Wonderful service from the call centre. Clearly not an overseas call centre so the line, like the information provided, was very clear and easily understood. guiding me through the morass that is dealing with an elderly relative's health care when they're no longer able to do it themselves. She helped fix the immediate problem straight away before suggesting ways we could save money by discontinuing no longer needed extras for someone who is now in full-time care. After weeks of struggling through other issues encountered when dealing with an elderly person's affairs, and getting frustrated by the total lack of care, compassion and common sense, I was so delighted by Lucy's commitment to helping that I rang my wife at work straight away to tell her how good it was. My wife had already suffered through weeks of my whinging, so I thought a positive story was needed. Lucy even enquired as to how my Mom was doing and was genuinely interested in her journey. We were both so impressed by the service we are now looking at moving to See-U and away from the health insurer we've been with for over forty years.

Luckily a call to CUA Health had me talking to a very polite, professional and empathetic customer service Officer, Dom, who firstly was honest to say she couldn't answer all my questions at once but would definitely consult with her senior subject matter experts and get back to me, and secondly could relate to her recent hospital experiences as like me had only been discharged a week earlier. Dom explained the purpose of a Two Way Medicare claim form and as I am mobility impaired after surgery was able to upload and email me the form at home.
Well done Dom, it's because of the personalied service, empathy, understanding and "Can Do" culture of you CUA health customer service officers that I will never abandon CUA as you guys just keep on doing the right thing by me.
Bad cover, poor service – 1. I took out general dental cover (as well as hospital) as my teeth are in excellent condition. Soon after, my dentist advised I needed a mouth guard to stop grinding which could prevent major dental work down the track. I was unable to claim anything on the mouth guard (cost was around $600). whereas the other major funds see mouth guards as preventative, and with some funds you can claim 100% up to your annual limit. CUA Health hides relevant information like this from its website - there's no transparency.
2. In the online joining process I was not asked to provide a clearance certificate from my old fund. Seven months after joining, I received a letter saying that I have a lifetime health cover loading and therefore my premium is increasing. They then debited more money from my account. Not once was I asked for the certificate, nor did they contact me to confirm anything before they sent the letter. When I advised them I did not have an LHC loading they said they'd request it from my fund, but then didn't follow up with me when they didn't receive it.
I've been with CUA Health for about 8 months now. Overall I'm disappointed with the fund and would not recommend them. Given they're a lot smaller than the bigger funds, I find it baffling that their service is worse. I'm waiting to find out how much the other funds' premiums are increasing by so I can shop around. I regret moving from my previous fund.

Also see-U insurance doesn't list their number on google, I had to get it hbf after waiting literally 4 minutes on the phone & I called See- U insurance waited over 20 minutes & had to press 9 for a call back, disappointed.
I did some shopping online for my health insurance. I discovered I could get a better policy for significantly less with much more coverage. I then asked See-U if they could do better on my policy pricing to which I was very politely told no ,I then signed up with the new provider. wanting to negotiate a better deal for me, I felt this was insulting. See-U then took 2 months to transfer the information to the new provider(something they have to do by law in 7 days making up a raft of excuses and still taking my money . The situation was only resolved when I had to threaten to involve the Ombudsman Dont go near them, so unprofessional its scary

Call with a landline if you can't get through on your mobile – ***I finally got through by using a landline, not a mobile line. I suggest everyone do the same. Used to be excellent but recently have gone down hill – When I first signed up they offered excellent service and really supportive, however in the last 6 months I have noticed a drop off in customer service and an unwillingness to offer support which doesn't match their higher market prices. Merger with HBF not smooth – Just rang CUA to change my health cover - they transferred me to HBF who they have merged with but basically to change cover its like moving to a new insurer from scratch, they don't have any CUA member details and the phone operator said it was the same as anyone else signing up, would have expected better from CUA, might as well cancel the policy and start again as HBF are not pushed bout CUA members Show details
