Over rated

Just purchased a new 5Kw Daikin Cora. This is my second Daikin and this one replaces an old Panasonic 5Kw reverse cycle A/C.
The remote of the Daikin is at best sluggish. It’s surprisingly loud and has a much larger footprint yet somehow still doesn’t cover the area the old unit covered so some repainting was required. I’m underwhelmed by the performance for the price. Show details

Unit died 11 months out of warranty

Cooling was great. But they just don't last.

Unit caused a short after 11 months out of warranty. The 3.5kw unit cost almost the same amount to just to repair so now I'm being forced to install a new unit. This is the second Daikin that has died on me only just months after warranty.

ACs should have 10 years warranty, fact that Daikin now offer only 5 years shows that their products are designed to fail.

What's shocking is a Daikin approved dealer has told me that Daikin is the worst product they sell, too many breakdowns and advised me against getting another Daikin. Show details

Annoying rattle

Have one in my bedroom that has developed a really annoying ticking noise. Hard to sleep but even worse with having it turned off in the Brisbane summer. I need to replace another 7KW brand in my lounge but am put off by getting Daiken because of the rattle. I bought this brand thinking it was the best but can see others have had the same problem. Show details

This is not the perfect Split AC

It worked as an aircon should work. Nothing extraordinary except the price I paid. Less than 6 years later it packed up. Estimated cost to change a burnt out electronic board in the outdoor unit AUD 2400.00. Tech blames it on a short circuit caused by an insect. Show details

Compressor conveniently died after 6.5 years

For units which are supposed to last 15+ years, mine conveniently suffered a failed compressor 1.5 years after warranty expired - in the middle of Canberra winter, thus making it uneconomical to repair. The only reason it's not getting 1 star is because it performed well enough for Canberra weather during its lifetime.

Either buy a different unit or extra warranty and live with the fact that this unit will fail prematurely. Don't expect any customer service from Daikin either - they will expect you to provide "service history of the unit showing the unit has been regularly serviced". Show details

Very Noisy

It seems like this particular Cora model makes loud clicking noise due to design flaws. Installer came back 3 times, Daikin came once and replaced the indoor unit but still the same issue. Daikin finally offered to replace with a newer model - Zena Vogue, which solved the issue. Avoid the Cora! Show details

Exceedingly good Aircon unit

Have had this aircon from new, now 3 years, an amazing machine- especially when one picks up and reads the OPERATION MANUAL, which i have just done 2 days ago- the results are staggering if set up as it should be -- yes it took this very cold weather to make a recheck of the settings- used Daikin systems for years, never a problem Show details ·  1

Excellent, quiet unit

This unit is quiet and efficient. I have one in our lounge room and one in our large kitchen/dining room and cannot fault them. I set them on the timer so they automatically come on at 9am and turn off at 5pm each day - its super easy to set up. I like the sensor function that turns off the air conditioner if you are not in the room and turns it back on if you re enter. Show details ·  1

does this model have a plug in wifi controller option?

Dan
Dan

Just get a $15 remote wifi controller for heat pumps from Aliexpress and it works like a charm. No need to pay extra $200 just to have a built-in wifi.

The two I had had the clicking noise issue but some of my friends don’t seem to have this issue. The installers told me they have been replacing a lot of Cora units for purchasers because of the ticking noise issue. Trust the reviews.

The Daikin Cora Series of split system air conditioners caters to a wide range of budgets and room sizes – and with its 4.2-star rating, it does so pretty successfully.

The 2kW model (suitable for a small bedroom, study or kitchen) is priced at $809, while the model with the 9.4kW cooling power (suitable for a large lounge or open plan area) is $1079.

The many reviewers that awarded the Daikin Cora 5 stars had plenty of points of positive feedback. These included that this split system AC is cools a room effectively, which was a refreshing relief. Users also appreciated how the aircon was easy to use, and that it was quiet and efficient (which helped with keeping the power bill low).
