everything is going well, but it is how people handle situations when things are not going well that define them, and these people just didn't handle it well for me, one star.

I would love to think everyone just got out on the wrong side of the bed and it rolled into a bad day. But it left a bad taste in my mouth and had me being rude right back. I don't like being rude and found myself mirroring their behaviour. Ultimately I was being someone I am not while interacting with them. I decided it was better for me to walk away.

I put this here in the hope that core-electronics will improve. They certainly have a lot of 5 star reviews with comments like goods arrived promptly or arrived as per the description. If I didn't care I would walk away and never say anything. I have connections to Townsville so I have always paid the little bit more and enjoyed knowing I was supporting the community. Hopefully you do better next time.

unfortunately i had bad luck with this product as it did not work out of the box i raised this issue with core electronics and they suggested that i return the product for testing unfortunately the pi screen was part of our navigation system on our yacht and i could not wait the two weeks or more it would take to post the screen back to them and… Read more

have it tested . i explained this to them and asked if i could post the broken one back and have another one sent out so i could fix our navigation system before we set sail but they were unwilling to do that or even give me a refund i can understand that they have procedures for replacements but they were unwilling to make any effort to help a customer who spent a substantial amount on a product that they sent out faulted. i will write off the money i spent on this product and the bad experience of dealing with core electrons after sales as a learning experience that big companies do not give a shit about their customers.

SENT THE WORNG ITEMS AND WANTED A 15% RETURN SURCHARGE – Sudo Advertising . Fake drop shipping operation ! Then wanted a 15% return fee to restock as they claimed i had change of mind, when any normal person would assume items ordered were to work together or possible use some common sense to contact for clarification. (this online store and how its customer service, seriously point out why Australia has a retail crisis) There website was giving incorrect information and we have the photos, there also staff claimed they didn't even have the items in stock if i wanted to exchange items and i would get a store credit and i would have to bear the shipping costs for any returns and still lose 15% restocking fee . The customer service was appalling, one big run around trying to sort issues and one rep even hung up on phone when he was told there was a photo of website claim the item fitted pi5 and that i wanted to speak to the management. do not recommend this place

At last. A local company that beats AliExpress and Amazon – I have made 2 purchases from Core Electronics. My first purchase was a raspberry Pi Zero and two Pi Pico's. These were shipped to a local address. Core Electronics dispatched my order the next day and the goods were received the day after.

The goods are of good quality as they come from well known manufacturers, were well packaged and arrived in good condition.

Surprisingly, the above goods were considerably cheaper than they would have been, had I purchased the exact same items on Aliexpress, Amazon.com or Amazon Australia, and the delivery time was a lot shorter.

I would definitely use Core Electronics again, and based on my experience to date, I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Can't beat the local guys – I usually go to eBay or Amazon, search for what I'm after & find the only supplier is in China. I order it then sit back & wait. The products were excellent quality. They emailed me when they got my order, when they packed and shipped my order and again after they were informed my items were delivered and they offered their assistance if I needed help with anything.

Graham is doing a great job at Core electronics and I couldn't have been any more pleased with their service, product range, prices and fast delivery. Core Eelctronics stalled my order. Im buying direct from now on – I have bought various products from Core Electronics. I placed a $30 order with them because I needed the item urgently. Despite being an existing customer they placed my order on "hold" for a "security check". The could have called me. I have wasted two days of work time. Now I have cancelled the order and will buy it from Digikey USA. I should have done that first time.

Waste of time – My last order was flagged for payment fraud, meaning a confirmation transaction was required. Was advised that the confirmation transaction could take 2 to 6 days, however on day 1 they threatened to cancel my order because the transaction wasn't completed yet. the lady in the front office and told to place an order online. I drove the 40 minutes home annoyed that I'd wasted nearly two hours.

Called them, got a very helpful guy who gave me loads of great info, then I went to place the order and they had no filament in stock. Went to order filament from another site, went back to Core to place the printer order and it tried to charge me shipping and said it would take nearly a week on top of the 1-2 days for them to pack and send it. I ended up ordering all items together from a shop in Melbourne at 2:30pm yesterday, the parcel was in the post 20 minutes later is already halfway here. Free shipping made the kit cheaper than it was going to be ordering the printer from Core and the filament from another site.

Two stars for the helpful bloke on the phone, that's it. I tried really hard to buy from a local business but it's like they were doing everything they possibly could to avoid making a sale. I am starting a company that builds custom vehicles and 3D printing will be a large part of my business, so I'm likely to be upgrading to a fleet of commercial machines in the next 12 months and will have a budget in the tens of thousands when that happens. Won't bother going back to Core when that time comes.

EDIT TWO YEARS LATER: two years later they took the time to post a passive-aggressive reply painting me as a horrible person for expecting that a shop front would be a shop front. The wayback machine confirms that two years ago the website absolutely DID NOT state that they don't do sales from the shopfront - it didn't even have an FAQ at that point.

How embarrassing! If my staff were talking to customers (or potential customers) like this I would be horrified, it's a terrible way for a business to conduct itself. Review score reduced from 2 stars to 1.
