Very bad build qaulity
I'm an installer of air-conditioning and I used to only ever recommend Daikin due to their qaulity and installation method, but ever since they have bought out their new models they are just bad build quality and not installer friendly. We have also been recalled to many jobs due to manufacturing error with thermistor not being fit properly in units causing ongoing recalls to jobs.
I would prefer to install just about any other brand over a daikin now. And have gone with Mitsubishi heavy industry in my own home due to the qaulity of daiking

The product is terrible, it’s outdated and looks like something from the 80. It looks nothing like what Daikin advertise and nothing like what the Daikin Explore Air app shows.

Unresponsive Warranty Claim
I had a Daikin Unit installed in 2018 and in mid 2020 the Unit started leaking water. After getting the installer to make a visit, they said a drainage tray has cracked and will possibly need replacement of indoor unit or extensive repair. I sent emails to customer service address and reminder for reply without any reply, and the last one "This is to confirm that we are in receipt of your email. We are currently investigating your request and will advise a response by the end of the week", this is over a week ago now, and all this now means i ...have been unable to use my unit extended period . I will ask anybody looking to buy Daikin products to reconsider, because why pay the premium when their service is terrible and their machines have become unreliable.

Disappointed with Quality
Daikin has a reputation for quality, however I feel this is unwarranted.
My 7.1kw Cora unit developed an annoying ticking sound almost immediately after being installed. The Daikin rep said the motors in some units aren't properly balanced and replaced mine, which dealt with the worst of the ticking sound.
However the replacement motor still seems quite unbalanced (you can feel the unit vibrating when it is running), and as a result, the unit's cheap plastic housing still rattles intermittently. While not particularly loud, I find it ext...remely annoying in a quiet room. The 2.5kw Cora unit in my bedroom does not suffer this problem. I feel this might be easy to overlook on a cheap unit, but not given Daikin positions itself as a premium product, and charges accordingly.
Purchased in February 2020.
Questions & Answers
I’m reading lots of people having issues with units developing an annoying ticking sound that multiple service visits cannot fix.
My local fridgey has quoted me to install a Cora 9.4kw. Has this noise issue been rectified? Reviewers say it is a design fault?
Should I avoid this model line? Daikin rep?
I can’t comment on the annoying ticking as I haven’t experienced it to date. I can say the unit is noisier the expected and the after sales service I terrible. The unit is also outdated and looks like it’s from the 80s.
Based on my experience and the unit we had installed I would encourage you to look at other brands. Hope that’s helpful.
