Another Victim Of Collier Homes – Finally Collier Homes got very active. Well not to serve me but to get the final payment. Repetitive phone calls and emails! I emailed them to confirm them all the works have been done. They confirmed me that it was and pushed me to complete the final pay within 7 days. Hang on, WOW! Surprise time from COLLIER!!! house as I got horrible experience with COLLIER through out the entire building process. The thing that I discover can not be even come in my wildest dream ever.

*** The insulation of the entire house was not done,***

*** Door handle came off when I closed the bathroom door.

*** Unevenly fixed cabinet.

*** Entire exposed nails on roof joints left & very poor workmanship.***

*** Scratches all over on new tiles.***

And the list goes on. How can a builder miss the entire insulation of a house and the Construction Manager & Site Supervisor both signs it off as completed.

Collier Homes is just a CIRCUS and I am the one paying for their show.

I don't think any normal person will check the insulation during hand over.

COLLIER confirmed me in writing that the House is completed and signed off by their Site Supervisor & Construction Manager (Really!!!!).

COLLIER also pushed me to make the Final Payment & collect the keys with in 7 days. I send them email to explain these no reply.

Real Estate Agent got tenant ready for me as this is my Investment Property and I am here still paying my Mortgage and can't rent it. This house should be completed before last Christmas. Just think the financial loss I am going through.

I must appreciate that the New General Manager called me & promised me that they will fix it!! But certainly he will not compensate me for my financial loss & hassle.

I will keep everyone posted what happens next and soon will open a Facebook page with all the evidence.

Please don't let yourself be a victim like me and suffer with COLLIER.

Very Happy Collier Homes highly recommended – I recently moved into my new home built by Collier Homes. What I can I say? Like any house construction, there are always going to be things that come up. My only advice to any potential client of any building company is to keep an eye on your build from start to finish. We were onsite at least once a week. And don't sweat the small stuff. Any… Read more ·  1

minor issues which were picked up, were resolved by Collier Homes. The handover process was smooth. The personal gestures like the hamper from the consultant plus another hamper from Collier certainly made the journey worthwhile. I have referred Collier onto my mates and colleagues.

I absolutely love the granite benchtops, the chrome waste drains (not the cheap plastic white kind you get from other project builders) and LED downlights.

The consultant was good to deal with, and was reasonable with my many many requests to alter the house plan and susbequent changes to costings. I found the prestart process very smooth, not painfully long as I had expected.

Collier honoured the maintenance period of 6 months,...even down to the very last day. Very friendly, prompt and professional.

Can’t wait to move in !!!!!! – Thank you Collier Homes! Our slab went down in the last week of April and the brickwork is due to be completed in the next few days!!!! them. Their “Settler” display home has the fixtures and fittings that are included in the Collier Collection package so it was good to see what would actually be installed in our house.

Pre Start was really fun however it was a lot of decisions in one day so we were glad we had done our homework! We didn’t realise at the time but our plans were being amended while we were in the Pre Start appointment. We had started the day with electrical and plan changes and then moved onto colour selections etc. At the end of the day our Pre Start lady had a new set of plans for us to check, correct and then take home with us.

The admin process was fairly painless, there were a few delays caused by the plans needing to be reviewed by the engineers after the shire made us add an additional window to the front of our house that we didn’t really want but other than that it all went pretty smoothly.

Overall we are really happy with the service Collier Homes has provided so far, fingers crossed the roof goes on before the rain starts!!!

We would highly recommend Collier Homes! – We engaged Collier Homes by reputation. First day walked into their office and was personally welcomed by Mr and Mrs Amara. They listened attentively to our requirements, concerns and expectations. They made it personal. Our first home was ultimately completed and delivered on time. Collier Homes was easy to deal with, they were autonomous. We would definitely engage them again if opportunity arises. We would highly recommend Collier Homes!  Show details

Collier Homes under new owners provide a more personalised service – I have built with Collier Homes twice: a triplex development when it was still owned by Homes Australia prior to 2016, and my existing residence under the new brand owner Dario Amara. My experience with Homes Australia was quite disappointing. Just reading some of the negative reviews, I can see the constructions finished prior to 2016. When… Read more

I was looking for a builder to design and build my new residence, I decided to try the NEW Collier Homes under the management of Dario. His approach is totally different from the previous owner. They provide a very personalised service. For them, your home is not just a roof over your head - it is all about the resident as an individual. The team is great to work with. I would highly recommend Collier Homes.

Good value house – Dealing with Gary, the consultant, makes the entire construction process smooth and easy. He is a very experienced sales consultant who knows exactly what investors want. He deals promptly with the council on issues and queries and also provide us with smart alternatives on requested changes raised by council. The entire project took merely 7 months which is very impressive!  Show reply

Never again – Frustrating to say the least. They couldn't get the plans right, bank had to ask three times for documents. They sent the wrong draw down schedule to the bank, ran out of face bricks, ran out of sand twice, brickies blame supervisor, supervisor says brickies didn't tell him the needed sand. Install door frame the wrong way, I had to tell brickies.… Read more

Missed a power point in bedroom, plumbing installed but clips coming undone and hanging in ceiling, site supervisor doesn't communicate, sending out requests for payment when work isn't complete. Delay after delay, things are becoming a joke. Not to mention 2 water meters stolen as they failed to protect them! Site works started in July and only just got the tin on the roof! It taken 6 months to get this far! this is my 5th build and I've never had such poor customer service, delays and just a poor work ethic. I may get a finished house one day.

We have been Very Happy...... Until now ! – We love our Home well designed for your large family, 5 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Alfresco, theater room etc. Unfortunately, we are now having some areas needing repair. We have sent a number of emails back and forth and Collier has sent maintenance company to investigate and attempt to fix. However, now it appears the problem is the worst case. (concerns water) We will keep you up to date with the outcome and update review

Collier couldn't careless in the end. Apparently it's ok for a shower to leak through the tiles into the walls.

Thanks for a nice home – We were recommended by our friends who have built with Colliers. consultant was fantastic and it was never to too much to ask for with our constant mind changing. Every time we wanted to make changes the design and costings was always done within days. We were working with 2 other builders at the time and both made us wait at least 2 week just to have changes made so having this speedy service and was just great.

As we are not interior decor type people our pre-start administer was very helpful in suggesting color options etc.. She was also building her family home with Collier so that was comforting to know.

Our Slab got laid just before Christmas and currently its locked up and the supervisor reckons we will get the keys in a month. Cant wait!!! Given some of the stuff you hear out there about massive delays in construction we are very happy with the construction process of our home.

Very sorry to read some of the bad reviews but it really has been awesome process for us.

Thanks Collier Homes!

Very Happy – I found Collier Homes to be excellent, I have built many homes including building as an owner builder a number of times, as this home was to be my last I wanted a very high specification and had specific ideas on what I wanted, fortunately I was not restricted to a standard Collier plan and was able to develop my ideas and product selection into… Read more

the new home.

The workmanship is in my view very good, it has been 10 months now since I moved in and with the exception of one cracked tile and a door bolt that was replaced the rest of the home is perfect.

While I found the Collier Collection specification very good, I did upgrade many items such as induction hotplate and painted gloss cabinet doors, two ovens, etc so I guess I have a higher than usual specification however I am just glad I had the option to do so.

As this is my last home (well that's my intention) it is unlikely I will build again. I recommend to others to liaise closely with the builder particular in the administration stage, during the frequent updates provided on the progress it became apparent that the shire seem to have their own interpretation of the plans which seems to take more weeks than necessary before allowing the builder to built.

Overall very happy, thank you Collier Homes.

Warning! Do not waste your money with Collier Homes! – Do not build with Collier Homes!!! If you have signed up with them, you should keep close attention to the progress of each stage! We had read the negative reviews before signing up however decided to go ahead as the Sales Person did such an excellent job and spent numerous months with us on our plan and requirements. However, as soon as the… Read more

contract was signed, problems after problems!

• Site Supervisor does not provide timely updates and at times no response to messages.

• Pantry was of poor workmanship, not aligned, wrong sizing, and not flushed to the bulkhead as per plan.

• After the 4th time ripping out the pantry we still had issues. How many times does a Cabinet Maker need to rip his out before getting it right? After the 5th attempt the pantry is fixed even though not of the same as per their display. Now we are left with holes inside the pantry which they have tried to conceal.

• We were assured before signing up with Collier Homes that they take great pride in their workmanship and that we would expect the same quality as per their Display homes. I could have gotten a better finish from pre-packed cabinets from Ikea! Worse of all, our kitchen cabinet is 95% identical from one of their display home. We selected to upgrade to the Collier Collection with the specification of ‘deluxe’ cabinets. Deluxe we didn’t get, but substandard we got instead!

• The overhead cabinet for the fridge recess was installed on a slight angle. We don’t know how many times they need to pull this out and yet still not fixed.

• Ensuite shower frame installed on an angle. Tapers narrowly towards the wall

• Window frame and one door frame was dented and was still installed. We had to point this out to the Site Supervisor.

• Site Supervisor went on holiday (day of our Practical Completion) and didn’t even advise us who we can contact while he is away. We had to ring Head Office and even leaving messages with this ‘so-called’ other supervisor, no return of phone calls.

• We made many attempts to contact Head Office, left numerous messages for the Construction Secretary to call us but still nothing. Reception just kept saying she is busy. Well… is our house not important enough to even return our call? We have now left messages for GM to call us and yet nothing. It’s almost a week after Practical Completion. We have sent them the Independent Building Inspection Report with things to fix around the house and yet nothing is done, not one phone call from any of our many left messages… does anyone at Collier Homes care?

• Collier Homes ad on their website for FIFO is… “FIFO Workers! Collier have developed a worry free, efficient process to assist you in building your home while working away”. Well, one of us worked in the Oil and Gas industry and trust me, I would say to all the FIFO workers, you will be making the biggest mistake building with Collier Homes! You need to be checking your house every 2-3 days as they constantly makes mistakes. Their tradies are not up to scratch with their work. We had our fridge recess bricked to the wrong size and if we were not there to tell the Tradies and leave till it’s too late, we would have ended up with recess for 220L fridge!

• The Sales Person was the only positive experience we had with them. We were assured that the quality we see at their display homes will be the quality we get. However, this is not the case. Their workmanship is substandard and lack of ownership.

• Contract signed in Nov 2013, Pre-start completed in Jan 2014, slab down in July 2014, it’s now mid March 2015 and yet we are still waiting for someone to get back to us after Practical Completion. Collier Homes is not handling our Master WIR shelves, tiling, carpets, painting, cross over soakwell and driveway paving and 14 months later (and counting) we only just managed Practical Completion. Since it has been almost a week and no one has bothered to return our phone calls, we are extremely frustrated and dissatisfied with Collier Homes throughout the process that we believe everyone should hear from our experience before signing up with them.

So for those out there who have not signed up with them, please take note of the last few reviews below and really reconsider! The Sales People are nice however the buck stops there!

Once we have done our handover (as I foresee more issues to arise between now till then), I will definitely write a continuation of my review detailing all the other issues and frustration dealing with Collier Homes so to warn others!

Finally, do not believe in their Kwikstream’s 7 Step Process. It’s unachievable by Collier Homes.

To be continued…

Avoid Like The Plague / Nightmare ! – We decided to build with Collier after repeated assurances by salesman that Collier offered excellent standards, trades and materials. The decision was not taken lightly but the right boxes were ticked. The price was higher than we expected, even higher than the options we looked at, but we were going to get quality, you get what you pay for,… Read more

right ? Pre start was confusing, the person didn't know more than we did, and in fact took several trips out of the meeting to confer with others at Collier as she was not 100% sure of what she was selling, what we wanted. However all seemed good by the end of the meeting. Site works started slowly, Supervisor was not really good in the communication department, and work stopped and started and was not really what we expected.

However once the pad was laid work progressed well until some faults were noted. These were advised to the Supervisor who said they would be corrected, but these were never done, and some overlooked as the build had gone past any rectification point. It appeared trades were allowed to come and go as they pleased, their work was not monitored or regulated for finish or quality, and some trades were outwardly not up to the task of what they were supposed to do. As the build progressed things got further out of hand and worse. The State Manager ( if you can call him that ), was contacted with the concerns we had, and most contacts were not even replied too.

Offers were made for this " Manager " to either contact us or view the issue's for himself. No offers were taken up, no replies received regarding correction of the faults. By this stage we could not believe anything being said by the Supervisor, even the written words he supplied were not accepted by his employer and the trades did not have a good word to say about him either. The salesman we had, great character, great charm, however it worked out he was spineless and full of it, he would not get involved in the problems we had after he got the deal signed. He stepped back and quoted " he had done his job ". In short once the house was underway we had no control over the quality of the build and the salesman, the supervisor and the manager didn't give a care either !

In the end we ended up moving into our house ( I point out it's not considered a home ) months late, at our further expense. On a scale of 0- 100, i'd give this builder maybe 0% for quality, 0% for caring, 0% for communication skills, 0% for delivering the house they promised and for which we paid for, 0% for control of their sub contractors and maybe, just maybe 5% value for money. The 5% value for money is given as they have taught us a lesson, never trust a builder that issue's contracts in their favour only, that does not employee their own build staff and will not accept responsibility for the faults their trades deliver that the customer has to pay for. In short, would have liked an happy ending, however I think using this builder is more akin to a terrible nightmare that one cannot understand or feel until it's too late.

Please bear in mind we were told this builder builds 200 - 300 houses a year, yet we don't see that many good reviews They get one star as this is the lowest default rating. They should get none ! I would rather have all my teeth pulled with no pain killers than use this builder ever again ! To be honest, did not like a single thing about the process, the experience, the build, the quality or the final product. An apology, or even some intent to put things right may have gone a long way, however this will never be forthcoming. Suggest anyone dealing with these people tape everything that is said and promised ! You may still not get what you pay for, but at least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing what sort of people your dealing with.

Any repairs done not done correctly, wrong hardware supplied, super poor communication skills, lack of quality, lack of respect for the customer.

Wrong choice!!!! – Beware Customer!!! Don't ever go with this builder. They don't even know how to design a house-plan and they are into construction business!!! Unfortunately we had already signed the contract before knowing this glitch that cost us arm and a leg!!! Their design simply didn't comply with the council after the submission of the plans and builder… Read more

confidently argued that it's not their mistake!!! We talked to the council directly and learnt that builder should have known how to calculate the driveway gradient calculation before submitting the plans to council. Despite sending a table of calculation from the council to the Builder, design analyst from Collier was unable to determine the right calculation. We, the customer couldn;t back out since we had signed the contract with these guys and had to pay a huge money for their fault. Had it been $500-$1000, it would have been ok with us but can you believe we paid eleven grand for their mistake!!!To come out of the contract it was costing more than this so thought we will better stay with them.We also lost rent for about 4 months as our investment property was getting built by them.Sales consultant was very nice in talking only before signing the contract and gave us a rosy picture of

their quality of building. Pre-start adminstrator was inexperienced, We said one and she understood something else. When we went thru the pre-start document for our signatures we found numerous errors and pointed out to her. There were a lot of mistakes during the construction phase. Supervisor was so slow to top it up. Sometimes he was not picking the phone when we desperatley wanted him to talk to us. Sometimes he used to be rude over the phone. There were problems like plumbing leak, uneven paving of the diveway, not of good quality at all, chipped bricks here and there, poor clean ups, fridge and dishwasher recess not upto the std height. To add to this there was robbery during construction phase of the kitchen cabinet doors and drawers..Countless Emails and calls made to a very poor attitude supervisor, we were totally fed up with these guys. The manager of Collier was so head-strong all thru. Wouldn't agree his/his team's mistakes. They had installed a cracked granite bench top thinking we wouldn't notice it but we did. The concrete slab also had a big crack during the construction phase. They took one year to complete our house and now we moved in finally but still have problems here and there like shower screen eakages, kitch drainage leaks etc etc. It's in maintenance period now and their response to our problems is as usual very slow. My sincere request is to avoid this builder or if you are already with them then just be observant of every minute thing around the house!

One more problem encountered 2 days ago, leaking ceiling!!!!

Problems continue....

Biggest Mistake Ever – All wet area tiling was incorrect, most of the falls in the laundry, ensuite and bathroom fell the wrong way which meant we had water heading out our doors instead of going down the waste water drains like it should. in the roof was not installed correctly, Crack in ceiling. elctrical plugs all different heights, sliding doors not closing correctly, windows not square to window frame, sagging in ceiling, water damage to interior wall and cubourds from plumbing leak, poor clean up, Paving of the diveway has sunken and broken away, site supervisor never contacted us through out the build. Plaster work looks shocking when the sun comes up, air con vents are not square to anything. Render to the front of the house had different shades. Cabinet doors hung wrong, impractile cuboards which they wont fix and looking at the plan there is no information on how they should or souldn't be, in the dich washer recess i could put my hand into the double wall cavity, behind fridge recess the roof was open so you could see the insulation in the roof ( no ceiling,

Collier however did come to rectify most of these issus, they tried to cut corners when fixing the falls in the wet area floors which they ended up doing correctly but it cost us as we were not in the country at this stage, they worked on the house on Friday, the house was robbed Friday night, boths cars and goods to the value of roughly $60 000 without the price of the Vehicles. No forced entry no finger prints no nothing.

Site supervisor never contacted us about the different stages of the house, he had poor attitude everything seemed too hard for him, wouldn't listen. Ste supervisor continuously said things were done to standards but never bought the Australian Standards with him to prove this as requested throughout the build.

We still have issues arrising and trying to get it sorted is very difficult with Collier. It is the biggest mistake of our lives builing with collier.

If you elect to build with Collier get a third party inspector for the building process from start to finish i would hate for someone to go through what we have gone through. The layout of the house was what we wanted but should have taken their plan to another builder. everything

We fine it very difficult to comprehend some of the negative reviews on this website as Collier always sorted out any problems we had.

Having built before we certainly can say that Collier is a company to does care about their customers and reputation. Every time we had a problem it was always rectified very quickly and efficiently.

This is the most important thing for us and I would imagine so for any one else looking to build.

In fact we are have now signed up for another build with Collier construction due to begin in a couple of months time.

We Like to thank the Collier Team and look forward to another exciting build.

Collier Can? No way Collier Can't! – I wish I could give them zero stars! Avoid using Collier Homes at all costs. They are quite possibly the worst builder in Perth. We took handover of our house in 2007 and have had nothing but problems since. The only decent member of their staff was the sales person, but he works on commission so has to be good or no one would build with them.… Read more

Once we signed on the dotted line it all went down hill. We had 4 building supervisors (2 of which never even made contact with us) during the 7 month building process and were told by a couple of tradies that Collier has problems keeping supervisors. Building was really slow (but we built in the boom so that was to be expected), and they would not give us an estimated completion date until I rang the supervisor in tears asking for a date because we were renting and had to give 3 weeks notice on the rental and couldn't afford to pay a mortgage and rent.

We had no gas for the first 2 weeks that we were in the house because they had ordered the wrong gas manifold for our gas meter. We are apparently in a low gas pressure area and because we have instantaneous hot water we needed a gas meter that cost an extra $700. Took them 2 weeks to get it installed and then about a week for it to be commissioned, then the plumber had to come back to connect all the appliances.

We moved in in July, so the place was freezing cold with no heating and no hot water - not much fun with 2 small children. We had no door handles, no bathroom or toilet doors, half the light fittings were hanging out of the ceiling (they relocated a kitchen light and never came back to repair the hole that was left), no downpipes and no exterior painting. The brickpaving was delayed because the paver's wife had a baby. Within a few days of handover all our drains and sewerage systems backed up because they forgot to install an airlock in the pipes. At pre-start we had moved the location of the washing machine, by swapping the location with the laundry sink.

The pre-start co-ordinator failed to also relocate the power point for the washing machine which was left above the laundry sink on the opposite side to the washing machine, meaning we needed to run the cord above the sink. They tried to blame this on us saying that we should have picked this up before we signed the plans at pre-start. After much arguing they sent a sparkie to install a new power point. None of our walls are square and the plaster at the base of the walls bulges out. Our hallway plastering is dreadful and really shows up badly when afternoon sun shines up the hallway.

Last winter our sunken home theatre started to go mouldy because they had failed to waterproof the external wall. I assumed since they were at fault they would glady replace and/or repair our damaged furniture and carpet. I was wrong! They argued about it until I threatened to take them to court.

Last night I discovered that there is a problem with the plumbing to the ensuite shower because the shower tiles are cracked and the wall in the room on the otherside has soft mushy plaster! I dread having to have another arguement just to get it fixed.

There are so many other faults I could list but I fear collapsing the product review servers with the number of problems. Basically they use really poor quality fittings (taps, faucets, cupboard door hinges have all fallen apart) and charge a lot for them. Wish we had gone with a cheaper builder and paid for upgrades rather than going with a builder that included "quality" fittings. Collier Homes have tainted the building experience for us. I fear that when we come to sell our house we won't get what we want due to the poor quality we received from them.

The most remarkable thing is that the Collier Homes have completed our house in five months. We are living in the house since a month and filling very satisfied. Value added guidance during the initial stage of creating and planning our dream home and project management for early hand over of house. Not observed so far

A small problem at the end of build – Slab down 29, March. Progress has been great until a problem with a kitchen window. Told that Bi-Fold were too expensive (Found out later that their window supplier does not do Bi-Fold windows !!) Went for two sliding in the kitchen to Alfresco. Major problem with the servery bench, a missunderstanding between us, Sales Rep, Pre start lady (Who is… Read more

very good) and the construction department. The finish was NOT what we had expected and now it looks like we have to supply a new window and remove the installed window (We have changed to Bi-Fold now) This has held everything up as we were not far of finished. I gather it will be worth it when finished. As long as we are still married !!! Build process was very quick. The way the contractors do not totally finish the job off. Light fittings hanging out of the ceiling !!

Crappy builder – We got shafted big time. The workmanships (of most trades) were absolute rubbish and there was a number of big mistakes. As for the supervisor, he was a lazy and useless jerk, and a hipocrite too. Everything they said in their brochure were BS, not worth the paper they're printed on. The construction took a lot longer than what was promised and… Read more

it was an absolute nightmare for us, I was litterally on the edge of a nervous breakdown. This is the biggest and most stupid mistake I've ever made in my life, ie. to build with Collier Homes, and it will take us a long time to recover from it. We should have listened to other people and stayed away from Collier Homes.

Shonky tradies and crappy workmanships. Made big mistakes. Using inferior products. Lazy and grossly incompetent supervisor. Taking too long to complete the build.

Public Beware!! – Where to start...well we had one brickie do all the brickwork that took over 6 months to get plate level. we had 5 building supervisors, the house started in may 2006 with handover in nov 2007, single storey, the tiling in the bathrooms was wrong to the point where they used the wrong tiles and the grout lines did not line up...terrible! and after… Read more

4 years of complaining to them about our back doors which keep losing their rollers..i decided to get a building inspection done and it seems that the lintel collier put in was too small for the load across the back span of our house, therefore we have a 15mm sag in the centre of the door span which is putting pressure on the rollers hence the constant collapse. Now because of the report Collier must replace the lintel across the back of the house which means the back pretty much has to come off including the alfresco which runs the full length. Our roof isnt strapped down exhaust fans and oven are not flued through the roof, rising damp issues etc etc..My suggestion to anyone building through collier homes...pay the $595.00 and get an independant building inspection done before you take handover and pay them the final payment. Then another one before your 5 year warranty is up!! the initial sales consultant was helpful but once signed up that's it... poor workmanship, dodgy trades, high turnover of supervisors, do not want to fix their mistakes unless pushed

Happy With Our New Home – The salesman was really helpful and really gave us the space to decide how we wanted our first home to look like. We originally went with the Stanford design but after much discussion with family and the expert advise from the salesman, we changed it to a once off design which we were very happy with. The prestart lady was really helpful and… Read more

always kept us informed of what was happening with our shire approval, our prestart choices, etc. Our building supervisor got the job done. We did have a bad experience with his lack of communication, handover and some promises that took him a while to keep but the workmanship overall was good. happy with the house they built, fittings was really nice and only took them about 6-7 months to build it, of course that many vary greatly with the time you build and the number of jobs that they have at the time Probably happens with every builder but some of the carpeting was not laid very well and needed to wait a while for them to fill in chips on windows, walls, powerpoints, etc.

Do yourself a favour, build with someone else! – Salesperson great, with a good knowledge of the building industry and process, however the good stopped with him. Easiest just to list the problems; - Poor brickwork. We could fit our arms through the gaps between the bricks. Assured that the plaster would fix this. Resulted in a weak structure and untold cracking in the walls. - Uneven slab.… Read more

Repeatidly asked them to fix it. Resulted in air pockets under the wood floor which now bounce when you walk on them.

- Walls not a right angles, which further puts cabinetry, doors and tiling out of alignment.

- Bathroom faucets installed that don't reach the bath???

- Plumbing not done correctly in bathroom, water seeping through walls to living area.

- Hot water system installed in wrong location, resulting in extra run on pipes to correct location, now extremely low water pressure and a long wait for hot water.

- Down pipes installed over an external feature wall.

- The General Manager never returned one of my phone calls.

- The house took 12 months to build. At the end we got a verbal apology and a crappy keyring for our $300k investment

All in all terrible workmanship and problems still arising from this. Good salesperson. Terrible workmanship, poor communication, little care factor

Quility home – Hi, my wife and I meet with [name removed] from Collier homes to help us design our new home. We found him to be friendly honest and upfront with all the cost. There were no smoke and mirrors like alot of the other sales people try. He helped us put together our dream house design on our small budget by taking out the extra things like… Read more

floor and window coverings that builders will charge a Hugh mark up on. We saved heaps by doing them through private contractors. Once the building process started it only took 4 months to build. The quality was very good.

There were things that needed fixing after we moved in, but Colliers Building supervisor [name removed] was more than helpful to fix any problems we had so in the end we were left with a beautiful dream home. Very fast builder, Quality fixing and fittings some of the trades people were a bit messy

OK – Generally speaking we are happy with the quality of the work done and love the house now that we have done so much to it to make it a home but we can't help but be disappointed that Collier homes upon seeing our original review via 'Product Review' went straight to the threat of legal action instead of contacting us to sort out the issues we had… Read more

amicably. Many attempts by us through the contact of the Supervisor to get things installed/fixed failed. Obviously we had a problem so why not sort it out without court intervention. We bought a product and here is our review. There is nothing illegal when all information is correct. - The design of the house was very much the reason for choosing Collier Homes as well as the $200,000.00 cash back promotion which claimed that 1 in 100 home purchasers during the promotion period would indeed receive that amount of cash back to be taken off the mortgage.

- The salesman we dealt with in the

beginning was efficient and friendly. He always responded to emails or

phone messages and always carried through with verbal promises. A very

good front man.

- The house plan/design was just what we were

looking for, which was that it had internal theatre and a great

kitchen. Also the quality of the fittings was high.

- Generally overall we were satisfied with the quality of the workmanship.

- Helping us to move in even though the house was not finished because

the final date that was given to us for moving in came and went.

- Supervisor friendly in his attitude. - In response to the threat of legal action that has been placed on us due to a review we put on web site 'Product Review" on the 23rd December, 2008. We have been accused by Collier Homes as giving quote 'false and misleading' information on Product Review. After consulting with my Barrister I have chosen to amend as requested the previous review which I concur did need attention as it was far too generalistic.

- The following information is correct and does not contravene the terms and conditions on the Product Review site. The following is not 'misleading, deceptive or likely to mislead or deceive' as it is an actual account of when we moved in and when things were finally installed/supplied.

- The reason we needed to move in before the house was finished was

because the final date of 26th August, 2008 (after many other dates)

that the Supervisor gave us came and went and we had no where to go, as we had organised with our rental company to cancel our lease. We even added 2 weeks onto the final date that we were given as a

buffer but it still wasn't enough. We had to find a new tenant as

otherwise we would be paying rent and mortgage. We were

grateful that Collier Homes allowed us to move in early and we knew we

had to wait for some items to be installed, but 3-8 months later? Even

now we are still waiting for the inline ventilation system for the

internal theatre but now with threatening legal action don't know when we will get that as they are not returning our calls (3 calls to supervisor and 2 calls to management that went to message bank; I left messages but no response, since they sent us threatening letters).

- Throughout the 8 months after moving in we had been in contact with the Supervisor many times, to inform him of things to be installed/fixed. We contacted him via email, phone and face-to-face at the site in question. Still things were not getting done. His comments were 'I thought that had been done'. Isn't that one role of the Supervisor to make sure things are getting done. The Supervisor thought the insulation had been installed. He questioned us with 'Are you sure?'. The Supervisor did not reply to emails. Only when we chased up an email with a phone call did we get a response. Our fear was now that we were in and Collier Homes had received their money we were now not so important and would take their time in finishing the house.

- The email address we were given for the Supervisor by the Supervisor

did not have @collierhomes.com.au in the address but instead a bigpond

address. All dealings with other Collier staff gave us an address with

the name Collier Homes in the address.

- On several occasions when things were installed other items were damaged which required another trades person

to come back. Kitchen draws where damaged when another draw was fixed and installed. A foot went through the ceiling when the insulation was

installed. The cabinet maker didn't even know that over head cupboards

above the fridge needed to be made. It was us who showed the cabinet maker with plans and organised the installation. The Supervisor was informed about the cupboards but had not organised it.

- Since we moved in prior to the finalisation of the house we agreed that we would not to use the master key so trades people could still access the house. We weren't real happy with the idea as we both worked full time but we accepted it. Now during the next 2 weeks no one came to the property to fit/fix anything. Why not? After that 2 weeks of no one coming we decided to use the master key so no trades people could enter while not there. What we did do, is if we knew they were coming we left a door open which we told them about or arranged to meet them there. At no point were we unobliging as it's in our best interests also.

- How long did we wait for some items to be installed/fixed after moving in 6th September 2008:

> insulation - Beginning of November 2008

> flyscreens - Middle November 2008

> o/head cupboards - 24th September 2008

> inline air circulation and wiring for internal theatre - as yet not supplied

> spa motor - 16 Feb 2009 - and was not working after installed as an air hose was not fitted inactivating the on/off switch within the pump

> power socket cover - as yet not supplied

> kitchen draws not able to be closed due to oven being refitted and

placed in crooked and gas fittings behind draws being relocated to

impact on draws closing - Sept 08.

- Our qualms with the workmanship is the quality of the exterior/interior painting (runs on doors and frames, over painting on shelves, patchy front door), external rendering (patchy), splash marks on face brick, cracks in slab that are now cracking laundry tiles, all wet areas except master suit on one side of the house were 1/2 meter out when the slab was laid leaving areas of concrete to be filled and leveled (which are all now cracked leaving a hollow sound when it is walked upon), trades people coming to fix a light socket only to throw the broken one in the empty block next door, hole punched through ceiling from a foot while insulation being installed, lunch time rubbish from trades people being stuffed into areas that are to be later filled with concrete which we pulled out, scratches on the kitchen bench from trades people even though they are covered in a blue contact like protective cover, gaps between slab and window frames giving access to cold winds, hot & cold water in the kitchen and master suit round the wrong way, so the external/internal taps and toilet use hot water and oven refitted and placed in crooked stopping the bottom draw from closing (left in this condition) also rangehood lights wiring not secured causing lights to not work which when examined showed that the wiring had not been connected correctly.

ALL THESE TRADES PEOPLE/SUPERVISORS ETC. REPRESENT COLLIER HOMES

- Although many enquiries were made during the building process period and after, I was told that they (a Collier employee each time) did not know any details about the 1 in 100 promotion draw date. Although my ticket states that "the promotion commences on the 3rd of October 2007 for a maximum period of 365 days" and that "all entrants will be notified of the draw date and location and are welcome to attend." we are still in the dark and have not received any notification and have thus so far found no reference to it on their website since they commenced their new promotion (stone benchtops).

Almost Complete – I've written a number of reviews about Collier during my building process. I am now at the end of the process and at the handover stage. Unfortunately things really seem to slow down at the end - I… Read more

can't help but get the feeling that they are losing enthusiasm in getting a few minor things finished, but now want final payment without advising me whether they intend on finishing things off if I pay them.

The accounts people are a little too blunt and it's getting harder and harder to reach my building supervisor. Overall result Brickwork is average and things are not exactly square.

Colliers can, Colliers Does and Colliers Did – Looking at building our third home took us over 2 years of searching for the right builder, after the first two homes we built we were trying to be very cautious to say the least due to the previous homes being substandard. In those 2 years of searching we got very tired of meeting inadequate and unskilled sales reps at display homes. All that… Read more

changed when we met Iain. This guy was amazing and we cant speak highly enough of him. He is the executive in-house consultant for Collier Homes. We had our own design and he provided further advise to us and did some alterations and we now have the perfect house for our requirements.

The final quotation we received was better than any other builder and saved us money for the extras we all want when building a home. The most important point in our new home was the kitchen, we now have a 7 meter stone kitchen bench top with waterfall ending and 16 soft closing draws which we would never have been able to purchase with any other builder (this was one of the extras)

Built in record time (under 6 months) and we have not had any issues at all. We never even met our first supervisor as the building was coming along very nicely there was no need, we only contacted the second supervisor [name removed] 2 weeks prior to handover to discuss progress and the handover date as it was getting close to Christmas.

We now have handover and could not be happier. The best Christmas present we could wish for.

Thank you [names removed] and all the staff whom we never got to meet who assisted in building our new home.

Merry Christmas to you all and we wish Collier Homes and all the staff a fantastic new year as you deserve it. Everthing they did was of a high standard

Terrible – Advice to everyone who is considering building a home and would hope to get good customer service, good quality product and helpful staff DO NOT BUILD WITH COLLIER HOMES. rating came less than 1, Collier would get a (-1 extremely poor). Worst building experience I have ever had. I will be doing everyting possible to make sure no one I know builds with Collier Homes and that will cost Collier a bit :) The only good thing about this company is the design of the houses, which I altered. Prestart was a nightmare, staff member even refussed to help us by providing a tape measure while in the prestart meeting. You basicly have to be a professional builder, because to be a prestart representative you have to have no brain and just know how to read and write. Don't expect any help from the prestart meeting. The Lady was very rude and walked out while we were talking to her. Supervisors do not return your phone calls. Don't bother calling the office for anything, because they will refer you to the supervisor (Who doesnt return his calls and is not contactable!!). Office staff promising to get thigs sorted out and to contact you right away, and then failing to do so, because they've gone on 2 weeks leave and no one else can help you until they get back.

Excellent – This was the second home we have built so we had learned a lot from our first experience. We chose Collier Homes because we had a specific house in mind that we wanted. of things that weren't standard elsewhere. I don't think I could ever build a standard plan again after getting exactly what we wanted and for the same price as going off the plan. We didn't go into the decision to build thinking it would be hassle free and we certainly had our trials, but Collier built us a beautiful house. Very flexible and well priced. The sales consultant was very helpful and had a lot of knowledge and advice about building that he passed on to us and treated our design as if it were his own. Most sales people in other builders we have dealt with in the past only relayed information from their office and didn't have much technical knowledge but the Collier consultant drew and priced all the changes for our house and was quick at getting back to us. The supervisor dealt with us personally and met us on site whenever we wanted to discuss concerns. We unfortunately changed supervisor half way through the build and there were some delays with the brick layers who were very slow, though they did a great job in the end.

Good – Aside from pre start which my wife was really looking forward to and a 2 week wait on the brickies starting after the slab was poured the house moved on at a good pace and we got in exactly when the rep said we would, 11 months from signing ppa to handover. didn't realise that was for construction only. Our toilet roll holder did fall off and some of the paving did need fixing up. I thought it all went well, reading some of the other reviews I can't believe its the same builder. I'm guessing this site is more for the ranters and people who want to vent. If all the build experiences were bad there would hundreds on here. The saleswoman was A1. She drew our plan overnight as we had gotten close to signing with another builder. This was surprising as we waited almost 5 and a half weeks to get a plan and costing back form the other builder. We didn't even want to start anything again because our enthusiasm was lacking at the long wait. However she was able answer some questions that the other rep couldn't and we soon thought it was worth a shot. She came up with a one off on their delux spec and the price was good enough for us. Pre-start was a bit of a let down after the initial service but when we couldn't answers from there we just contacted our sales rep and she got us the answers virtually straight away, she even informed us when our slab was booked in for
