Poor customer service
This store must have offered the worst customer service ever! I was offered help almost immediately, I explained I wanted a piece of foam measuring 44 x 78 was shown various expensive options, I then explained it was for a dog bed, the guy then proceeded to take me to the ready made matresses and offer me one which was way too big, again I explained the measurements. He took me back to the foam shelf and showed me something which was very price appropriate and he could cut to size, this is where it went pear shaped, again he asked the measureme...nts, the phone then rang and he answered it, no "excuse me I need to get this" he then served the customer on the phone whilst ignoring me. After about 10 minutes I decided to leave the store. Will I go back to Clark Rubber, Castle Hill? NO!
Perfect customer service - Castle Hill
I ordered a piece foam that I will use in the car so my pugs can look out the window - small amount of money. I requested delivery without the need for a signature because I have mobility issues and miss the courier or postman because I am slow and it is very difficult to get to a post office or anywhere that requires any sort of walking.
The courier company, couriers please, again forgot this and delivered it to one of their pop shops that I cannot get to. Someone from Clark Rubber at Castle Hill went to the pop shop, pickup the package and delivered it to me.
Thank you very much, I will shop there again and will let my friends know how good their customer service is - above and beyond, given it was not your fault.
100% couldnt believe I ordered a smallish item for the in laws in the late arvo and by 6pm it was at my door step...
Amazing. Best delivery time ever I ordered late arvo and was delivered on the same day in the evening. Would definitely recommend Clark rubber ! Nevertheless have I ever had something delivered on the same day! Winning!
Wow. Overnight Delivery.
I ordered static window films on Sunday night and the goods was delivered on Monday 04th September . That's pretty amazing. I compare the static windows from other stores and decided to buy from Clark Rubber.
I have been dealing with the Hobart branch for 10 months now trying to settle a warranty issue, the manager at this branch is hopeless still no satisfaction will not talk to me now .Would not recommend anyone to purchase a pool through this store
Perfect mattress, Excellent Customer Service (Mr. Manoj)
Slept like a log on the medium firm cut to size foam and with a bamboo charcoal mattress overlay. I have spent so much money buying mattresses elsewhere. Would certainly recommend this combination. Thanks to Mr. Manoj at Clark Rubber Hoppers Crossing for looking after me as well.
Buy elsewhere (from people with manners)
Went into Virginia (Brisbane) store to buy white marine vinyl headliner. Rather than measure cut from beyond obvious grease marks the staff member reckoned I should wash them off at home! Then she lays the expensive WHITE vinyl FACE DOWN on a filthy table to measure off my order. I lift the edge to see the grubby black marks everywhere. Took my hundred dollars elsewhere where the guy took great care to look after the product (wiped table down, unrolled face up, rolled face in etc). So... if you want bad attitude AND b-grade service then you know where to go!
unbelievable, pipes were connected wrong?
Pool technician from Clark Rubber Nunawading Store started working on my pool since before Xmax. After almost 2 months and $2000, my pool is still not working. I did everything she asked including equipment and chemicals. And finally found by another technician from another store that the pipes were connected wrong. Unbelievable. It says on the multiport valve that which end needs to be connected to "pump" and which one should be connected as "return". How a pool technician can get this wrong? Very disappointed.
On the nose!
A few days ago I went to Clark Rubber to buy an overlay for my bed. The assistant helped me choose one and I purchased a Comfort Premium Latex overlay. I was unfortunately unprepared for the stench that I encountered when I removed the zip-on heavy duty plastic packaging. When I put it on the bed I expected the smell to dissipate but it didn't and unfortunately despite the extra comfort it provided, I spent a near sleepless night on it. The following morning everything had to be washed: linen, night clothes and anything that had come in contact with it. For several days now it has been airing outside and being brought inside at night. The mattress still smells and so does the overlay.
Excellent customer service
We were so satisfied to have an initial mix up rectified on the same day!! We got our foam mattress home only to realise the wrong one was supplied, however the Hoppers Crossing store came out and swapped it over on the same day!! Best customer service ever!!
couldn’t have helped us enough.. excellent service
Today my wife and I went to the Castle Hill store to look at purchasing some new foam and vinyl for our boat.. We were approached by Daniel who asked us what we needed and wanted to do, he advised us on what sort of foam he would recommend.. He even worked with our budget and sorted us out not to mention cut it all perfectly to our specifications.. The store was quite busy during that time, Daniel was so very apologetic for our patience as people were asking him questions while serving us.... people these days are down right rude....

Rude Sales Person - Extremely Poor Customer Service
I phoned Clarke Rubber in Narre Warren to see if I could get a soft rubber mat I purchased cut. They were reluctant to offer assistance, finally agreed that I should bring it in and 'they would see what they could do'. It turns out i could have cut it myself with a pair of scissors as that is all they did. However, during the process the sales assistant was impertinent and seemed put out by having to do this. I also assisted in cutting the mat as she couldn't reach the width of the mat from her side of the table. i was then charged...$10 for 10 minutes work which I helped to do, and when I asked if they would throw out the off cuts this was going to be a further charge, When I said $10! Her flippant response was 'what did you expect, it to be free'. I said no but I didn't expect it to be $10. Something I think they should have told me either on the phone or before starting the job, as I would have decline the service and done it myself, after all I did half of it myself in the shop. I paid her the $10 and she continued to rudely justify the charge talking to me as if I was a child saying it's her time I'm paying for - really don't you get paid regardless. I have spent hundreds of dollars at Clark Rubber and was looking at purchasing another $100+ product in the next few days. Sorry Clarke Rubber you have lost my business. I suggest you look at your business model and realise retail is about customer service, and if your customers purchase a product from you, part of the service should be to cut it to size and deal with the off cuts yourself v's giving it to a customer to dispose of. Also, train your staff to be polite and courteous to the customer. I wasn't given a receipt either.

Buyers Be Aware
On the 30 th on December I had brought a Pool Cover for my pool, that would never stay on, plus it was starting to rip. The Hobart store not sure if the guy was the owner, but was the worst customer service that I have ever seen in my 50 years. Trying to get out of the warranty, he said it was a small tear, I said well both you and I know with PVC what a small tear turns into, and plus the fact that it does not do what it is meant to do, it is not fit for purpose and I am entitled for full refund, until I had threatens them with consumer affa...irs i would of not got a refund, plus he had the nerve to say to me how will he get his money back, i said that is not my problem, it is up to you to deal with your supplier not me. Avoid at all costs, rude and may not get refunds
Latex mattress topper
Brilliant service! Walked in and was met by a very friendly and helpful assistant who found what I was looking for easily. She enabled me to try before I bought on the bed demonstration. Excellent quality product for a price cheaper than the internet. I like to buy local so all the boxes a big tick!
So disappointed, Buyer Beware. Would not recommend! Bad customer service from the Owner himself!
I bought inner foam lining for colourbond sheets from Clark Rubber in Cannington recently and over $150 for the lot. I bought 2 extra rolls as i presumed i could always return the extra, not used rolls, for a refund or store credit.
I took the extra unused rolls back and spoke to the cashier. The cashier then asked the owner for a refund. After the owner refused to refund the return, i asked if the refund could be given in store credit instead. The owner refused again and we got into a small argument.
After my embarrassing experience, i w...ould not recommend this happening to anyone. BUYER BEWARE that if you buy something from Clark Rubber in Cannington, you are stuck with it. I would be careful buying those pools they advertise as well as it could be a headache returning them if anything happens. BUYER BEWARE OF CLARK RUBBER CANNINGTON'S POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, FROM THE STORE OWNER HIMSELF.
Very poor service
Having to name and shame Clark Rubber Noarlunga SA. We bought an Intex solar blanket on line that the site said was in stock. Travelled 2 hours to collect to find out that that didn't have any stock but it would only be 7 - 10 days and they would call. Fast forward 14 days ... no call. Called them to find "Sorry, it wasn't on the truck. We'll call you when the next truck arrives". Fast forward another month ... no call. Now the "Manager" refuses to talk to us and handballs the problem to junior staff who know nothing about the order. Told it ha...s been dispatched and guess what? ... they will call. Enough of this rubbish. Put in a complaint to Melbourne head office. No worries. The State Manager will call within 24 hours. No he didn't but the store manager did. Tried to blame his staff for the delay and only remembered it was him that took the first call when challenged. The cover will be in Saturday. Told it had better be or we want our money back. Visited the store on Sunday, good day for miracles, it was there. Took six weeks which was normal we found out. No customer service and a culture of downing the other staff when they can. We will be buying our pool stuff online from someone else, thank you.
So damn expensive !!
I can not believe how much a piece of foam is. $88 for a 1m x 2m yoga mat foam and $40 for a small off cut, some other products $60 - $80 PER METER, that is absolutely ridiculous. I found the same yoga mat on ebay for $30. It reminded me of why I've never bothered walking into their store after looking up prices on their website. They would turn a tonne of product over if they just charged reasonable prices. Oh well, greed will keep the customers away.
Got quote to replace 3 x incredibly soft sofa cushions we had purchased from Fantastic Furniture.
Quoted on telephone conversion with Clarke Rubber Castle Hill, to be approx AUD $70.00 per top quality replacement foam cushion, per seat.
No offense but ... wth.
Said I couldn't afford that (entire Fantastic Furniture 3 x seater sofa +AUD $699.00, fully assembled and delivered).
Said would sell me 2nd tier level of (medium density) foam down, being just under AUD $400.00 in total (for all three sofa cushions.
Immediately disappointed because I could see that even though they said it was firm it wasn't as firm as I had expected. ...Came back to store after some hours, and .... I have photos because, honestly, density is, like, still really soft,.... both my husband and I can barely sit on the cushions. I'm sorry but I feel ripped off. Charged AUD$412.00 all up. What about original telephone quote? Who manages this? Now, budget sofa from Fantastic Furniture is REALLY quite expensive, and don't know why the original AUD70.00 per cushion (approx) from Clarke Rubber, Castle Hill, for MAXIMUM density foam wasn't available, three days later. Still, cushions not firm (AT ALL), and could have bought better quality all up, at the end of the day, so really, at the end of the day..... why bother? Just buy quality product and cut Clarke Rubber Castle Hill out of it, and save yourself the trouble. #Nothappy #Didn'tfollowquote #You'rekiddingme
Clark rubber is one of those iconic iconoclastic shops in Australia, it's Reaches back into the family history to at least my grandfather
I remember as a small child going with my father to clerks rubber to pick up some necessary widget that you couldn't get anywhere else
how this shop has survived over 50 years of trading in Australia boggles the mind
I know they've gone through a rebranding as pool shop, but you can still buy your necessary widgets as always
value for money is excellent and the convenience of having Clark rubber in your n...

Questions & Answers
Hi I'm getting quotes for an in ground pool from clarks rubber . Don't know anyone who has one to know how good they are. We would go for the resin panels with a liner and pump etc. it's 3 metres by 7 odd so don't want to waste my money. Could anyone tell me how these pools fair up. Looked at fibre pools too but ten grand dearer. The pool is going to cost me 15000 all in with fitting, fence, finishing off pavers compared with twenty five. But I don't want a dud pool if it's not worth the saving?
Im no expert on pools far from it but if you want a professional job id suggest go to someone who specialises in pools and nothing else. I bought a basic above ground portable pool at a melbourne store recently and the staff had no technical proper knowledge on products were ditzy airheads and too busy to be of any real help.
do not buy your pool from clark rubber because their products are below standard and they do not have any trained competent staff to handle problems.
I wish that I had gone to a pool company because any money saved is spent on trying to rectify the clark rubber pool and that is if you can find trained techician.
if you do not want a dud pool, do not buy it from clark rubber. I have had nothing but trouble with mine, nor do they have any trained support, even if you are willing to pay.
Buy your pool from a pool company, a company that can and will provide follow up service. Clark rubber store personell are underpaid salespeople without any pool expertise,
you deal with them at yourown peril!
