Booked Carinspect for a pre purchase check on a used Subaru Forester. Booking was simple. The inspector turned up on time, friendly, and knew his stuff. The report came fast with clear photos, it picked up a small oil weep and uneven tyres I would’ve missed. Helped me negotiate a better price and feel confident about the car. I paid Carinspect for a report into a Ford sedan. the report came back that the Ford was fitted with a 4,6,8 cyclinder motor, this is completely wrong. the Ford sedan I asked them about only ever came in 6 or 8 cyclinder. what a rip off.

They got it so wrong, the car I bought has steering vibrations and woefully bad brakes, the report stated the exact opposite, extremely disappointing, wouldn't of bought it.

Absolutely horrendous, booked the top report for same day/next business day bookings. The mechanic booked rhe next morning and then called in sick. Told the seller it would be monday 3 days but booked for tuesday, and then i contacted the company. They just said “nothing we can do” I asked for refund they said 5 business days, this was my first booking absolutely rubbish avoid

235$ for a visual inspection from Carinspect, did not even bother to remove one wheel let alone 4 to inspect the brake pads to give me a pad thickness … could not see the shocks so unable to tell me if there was a leaky one, did not perform a road test either. Will never use this again – I used the car inspect service to inspect a vehicle interstate as it was a long distance away, I got a report back that the car was great with a few minor scuffs cosmeticly which I thought was fine, so bought the car after receiving the report. not only did the brakes fail the roadworthy but there was $4000 worth of repairs needed to pass a roadworthy. I will never use this service again, I will never recommend this service to anyone. I raised the issue with them and nothing has come from it. I’ve now paid more than half of what I paid for the car on getting it to RWC. This service is horrible

Perfect – Had the inspection done same day as requesting it, RAC earliest was 10 days, service was prompt and review of the car was detailed. Could not have asked for more, circa $300 saved me ‘000’s. Thanks to Marshall for performing the service and to Carinspect for arranging it. Perfect.

I don't recomment at all – Unfortunately I cannot put zero star so ... I do not recommend the services of CarInspect. I purchased a car after having it inspected by CarInspect, and their report gave the car an 'A' rating, noting only that the tires would need replacing soon. Fast forward a month and a half later, and this car has been to the garage five times with $4,200… Read more

in repairs, and the problem is still unresolved – a major oil leak.

Of course, the warranty offered by CarInspect (because the vehicle met the criteria), doesn’t cover this type of issue. I contacted them, but they claim they have no responsibility in this matter. However, in the name of customer satisfaction, they have offered me a 20% refund of the inspection fee, which amounts to about $40... Their response feels like a joke, especially considering the size of the bill and the quote I sent them.

CarInspect claims to offer thorough inspections to help you avoid buying a lemon, but following their report, I ended up with something closer to a pasta drainer – leaking oil everywhere...

Needless to say, I don’t recommend CarInspect at all.

Communication during the process was excellent. I was even able to email the testing mechanic some YouTube videos of where this make of car rusted! The inspection covered stuff that I would have overlooked and disclosed features that made me pass on the deal e.g. excessive amounts of body filler that photos could not show. Photos of the underside included in the detailed report were also decisive. I also had a bit of an epiphany: if I inspected a car I was desperately keen to own, I'd be prone to discount what could be serious flaws. Having a disinterested party do an appraisal is a much safer way to do it. I'll use Carinspect again, even for a local car.

Poor Quality, misleading information – I bought a car from distance purely relying on Carinspect, it turned out that their report and mechanic comments were that the car was in good condition with minor scratches that would buff out.
