time for telecommunication ombudsman

bought a 12-month plan now they tell me my phone won't work due to 3g going.
but Optus tell me my iPhone 11 is fine the problem is the plan they sold me knowing it would not last a full year.
Think I need to go to telecommunication ombudsman or if this has happened to others maybe class action. Show details

Catch Connect - That's a joke more like catch will never connect you

Purchased a years subscription. The mobile was ported but not activated so I could not make calls at all. many days passed with same excuse every day. "your activation has been advanced to level 2" what rubbish other suppliers will port and activate you in hours not days. Support just give same generic answers and are quite rude. I'm ashamed to think these are Australians in Australia doing this. Its a blatant money grab then fight like hell to get your money back. "They say no money back very sorry"
DONT use Catch Connect unless you have a hotline to the telecommunications Ombudsman.
They are BAD NEWS go someplace else Show details

Have a DEBIT or CREDIT card or don't bother. Useless Customer Service

I purchased a 12 month SIM and can't activate it without a Debit or Credit Card. Tried to liaise with both online and phone Customer Service and as in all the other reviews they were disgusting. Online guy just told me I couldn't activate my SIM and then just dropped out.
They refused to accept any other form of ID.
This is discriminatory practice and I am reporting them to thr Telecommunications Ombudsman. Show details

Very bad service

Very very bad service. I bought a yearly sim 260 gb on their promotion . But received 200 gb only. To claim other 60 gb, I had to call 4 times customer support and prove that I bought with receipts and still, I did not get 60 gb data.

And catch claimed I bought the promotion on discount. Which was not the case. I bought on promotion of extra data not cash discount. Show details

Good in Australia, forget it for global roaming

I have used Catch Connect in Australia for a few years, great connectivity and great price. However on a recent trip overseas, I had used $25 global roaming under 24 hours navigating around Singapore then $75 in Japan using Google translate while in hospital for a day in Japan. My advice is get an eSIM for the country that you are visiting, here in Australia before you leave. Show details

Great value for money

The shocking and horrendous cost of living crisis has even extended to prepaid mobile phone plans where prices have more than doubled in less than 6 months for my old Coles mobile phone plans but I later found out that Catch Connect is actually the same company under a different name and after having a look managed to get a Catch Connect prepaid mobile phone plan for $40 every 90 days for unlimited calls and sms and 20gig of data which I will never use. Thank You Catch Connect !!! Show details

I bought 2x SIM cards, $120 each but only received 1. I rang for refund for the missing SIM card, spoken with Catch customer service; being told she will email me once she process refund in system but I received nothing. Show details

I subscribe catch connect for 1 year. Its not working. No Data, cannot call out. Has been contacting Catch on the issues. However, cant rectify the problem. Ask for refund, catch connect refuse to refund. Do not use Catch connect

Won't support change of ownership applications

Unlike most other providers, they don't have the services to change the ownership of your account. This conveniently makes porting out very difficult. Show details

This is imperfect!! I can live without it

Often Data and voice unavailable. Lots of apology from front hand staff but no action or follow up ro resolve issues. Out of desperation decided to go with another provider (Happy now!) and asked for a pro-rata refund and it was refused. Definetely not recommended even to my worst enemy. Show details

Misleading Plans for bonus data

If you see the plans, they clearly show BONUS data on the 120GB, 180GB and 200GB Plans, For the $20GB and 10GB this is for NEW customers only.

However, once you signup (eg: the 200GB) you then discover that bonus data is only for new customers only. That isnt obvious anywhere or easily seen in the terms. This is a new service (compared to old one I was on - not a new customer as Catch claims)

So beware when signing up as an existing customer - I think this is very misleading Show details
