delivery, when all I wanted was a refund of the express shipping fee. The company should be more upfront and proactive in communicating with customers, especially if an order is delayed or will not arrive on time.

Purchased a Nikon lens hood and all indications on the website were that it was a Nikon product. When it arrived I discovered that it was not and consequently does not fit properly (vignetting at full wide angle with a filter attached and very awkward fitting. Very, very poor service and complete lack of sales fulfilment and accountability – I ordered a simple camera related item that at the time of ordering showed "8 in stock". 5 days later I called to see where the item was and was informed "it was apparently being shipped". They back order items you think are in stock – I ordered an expensive lens, only to be told it wasn't in stock and was going to be next week. I needed this lens on the same day I ordered, so I was frustrated and asked for a refund. Back to their original location (behind Ultratune) they are packed full with stock and often a good Dad joke if there is such a thing.

Best camera store on the coast! – I have bought products from Cameras Direct many times now. Both my kids have purchased DSLR cameras and accessories and we couldn't be happier with both the merchandise and the service. The guys have incredible knowledge and experience and we were ever grateful for their honest advice and friendly manner. what I didn't realise at time of purchase is that the warranty is provided by Cameras Direct and not Nikon Australia.

The first I realised I been sold a grey market / parallel import with no valid Nikon Australia warranty was when the camera arrived by post and I found a photocopy of the camera manual and no warranty card. I rang Cameras Direct to advise and they said I was lucky to receive a photocopy because Nikon had stopped including manuals with cameras in the past. The person I spoke to did not indicate it was because the stock was sourced overseas. This was not very honest and transparent.

When I rang Nikon they advised Cameras Direct is not an authorised reseller and that the serial number on the camera was not qualify for Nikon Australia warranty. As a result, I have to rely on Cameras Direct providing 2years warranty but I have no idea who will actually fix any issues and where they are Nikon technicians.

I checked the Nikon list of Authorised Resellers (see Nikon Life) and I found similar and cheaper prices.

Ordering and delivery was fast and easy. Pricing is not good, they are expensive for sellers of grey market/parrallel product and even more expensive that authorised resellers of Nikon Australia and therefore Nikon Australia warranty.

Happy with purchase - with caveats – As stated in previous reviews, this place isn't what it used to be when it was a proper store but for quick purchases in-store for things that you know the price of, it's absolutely fine. The worst of the worst customer service! – Avoid this incompetent arrogant business at all cost. Was given the run around when I asked for the sales to chase up my order I was meant with what do you want me to do so I asked for the manager who turned out to be the owner of the business and was spoken to in such a condescending way that I said I'll cancel the 3k order and was hung up on and he continued to hang up like a 2 year old throwing the biggest tantrum.

Third time visited the new ''shop'' to look at camera bags, as there were heaps on the website. Howver we could not have a browse of the bags, as they were behind counter where we were 'not allowed'. Just left once again and decided this was last time.

What a dodgy looking place, hidden down a side road, nothing at all like the original shopfront. In fact the whole operation seems odd and dodgy. Will never buy from them, despite being local.

$6300.00 worth of sweet Nikon D850 & Tamron 15-30 lens arrived within the week. Very pleased to buy from Australians in Australia and speak to knowledgeable camera users. This is my second expensive camera after my Nikon D750 and my fourth lens from Cameras Direct and Ive never had a bad experience yet. Cheers fellas.
