their incompetence, I was left without a vehicle for days. I have three children and need to pick them up from two different schools, yet CBA Insurance showed zero urgency, zero care, and zero accountability for the impact this had on my family. This was not a complicated issue. One email could have solved it. Instead, I was ignored while my car stayed locked up and my life was put on hold. The lack of communication and basic customer service is shocking. If you’re a parent or rely on your car for daily life, think twice before dealing with CBA Insurance. They don’t seem to understand—or care—how their delays affect real people.

I made a claim with CBA after being rear ended at a stop light. Provided a police report number and name and address of other driver. I became quite unwell and did not follow up with the crash repairers as I was interstate and not driving. I was happy the claim was reactivated but it seems they are now doing whatever they can to impede it. I was told the excess was waived as it was no-fault (rear end while stationary at lights). Advised to attend a crash repairer nowhere near my address. I argued that I was provided with one when first making the claim that was closer but told “the computer decides on location”. They eventually relented on this but not before becoming obstructive. I was asked for the other car registration. I know this was provided in the initial report and now cannot find it. Was told to attend police station and pay $100 for the report (they “kindly” provided the form!) Then to top things off, they reneged on the no despite writing to say there was none given the type of accident. No explanation when I asked just several emails stating my claim was under review. I’d made no other claims, it was entirely no fault, and had followed the instructions proved by CBA. The insurance is supposedly a benefit of the wealth package on my mortgage. A complete joke. I took my household insurance elsewhere given the premiums were too high. There’s little or no benefit in mortgage rates (any minuscule reduction is reversed within months independent of RBA changes) and to add insult to injury, my car insurance premium has increased to such an extent it is twice that of several other insurers from whom I obtained quotes. Needless to say, I’ve cancelled it. Should be no stars but I guess people understand that you provide one star in order to inform others.

the insurer was not satisfied with the quote provided by my chosen repair shop. Without my consent, they had my vehicle towed to one of their preferred repairers for a separate assessment — despite my clear communication that I did not approve this and had concerns about the quality of work from that shop.
Unfortunately, my fears were justified. The quote from their preferred repairer omitted $4,000–$5,000 worth of parts that were clearly damaged in the accident. Their appointed accessor has never physically inspected my vehicle. The process has been endlessly delayed, and despite my repeated attempts to follow up via email and phone calls, I am consistently told that each response will take 5–10 business days.
This experience has been deeply frustrating and emotionally exhausting.

not provide the evidence to insurance company to prove it’s not my fault. Police said the insurance company can access the report with police report number and required the footage. However, the comminsure states that it’s their policy that they don’t obtain the police report and it’s my responsibility to get it and provide to them, which I could not get it from the police. In the end they made the decision of equal liability for the accident which is totally not fair to me. As the comminsure lower my rating and increased the premium by over $500 and add a imposed driver excess of $1200 on top of the basic excess I chose $850 (total $2050 for the future claims till 2050). I called police today Mar 2019 to try whether I can get the report and footage and police said they can only provide the report number and insurance company can get it with the report number. Police said the only reason they have this policy that the costumer should provide the police report etc which I am unable to get it even I pay for it is because it does cost insurance company to do it. So they just simply identify and decide it’s my fault and increase the price and add imposed excess on my car insurance. I tried the communicate with comminsure many times and even their senior manger and I just have the repeated answer that they don’t obtain and investigate what truly happened - it’s their policy! They won’t truly care who’s fault it should be by getting further evidence and simply make you to pay higher next year. So why should customers stay with them who don’t really care about the best interest of customers! And their customer service is really bad, they only know what the system tells them which I can get all information online myself, they don’t the critical questions that customer asked. So they transfer you to claim department and the transfer the line to the policy department and in the end I still don’t get the answer I want to know. Extreme terrible experience with them!

out that same day to their assessor. The tow truck didn't show but was not the fault of CBA, the towing company had issues but came the following day. Assessor called the same day to advise it will be a total loss/write off. I think CBA called me only a week or less later to advise me of the same assessment then they called again a few days later to process settlement of pay out. No dramas at all, they said they will pay me out and chase it all up with the other parties insurer once its all settled so really no wait times it was great. Assessed, settled and paid out in less than a month so not sure if I just got lucky or other reviewers were unlucky with who they were dealing with. I definitely recommend considering they were also the cheapest for myself compared to other insurers.

otherwise) garaged in a rural area. Comminsure expect you to call them to receive a discount every few years, they won’t apply anything on their own. My car was no longer insured for new for old or market value, i’m a 30+ driver with no claims… I was sick of getting ripped off and decided to swap to third party before purchasing a new car later in the year… Comminsure quoted me $10 a month for this; fantastic. But just 3 months later with no explanation the premium doubles…. Okay? No communication but what do I care it’s $20 sure. Fast forward another 6 months it’s now $26, again no communication.
Got a brand new 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe last week and have insured with Budget. Today I decide to cancel comminsure and am annoyed that it is unable to be done online and instead I have to call and wait on hold; eventually when my call is answered I get 10-20seconds of ?kids screaming/rattling phone noises/voices with no response to my “hello?” Before the phone is eventually answered by a consultant. So unprofessional. 10 years, no claims, and treated like crap throughout. Don’t recommend.

Absolute disgrace. Car was stolen and recovered, waited three months for the ‘repairs’ minor paint damage. Finally picked the car up to find that the missing internal parts hadn’t been replaced. Long wait times on hold, never being able to get through to the team you need to by direct number and being bounced from department to department resulted in me having to accept the lesser amount ($10k) after waiting 10 weeks after the accident. Despite going through the AFCA complaints process which was also going to take another 10 weeks the stress of not having a vehicle and the ongoing costs meant I had to settle and they won. Learnings - know the fine print even when its hard to find, stamp duties aren't include for example, for me hire cars are only for 14 days and capped despite having a people mover. Make sure your policy has every single factory option clearly defined and then if you vechile is rarer go agreed value.
The claim department for CBA insurance, claims that your car modified and we dont pay you even the car is stolen. The car is found and they refuse to inspect it to acknowledge the car is not modified. I highly recommend to avoid using CBA car insurance. Show details

Do not use comminsure – Do not use comminsure!!!!!!Very easy to start a policy, much effort put in to dissuade a claim inc, links that don’t work, 50min wait times then being hung up on, dreadful hold music to encourage hang up, system that doesn’t recognise your keypad entries, endless hand ball loop of one Commonwealth staff to another, on hold then going to nothing… This is what it feels like to deal with a corporation that doesn’t give a s$&t about humanity. Triple charge! – I took out a comminsure policy a few weeks back. Aka Hollard. I provided my credit card for immediate payment and back details for future yearly auto debits. Poor service and long waiting time – Customer service is very poor. I waited about 2 hours to get through their phone to speak to one of the consultant but after 2 hours and 3 minutes ling wait, the phone got disconnect. found myself on hold for well over an hour, which clearly demonstrates a lack of respect for their customers' time. This was exacerbated by the fact that when I did finally get through, the staff often came across as condescending and dismissive of my concerns.
One of the most concerning issues was the lack of communication regarding the handling of my car after it was towed. It remained at the tow truck site for an extended period, untouched, until I initiated contact with them to move forward with the claim process. This level of negligence is simply unacceptable.
Moreover, the entire claims process was riddled with extensive delays. It took an unreasonable amount of time for them to even determine whether my car was a write-off or not, despite providing all necessary documentation promptly. This prolonged uncertainty added unnecessary stress and inconvenience to an already challenging situation.
In conclusion, my experience with CommInsure has been highly disappointing. The combination of poor customer service, excessively long wait times, condescending staff, lack of communication, and significant delays in resolving the claim process has left me thoroughly dissatisfied. As a result, I cannot recommend CommInsure to others seeking reliable and efficient car insurance coverage.

vehicle now for 1.5 months and have used up hire car on both claims. Managed to get a minor extension but Hollard/CBA refusing to extend the hire. Now we'll be stuck without any vehicle and we're a working family with kids in school. Assessors been really good but we have no ETA and when we'll get either vehicle back.
This has been a terrible experience and will be moving insurance companies as soon as we get this resolved.

told that they only cover trip from my home to smash repairer ( even though it is longer trip ) then I wax told I have to arrange Uber or taxi and claim the money back with them.
