Clarks used to be my go to shoe. It had good quality, was comfortable and looked stylish. But every shoe I bought since 2 years ago jas been crap. The quality is like Kmart. Even Temu would do better than Clarks these days. Really time goodbye to Clarks. Show details

After years of buying Clarks shoes in-store, I was forced to shop online when they closed their Melbourne store. This is where my experience turned sour. I purchased final sale shoes and made an honest sizing mistake – Clarks lists their sizes in UK sizing, and as someone used to US sizing, I ordered the wrong size. The shoes were unwearable. I… Read more

contacted Clarks to request an exchange – not a refund. I accepted their no-refund policy on final sale items and offered to cover all delivery costs both ways. They would have lost absolutely nothing. They still refused. If I had tried these shoes in a physical store, I would accept this outcome. But shopping online means you cannot try before you buy, and refusing even a simple exchange is simply unreasonable. To anyone buying Clarks shoes online: be very careful with sizing, because if anything goes wrong, do not expect any flexibility or goodwill from their customer service team.

I ordered a pair of Clarks Badell Lace shoes in brown while they were on sale. I paid $79.20 for the shoes and $9.95 for shipping. A few days later I received a notification saying the cost of the shoes had been refunded, with no explanation at all. When I contacted customer service to ask what happened, I only received AI-generated email… Read more

responses. These claimed that shipping would not be refunded, even though no product had been sent to me.

After going back and forth with the AI responses, I eventually received a reply from a real person who then refunded the shipping as well.

What makes this more frustrating is that the exact same shoes in the same colour and size have been available to buy online this entire time, but now at a much higher price. They are currently selling for $149.

Overall, the experience felt poorly handled and misleading. The lack of communication and reliance on AI customer service has completely put me off buying from Clarks again.

My son had his Clarke Hurry shoes for 5 months and they split at the front on both pairs. He wore them 3 days a week. Upon returning them to the store of purchase, I was told that this is 'wear and tear' and they wouldn't be able to help me. His Asic runners are still in fine condition and he has never had a pair of shoes fault him. Update: Clarks are working with us to resolve the issue unlike the store that we purchased the shoes from.

Fraud – Fraud, I have to use that word. I bought a pair of shoes for $99, and they advised me that they were not available. However, shoes (my size, to be clear) are still available, now at $119. So, they canceled the purchase over $20??? Pathetic!!!!!

Terrible Quality and terrible customer support – Clark's school shoes quality is terrible now and it's getting worse. Even my daughter cannot use it for 7 months period. I informed to Clark about their bad quality, but the support staff is terrible and they are not helpful at all. Even they said what in third head, not focus on customer. Very bad product and don’t waste your money on this bad product

Perfect – I bought many shoes from its online store. The sizes were perfect and the shoes were as advertised. One time, I bought shoes with a bit bigger size for my husband. So we contacted the company and visited the physical store and changed his shoes to the right size. I highly recommend this brand. Shoes are comfortable. Show details

Parramatta store great customer service – Excellent customer service at the Parramatta store recently. I had some faulty shoe issues and was expecting it to be a hassle to return but they were very helpful and sorted the issue pronto.

The worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The customer service person did not seem to understand the issue at all. First, she replied by explaining why I couldn’t get an exchange for the shoes that were sent incorrectly. The image shows the shoes as brown, but I ordered black shoes using the “Buy this again” button on the Clarks… Read more

website. I even sent her a video showing how I placed the order.

She then said that there is no exchange support at all. I asked whether the return fee would at least be refunded, as the mistake was not on my end. However, she simply replied with the cost of the return, which I already knew because she had previously sent me the return link.

Overall, there was no helpful support provided. DO NOT buy from the website.

Extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Clarks. I placed an order during their Buy 1 Get 1 Free promotion and received an email confirming that my order was successful and being delivered. A week later, without any explanation, the entire order was refunded. I contacted support only to be told that the item had sold out. If I had… Read more

been alerted immediately, I would have had time to organise an alternative. Instead, Clarks chewed up a full week of my timeline and left me without the gift I needed for a birthday. What makes this even worse is that the promotion I purchased under has now ended and Clarks refused to honour the deal or offer any form of compensation.

So I am left with no product, wasted time, and a company that will not take responsibility for its own mistake. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. I will never use them again which is a shame because I have purchased their shoes many times. Not anymore.

Be careful when purchasing Clarks – I bought a pair of Clarks that had thick leather straps. They were advertised as a D fit which is a wide fit. I don’t have wide feet. When I received them I could barely get my feet in the shoes. They were on sale and when I contacted customer service, they refused to accept that the shoes were faulty and that the no return policy on sale items… Read more

Appalling and very upset – If I give 0 I would. Bought 2x pairs of shoes online from their outlet but wanting to return. No confirmation email received initially upon payment, tried to cancel but couldn't and trying to return but their return site does not recognise my order numbers ....which I copied and pasted. Several attempts to get a return going but NOTHING. Do NOT purchase from this outlet, please take hede, absolutely disgraceful behaviour and practice. Show details

Horrible princess school shoes – The princess shoes that are more than 100 aud didn't last more than term.. we are on a fourth week of Term 2 and the shoes are peeled, the tip is broken, the "leather" on the sides has peeled off. I mean I get they are kids but kindergarten kids that are drawing and learning to write how on earth the shoes end up like that? No worth the money at all. Show details

Cr^p- Clarks Craft Run Sandal – First pair came after 4.5 weeks, way more narrow than usual, so much so my toes went on top of each other. The triangle of metal holding the leather bit into my feet just with a few steps. Also noticed the inside seam where the ankle strap joins the sandal had barely enough coverage and would have pulled off in no time. Checked the other seams and… Read more

they were similar. Had to email numerous times to get a return sticker...

Got 2 sizes up because I liked the style but the problems were the same except they were wider in the toe box. However one sandal was significantly taller in the toe box so still had to return, luckily that was with Iconic so return was a breeze. Clarks used to be quality but not any more.

Quality is so poor and the price is ridiculous – I have been buying Clark’s school shoes for the last 10 years and they have always lasted the whole year. The last two years they barely last 6mths before the shoe starts to fall apart and the heel area is so soft and in-supportive. Clarks have obviously changed where they source their materials. The cost continues to increase year on year but… Read more

the quality is dreadful. Not worth the money. Like many others who have had the same experience, you are better to purchase a few pairs of cheaper shoes through the year. DONT BUY CLARKS. WASTE OF MONEY

No better than KMart – I don't buy Clark's school shoes anymore. They are terrible quality and it's getting worse. There is a brand called Activ that is sold at Costco just before school each year - this is a much better shoe than Clark's - and it's cheaper. In general, if you can find a shoe made in Vietnam this is going to be better quality than Chinese made shoes - the best shoe technology is in Vietnam. Also, Clarks are now Chinese owned.

Dreadful lasted one term and a half – Bought a pair of Clarks from shoes and sox for my daughter in Feb 2022. Paid $112. June 2022, noticed the front was starting to split. Took the shoes back to Shoes and Sox Burwood and was told this was normal wear and tear. Didn't even last four months. Show details

Disappointing. Clarks/minecraft collaboration. Only lasted 15weeks. Dont waste your money. Will never buy Clarks again – First year of school shoe purchased from myer, paid full price. shoes only lasted 1.5 terms. 15 weeks. Dont waste your $$. Great marketing, obviously alot of kids are into minecraft but they lack QUALITY. Soles still have alot of tread but the toe of the shoes are worn and coming away (see image). Not worth the money!  Show details

Wouldn’t buy again – I bought leather Clark’s school shoes for my son, thinking I was buying a good quality brand that would last the year. After 1 term the toes are badly peeling and the Velcro on one shoe no longer sticks and they are almost unwearable. I think I’ll stick with cheapies from Kmart next time if I’m going to have to replace them every term anyway! Show details

Horrible customer service and inconsistent shoe size – I have ordered some shoes for my daughter. The size of the shoes was inconsistent with other Clarks shoes. I tried to return them but their processes have worsened. They are now making me pay for the return even though the cost of the shoes was above $60. They delayed the process and in the end it went over the 28 days allowed for the return.… Read more

Also they don't give me a full refund only credit. Stay away from this company. No customer service at all. The customer service person had no empathy and didn't care at all about my situation. I will never buy from them and I will contact NSW Fair Trade as they changed the process for returns without making it clear for people. They make returns cumbersome so customers don't return the items.

Consistently poor quality – For the second year running, our daughters school shoes broke. Last year the leather band holding the Velcro of my younger daughter came off and just a few minutes ago I noticed that the stitching of this years shoes of my older daughter is coming apart at the base of the laces. I think next year I go to Aldi and spend $29.90 and save myself $100 each, how much worse can they be?  Show details

Terrible quality - brown infinity Clark’s school shoes – Very disappointing shoe quality. It has deteriorated significantly since I purchased my eldest daughter’s school shoes in 2015 ( these are still going strong) compared with my youngest daughter’s in 2020- which looked shabby within weeks despite using shoe polish and have lost most of their colour despite hardly being worn due to home schooling in… Read more

2021. Her classmate’s shoes are all of similar poor quality. Clark’s have taken no responsibility at all. My helpful local shoe store showed the rep but despite several emails still no significant response from Clark’s. Unfortunately as they are brown no other company makes them - I will be requesting a change of shoe colour for the uniform - hoping to never have to deal with the disgraceful lack of customer service and poor quality again. Will never buy Clarke’s again.

Disappointing quality for a once great Australian brand who seems to have sold its soul to China – I have persisted buying Clarks school shoes for my two girls, despite being terribly disappointed in the quality drop over the years, because they are Australian. But I no longer think that way now knowing they are made in China. It explains a lot. Both were in Daytona shoes last year. My junior school child scuffed off the toes of both her brand… Read more

new shoes on day 2 of school last year. The sides were fully scuffed by the end of week 2. My senior school child's shoes last better due to less activity but were also scuffed on the sides very quickly. The shoes look terrible and shoe polish only lasts a day or two before it wears off again. If it is really leather, it is the thinnest and worst quality you could ever find. I think it must be manufactured leather, not real leather. Clarks are no better than Betts school shoes now, which is saying something.

This year I am trying another Australian Brand, one that is not made in China. I wish they were made here but that seems to much to ask of our profit seeking at all costs Australian manufacturers.

Hit and miss with quality, inconsistent sizing – First pair of Daytona lasted less than 3 months, soul split in half, shoe repair man said i was sold old stock and this shouldnt happen. Terrible return and shipping – It is free returns for purchases over $60. I bought the shoes for $59. They charged me for return. I paid $25 in shipping to try on a pair of shows that were a terrible fit for a size 10. I tried to cancel it as soon as I ordered, and they said no cancellations so that they can make the process easy for customers. Lol, absolutely not the case. Show details

Terrible quality – I wish I read reviews before I bought Clarks school shoes. Terrible quality shoes which was noticeable after 2 days. I returned it to Myer asking for a refund and apparently they said this is "normal wear and tear" for kids shoes. I honestly don't mind if I have bought a cheap shoes from Kmart or Big W. Not buying Clarks ever again as there is no value for money whatsoever.

Absolute WASTE of money and horrible service – I bought flats, one week after wearing them they start to squeek, first one pair and then the next after anothet. They had not gotten wet or worn in incorrectly. After emailing the head office they told me to "take it to the store for a refund if the shoes were not used" like I had used i mentioned it and it came faulty. But there was no care in the world for the money I spent on it. Show details

Terrible returns policy – Shoes average but I decided to keep three of the four pairs I ordered. Sizing not consistent. As you only get free returns if your return is over $60, and my return was $59.95 I had to pay my own postage. Makes no sense - it’s free to return more?? Antiquated returns process too. Packing quality not great either. Not a patch on Clark’s UK.
