They fixed the scratch but broke the door handle. Dealer mechanic said they also left multiple bolts loose in the door and scratches where they opened it... Now I can't operate the passenger door from inside. Dealer has quoted over $700 to repair. Would NOT recommend.
Capital Smart Hoppers crossing provided poor service. Had to go there 3 times for issues , Quality work is not done. Caused a new dent and One of the repairers is very rude not accepting mistake behaving rudely and sending us away.
I thought being a large company that they would do an amazing job. When I picked up my car I noticed a piece of the gear stick knob was broken off and left in the console. It's now 6-months later and I moved house so my car is no longer stored undercover only to find after a big rain a puddle of water on the floor of the back seat and in the… Read more
boot. Basically the 2 doors replaced were of poor quality and leaking. One of the doors also has a rattle in it. I noticed from day one that when I close the doors they have a hollow feel to them, unlike the smooth soft close that happens with the original doors. The car smells of damp and I have to keep a tarp over the car to protect it from the rain until my insurance company can rectify the situation.

The experience with Capital Smart at Mile End was quite underwhelming and the quality of workmanship was both inferior and sloppy. Excess paint was allowed to settle causing it to dry in a pool. The repairer would have seen this at time of painting and indeed, at time of reassembly, however it is obvious this person ignored the issue. This is… Read more
unacceptable performance by the repairer and demonstrates he/she does not care about delivering quality work. I should not have to accept this faulty work.
The customer service was poor – impersonal, transactional rather than relational (I was “just a number”), limited communication, no explanation of the work to be performed, no one seemed to care, no consideration to my availability for vehicle collection, and the vehicle was presented to me in an unsatisfactory manner.
The vehicle was not returned in a clean condition, notwithstanding I provided the vehicle in pristine condition, inside and out. The assessor made excuses, none of which were acceptable.
Capital Smart delivered a disgraceful level of customer experience and if I was to rate the service using a Net Promoter Score, it would be “Detractor” on the basis I will not recommend family or friends to Capital Smart, nor could I recommend AAMI as an insurer of choice if Capital Smart continues to be the only provider of crash repair services.

Our vehicle was taken here for insurance repairs of bonnet and damage above front window screen. when putting roof rack back on vehicle they damaged rubbers and allowed water to enter the vehicle via the damaged rubbers and bolts from repair. then refused to accept that the rust inside vehicle roof and door panels was from water. After water… Read more
leaking in for a period of 5 months they tried to tell me the airbags where safe, when I asked for them to put that in writing they then told me they were replacing them but refuse to send through any certification that this has happened so have to take their word for it. no care factor in the work they carry out. if you have these guys carry out any work go over it with the fine tooth comb. bonnet not put back on vehicle probably doesnt even line up. you will find it hard to find anyone that will want to do rectifying work after SMART has done any repairs. from a what should have been a basic fix by trained trademen now our vehicle is deemed unfair for purpose and now heading towards the write off route.
The Banyo workshop completed repairs to my 12 year old Volvo ahead of time without compromising quality. All staff from Reception, Assessor and Panelbeaters did a great job, many thanks. Show reply

Capital Smart, Dandenong did an apalling job repairing my rear bumper. A fresh coat of paint was sprayed over the damaged area, leaving obvious lumps and cracks in the finish. In the area surrounding the key hole, the damaged plastic can be felt beneath the paint. They also removed one of the emblems and didn't replace it. The office staff have been slack, don't call back when they say they will, and are generally unhelpful.

Based on my experience, I say avoid at all costs. they (Nerang) were to repair a near new car, and instead of disassembling they taped up around trim, the paint didn't match. After complaining about their shoddy work which was a 5 day job, they took 6 weeks to do a re-repair which was arguably worse than before. In my opinion you should go anywhere else, save yourself the headache

I couldn't be happier with the work done by Capital Smart replacing and color matching a dented panel on my car. Also the customer service was second to none. They were so helpful and pleasant. I took my car in for an assessment first and when… Read more · 1
parts had arrived the work took three days.
I had to wait several weeks for the initial assessment because of their long waiting list.
But overall it was well worth the wait. The new panel is indistinguishable from the rest of the car and the work has a lifetime guarantee.
I'm very happy.
Follow-up · Booking process was straight forward. The loan car was superb. The wait was a bit tedious but this workshop gets so many bookings its understandable. Worth the wait for the excellence of the job and for the attitude of the staff which makes such a difference.
Would have to easily be the worst repair shop i have ever encountered. Car went in to fix a small blemish on the drivers door. Paint job was rippled and did not accept the work. Went back for rectification repairs, came back 3 days later, door… Read more
better still showed the blemishes, but the front bumper was scuffed, the roof had inherent a 40 cm x 10cm cluster of scratches that looked like a roller door had been shut on it while moving, and the otherside of the car had overspray down the side. It stayed there for 5 days while I negotiated with insurance. Eventually found a panel beater to take it on, many shops I rang as soon as I said it was at capital smart they said sorry not interested. I got the car back from new panel beater they told me the drivers side indicator isn't working but dont know why. When I got it home discovered the wiring harness had been tampered with and the wire had been cut behind the driver side light harness, then the oil light and engine management light came on. Had it towed to mazda and discovered metal filings in the sump and now having a new motor installed. Car still in warranty. Insurance has supplied us with a hire car, when picking up the hire car the receptionist told me they get lots of customers needing hire cars after having there cars at capital smart, one having there car returned 4 times. Stay well away from this business.
Follow-up · Shannons have been excellent throughout, though the number one tip is appoint your own repairer, their recommended repairer are there for a reason, cheap repair cost which comes at a consumer cost. I was recently in an accident, and I was able to choose where to take my car for repairs. I chose Capital SMART repairs in Rowville & was able to book in for the next morning. Right from first meeting Mel at front of house the experience was amazing. She has been extremely helpful & walked me through the process of what they would be doing. … Read more
Mel also directed me to a website to be able to get a hire car (as the accident was not my fault). The mechanic who looked at my car talked to me about what would have to done & showed me the areas affected by the accident that I hadn't seen under the bonnet. He also gave me an estimate on how long it would take (5-10 business days but possible delay depending on how long it took to get the parts in). The week following I received a text advising my car would take just over another week to be ready (no problem). However sadly I was unable to get a hire car due to the at fault driver being a learner who was uninsured & we were juggling a family of five between school & work commitments. That same week we had a family member pass away unexpectedly and needed to travel a couple of hours away to make arrangements and attend the funeral. I took the chance to call SMART repairs & see if I might be able to get my car back sooner. I spoke to Mel & explained the situation to her & she was so empathetic & kind. She spoke to her manager & they arranged to have the repairs completed by the next day at midday so we could have everyone travelling together for the funeral. I received multiple updates on how the repairs were going & a call the very next morning to let me know the car was ready. When I went to pick up the car Mel gave me a big hug (so welcomed) & she showed me the car & went through what was done. I could not have asked for a more professional, caring & amazing company to help us at a time that was so upsetting for our family & if I could give them 100 star rating I would. Mel is such an asset to their team & our family truly appreciates the hard work (car looks & drives so well) and kindness shown to us.

(Audi Q7) I am one of those people who do not write reviews, however in this case I make an exception. I have had two experiences with SMART repairs in Coburg. Once just recently after backing into a tree and damaged tailgate, lights and rear bumper creating all sorts of havoc with the auto open and closing function of the tailgate. I can't… Read more
thank Sam enough for his tenacity in sorting out this complex issue. Sounds like a simple repair, however given the damage done and complexity of Audi electronics and on board computers it was a nightmare to sort out. Car is now functioning perfectly.
Second repair happened last year after hitting a kangaroo at highway speed. Damage was done to front grill, headlight, panels and damage was also found under the car. Repairs were done quickly and car was like new. Given that I felt headlights were focused slightly too high on low-beam I revisited SMART Repairs some six months later and Sam sorted out the issue for me and had the headlights adjusted on the spot.
On both occasions, all damaged parts were replaced with new.
I found the ladies on the front desk pleasant and helpful, offering me coffee and arranged for an Uber to take me home, and pick me up when the car was ready. Sam, who organised the repairs to my car on both occasions was a pleasure to deal with. I have no hesitation in recommending SMART Repairs in Coburg.
Worst business embarrassing – I had to follow up for four days straight after the promised completion date to get my car back. Each day, I was told it would be ready the next day—most recently by Crystal. On the fourth day, I spoke to a manager who said he would call me back in 30 minutes. That never happened. After waiting two hours, I went to the shop myself to find out… Read more
what was going on. The manager finally showed me my car and explained they were missing a handle for my Triton tailgate.
By this point, I had already taken four days off work just to be repeatedly told, "come back tomorrow." Frustrated, I went home and found the exact handle myself—locating a shop in Dandenong that had it in stock. I then called the manager, provided him with the details, and he was able to purchase, paint, and install it the same day.
When I finally arrived to collect my Triton Ute, the tailgate wasn’t sitting flush, and the handle wasn’t installed properly. I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to fix those issues.
Then, as I went to start my car, I noticed $50–$60 in gold coins missing from my coin holder. I immediately confronted the manager and another staff member, who denied that their workers would steal. However, after checking the arrival photos, it was clear that my money had been taken. Instead of properly addressing the issue, they handed me a $50 gift card—as if that made up for the theft.
To top it all off, I had to source the missing parts myself just to get my car finished.
This place is beyond embarrassing—completely unprofessional from start to finish.

Hardly a seamless process. Perhaps approach this from a customers persepctive in future. Advised me at the last minute that the vehicle was ready for collection, then couldn't collect the vehicle in time before their incredibly incovenient time of 4pm closure.

I’ve been to Capital Smart Repair Lansvale three times after car accidents last year. Unfortunately, my most recent assessment and repair was not done thoroughly at all. During the inspection, the assessor only looked at the rear bumper bar and did not properly check the rest of the vehicle. Five months later, my mechanic discovered that both… Read more
rear shock absorbers were leaking fresh oil and recommended replacement. This was extremely concerning, as it suggests the damage was missed during the original assessment.
When I returned to raise this issue, I was told that it was a “minor accident” and that they had “only touched the bumper bar.” That response was disappointing and dismissive, especially given the mechanical issue found later.
Based on my repeated experiences, I’ve lost confidence in the thoroughness of their inspections and repairs. I would not recommend this location if you expect a comprehensive assessment after an accident.

I had my car repaired here recently, and the experience was very disappointing. The service quality was far below expectations. My car still has the same issues, which shows a lack of proper diagnosis and workmanship. Communication was poor, and there was no accountability for the problems that remain unresolved. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for reliable and professional car repair.

My review is of Capital Smart, Airport West, Victoria. My car had suffered a collision as a result of a motorcycle rider trying to fit his 80 cm handlebars through an 80 cm gap, at speed!! disappointed. Their service, start to finish, was exceptional, from the office staff, appraiser, metal bashers and painters. It was a very refreshing experience.
On delivery to CS, I was given a time frame of 7 days to complete repairs, which I thought was too long, and I was happy to hear that it had been finished two days early.
An Uber is provided after drop off and for pickup.
The car was washed and vacuumed before pickup, and it hasn't been so clean since it left the show room when I bought it!!
Overall, this has been a very professional service, with which I have been very satisfied.
Absolutely disgusting repair on my 2024 Subaru Forester Sport. The guys at the Osborne Park branch need a good lesson on professionalism and actually carrying out a proper repair on their customers vehicles.
