12 and 2 pm. I waited till 2.30 then rang again. The excuse again was the printer so no one will be coming today as we can’t print bills and receipts. Really could they not email them! So I waited most of the day with everything out of both wardrobes all sitting in my bathroom as I don’t have garage. I chose Dawsons because of the reviews . Very disappointed. Never again

Unsatisfactory performance – I called Dawson to get help with pigeons staying in our roof, under the solar panels. I was informed that there is a charge of $198 for the technician's visit plus extra for treatment (total around $300 plus). I agreed for it. I paid the $198 on the day of his visit and I believe it is a total waste of money. I never received contact details of the 3rd party as promised. Also when I called Dawson's I clearly explained what my problem was - pigeons staying under the solar panels. If they knew that they can't do the job/solve the problem, why did they visit us and charged me $198?.I think this is totally unfair/stealing money knowing that they cannot solve my problem but visiting the job, to collect money. So for being unprofessional, I will give them 1 star or 0 stars and will never call them again. Advise to others: please get more details of the job- what they will do .. and the pricing, otherwise they will just visit you and collect money.

He did an inspection and explained so much about mice and their behaviours and why I was encountering this problem and what other methods I could use to prevent access for the mice. He was courteous and got straight to work, leaving a pest control sign out the front of the property (I'm sure the neighbours were keen to know what was going on). Michael even explained ways to remove the mouse smell which has been bothering me the most. Off to buy vanilla scented everything! I chose this company because they use powder rather than bait to do a more thorough job with longer lasting effects. Particularly happy with the warranty for 6 months so that I can have them back if the mice return within that period. Would recommend!

They could not find termite activity – I engaged Dawson's Pest Control for a termite inspection. Their Inspector arrived on time as arranged and carried out the inspection which took a couple of hours. of the Tasmanian Oak floor boards. I contacted Dawson's and they sent out the Inspector who this time found the termite damage. The damage was quite evident as was the track up the stump. I then received another report confirming termite damage which I had found.

I received the usual apology but had it not been for me the termite damage would not have been found. I will have to engage another company at additional expense to again inspect my house. I would have expected Dawson's to have found the termite damage and reported accordingly. The money I paid to Dawson's was totally wasted. No offer by Dawson's for a refund because of their failure to find the termite damage.

Recently because of renovations, the floor coverings were removed and I was devastated at the termite damage which Dawson's failed to find. I have attached photos of some of the damage. Don't waste your money with this company. They can't find termites which were very obvious to me. Find a reputable company to do your termite inspections.

knowledgeable in what was required and how he would be going about the job. As requested we had to leave the house (which is a hard thing to do leaving your home with a stranger), but were at ease with our decision. On our return back home, it was all locked up and you wouldn't know that there was anything done. No odours, no mess. I am comfortable to recommend this company and a big thanks to Dawson's and a specially thank you to Daniel.

What's not there – Dawson's/Rentokil were hired to look over a property for me. The agent turned up on time. He spent 45-60 minutes looking over the property. a slab, as there were no brick vents for cross ventilation. I continued my own observations of my intended property. I found hidden inside a wardrobe covered with boxes what looked to me like an inspection hatch. Upon opening it i found a sub floor. The pest inspection agent missed this. The floor was illegally built, and the ground was damp. I paid $350 Dollars for the report. My point of this entry being, look for what's not there also during your audit. Do your own follow up. The Dawson's agents are professional, however efficiency is not in the top order. They all seem to have time constraints and this i feel works on a downside in regards efficiency.

making fruit and vegetables unsafe for consumption would it be considered effective. This was declined, as our extensive garden and small children made the idea very unpalatable.

Original infestation was never neutralised. Ant infestation continues.

When queried we were told that we were given a discount on services - which was not the case. I suspect someone has pocketed the difference, or it is a standard defensive statement.

Treatment was not performed in an acceptable or adequate way.

So I called this afternoon at 4.30 p.m. I spoke to a technician, I explained that I found a large spider in my garage, I also explained that I had to use Mortein surface spray to prevent any other spiders entering my garage. He said that because I used Mortein the treatment is no longer effective. Mortein only costs $17.50 and is far more effective. I paid $445.00 for barely 3 months effectiveness. I also called Dawsons last year, the same routine, although last year they did send out a technician to do the treatment again, not this year. I will not call them again. Also, when I did contact them in August, I asked the technician if the treatment would be effective till February next year, he assured me it would be, but if there were any problems I should contact them. Well, they did not reply to my email sent on 10 November, and when I called this afternoon, I was fobbed off.

Ineffective and terrible customer service – Having had them come and treat my home. Followed the instructions exactly. The rodents still didn’t go away. When I called to ask about it 2 weeks later the person that answered the phone was defensive, condescending and aggressive. Most of all though he said that they couldn’t help me and I needed to “call a ducted hearing specialist” something that was completely different to what I’d been told to do in the initial visit! scurrying in the roofspace, and worse still, at the bottom of the walls. It has been driving my dogs crazy & frankly been &^%#$^& annoying.

Culminated today when one of my dog's tore up our pristine carpet. She was trying to dig through the floor. See attached photo. Not happy Jan.

Be very careful if you choose this treatment method.

To add insult to injury, I'm told it's my problem not theirs. They can offer carcass removal at my expense! Unbelievable. I am livid.

first booking I called Dawsons only to be advised that the Technician would not arrive until around 5.30pm.

As such, I rescheduled the service for another date and made the same request that I need the job completed by 5pm. However, once again I was advised that the Technician would not arrive for this second booking until after 5pm.

Not only have I waisted 5 hours of my time waiting for the Technician but I find it totally unacceptable that this company expects that you be available after 5pm and will put your life on hold to do so.

Needless to say I cancelled this service after advising Dawson that after years of using their services that I will not be using their services again.

Don’t waste your money – We had constant scratching and movement in our bedroom ceiling. We called Dawsons and they came out and sprayed powder into the ceiling cavity. This costed $363.00. to get a good nights sleep! Each time I spoke to the staff at Dawson’s I was told that I have to wait 42 days. Nothing will be done until the 42 days are up. ( that was the extent of our conversation). With frustration and desperation we went to Bunnings and bought rat bait and throw it into the ceiling. The noise stopped within 4 days and the house is now silent. WE SHOULD OF DONE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE! Do not waste your money with these charlatans

Poor customer service experience – What a frustrating experience with their “customer service” team. Be careful, the process feels very thorough but I felt like I was tricked into loosing a “discount” by the way the process unfolded. inspection and then called up to ask questions organise payment for the termite inspection which was $495 minus the $198 I had already paid. I specifically said that in my second phone call.

The customer service person wasn’t able to answer all my questions. So said she would call me back after she spoke to her manager. 4 hours later she called back and I missed that call. I wasn’t able to call her back until the next day.

On calling back the next day, I was told I wasn’t able to get $495 minus the $198 I already paid as that “offer” was only available if I paid it on the same day. I stupidly assumed given I had said in the second call “I’m ringing up to organise the payment, I just have questions” and the customer service person couldn’t answer that this would not impact my ability to get a total price of $495.

In the third conversation, I asked if this was the case why I wasn’t charged the $495 in total in the first phone call or the second one and I was then put through to the manager, who then said she reviewed the voice recordings. She confirmed I had been told it all needed to be paid the same day in the first call. So again, I asked if I had booked in both inspections in the initial phone call why wasn’t the full $495 payment taken in either the initial or follow up phone call I made, as I said in the second call I was calling to make the payment and organise the treatments. A circular conversation then followed, I was told I would get the $198 discounted from any treatments I decided to move forward with.

Really? So instead of $495 for the inspections, I’m obligated to get treatments through you to get the “discount” I was promised for the inspections.

What a great sales tool. Hook me in for treatments, and offer the discount on that to keep me as a customer. This did not sit well with me, I did not want to risk getting the termite inspection and being told afterwards there was some loop hole for them to charge me a full price again. Nor did I feel it was acceptable to charge me $198 plus $495 instead of the flat $495 and tell me it was my fault for not making a same day payment, to get my “discount”. You had the recordings, so knew I had made a genuine effort to make a same day payment!

3 failed rodent treatments & no refund – We paid Dawsons $330 to treat a rodent issue (rats/mice in the roof). The first treatment was completed in late September. During the following 4 weeks, the rodents were not affected by the treatment and the noise increased considerably. There were no 'waves' or 'influx' of new rodents. under warranty and did 2 further treatments (several weeks apart). These 2 follow-up treatments had no effect. There were no 'waves' or 'influx' of new rodents. Simply, the noise continually increased. Never has there been a break in the noise or even a reduction in noise.

Each time, Dawson's said the treatments were done by a 'senior' technician and one of their 'most experienced' staff members. Even at the time of treatment, we were told this person has never had to come back and re-treat a property.

Dawsons wanted to treat the property for the 4th time. By sending a 'senior' technician. However, they were unable to justify why this visit would be any different from previous visits. I asked why they didn't send their 'senior' technician on the 2nd or 3rd visit, but no reply.

The rodent treatment was ineffective. We asked for a refund and they refused. I've issued a chargeback on my credit card and booked a treatment with another company.

Wiped out our cockroaches – We had a nasty German cockroach infestation which Dawson's wiped out for us. The guy was very helpful and gave us a lot of advice to help make sure the treatment was successful. I've heard German cockroaches are very hard to eradicate so I'm amazed that over a year later we haven't seen a single once since. Show reply

We were impressed by the rodent powder treatment compared with solid bait. We are now awaiting results, but are confident of a positive outcome. The 6 month guarantee also offers peace of mind.
