Hi, I have a CMX1402, I think it is a problem with the HST. The unit will now only go forward and not backwards..This happened out of the blue, mowing fine then , no backwards. Is there an adg on the rod ? is there a valve ? any info seams hard to find. thanks Ross
Hello Ross, Thank you for your question - sometimes a bent control pedal can slow reverse speed but is unlikely to stop reverse. Is there no reverse even when using the hand F/R control lever? If there is nothing obviously hindering the reverse you will need to contact your dealer and speak with them. The dealer will be able to help with any check valves etc. Thank you.
All fixed, thank you, HST has been pulled out stipped and found that the reverse check valve had unscerwed , must have been a bad build jod , put back together and back in , machine has less than 500 hrs on it, it has been put back to work, see what bracksnext ! Regards Ross
I am having troubles with my drive. The mover is only 10hrs old and progressively getting harder to move, especially when hot.
It has also started to run away when going down hill resulting in some very hairy moments. Also reverse is very weak compared to forward.
Is this a service issues or signs of a greater problem? CMX1810

I need to replacement the belit that drivers the wheels. Any help on how to do the job would be appreciated. Can’t find a YouTube instruction video
I have just done this quite easily and quickly with the standard manual as a guide (CMX1808). There a good picture in there of the belt path, and info on the tension required. Hope you found it.
Yep I was able to do the job successfully .Cheers Paul
Gday my pull start on my cmx1402 won’t engage when trying to start does the brake need to be on for it to do so ? With regards bill
Hello Bill, To start the engine using the pull start the ignition must be on, break engaged, and have someone sitting on the seat. Hopefully that helps!
Hi. The spring that returns foot and hand pedal to neutral unfortunately got ripped of when a friend was mowing the paddock a few weeks ago. I bought from stihl a new spring twice, first one was not the correct spring, light gauge metal short spring, then went back yesterday to pickup another one which has very thick diameter metal, longer coil and the hook ends are longer and opposing. This spring is so tough it wont bend flex nor can u pull it to expand it. When connected to v bracket next to hst i need to extend it 5mm or so and bend turn to 45 degree to get into the lever hole which is the one that has the wheel midway up that notches into the second lever to locate neutral in the groove. I have tried everything to extend twist and bend this spring so it goes into the hole with no success. Has anyone had to refit this spring on cmx1402 honda before? I heard the cmx2302 is a much lighter spring because the mechanism is different so pls dont relate this spring to that one thanks. If i can load a pic os spring will do. Thxs for any help

Hi i have just noticed a puncture. Can i buy a razorback puncture repair kit online. Phillip
Hi, My 2017 CMX 186H has a very loose drive belt i want to get a new one what size etc please
Hi. I have an issue where a stick or something had come from underneath and hit the motor fan blades. Consequently it has pushed them into the metal surround and a few blades have been sheared off. Is this a part that will be easily sourced and easy to replace?
Hello Nick Thank you for your question. From the information you have provided it is likely the fan on the HST. This is a replaceable part. You will need to speak to your Razorback dealer to get the part ordered. We recommend getting a dealer to inspect and identify any other potential issues caused - partially to see if there has been any damage to the louvres on the back of the shroud as this will cause other issues.
I am trying to find the ignition fuse , or any fuse , there is nothing in the box under the seat and am trying to trace the harness back from the ign switch , it was accidently shorted and the hour metre isnt turning on or ignition
Hello Graeme, Thank you for your question - I believe you have spoken to our team since asking this question, but to confirm there is a fuse box located next to the pull-start on the engine.
It seems my bottom end bearing blow, which dropped the rod and the piston. Is it possible to get parts for the Subaru robin eh65D? Or replace the engine with the Yamaha version? Please help
Hello Connor, thank you for your question. In this instance you would need to go with the Yamaha engine. They are almost identical to the Subaru Robin so fit in the machine very well.
Thank you very much so there's nowhere I can get the parts to rebuild it? Previously worked as a mechanic and have the experience If I do go the Yamaha EH65D is there a specific model number that has the same mounting points and pto shaft placement? Thank you so much for your help so far
Subaru/robin no longer produce that engine and almost cease to exist. Yes the replacement engine is a complete drop in experience but there may be some parts that need to come over or be adjusted to the exact spec of the engine being replaced.
Where would I purchase one of these yamaha eh65 engines? I'm guessing I may require new belts and stuff? Is this something the dealership also does? How do I go about getting quotes?
Hello Connor - This can all be purchased through your Razorback dealer. It uses the same pulley and belt. Engine crank height will also be the same.
I bought it second hand, I don't have any way of transporting it and I don't have a local "razorback dealer"
Hello Connor, please feel free to contact our customer service department on 02 6923 0000. Thank you.
Can anyone tell me how to disengage the hydrostatic transmission to allow free wheeling these canycom/razorback mowers? Cheers
Hello Stu, Thank you for your question. On the left hand side you can put the hi/low lever into the neutral position.
Ok, so if it's in the neutral position and it is still really hard to push, and assuming the linkages have moved the actuator on the hydrostatic transmission to the correct position, I suppose there is internal damage... correct?
If the Hi/Low leave is in the halfway position (neutral), and the park brake is released, the machine should free wheel. It should not take much effort to push in a straight line on a flat concrete surface. If you have concerns, please contact your local service dealer for support with your Razorback.
Hi , anyone know how to remove cutting blade cover so I can change blades ?not in manual ,do I undo the nut and tap metal ] shaped rod out
Hi, I have a CMX1402 I was changing the battery and have shorted it out. I'm now trying to trace and find a fuse. Is anyone aware of where it may be or what kind of fuse I need to resolve my Russell Coit moment without needing to take it to the shop. Cheers
What is the best oil to use for topping up hst fluid?
I am trying to sort out a battery issue with my razorback. I cannot find any info about how to remove the light unit. There is nothing on the reverse of the frontcover where it is supposed to be. Any assitance would be greatly appreciated
