6 years warranty is a joke. I've bought the cell chlorinator from them 2 years and a month ago, so 25months ago and the cell totally melted, it wasn't producing chlorine from a while and it start leaking and it went in parts like you can't imagine. Now, they asked me to send back my cell and they asked me to pay another $185 after 2 years you need… Read more
to pay 50% to get your cell back fixed. This is just a joke! I would never buy anything from them anymore!
Can’t agree more with the feedback already submitted by others.. [Content Removed] products, [Content Removed]/appalling service & warranty is [Content Removed] at best.. Purchased a replacement A200 cell housing in Sept 2025.. 4.5mths later is… Read more
was leaking/spraying like a fountain from the joint of both halves.. Clearly a manufacturer defect, but was it covered by any warranty, NO.. Owner/Manager had audacity to blame a stop valve for excessive water pressure causing failure.. Said come back in a week when he has new stock.. Did that & was told he’d call when it arrives. No surprises, no call.. The flow stop valve is in between the cartridge filter & in front of the cell housing & if accidentally left closed would stop water entering the chlorinator all together & probably crack the filter cartridge.. He must think I’m st^pid as with valve closed no water even enters the chlorinator housing.. He didn’t want to deal with this today & sent a junior worker out to do his dirty work.. End result was I was charged another $70 for a replacement one which should have been warranty as it’s not even 6mths old. My pool is green & had little option than to pay for another one.. Another trip to Bunnings for more pipe & fittings to re-plumb it & more of my time lost.. Would not use these people ever again..
Follow-up · Nothing has changed.. Would never use these guys ever again.. I read Consumer law that says they must offer 12mth warranty but they would not even cover 4.5mths.. Have not found another retailer of this part, but so far have not needed too as replacement that I had to pay for is doing okay.. I fitted the new part myself but am not a plumber, but it’s not rocket science apart from the price of fittings, pipe & glue..
Yep, as everyone has stated, this company is a complete scam, crap product, crap workmanship and absolutely no customer service. arrogant staff who just put the phone down on you, the 7-year warranty is a myth! Charge me $187 in Feb 25 and less than a year after if was fixed it failed again, they won't even return my cell unless I pay shipping. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY they are a rip off! Show details
Very poor products (avoid the Mineral Perfect chlorinators ! Avoid, avoid, avoid. Two failed in five years) and appalling warranties. Show details
Wish I read these reviews before purchasing, this company is a joke, my Cell died and it was 3 week after their 2 year warranty, clearly it was falling well before that and while still in the 2 years, they would not entertain that and wanted more than 50% pro rata to repair, so I looked at their reviews and it looks like they can’t fix their own… Read more
products, I will never buy anything from them again and when I asked for my property back they wanted me to pay for the postage even though they have admitted their product failed, buyer beware.
Oxygen thieves. Bought a titanium chlorinator from Tropical pools as our last one was knackered. Saw the 7 year warranty and was sold. It worked flawlessly for just under 3 years, then overnight the cell stopped working. Sent it off for repair after finding out only 2 year warranty and anything past that costs you. Paid $170 plus freight,… Read more
whatever. They sent back the repaired cell and installed it to find it leaking from the cap where the lead attached. Sent it back for a second repair. It came back leaking from two places. After them telling me it was leaking from where they repaired it, I sent them a video of it leaking from where they repaired it. Fixed for the third time I installed it and looked OK, no leaks, was producing chlorine but a lot lower than ever before. The next morning the cell was dead again. The products sold by this company are trash, there product testing and repairs and no existent. Dont dont buy anything from either Tropical Pool Store or Compupool unless you have money, time and patience to spare.
Worst company to deal with. Don't buy any of their products. Also they are linked to tropical pool supplies. Same mob. All claim to be good quality. Absolute rubbish. Took my chlorinator titanium edition and cell to them last week. Tried to call number it's a joke. They have 6 dept saying for this press this all rubbish no one answers phone.… Read more
Today received a missed call from them. Called back like usual no answer. Went to their factory saw someone and he said your board is gone and so the cell. $650 to repair. Told him it was working fine only low chlorine. Took it back as is. When I got home turned on .working but no chlorine at all. Opened it up they had the board disconnected. Connected board started to produce chlorine. Bunch of crooks they should be persecuted for cheating people.
Warranty is a joke – Two star cause when work it is good. I bought the titanium edition self cleaning system from Tropical Pool store. The timer failed after six month, so when saw a green pool I added more salt. That was second mistake It was then I paid enough notice to see it never turned on. Because I put in extra salt it took the free salt level over their… Read more
recommended levels this void my warranty. When I said it is the timer that failed not the salt cell and control CCT, they said nothing could be done. The pool now is now in manual mode with a cheap Kmart timer. And we're swimming again
This company is a scam, Don't buy their product – This company is a scam. Bought a CompuPool salt cell from https://tropicalpoolstore.com.au/. Their website claim that this product has 6 years warranty and this is the reason I purchased from them. After 12 months, it's stop working and return back for repair. Then other 12 months later, it stopped working again. I returned it back again under… Read more
the 6 years warranty claim. However, I was told that I need to pay $170 for the repair, because their 6 years warranty is a scam and claim that it's a pro-Data terms, I don't know what does it mean, but they refused to provide a free repair immediately after 24 months.
All other companies all stated that their warranty is 2 years, but they cheated the customer to claim that they provided 6 years warranty but actually only 2 years.
Their product is very poor quality and will stop working after 12 months.
Never buy from this company again.
Stay away from Compupools – Bought a salt cell from Tropical pool store which appears to be the front for Compupools. Salt cell worked well for 18 months and then failed. One of the electrodes had completely corroded. Filed a warranty request and sent the cell to Compupools. After 8 weeks I followed up and it sounded like they hadn’t even looked at it. Another couple of… Read more
weeks later I received the cell back. It looked visibly fixed but when I reinstalled the cell the low salt light was on and it was only producing a maximum of 60%. Contacted them again and sent the cell back. Another couple of weeks later I get the cell back again no info except a sticker indicating everything was quality checked and fine. Reinstalled the cell again and still the same result low salt light and only producing a max of 60%. What a pile of junk. While the back and forth was going on I bought another generic branded cell from another company which works brilliantly. The extended warranty sounded good from Compupools but is worthless. STAY AWAY FROM COMPUPOOLS.
One Star review Champions! – Worst warranty, service and support I have ever experienced, I don't expect to to have my 6 year warranty honored, even though my cell is less than 6 months old, have lodged a complaint with Consumer affairs, the line is getting bigger something need s to be done ASAP, appalling. Show details
Another rip off company – I had purchased a salt cell (big mistake) from Tropical Pool Store, not realising that these two companies are one and the same. There is no ABN for Tropical Pool Store, I have now lodged a complaint with Consumer Affairs QLD. For your wallet and sanity, stay away from these companies. Show details
Salt cell repaired under warranty, failed 4 months later now i have to pay to repair WARRANTY A SCAM – STAY AWAY FROM COMPUPOOL PRODUCTS AND TROPICAL POOL STORE, I purchased a salt cell in Dec 21 from Tropical Pool Store, The cell arrived broken in the box with no packing and no paperwork, I repaired it myself after no response from phone calls and emails, and being in Christmas/new years period. followed up in mid-January no response. Oct 23 cell… Read more
stopped working contacted Tropical Pool store, and they asked the usual if salt ok, etc. Instructed to send to Compupool products (the manufacturer) at my cost ($25), cell returned 2 weeks later no paperwork no report, sent Tropical an email to tell them its been returned asking what was done, no reply, Feb 24 cell stops working again, contact tropical concerned it may be something on my end causing issues, the very rude [Name Removed] accused me of cleaning in acid, i replied it hasn't been touched in the 3-4months since it got repaired, advised to return again to Compupool for repair, another $25 to sent, now they want to charge me $175 to repair, the apparent 6 year warranty is pro rata after 2 years, as i didnt get any paperwork i didnt know, and [Name Removed] couldnt give n "F" his response was then just buy a new one if dont want to pay for the repair. So angry no care that it was repaired 4 months ago thats the warranty sucked in.

Terrible Products – I bought a salt cell from Tropical Pool Store and after 2 years it stopped working which is well within the 6 year warranty claim period. I filled out the warranty claim form and David Holt (Sales and Product Consultant at Tropical Pool Store) responded to the claim and after a bit of back and forth he said the cell is working correctly. I said… Read more
that is rubbish and he then told me to make a claim with Compupool who make the call even though Tropical Pool Store sold me the cell. When you look at Compupool website you basically have to pay more money to get a replacement cell. Why would I pay more money to get another crap product. These guys must be faking the good reviews on their website as there are lots of bad reviews here.
Products are low quality and warranty is a hoax. Bad operators, no customer service – Check out other peoples reviews too. They all have the same issue of not getting warranty as promised. It's good you are here and checking reviews before buying. I was unfortunate not to have checked, otherwise I would not have bought from CompuPools or Tropical Pool store. Low quality product. Chlorinator cell stopped working within 2 years.… Read more
They offer a 6 year warranty. Chlorinator cell not working properly, returned it under warranty and then they offer a replacement for more $$ as I originally paid. The product is even sold for less on their own website.
Turns out they are also operating under Tropical Pool store, where the cell cost $399.
A replacement cell under a warranty discount they offer for $467. They even send an invoice for testing their own faulty product for me to pay if I do not want to buy a new one.
Customer service is very bad. Instead of honouring their 6 year warranty They do not communicate in a proper matter, just offer you to buy a new product from them for a higher price than their own site. See attached invoices and correspondence from them.
Unbelievable how toxic the customer service is at Compu pool, operating also as Tropical Pool Store – Chlorinator had never performed as it should have so rang to enquire why? The response was totally out of this world, everything was my fault, rude, insulting. The bloke on the other end of the phone was taking advantage of knowing he was miles away. DON'T GO NEAR THEM they should not be allowed to operate. The brand new chlorinator I purchased is nothing but rubbish & that is where it has gone, they're not worth the hassle of dealing with.
No warranty, rude staff – Purchased chlorinator, it failed in under 12 months. Rude, obstructionist, evasive, and belligerent best describes the staff member (who refused to name him/herself) after trying unsuccessfully to submit a warranty claim. Do not deal with these clowns! Show details
AVOID buying from COMPU POOL PRODUCTS QLD – Bad Customer Service, their Warranties on Chloronitor / Cells are useless and not following up on request Show details
Don’t buy compupool products – AVOID Compupools products! Terrible products terrible service useless warranties. AVOID this company. See their reviews nothing over 2 stars Show details
DO NOT BUY!! – Do not buy anything from Compupool, ever! I bought a chlorinator and it worked for a while, the problem started when the unit stopped working and I had to deal with the Comp Pool staff. Like all of the other reviews, they never answer their phone, (unless you select Sales). They never respond to emails either. I thought I would buy an Aussie… Read more
Product from an Aussie company because then I would not have to deal with poor quality and poor service, how wrong was I. I spent $500 on getting the Chlorinator fixed under warranty and when they finally sent it back it only worked for a very brief period of time. What a joke. I had my local pool company try to get it going at my expenses and they told me if was faulty. When I sent it back to Compu Pool they said that it was working fine and would provide no refund. CRAP Product & CRAP service, save yourself the headache and buy from someone else. Why do I have to give them 1 star?? they do not even deserve that, CRAP!
Not a happy customer – I too should have read the reviews. A mate bought a salt water chlorinator of ebay and when it failed he took it to comupool at nerang. They fixed it under warranty , great service for him. So in November 2022 I bought a Titanium edition 35 based on his experience. I have had nothing but trouble since. The cell end cap and wiring melted twice. … Read more
Replaced under warranty. They blamed the salt content was too high. They don't answer the phone or call you. I took the unit back again with the melted cell end cap and the control unit. The timer switch was also faulty. Didn't answer phone calls or ring me when it was fixed. Replaced the cell under warranty no charge but didn't fix the timer.
A repeatable pattern of disappointment! – I should have read the reviews. Is this a scam? You have https://tropicalpoolstore.com.au/ selling cheap items with long warranties. The item breaks. Tropical Pool Store refer you to https://www.compupool.com.au/ and CompuPool's definition of the warranty is to buy the item off them at a much higher price than what you originally paid? Terrible product and service – I bought a salt chlorinator cell in February this year for $400, had it replaced in July that year because it was leaking around the electrical connector which they replaced. Now leaking again around connector and they have refused to replace because the electrical wiring to the cell is in poor condition which has cause the cell to over heat...Seriously 3months of a 7 year warranty!!(look at the picture i have attached) Show details
Couldn't Care Less About Their Customers – I bought a Compupool i40 salt water chlorinator two years ago. Since then, it has been in for repairs twice. This last time, the cell it was leaking rusty water from under the electrical connection cover. I have been waiting over 2 months for its return to Perth and it still hasn't arrived. My pool is now looking more like a pond. Talking to… Read more
these guys is a waste of time. They always find someone else to blame and never take ownership of the problem or their responsibilities to their customers. I asked them for a working loan unit until mine can be fixed. They refused. I think they only care about selling their products then walking away with our hard earned cash. I will never buy another product from this company again.
Compupool are a [Content Removed] company – This company is a [Content Removed] customers in line with Tropical Pool Store. My cheaply made RP25 salt cell lasted 12months but had a 6 yr warranty. When I returned it they said I owed them $350 to have it replaced because the RRP for the cell was $650 and I bought it at a discounted rate. Fair dinkum [Content Removed] company and they should… Read more
be ashamed of themselves. Have made a complaint to the QLD Fair Trading and ACCC, their response to this was "You're wasting your time".
Terrible product with lousy warranty – Purchased a salt water chlorinator. It burnt out within a year. They would not cover it under warranty and they were so rude when trying to discuss the issue telling me it wasn’t their problem Show details
Poor quality product with a worthless warranty -- AVOID – Purchased compupool Salt cell with 6 year warranty from tropical pool store. After 3 years it failed, (brittle plastic, unsuitable materials for use in chlorination system). after sending Photos etc i was requested to return the unit to compupool (at my expense). I was informed that the warranty replacement would cost more than the original and… Read more
directed to the warranty terms. Compupool use an overly expensive list price (more than double the original cost) to show that i should pay twice for the 6 years warranty. I am also complaining to the ACCC, I don't see how manipulating the terms allows for a useless warranty. It seems that the product is not suitable for purpose, irrelevant of the scam warranty.
In the images attached you can clearly see the broken plastic fingers. this allowed the chlorination plates to touch each other causing the plates to become burnt out. In addition the outer ring holding the O ring has broken making it impossible for the salt cell to not to leak.
Salt water chlorinator – Salt water chlorinator 4 years old and Compuchlor wants. $600 to repair it. What a joke. Had the cell replace already under warantee around a year ago. Will not be spending that on a 4 year old unit with no warantee they can keep it. Time to start looking for an alternative. Show details
poor quality poor service – do not buy this rubbish ti 2500 did not work from day one keeps shutting down all they do is blame salt levels when installed salt was within guidelines would not even offer to test unit all that was offered were arrogant excuses such a shame when you try and buy Australian. Just Useless Stay Away From Them Not Worth the Hassle – Been returned for warranty- they lost it for a while- and only lasted 6 months, initial delivery when new it was supplied with a broken plug, I had to buy a new one not their fault? Now it is faulty again so much for buying Aussie made and supporting Aussie business. Show details
Rip off – Not helpful, very arrogant, posted a matchbox since parcel with no protective wrapping and invoiced $16 . Paid $ 550 for a chlorinator 4 years ago and now they want $650 just for the replacement cell. Avoid Show details
Do Not Buy From Compu Pool - Avoid At All Cost – I bought an autochlor rp35t on 4 September 2021 through their partner Tropical Pool Store. It said it had a 5 year warranty, replacement in the first 2 years. It arrived on 8 september 2021. I installed it the same day. Cell didn't work, timer came on but didn't go off, chlorinator gauge didn't work. Called Tropical Pool Store. The rude arrogant… Read more
guy immediately told me you broke it by putting in too much salt. Wouldn't help at all. I had to contact the manufacturer, Compupool at Nerang. At first they were polite on the phone. I took the chlorinator to them. [Name Removed] had a look and told me salinity is not an issue, give me an an hour and I will see if I can fix it. When I came back [Name Removed] was there and told me I broke it because I put in too much salt. I showed him my water test from Poolwerx which showed salt at 3600. He told me you can't trust pool stores they just want you to buy their products. He tested my water and said it was 4000. I told him when I first installed the chlorinator the gauge read low production, which requires you to add salt. He told me I should not go by the gauge I should go by the numbers. Completely inconsistent. He fixed the gauge and the time and then charged me $150 for it. I asked it to be covered by the warranty as I only bought is 4 days ago. He refused saying I broke it because of too much salt.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM COMPUPOOL. I asked our local pool guy about them when I was talking to him about buying another chlorinator and he said, many years ago they were good, now they are terrible.
Once bitten, twice bitten and now never again – We have had a number of these systems through our businesses and home pools. The first we bought lasted until just after the warrenty period (doesn't everything?) but I thought that would be a one off bad apple, and I bought another. Also totally dead after a year or two. This was disappointing. However, the worst aspect was the back up support… Read more
from Compu Pool. Unbelievably disappointing. Unhelpful degrading to non existent through the period of my dealings with them. If you live in a rural area like we do and you rely on good support because you can't get to their factory, then forget it, try someone else.
