Daikin Cora
Reverse Cycle, Cooling Only, Reverse Cycle FTXM Series (See All)Reviewer Photos & Videos
I have just installed this unit based on my installers recommendation.
The unit has excellent cooling abilities but the fan never turns off! Even when the temperature is well below the set point the fan just keeps going……and going ……and going.
And even on the lowest fan setting the fan noise is incredibly loud - even louder than a ceiling fan on med speed.
Ever other AC unit I have owned turns on/off at night, but not this unit. Once you start to focus on the noise you will never here anything else.
I called the Daiken technical team and even...

We installed this split system in 2017. In the day one we had found the sound level in SL mode is louder than what Daikin mentioned in website.
What they said SL mode - night quiet mode is what they are proud of. They have a special technology on the fan and it will shows the most quiet than other brand.
Unfortunately, no..... To be honest, in my past experience in my parents home. The statement is truth, but for what we installed in our home isn't true.
Now, the noise level of SL mode is coming to 40 dBA. When the temperature reached, the sound will stop. When the temperature lower than seting, the sound will start again.
I measured the sound level.
Without the sound, the background level is 30dBA...

The units heat and cool very well but I should have read the reviews about rattles. It is impossible to sleep with this unit on due to the magnetic rollers which fail. I get the rollers replaced every 6 to 12 months which buys a few weeks of silent operation before the annoying rattle starts again. I have 2 units which both have this rattling issue.
These were sold to me as a premium product but are far more noisy than the cheap units they replaced.
Edit:
Daikin have contacted me to try and rectify the problem. Their repairer has diagnosed t...

Cools the room really well. Super easy to use the timer function. Also love using the powerful setting to quickly cool the room and then switching to the comfort setting as it is so quiet.

I'm an installer of air-conditioning and I used to only ever recommend Daikin due to their qaulity and installation method, but ever since they have bought out their new models they are just bad build quality and not installer friendly. We have also been recalled to many jobs due to manufacturing error with thermistor not being fit properly in units causing ongoing recalls to jobs.
I would prefer to install just about any other brand over a daikin now. And have gone with Mitsubishi heavy industry in my own home due to the qaulity of daiking

The product is terrible, it’s outdated and looks like something from the 80. It looks nothing like what Daikin advertise and nothing like what the Daikin Explore Air app shows.

Used to cool when over 35degC
Works well to warm.
Not used much in 5 years as we have shade and a BreezAir evaporative cooler and Gas heating for winter..
Works well if we have been out on hot days and upon return to cool the kitchen and family room quickly then it goes into idle and works quietly with gentle breeze.
We keep the unit outside covered from the weather.
We check on leaves building up around it, and blow them away..

I had this unit installed in my bedroom. It makes clicking sound. They send person to check it - some kind of roller is replaced - it still clicks. The problem is because the roller isn't actually attached. It has magnets holding it in place. Of course the magnets do not hold it in place so the roller is always a little bit out of alignment. And the clicking is forever. Do not buy this unit. It has an engineering design fault. You will never be able to sleep with air conditioner on. I have two other Daikin units in different rooms that never make a sound. Do not buy this unit

Unit Failed in 4-5 years .. Unit Stopped year before..Electrician By passed Isolator Switch..Went to use at end of year and nothing Happened..Electrician put in new Isolator Switch and Still no Start.. NOT HAPPY at all.. I think many of these new units are over complex and full of unnecessary, not needed Crap IMO , like many modern cars.. Only something else to go wrong..
I had a Daikin Unit installed in 2018 and in mid 2020 the Unit started leaking water. After getting the installer to make a visit, they said a drainage tray has cracked and will possibly need replacement of indoor unit or extensive repair. I sent emails to customer service address and reminder for reply without any reply, and the last one "This is to confirm that we are in receipt of your email. We are currently investigating your request and will advise a response by the end of the week", this is over a week ago now, and all this now means i ...
Read morehave been unable to use my unit extended period . I will ask anybody looking to buy Daikin products to reconsider, because why pay the premium when their service is terrible and their machines have become unreliable.Purchased in June 2018.
We had two of these units fitted. They work very well in summer, cooling the house down quickly and quite cheaply. In winter though they don’t work well at all. We often have to keep rugged up to be comfortable as they just don’t heat well. We often turn to the heater they were meant to replace in order to keep warm. I can’t recommend these units.

Had a 5.0kwH unit installed 4 years ago. Went well for a while (few months) then developed the scraping ticking sound of the fan touching the case. Installer came checked and tried to stop it. A few days later it started again. Installer came back, inspected again and went to Daikin for warranty swap. They sent a new fan/motor assembly and it was duely replaced. Later again it started, this time whole FTXV50UVMA replaced. No issues since ! Great air con, quieter that old unit that is for sure.

I’ve had my 7.1 unit for 2 years and found it works well heating in Canberra, particularly nice with the fan on silent and the heat turned right up.Cooling is also quite good.
Dehumidifying is useless, it does nothing- I measured it and it just uses energy without lowering the humidity at all
For this reason I strongly warn this unit be avoided if you live in a humid area of Australia.
Remote is clunky, noise levels acceptable- I’ve had better and worse in the past.
Would I buy it again? Probably not, it’s ok but my last air con was better.
