downside is the coffee from just about every type of pod I used (I've tried all of them) is very average to poor - not much better than instant coffee and not as good as plunger coffee I normally use. At work there is a Nespresso machine which is not as good at the Dolce Gusto but the Nespresso pod coffee tastes a lot better. So great machine but average tasting coffee powder. I regret the purchase but will keep it in the kitchen to offer to family & guests willing to try it for the novelty. I agree with reviewers who criticise the powdered milk - I recommend heating normal milk in cup in microwave for 30 secs and then add pod coffee from the Dolce Gusto machine.

don't mind it. The machine is easy to use. I use pure water (not filtered water nor tap water) so I never have to descale the machine as their is nothing in the water that can cause scaling.

I have one machine at home and one at work.

The range of beverages is quite good with new ones appearing from time to time. I highly recommend the Cappuccino, Americano, Ristretto Ardenza, Espresso Intenso, Latte Macchiato, Chai Tea Latte and Green Tea Latte capsules. I've tried the Chocoletto capsules, Milo capsules and the Nesquik capsules which are okay but I'm more of a coffee drinker. The Mocha isn't too bad but it uses instant coffee mixed in with the chocolate powder so it has an instant coffee taste. :(

The Nestea Peach is awful and I don't recommend it. It contains Aspartame as a sweetener too which we all know can cause health issues. Avoid!!!

I find the strength and taste of the coffee in Dolce Gusto capsules are better than many of the Nespresso compatible coffee brands.

The only design flaw with the Dolce Gusto machine is that it leaves a lot of water in the capsules. When you take out the capsule after the beverage is ready you need to squeeze the capsule to extract the remaining liquid (milk, tea and chocolate capsules). Even the coffee capsules contain much water which need to be drained otherwise it will leak into your bin. There should be a process where the machine cuts off the water and forces air into the capsules to push out the remaining liquid.

cold drinks cold. I have so far tasted the Hot Chocolate, which is incredibly creamy and rich, opposite to what I was thinking, the Cappuccino which is lovely, the Americano and the Iced Tea.

I did read that some people do not like the powdered milk capsules, however I have drank 'normal' milk my entire life and find that is perfectly fine for me.

The capsules are also fairly easy to find and quite cheap, but could use more variety. The only problem is that the water tank is a bit small but it is not difficult to fill. Inexpensive, pods can be purchased at supermarkets, hot drinks Water tank too small, could use more flavours

Ok machine but coffee taste not so great – Bought this machine over Christmas, it looks decent and works ok but the coffee quality from the pods is very ordinary. I always find it really watery and not the robust flavour you get from some of the Nespresso or higher end machines. It's an ok buy but I can think of better options.  Show details

Does its job – The machine is fine.A little splashy but makes a descent cup of coffee (or hot chocolate, nesquik or tea if you prefer chai latte). Doesn't have many parts to clean, which means it's almost maintenance free. Just be careful not to lose the funnel that comes with it or you'll have a hard time cleaning it up without water splashing all around you.  Show details

Easy to use – This machine is easy to use and it does produce tasty, rich, creamy consistently good coffee. The only issue is that the pods that you can use for it are limited. Nespresso compatible pods tend to have a lot more variety on offer than the pods you can use for this machine.  Show details

Best Coffee Pod Machine Ever! – Absolutely love our new Dolce Gusto Genio 2. Really easy to use and there's a great range of flavours/tastes. We typically use the cappuccino or macchiato pods. Quick great coffee – Very happy with my coffee pod machine! Purchased at target online store! Very easy to use and so quick, lots of flavours to choose from and love that u can make it hot or cold! It’s average! – I’ve had a few coffee pod machines and this would be a lower rating machine. The coffee tastes ok, often it has a burnt taste. I don’t like the pods, they’re expensive in comparison and you get less because most flavours has a milk pod as well, this means less coffee per packet compared to other brands.  Show details

Awesome Coffee All The Time – Unlike other reviewers, I love the taste of this coffee particularly the Espresso Intenso pods. I do agree that the pods are overpriced though and I have noticed Woolworths is getting a bit slack in making sure that the most popular pods are always in stock on the shelf. as there is an indicator on the machine. On the pods there is also an indication of how much water is to be used so there is really no "messing up". I don't really like how big the pods are as it's just wasteful. Nespresso and other brands use a smaller amount of plastic per pod. The taste of the pods are okay, but could be better and can often taste watered down so I would recommend one less "bar" of water than indicated on the pod and use milk to make it more substantial. Other wise you are just drinking powdered water.

Handy AIO Machine for the Cafe crowd – It makes a range of different coffees and other beverages without the need for frothing your milk or pouring the right ratios yourself. Tasty and easy to use! – We use this every morning. It's easy to fill up with water, add the coffee pod, activate and enjoy a barista-made tasting cuppa without costing nearly as much. Looks good – Looks good and is really simple to use. Love the foam on top of my coffee. Does its job well. Haven't tried cleaning yet so no idea on how easy or hard it is.
