Good beginner machine, although not without faults.
I had my machine for about one and half years and it mostly served me well during that time. You do have to play with your dose and grind settings quite a bit to be able to pull a shot that is not bitter or sour, but once you have the right settings it produces good tasting espresso. Although, even after finding the right settings it would occasionally pull a sour or bitter shot.
During the time I had the machine, it would regularly show fault lights with Delonghi customer service advising me to hard reset the machine by turning off all power...
Read more and turning it back on. Hard resetting the machine would always do the trick, but it was regular enough to be an annoyance. Unlike other brands, the drip tray does not have a warning device that alerts to you empty the drip tray and it will overflow on your counter top if you do not check it regularly. Finally, my machine eventually developed a constant leak from a hose that leads to the rear of the drip tray that only stopped when the water tank was removed. I contacted Delonghi about the issue and received no response before contacting JB Hi-Fi who were willing to replace the machine before exchanging it for a Breville machine. Overall, it was a good machine that served me well, although it had several faults throughout its lifetime that were an annoyance. It is the second Delonghi coffee machine I have purchased and both had faults that ultimately led to me needing a new coffee machine, which is why I chose to go with Breville when exchanging this product.Purchased in February 2019 at JB Hi-Fi for $899.00.

Not recommended
On to my second machine in three months. First the Coffee grinder broke, then the steam wand.
The first repair took 4 weeks until I received a replacement. Now the second repair is quoted as three weeks.
Delonghi's attitude:
(i) Two repairs within 3 months is acceptable.
(ii) Asking me to negotiate repair time with the repair contractor, despite the contract for repair being between that contractor and Delonghi.
(iii) It is all too hard for Delonghi and I should go back to the retailer despite the second machine being supplied by Delonghi.

Perfect Machine Perfect Coffee !!
I’ve had my machine a few weeks now and it is absolutely amazing! The automatic built in grinder & tamp are a great feature absolutely no waste or mess. Had this for four months, it leaks water all over the counter repeatedly will go a few days than water everywhere. A common problem, read reviews before buying but thought this can’t be true.... do not buy!!!

Customer Service is sending a new drip tray as this is a known issue, and hope this will solve the problem. The water is leaking from bottom of actual unit so we will see.
As a follow up new drip tray did not solve problem, have to bring in to repair centre and be without machine for many weeks.

Was great now stopped grinding
have loved my machine up until today.We descaled it 2 days ago and went to use it today but our grinder doesn't work.we tried everything advised in the cleaning section but nothing has changed.everything else works,there are no warning lights on..any tips

I was lucky to test out a few difference machines around this price point at friends houses as I was looking at a few other brands around this price point (under $1,000). Read moreirm that i've been able to get a rich, creamy and smooth extraction after dialling in the grind settings and dose which was pretty straight forward after watching some simple YouTube videos. It only took me a few test espresso shots to get this sorted with a few adjustments on the machine itself. The fold out shelf is another handy feature to get a smaller espresso cup closer to group head which I am personally a big fan of. I'm making on average between 2-4 coffees per day since owning this and no complaints from me. Leaking after 2 weeks of using machine
Heard good things about the Delonghi La Specialista - I’ve had it for 2 weeks and it’s already started to leak and make loud noises when making espressos. After reading reviews seem to be a common issue. Very disappointed as the coffee tastes great but the machine is already broken - hopefully they can fix this problem for future customers

Fault after two weeks and 8 cups of Coffee
I did a lot of research before purchasing this coffee machine as I have had issues with delonghi products in the past. I thought however that paying a lot for this machine that I would get some sort of quality.....alas I was wrong.
The machine looks good but on closer inspection the milk frother knob and tamper handle are cheap plastic as is the grind settings ring below the coffee bean hopper. When you use the tamper handle you feel like it is going to break off in your hand as it moves to the left and down (bends)

If you want a good machine stay away from delonghi..save your money for a greqt machine. look to gaggia, saeco, Krups or other high end brands from speciality outlets instead of fast moving consumer goods stores.Purchased in August 2020 at The Good Guys Online store for $799.00.

Has been pretty good, but suddenly stopped working after 5 weeks
I bought this machine from The Good Guys- was told it was top shelf. I bought it on 24 July this year. It took a while to understand how to get the grinding settings correct etc... but eventually got there after a fortnight. Then today suddenly, it won't work. It wouldn't grind, and would filter coffee. I gave a descale, and it now grinds but I keep get triangle warning light on and it won't make coffee. Great coffee machine so far!!
We have had this coffee machine for 3 months or so now and it has had no issues whatsoever (besides a bit of coffee getting stuck in the filter which made the pressure go whack.... easy fix). We use the machine a few times a day and the coffee has been consistent. We find we only really use a fine grind on the settings and I wish it would have a bigger range for the grind settings. The milk frother works well but doesnt allow for coffee art as its pretty automated. All in all great machine delicious coffee and we are very happy with the purchase.

We have had the DeLonghi La Specialista machine at home for the last few weeks now, and it is easy to use with an automatic tamper and grinder which is great (especially if you're looking for barista made coffee at home). If you're unsure how to use the machine, make sure you book a demo in if needed as a representative will be able to show you how to use the machine over Zoom which was very helpful. If you like milk coffee, the frother is great as well and easy to use. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to have cafe quality coffee at home.

Leaks everywhere
Bought my La Specialista off of DeLonghi’s Amazon shop on the 22nd of July.
I have had it for a week, using it at least once a day and have come back to find that it has leaked all over my countertops on 4 different occasions.
After doing some research, I have found that this seems to be a common issues that has never been addressed or rectified - would never have bought the machine if I had known earlier.
Waiting to hear back from DeLonghi about a replacement or fix.

Leaks, all the water drains from the tank all over the kitchen
I have logged this twice now with DeLonghi and had absolutely no response. Customer service/support is sadly lacking.
It makes great coffee, but I am over wondering if I'll wake up to a flooded counter top. Frother works a treat.
I did forget to mention that the I logged the initial fault over a month ago with no response. Logged again last week, same. The DeLonghi contact below has not generated a response either. Yes, we are all affected by the virus, but don't trot it out as an excuse for poor customer support.
