gave us a sheet to log any defects so they could get them fixed within the first 6 months. The sheet is still empty. I cannot recommend Broadway Homes enough. From the beginning to the end they have been nothing short of incredible.
Both my partner and I had decided that we were going to make the move from Canberra to Perth, which is daunting enough without having a new home being built all at the same time. We both had no idea on where to begin in finding land, finding a builder nor had we any clue as to how it all worked!

I was a little nervous when I first thought about building a new home - as a widowed mother of three the prospect seemed daunting. But from the moment Broadway started to design it my fear disappeared.

He made everything relatively stress free & went above and beyond - he is truly one of a kind. He supported me all though this build helping me find trades for the extra things I wanted done. Sorting out things that were definitely not up to him but made it easier for me - a real gem that one - he deserves a raise. Every single tradesperson I met was so lovely and also seemed to go above and beyond. You have clearly selected the best in Perth. Seamless and Top quality Two Storey build in 10 month
I found Broadway homes very very professional building company.
The build went as smooth as it possibly could and they made it feel really easy from the very beginning.
The key factor for us was effective communication and trust throughout the entire process.
All staff were really friendly. Our client liaison and site supervisor always responded quickly to our questions and were in constant contact with us throughout.
The build was managed very well and the quality of work was spot on. Excellent I should say.

In terms of workmanship and quality of our house we found Broadway Homes very good. Throughout the build process if there were any issues with the workmanship of the different trades we notified the supervisor and they were resolved to our satisfaction. We were happy with all stages of the build and staff that we dealt with from sales, prestart, build and finance. In terms of customer service we found all staff we dealt with responsive and efficient.
Fantastic builder, couldn't have asked for a better experience building a new home.
This was our first building experience and we couldn't have been happier. We had heard all the horror stories and were nervous to take the plunge. Lloyd, Charlie & Louis from Broadway were exceptional people to deal with and made us feel that our build was priority at all times. Such a great experience for us and a high quality finish.

Excellent Builder Very Happy With Design And The Finished Quality Of Both Houses.
We had an old house on a duplex block in need of development. We went through a few builders. Got to Broadway Homes and never looked back! Been happy ever since. The sales lady was inspirational, if not for her we may have still been at stage one, the pre start lady was full of advice where we couldn't make our minds up. The building supervisor was a guy who would solve problems with resolutions, who became like a friend to us to deal with not having dealt with a building supervisor before was welcoming. ... Read more took 12 months from slab down to finish which was impressive. The biggest pain was waiting for council approvals which did take over six months. The two individually designed houses was a challenge for both parties to suit our requirements, budget and to make them fit on the subdivided blocks. Which was great to see them constructed by a competent builder like Broadway Holmes. A personal thank you to all the staff at Broadway Homes who were a pleasure to deal with throughout the construction of the houses. We would definitely build with them again and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a competent quality builder.
Absolutely brilliant builders - a quick, stress free build
I had always said we would never build as I envisioned it to be a long & stressful experience. However when our perfect block in our favourite suburb came up we suddenly ended up in the position of needing to build. We were about to sign up with another builder but a friend who had built with Broadway twice insisted that we should get a design and quote from them.

Read more were slightly more expensive but once you considered the differences (sarking below the roof tiles, good quality kitchen appliances, clay roof tiles etc etc) they actually worked out to be the better alternative. During the initial planning/approvals phase our sales guy constantly kept in touch with us - we never needed to chase him as he was always prompt with his updates and everything came through ahead of his estimated timeframe. He was proactive in being aware of new council changes coming in which saved us the entire development approval stage by delaying putting our application in by two weeks (saving us $2.5k in council fees and 8-12 weeks waiting for approval). He also proactively warned us of the massive ($10k estimated) jump in demolition fees for jan 2015 and thanks to him we managed to get our old house demolished just before this happened. The interior decorator was great - with three young kids we barely had time to look at anything but in the free 3hr consult with her we chose everything easily and I am still very happy with my choices - it would've taken me hours of indecision on my own. Prestart was probably the only thing which we found slightly disappointing - it seemed to take forever. However my husband did have multiple complex electrical needs & we were disorganised with our lighting choices so this is was probably our fault.

We were very much welcomed every time we approached them for guidance and variations/changes. Unlike other builders who don’t encourage direct contact with senior management, Broadway is very unique. We met and spoke to their Sales Manager for our final plans (he himself designed minor sections of our home where we were looking for suggestions). We get to talk to the Construction manager directly regarding the timeframes, he shared his mobile number with you to discuss progress to date. Being a first home buyer I made sure I did plenty of research to find the right builder to suit my needs. This review site I found was very helpful in me making my decision. ... Read mores a costly exercise but it was the best thing I ever did as I found the right builder for me through Broadway and haven't looked back. In all they have been wonderful to work with from start to finish. I was attracted to their functional floor plans and value for money. Then my sales rep (Nick) was always upfront and professional to deal with, nothing was too big or too small to change, prestart girls were lovely and very helpful throughout the whole build, and then there was a bit of a delay on getting me the final paperwork and slab down, but then the rest of the build was quite transparent and went relatively as smoothly as can be expected. Even changeovers between site supervisors appeared seamless and they were all very hands on, easily contactable, professional and passionate on building a quality house that met industry standards. They seemed to use good trades at each stage as I was very happy with the quality of the workmanship throughout the build. The final product was 2 months behind schedule but in all I would highly recommend Broadway for their value for money, quality of build and professional honest service. I was exceptionally impressed with how professional and passionate all their staff were at every stage of the build to make sure my expectations were met on this build. Now I am in and over the moon with how my dream home has come out!! My final word of advice to first home buyers is to question everything that you feel doesn't sound right as your gut instinct is usually correct. Worth the wait...
Cannot fault the excellent customer service received before, during and after the build. No query was too difficult to handle, everything was dealt with in a prompt, professional manner. Despite delays in the process, the final product has been absolutely worth the wait. We couldn't be happier, would do it again, and have recommended the service to friends and family. Really happy with the quality of fixtures.
Very Disappointed!
We were another person sucked in by excellent sales people but unfortunately that's where it ended and now we feel duped. Thirteen major mistakes before we had a roof eg laundry plumbing in master bedroom. Our biggest problem was our upstairs slab is 140mm too short. Communication is shocking and we should have had handover in January but we are still waiting. We have absolutely nothing good to say about Broadway, their workmanship is the worst we have seen and I have been in the trade industry for 25 years. Agreed with all ther other comments such as having to pay before the stages were completed. Good luck if you build with them as you will need it!

Have no hesitating on recommending Broadway Homes. Our Designer Lloyd, Pres Start Consultant Samantha and Supervisor Tim absolutely made our time building with Broardway a enjoyable experience. The builders were tidy and did the job. Thanks Broardway Homes.
I'm a design engineer and after inspecting 4-5 display villages and quite a few homes in progress by a variety of builders we chose them for the follow reasons. (we spent 6 months and every weekend looking at different builders, hundreds of homes dozens of quotes)
A) they do a lot of two story homes. If a builder doesn't have a two story display home or has examples of ones they are currently building dont use them.
B) workmanship on the display and work in progress sites were some of the best we saw.
C) price wise they sit above the lower cost builders (101, summit etc) by around 5-10% BUT they did a 3C suspended slab for us and 31c walls in their base price. No truss or polystyrene walls like a lot of the cheaper builders. Watch out for that one. They then allowed us to do a LOT of modifications to the plans at almost no cost. I did get quotes from a lot of other builders from cheap to designer and Broadway came in as the cheapest modified standard builder. Other builders either didn't have the ability to do the modifications we wanted or they charged 300-400k for modifications that Broadway charged us 100k.
D) They built a non-standard house and worked with the council to approve it for us and dealt with certain elements of the codes to maxamise it's allowances.
E) They gave us the numbers of the supervisors and managers which we've used twice when we need to sort out minor items and things are sorted immediately.
F) We are building two story and the foundations, slab, first story, suspended slab have all gone up in 5-6 weeks. BLAZING fast compared to others. The first level brickwork from when the finance went through was done in 4 weeks.
G) We have made two variations after signing the contract. Both times Broadway has not charged a variation fee :D Super super happy about that.
We'll see how the rest of it goes but to date we are very happy with the communications and service.
I did notice someone gave Broadway 1 star and didn't even build with them... why...
Also in 2013-15 there was a MASSIVE shortage of workers in Perth for home building so everyones homes got delayed. We had friends wait 2 years for a 3 bed basic single story.
I also did a web search on builders and 4/5 for a builder in WA is pretty good. You should see what the builders who get 2-3 starts do... no reo in the concrete. forget to put a window in... one of the walls falls down during construction...
Our builds not finished - its about halfway there but from what we've experienced its been 5 star
If that doesn't answer your questions have a look at the review dates and stars. the lower ratings start in 2012 in a 3 month window with 1 use accounts... I think someone must have had a bad experience and decided to mess up the ratings. Then have a look at 2015 - nothing but 5 stars. They are smashing it outta the ball park.

Thinking of buliding with Broadway Homes. A bit concerned at some of the negative reviews. However, heartened by the good reviews. Besides Broadway Homes, can anyone suggest a good builder who will build to our design?
I would not recommend broadway to my worst enemy, they completed our house in Oct 14, over 4 months late. Since handover the house has leaked, the balustrade is rusted, the paint has peeled off and we struggle to open our sliding doors to our balcony. When we informed them of loose tiles on the roof, the supervisor quoted "it's ok they are spares!! Our handles are all slack on our doors, so we are unable to lock the bathrooms. The joinery is a case of "its close enough", then they fill it with wood filler but of a different colour so it really stands out. The Finally is:- we were asked what hob we we're supplying for the kitchen, so we picked a Hob and informed them of our choice!! that was 18 months before it was required, so it was no surprise it was discontinued when we went to purchase it. now our stone worktops have patches around the Hob.

Hi, we have had a terrible experience with Broadway so far. We haven't even got a pad down yet and they have tried to rip us off by double charging a lot of items in the prestart, they are arrogant, with poor communication. I recommend anyone building with them go through the fine print of your contract and any prestart items - by us doing so we found tens of thousands of $ they tried to overcharge us. No apology either.

Was going to write a review very similar to the other gentleman, hence I added a few different points. Needless to say, will never build with them again.
Hi Stanley we have been very pleased with Broadwayhomes, they have been informative and professional. We are about 2 weeks away from completion, and the standard is high quality.
