Hi. We purchased our Crystal Rain Gauge about 3 years ago and have no real issues with it except for having to buy another inner tube, because of a broken lug! On assembling it today I soon realised there is no foam rubber gasket for the new inner tube to sit on! Is it possible to show me what that segmented foam gasket looks like, as I'm quite capable of making a couple. It would be so nice to end 2023 with a working rain gauge. Cheers, Jimbo.
Dear Jimbo Thank you for your email regarding what sounds like either faulty valve at the top of the rain gauge, or a blocked valve. Either way we are sending out replacement foam valve, so as to overcome whatever its preventing the overflow from decanting into the outer measuring cylinder when the inner measuring cylinder is full.
Pending receipt of the foam valve can I suggest you take out the existing foam valve (pry it out gently with a screwdriver) make sure it is not clogged with dust/leaves etc, give it a rinse then turn it over and place back in the top of the funnel upside-down and reassemble the inner glass measuring cylinder into the funnel
To test whether this simple remedy works, before you replace the funnel and inner measuring cylinder, fill up the inner measuring cylinder with the funnel attached at the sink and once full it should overflow.
We have not had notice of this problem before after 10,000 sales, and if none of this works or you are unhappy with the product let us know and we can either refund your purchase price our replace the Crystal Rain Gauge free of charge.

Dear Jimbo Further to our reply of 17 January 2024, despite a search of our data base we are unable to locate either a postal or residential address to which we can send the replacement gasket. I somehow think it was Kurrajong Heights NSW address? If it is a Kurrajong Heights, and address as I will be passing through Kurrajong Heights on the way to Lithgow this Friday 19 January 2024, I could drop it off.
Alternately, if you send an alternate address I can despatch tehrepalcements once I receive the address.

Check their web site but I am sure they are available as a spare. I am not sure about email as I found their communications were very poor.
