general. There may be areas where you may be OK with the bait smell but generally, my wife would pick up the scent and ask me to remove it! 2. The adhesive really doesn't work but I imagine its weak because they don't want you to strip off plasterboard or paint from wooden surfaces I would recommend using blutack in place of the adhesive. 3. The packaging has a warning to wear protective gloves but no way can you remove the strong seals in place over the bait without taking them off. I tried a pair Ansell's and really, there is no way to get a good grip without taking them off and peeling at least half of the strip before trying again with gloves on. 4. While strips are smaller than the other baits, the brown bait content is very visible against a white/beige wall surface or light coloured floor so while certainly less conspicuous, you can also argue it isn't.

Summary: The baits do work but I would recommend you use these in the garage, shed, outdoor kitchen, verandah, etc. The smell means I will never be placing these indoors. The baits are messy to setup. I would recommend Combat remove the adhesive altogether and give us some blutack (or alternative) to do the job. The very strong adhesive over the bait should be relaxed slightly as its just near impossible to remove the seal without getting your fingers slightly touching the bait contents.

Side Note: I often wonder how the other brands such as Mortein can guarantee up to 3 months of effectiveness of their baits when it isn't even sealed. These days, there is only a thin cardboard box holding the baits and that's it. Unless they were very clever and while I break apart the baits, it shatters some form of protective barrier.

Infestation cleared within 22 hrs – Just moved into an absolute dump. landlords recently even had some pest control spray a Powerful insecticide around all the rooms, and all it did was stop the roaches for about a week.

The rub will be if I have placed enough of them and if i placed them in the right places; I used the bottom drawer of an old wardrobe I never use, behind a cabinet, and on top of the wardrobe too. Have seen them in all those places and more. Tried sticking the strips with the adhesive on the back, and they just fell right off, but that's not what's important. Will just have to wait and see now if they are desperate enough to actually eat the bait.

Edit: so, to see for myself if the formula worked, I caught one of the roaches and put it into a jar with a bait. By morning, it was on its back, kicking its legs, and by lunch time it was completely still. It is evening now and I haven't seen anymore of them- which means the traps work. I was worried they wouldn't, because the infestation was pretty terrible; it got to the point that their nymphs were very ambitious and crawling around even with the lights on. I will probably keep buying them, since the other residents are disgusting and have no concept of hygiene, but the baits work!

Failing on 2 out of 3 selling points, but it does kill – I bought these this morning based on the promises on the package: discreet design and easy to apply. they are a clear strip but with an exposed peanutbutter type blob on the front which will get on your hands when you try to bluetack them to the walls and which means you cant use them inside any drawers as you will get the gunk on your utensils.

Unless they do miracles on the German cockroaches (have my fingers crossed after reading the other review) I would never buy them again. Will come back and update this review!

UPDATE 7 days later. I AM actually seeing a LOT less little roaches, am carefully impressed with the killing power of these strips. Keeping them stuck to the wall remains a problem, even the bluetacked ones slide down (the joys of living in the tropics I suppose). Have changed my review from 1 to 3 stars. Will come back and update some more!

UPDATE 24 May. I have had these strips for a month now and am definitely seeing a decrease in little roaches. Some nights I only see 1, where there used to be between 10 and 20. The strips still look disgusting and need to be re positioned on a regular basis, but there is enough goo left on them to keep feeding the bugs, although I haven't actually seen a roach on or near the strips.

Am updating my review to 4 stars because of the killing power, but the design and not sticking adhesive back remains an issue.

They are great – Sure the sticky side isn't real sticky but who cares they kill the cockroaches.... So I'm happy. I just bought some more because the bit the cockroaches hadn't eaten had dried out..... but if it costs me $10 every 2 months I don't care. They work and I recommend them. Show details

Useless – I tried hanging them by the little hole at the top of the strip, laying them all together in areas of heavy infestation and they do not work at all. The gel inside the strip dries out after a day or two and the roaches continue on their merry way. I have wasted $12 on this useless product and am not happy about it! Show details

Difficult to use – i have only just started to try and set them up. This in itself has been very hard. There is not enough sticky on the baits for them to stick to the surface, at this stage not very impressed with this product. Would I buy them again? Very much doubt it. Show details

Successfully got rid of the infestation! – Amazing!!! I love in a high rise unit block and was infested with large and small cockroaches. I sprayed and used roach bombs unsuccessfully. was definitely taken back to the nest. It's now 3 months and I am due to refresh the baits. I will be doing this religiously since I don't have control over the infestation in the whole building.

Great Product – Don't know what the problem is with people saying they can't remove the adhesive strip. I separated them all first then removed it easily. The adhesive is not sticky but that does not matter to me I just placed them somewhere they would not be in the way when removing items from the kitchen cupboards & I did not find the smell bad at all. These are great and they work so will continue to use them.

Fantastic, quick, effective. Roaches gone in 48hrs. The sticky strip isn’t super adhesive but that’s a non issue – Kills quick Kills nest Sticky strip at back not super adhesive but I just put it on the floor behind and underneath fridge. If you are a whinger who can't operate a lock or flush a public toilet, these aren't for you, a bit of brains and nouse is needed here. I was astounded at the whingey, whiney comments, probably from city slickers. For me, we are semi rural and these work.

Next to useless – Not only will these not stick to any surface, they don't open fully. Some won't open at all, the tabs just break off. I don't know if they work because I couldn't get enough open to test. Show details

Huge benefit in a Sub Tropical Brisbane – Laid out where you get 'walk ins' & in 'daytime hiding' places, they work exceptionaly well with regular discovery of cockroaches that have past way. value for what it does though. It does kill roaches, but isn't useful for heavier infestations. If you have a light infestation, or get the jump on things as soon as you see that single roach (because there'll be 100 more hidden that you don't see), then yeah, sure give this a shot - maybe it'll work for you. But if you have a heavier infestation (i.e. multiple rooms) then you're better off spending 2-3 times what these things cost to get the job done properly. Or get the pest control experts in to bait and eliminate them entirely.

Only stuff that has worked for me – Tried several sprays and home remedies but used this and it was cockroach genocide. Worth shopping around because it's usually on special somewhere for about $6. Buy several packets and be patient, it will take a few weeks for them to disappear. Show details

Poor design and dangerous – Difficult to set up. Really hard to pull off the adhesive strip. Adhesive strip doesn't stick. Also really hard to pull off the strip that 'activates' the strip, and when you do get it off you get the poison all over your hands. Not good! – The sticky tape cover and sticking strip came completely off on several of the strips thus rendering bthe strips not able to be stuck down. strongly emphasised. My dog was highly attracted to the smell of the strips as soon as I opened the cover. She accessed and ate the chemical in the strip despite my placing the strip in a place that I was confident that she could not access. Vet contact reassured me that the chemical was unlikely to harm a large dog like mine. After some vomiting the dog was ok. However, surely such a product used domestically should not be attractive to pets.

effective bait that I have used to date. I am careful where I place them as I have a cat. My policy is to put themout in August September before the cockroaches and I found that this keeps them under control.

Rubbish Product – I had to check the instructions 3 times just to make sure I was using these baits correctly. The adhesive is useless as it doesn’t stick to anything. When you peel off the top layer the poison is open. Gave up after using just 2 baits. Waste of money! Show details

Combat Roach Bait strip fail – I think they managed to get the glues on the wrong sides of the strips! The foil cover is as hard as to get off, tore most of the foil and ended up scraping the gooey muck off my fingers and the other side the glue is so weak it won't hold the strip up as all. where you have placed them, the bait is open and can easily be licked out. Time for a design change. The package has a website (www.antrid.com.au) on the back that does not exist, redirects to Henkel (a glue manufacturer), who on their home page have a big thing about responsible use of plastic, yet the plastic used for these bait stations would take decades to degrade. Make them from a soy based material, then the roaches could eat it too! There is no product information or product safety sheets available online, you need to call.... Do not recommend, not that effective either.

What a downer – I purchased these with the intention that they would work. As with the other comments, the adhesive strips on the reverse side of the bait do not stick, at all. When peeling the bait protective layer, it will snap halfway and you will get the goop all over your fingers. It also appears to be “half full”, so there’s not a lot of product in the bait itself. that adheres to the surface is not that sticky. The pros- it seems to work. Which is what I wanted and what this product is all about. I placed the strips in strategic spots in the kitchen and next morning could see that something had been nibbling on the baits. Since I have used the strips I havent seen a cockroach. The product says the roach eats the bait and then takes it back to their nest and exposes the other roaches to the product and the nest is killed. For me its been a week and so far so good. I hate roaches so any product which makes them disappear from my sight I like.

Very poorly designed baits – Very poorly designed bait. Very difficult to peel open even for strong hands, you’ll just get the gooey bait all over your fingers, the base of the bait strip doesnt adhere to most surfaces at all such as ceramic tile floors.
