Great little machine – I purchased this machine for a holiday property and it’s perfect. I don’t drink coffee (others do) so personally I can only vouch for the hot chocolates, which I really like. The machine is so simple to use and is ready to go in an instant. No negatives so far.  Show details

Better than all other coffee machines i own – More selection of flavours and also offerings of tea and chocolate drinks not available to my Nespresso system Pixie. It is easy to use and the hot water heats up speed is so quick that the coffee is easily attainable within 3minutes! The only troublesome bit is having to refill the water manually but it is not trouble at all for it is easily… Read more

I use this MORE than my Nespresso system.

Loving this.

It is also a very neat machine

being manipulated by pod manufacturer – Very good for 5 years with 3 machines, then began to regret not being able to use other pods than nespresso.Recently noticed watery taste in the Espresso Intenso pods and they were hard to obtain (Woolies even told us they had discontinued them !) then they reappeared on the shelf with a tag on the box claiming a "new formula" but it still tasted… Read more

weaker and Lo and Behold we see that the pods had been reduced in volume from 8gr. to 6gr.or 25%...! so we contacted Nespresso/Nescafe and they gave a very muddied story about percentages of arabica blend etc.We are so cheesed of we are right now looking at machines that are not reliant on one maker product and definitely not Nestle/Nescafe/Nespresso.This smacks of a blatant move to increase the "bottom line" and the consumer can go jump..Very poor recommendation.

Easy coffee/hot chocolate, not completely flavourful – This is really easy to use, and the capsules come really cheap. However, I really wish the capsules had a little more in them. Hot chocolate tastes fine to me but the coffee that is made is slightly weak and tastes watery (although I put the recommended amount of water, and not using enough water means all the powder in the capsule isn't used… Read more

anyway). It's not the best coffee machine, but it's easy to operate and to clean. It does get dirty easily and although it's a decently big machine, it's easily handled for cleaning. I would recommend this for people that need a quick coffee fix any time of day, unless you are really bothered by the taste.

Not so good, not compatible with standard capsules and don't auto-stop!!! – I bought this because it was cheap, however, at the time, I did not know that it would require special Dolce Gusto capsules, I thought it would just be the standard nepresso ones... And it did not have an auto-stop feature, I thought it would. So you will have to make sure you measure the amount of coffee/hot chocolate put out and stop it… Read more

manually otherwise, it tastes horrible!!!

And It broke down less than 2 years, with less than 50 uses in total... Not going to buy it again.

A bit of a let down – I've had the nescafe dolce gusto mini me for approximately 4 months. I was delighted that I received coffee pods as a bonus. It came with all the necessary instructions which is quite easy to follow. I found the milk pods to taste quite powdery. It did not suit my taste buds at all, which led me to using only coffee pods and then adding milk in at… Read more

the end. This was a disappointment for me,as my usual coffee is a cappuccino or latte. I did, however, find the coffee to taste quite good. The machine is extremely easy to use. I could enjoy a coffee with the touch of a button. I found the water tank quite small, however I am the only coffee drinker in my household, so it suited me nicely. The biggest negative I found was that the water was not getting hot enough, for me to enjoy my coffee. I also liked the option of choosing a hot coffee or a cold coffee.

Great machine but pods are expensive – Great machine but pods are quite expensive. Easy to clean. Good design. You can fit different cup sizes in it. Aestheticly pleasing. Many different pod options. The only con is that the pods are quite expensive (about $8.50) but they taste great. Overall great machine for the price i paid.  Show details

For a Quick COFFEE FIX – I love my coffee.. My daughter bought me the Delonghi Dolce Gusto Jovia EDG250 in Black... ok so it’s small yes and compact but it’s so easy to use and the coffee pods are reasonably priced... the only thing with this is although it’s a small coffee machine you can only have enough water for 2 coffees at a time.. but for me it’s perfect cause… Read more

Quick, Easy Coffee – I bought this for my husband a while back. I can definitely say it's super easy to use & no need to clean out anything other that then drip tray which was a huge plus for us. The range of pods we can use is really great & love how some packs come with a milk pod too, ery handy.  Show details

Not perfect, but does the job – I picked this up from JB for cheap as they seemed to be clearing them out and it's been my first introduction to the world of pod-based coffee consumption. Not a coffee drinker myself, I've used it for many a hot chocolate. right and you get a really watery hot choc. It was cheap and does the job, but the necessity of some capsule packs being half coffee pod, half milk pod means you often pay a pretty penny for only 8 or so coffees. The water does heat up quite fast, and it's easy to clean & looks great on my counter, but I think i'll invest in an automatic machine next time.

Ok – It looks good. The water doesn’t get that hot to biting just a little hot. I use coffee mate in my coffee so it’s not cold. You can buy empty pods online $10 to fill them with your own coffee granules, as the pods are $9 for 16 cups of coffee. Fine product but noisy – The taste is ok since I don't really have any opinions but dolce gusto pods. Easy to operate manually but hard to decide how much water for one pod. Just the cheapest way to get a fast pod cafe at home. Not really recommend if you have some more budget because you will have no other options for other pods.  Show details

Great tasting coffee – This Dolce Gusto coffee machine is fantastic. It is so easy to use and makes a great coffee. not bad but i worry about the environmental impact – Not a bad little unit - especially for one at the less expensive end of the market but, a) the pods rarely go on special and b) i worry about the environmental impact of plastic and c) the health impacts of forcing boiling water through plastic. Will probably keep for emergencies but am on the lookout for a machine that uses or grinds the coffee itself next time rather than pods.  Show details

Simple, no frills pod machine – Basic coffee pod machine, easy to use, makes hot and cold drinks, takes up very little space on the bench. Uses Nescafe Dolce Gusto pods, available online and from Coles, Woolworths and Harvey Norman for about $8.50 for a box of either 8 or 16, depending on the variety. Pods are chosen by type of drink (Americano, cappuccino, hot chocolate… Read more

etc) rather than strength, so strength cannot be easily customised. Special flavours are available at some times, including Nesquik, peach iced tea and chai. Milky varieties have powdered milk and sometimes sugar included in the pod.

Did not enjoy this machine – While extremely affordable, the capsules are not and the quality of the coffee is pretty poor. I found that every coffee capsule tasted burnt. Good for hot chocolates though. Might be good to have in the office kitchen as a shared machine if you can find an alternate capsule that doesn't burn.  Show details

Dead in 6 months – It makes good coffee for 6 months then dies. Solid orange light. Descaling doesn't work. I've had 2 of these machines during 2017. Both died the same way after 6 months. My first machine was a Genio and lasted 2 years. Don't waste your money on the Jovia. It's cheap but you will be disappointed.  Show details

Great Coffee Machine but not the best value – The coffee is great but it is very hard to find at a competitive price. I would recommend going for a Delonghi instead because there are many more varieties available. In saying that though the pods are great tasting just not the best value. Easy to use and inexpensive – We are very satisfied with our coffee maker unit. It is small and lightweight was bought during promo with many extra coffee capsules as bonuses. It is very easy to use as well also the capsules are reasonably priced. I'm no coffee expert, but if you like unsophisticated instant coffee (or choco, among others), then this might suit you.  Show details

Quick & Easy Coffee – I am quite a fussy coffee drinker but I am quite happy with this machine so far. Pros - Machine is cheap, small & light weight - Very fast warm up 30 secs, get your first cup out in 1min - Excellent black espresso short black and long blank, I think as good as Cafe standard. I normally drink black with no sugar so if it is a mediocre cup, I… Read more

will know. I have tried the Americano and Americano Intenso.

- Very clean, no coffee grinds, no mess on the bench top. All contained in the pod.

- Hardly any maintenance, just rinse the pod tray and small litte drip try under running tap water.

- Manual machine in that you control the water on and off. Some people see it as a con, I see it as a plus as I like that I can control the strength of the coffee and the milk and coffee ratio easily.

Cons

- Milk based Espresso ( cappuccino, Lattes) uses milk pods and they do not taste as good. Better than instant but not Cafe standard. I think if you are very particular about milk based espresso, you probably need a separate milk frother. Does not bother me though as I drink mostly black coffee. On the occasion where I do want a milk based coffee, I can't be bothered to froth the milk separately and then wash the frother. So this still works well for me with its milk pod.

- If you drink a lot of coffee, pods are still relatively expensive. 100 cups black coffee works out to $53 and milk based coffee double that. Still much cheaper than going to a Cafe but if you buy coffee beans in a 1kg bag and use a fully automatic espresso machine, you can make 100 cups for about $10 -$20 only and you can probably cover the cost of the machine in a year or two.

I have used semi automatic, fully automatic espresso machines in the past. I like this Dolce Gusto as it is very clean, makes a cup in 1 min and makes a decent short black and long black. Needs hardly any maintenance.

Great Little machine – Very easy to use and the flavor of all the pods we have tried so are amazing. The only downside i would have to say is that the pods are sooooo very expensive. Also the heating time before you can actually use the machine is a little slow, but nothing that would affect me recommending to other people.  Show details

Good and practical option for morning workers – Coffee's good, but the selection of the coffee is not too broad as they only sell capsules according to your pod's type(s). This is a great portable machine that you could carry around, not too big and you can purchase the capsules basically everywhere. The only thing missing is the Espresso is not close to what I want them to be.  Show details

Easy to use and clean – Item is good when you figure out how ratios however i find that it has the following flaws that you need to take into consideration: * Pods are very weak and require 2 pods to fill up a mug (doesn't include the milk pod). * If you don't get the water to pod ratio correct it tastes very chemical-ly (for lack of a better word) * Water jug really… Read more

online which I am looking at purchasing soon. The machine makes a coffee quicker than it would take a kettle to boil. I prefer my coffees warm not hot, so I like having the option of adding cold water to reach my desired temperature. It saves me time as I make the coffee quicker and drink it straight from the cup without having to wait for it to cool down. Definitely a great machine for those who need to get out the door quickly in the morning.
