Cheap and efficient booking with no dramas
Honestly, most questions or concerns I had based on negative reviews were easily answered within the FAQ. Always make sure you read the fine print and understand conditions, such as 'non refundable'.
Although there's some booking and payment-type associated fees, overall our flight tickets, Melbourne to Narita with JAL, were significantly cheaper than other options (or booking direct with the airline). Booking was confirmed and tickets came within a few minutes. Easy to book and nice booking summary interface.
Although I was initially doubtful with a lot of the negative reviews and "always book direct" mentality, I do not regret it one bit.
Misleading service, stay away from this service.
I have typed 2 different names (first and middle) on my e-ticket.
The second one was changed to another different name after I have paid the ticket.
Now they want a fee to change the second name - poor service!
Booked the tickets and after 2 to 3 hrs the tickets were cancelled without any notification. Now the refund will be credited in 5 working days and in the mean time cant even book the ticket so might end up paying higher price for new tickets.

System changes your name and luggage allowance, initial quote excludes Visa Debit Charges, Customer Care staff rude!!!
Your e-ticket will not be the same as the details on the quote and even if you have screenshots to proof what was on the quote, they will insist you made the mistakes!!! There initial price quoted excludes a Vida Debit transaction fee, that brings the new total price to close to their competitors. Do not trust them. You will pay for their mistakes and are they allowed to charge you for paying with a Visa Debit Card. In S A it is illegal.....
Scammed me of $880 and won't give it back
I tried to pay for a plane ticket twice via bank transfer. Each time, this site took my money but did not give me any ticket. I called them about it and they said that the money would be returned within 2-3 business days. It has been 5 business days and there is still nothing.
This website is a complete scam and won't give our money back.

Also, one of the free charge options was POLi Payments, which did not have my bank listed in the options.
After looking at the other sites the booking charges were not as high and some had no booking fee.
Worst option to book your tickets from.
Unfortunately, this is the worst option to book your tickets. I booked an international ticket via this website. My ticket was from India to NZ through China. However, they did not specify at the time of booking that the plane would make a refuelling stop at Brisbane, Australia. Then, I wasn't allowed on the plane because one needs a transit visa to even stop at Australia, even if you're not getting out of the plane. When I tried calling the customer care for BudgetAir from the airport to resolve this issue, the automated call mentioned that I ...need to write a mail to the BudgetAir team and they will respond within 48-72hrs. I mean seriously? I'm standing at the airport struggling to find a solution so that I don't miss my flight, and their customer service is NOT EVEN AVAILABLE. Needless to say, I did not get any kind of a refund. Not a single penny. I wasted more than $1000 because I BOOKED ON BudgetAir. I strongly advise you to not use this website. Their service is pathetic.
Hidden Costs! Beware
When you go to book the ticket, there is a 'Ticket Service' cost added by default, it is a small box with a tick automatically applied and gets charged to your ticket cost. If you do not uncheck this it is considered to be your fault. The customer service is horrible and they talk very rudely with customers. When I tried explaining the issue the lady on the call spoke very rudely. Ill definitely escalate the matter.

I booked 3 tickets via BudgetAir. It took all details and paid the money over $2200. It processed, got booking confirmation and money got deducted from the account. I waited for email but didn’t get any in 15 minutes. I called the service team to get the email confirmation and Jim informed me that the booking has been not processed! What? How this is possible? I said, money has been deducted from my account and I even got the booking confirmation number. But he said yes but it has been rejected and we have refund yo...u back the money and will be in your account in 2-3 business days. I said, I dont have more funds in account to make bookings and we have to do it today anyhow and they say we cant do much please check with your bank. I spoke with his supervisor and he didn’t have any answer too. How could you possible take the money out of the account, send the booking confirmation to customer and say later that booking has been rejected! Very very unprofessional service and no doubt that is a way to dodge customers! I will take this matter further. Please save your money and stay away from booking using this service.

Do not book!
Do not book with budget air. Nothing but a scam. I booked tickets back in March and noticed my last name was listed twice. I emailed about this and they said as long as my name was spelled correctly was valid. Ok. But then two weeks before my trip in June they emailed me asking about wrong name and to send copy of my passport and if any corrections needed they would call airlines and give me new ticket. I heard back nothing. Arrived at airport and was denied boarding pass because GUESS what?! My name didn't match my passport! Everytime I trie...d calling local number even back in April they drop my call. You cannot get through to anyone. I had to try emergency number in the Netherlands and they said I would have had to call 24 hours before. I emailed them TWO weeks ago. The most stressful embarrassing time of my life! Ready to go and had to purchase tickets almost double what I thought i was saving! Was going from Edmonton to Australia. Please do not book. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else. Was my first time traveling alone leaving the country. Horrible experience. No refund or compensation given.
Wish I had read these reviews before booking!
I booked a return flight months before my anticipated trip. All was confirmed and then a few weeks later I was contacted by email to say my flight had been changed and rather than a one hour flight (Havana to Cancun) I would now have to do a six hour round trip via Mexico City. I was unhappy with this but was told that there was nothing I could do. Days before we were due to fly I happened to check online my booking (thank goodness I did) to find out that we were booked to fly to Mexico City with no forwarding flight back to Cancun! They had om...itted one part of our flight! We would have been stuck in Mex City! I made over 25 calls to them, same as everyone else was either cut off or told that I would be on the correct flight, someone would call me back etc etc.. it was incredibly frustrating to say the least. Once at the airport for our flight we were still booked to go to the wrong place so I had no choice but to purchase tickets and be out of pocket. I now can't get hold of anyone. I have called ten times today and keep getting hung up on. I really think that ACA should take a look at this. Its a disgrace and an out an out scam!

Avoid them very bad service
Very bad service, unreliable customer service personnel and vary bad communication. They just try to scam you out of money as much as they can. Do not use them. They cannot be trusted.
Beware of additional charges in the name of Ticket insurance
Beware of additional charges in the name of Ticket insurance on their first booking page, its ticked by default and about 24$ will be added to your total cost, make sure you un-tick. Its a trick to make you pay more and practice to loot as many innocent people.

I tried to change my flight. They said they had sent an email to Virgin Australia requesting fairs, Virgin never received the email. I asked for them to provide me with a copy of the email they sent to Virgin, when I asked this they hung up on me.

Had to cancel my flight. I had full insurance so i needed a receipt to show i was getting only a few dollars back. Its been 5 weeks no refund (which now they say will take another 25 days) and no receipt so i can finalise my claim. Everytime i call i speak to a different person who has a different story..

I had flights booked with budget air almost 6 weeks before my flight. 10 days before my flight, i thought i might manage my booking to see if could reserve my seats. To my horror i'd found my flight had changed without my consent. I wasn't contacted directly as i think i should have been for such a thing. My new flight was a complete inconvenience with a total flight duration of over 30 HOURS! with a stopover of over 9 HOURS!

Epitome of ‘ Worst Service’
Cancelled my trip due to medical reasons. Every single time I called them (5+ times) I got cut off and each time at the start of the conversation I asked them to be called back if we get cut off. Yes they said but no they did. It has been two months since they have emailed me confirming the refundable amount, three weeks since their email saying amount will be deposited in 5 working days. I called them twice yesterday every time a dif info and every time the call got disconnected AGAIN. I would never ever use them if they sold tickets for a dollar.

We are in a dilemma. My husband and I booked our trip via Budget Air ( in March) from Calgary Canada to Lima ,Peru. Budget Air messed up our departure ( after being unable to check in on line) and rerouted us from Toronto to lima(2000 miles from Calgary). We called Budget Air however they kept us on hold for over an hour at a time after three consecutive calls. We were fortunate to get to Peru only by Westjet agents fixing our tickets. our return flights are questionable We are uncertain how to handle this further since Budget Air has not responded to several emails and calls. Our return flight is August 2nd .. However Westjet agents are uncertain if this is accurate. Traveling in Peru means our phone privileges are slim. We may ask a family member from home to Jeep calling. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
