Overall sentiment for DHL is overwhelmingly negative, characterised by significant frustration regarding delivery reliability and customer support. While a small minority of users report fast international transit and professional individual drivers, these are overshadowed by systemic reports of "ghost" delivery attempts, lost high-value items, and a perceived lack of accountability when services fail.

DHL is currently viewed by many consumers as an unreliable service for local Australian delivery, despite its global reputation. Potential users should be aware of significant risks regarding "ghost" delivery attempts and the potential for long delays once a package reaches Australia.
I am very disappointed with the service I received from DHL Express. My shipment was not handled as expected, and the overall experience fell well below the standard I anticipated. There was a lack of clear communication regarding the delivery status, and the delays caused significant inconvenience. Despite reaching out for assistance, the… Read more
support I received did not adequately address my concerns or provide a satisfactory resolution.
I chose DHL Express because of its reputation for reliable and timely delivery, but this experience has left me frustrated and disappointed. I hope you will review this matter, improve your communication and service processes, and take appropriate steps to prevent similar issues for other customers.
Never again!
I had a parcel coming from Pakistan. Driver left it out the door unattended. Never bothered to ring the bell even let alone the signatures that were meant to be taken. I am extremely disappointed as i lost goods worth 500 dollars and this could have been prevented by just ringing the door bell. The customer service ladies instead of apologizing… Read more
are arguing with me. What a shame this business is. Never recommended. Australia post can do a better job. They atleast ring the bell or leave parcel in the bin if no one is there to pick.all i received was a photo

Tracking no :- 33872606091454321 Worst courier service I have ever dealt with. I paid $65 for a parcel to be shipped from the USA to Perth, with an advertised delivery timeframe of 6–8 days. The parcel arrived in Perth on 15 June and, despite me living only 10 minutes from the airport, it is now 20 June and it still has not been delivered. What… Read more
is even more frustrating is the complete lack of accountability from customer service. Every time I contact DHL, I get a different answer. One representative told me to contact Customs because they didn't know where the parcel was. When I pointed out that the tracking information showed the parcel had already been automatically cleared by Customs, I was again told to contact Customs. Another time I was told to contact the local post office.
How is it the customer's responsibility to chase multiple organisations to find a parcel that is supposedly being handled by DHL? If DHL cannot locate a parcel that is already in their network, what exactly are customers paying premium courier fees for?
And what is even funnier for a global courier giant is that the delivery notifications are completely out of sync. I signed up for tracking alerts and received a notification saying my parcel was "on the delivery van" around 16 hours after that event had supposedly happened. For a company that prides itself on logistics and tracking, sending updates half a day late is laughable.
The delays are disappointing, but the lack of communication, ownership, and accurate information is even worse. Instead of investigating the issue, customer service appears to be giving random explanations just to get customers off the phone.
I paid for a premium courier service and received anything but. Poor communication, poor tracking, poor customer service, and no sense of responsibility. Based on this experience, I would not recommend DHL to anyone.
I had a terrible experience with DHL as well. I just received my package after nearly a month of delays. The shipment was advertised as 2–3 business day delivery, but it took almost four weeks to arrive. Customer service was extremely disappointing. Every update required me to chase DHL myself. Nobody proactively communicated, nobody took… Read more

One of the worst international shipping experiences I have had.
got charged $96 import tax on a good worth "over $1000". Asked multiple times how to dispute this with proof it was not worth that amount and was ignored. extremely disappointed Show details
Spent the day waiting, as arranged with DHL. Chased and was told it was not coming till next week and I would need to spend another day at home waiting. They told me the date given was an "estimate". When I told them it clearly was not "Gary" was just rude and hung up the chat. I expected much better from DHL. A shocking experience Show details
This is the only forum I could find to leave a review about a terrible DHL driver, it seems DHL don't accept feedback and no wonder. I returned home to find a DHL delivery truck parked in the middle of a roundabout, ON A PAINTED ROAD SIGN stating "NO PARKING", blocking it to traffic. The vehicle was unattended. I was forced to drive the wrong way… Read more
around the roundabout to reach my parking spot. Upon his return I confronted the driver and informed him that I've taken pictures of his attrocious parking and that I'm going to report him to DHL (an impossible task). His excuse was that "I'm a delivery driver" as if that gave him an exemption from the road rules and to ignore the ample signage that parking on site is for RESIDENTS ONLY. No wonder DHL have so so many bad reviews. Totally unacceptable!!
Hello, I just wanted to give you a heads up regarding DHL/Partnership with Dai Post in Australia. According to them (no proof of anything), they attempted to deliver the item an on the 31st of December and I wasn't home. for themselves as a gift, every single item they are supposed to deliver). This Dai Post provides a reference number that takes you nowhere, customer service only states that they cannot tell when the item will be re delivered. It is a never ending horror story. I wonder if this is a scam between DHL and Dai Post since none of them takes responsibility and they are partners.
DHL Delivery Review – Extremely Frustrating Experience My recent experience with DHL has been nothing but disappointing. because my item was “missing.” No help, no responsibility.
Earlier, I had another DHL delivery scheduled to my home. I waited the entire day, but DHL never showed up—yet they claimed they “attempted delivery” and no one was home. That is completely untrue.
Between false delivery attempts and missing parcels, I’ve lost all trust in DHL. I will never rely on DHL again.

You Pay a fortune to get express quality shipping and gets the worst service ever. were transferred (wet) to different boxes and send to me in this messy condition. You can see in the photo below the original packaging and the repacking after damaging the original packing with water. I contacted DHL Australia and they moved me to DHL Egypt and after too many emails to both, they admitted that this was their mistake and that they take the responsibility for what happened. We asked for a compensation to professionally clear and restore the rugs condition, and they started to ask for more info, then ask for the cleaning invoice (which we provided), then ask for products invoice (which we also provided), then asked for an invoice in USD that matches the value we insured the shipment for!! They clearly asked us to forge and invoice to proceed with the claim, and we said we cannot do this they refused to proceed with the claim. A clear theft and worst customer care I had from a courier company that is assumed to have a good reputation.

Huss from Brunswick, VIC is an absolute legend! I live in a difficult area to deliver parcels and often get cards asking me to collect my item from the post office. Huss called ahead of time to let me know that he was on his way, worked with me to organise a good location to meet and delivered my parcel with warmth and a friendly smile. Bloody terrible. They charged me tariff on goods coming from a FTA country and hold my goods hostage with a bevvy of charges, a number of which are dubious and total to more than 15% of the value of the goods, over and above the GST and their original shipping charges. sending payment reminders. After the “final reminder” I call up and spend an hour on the phone with someone who seems to have very little clue what they are doing. They admit my payment was attempted twice, yet no one at DHL attempted to rectify their failed payment system. They make it a bureaucratic maze to try and dispute any charges such as inappropriate tariffs on goods from a FTA country. I’ve had issues every time I have bought something and the seller used DHL. Urgent DHL Express shipment handed to third-party courier, delivery delayed after customs release. be a fast, urgent delivery has now turned into a possible 14-day delivery, with the shipment ultimately ending up in the hands of Australia Post.
This is completely unacceptable for a premium express service. If DHL is no longer able to service certain areas properly, then they need to be honest about that upfront. Do not sell customers an urgent delivery service, charge a premium price, and then quietly hand the shipment to a third party known for slower delivery.
I have spent hours trying to get this resolved, but DHL has refused to deliver directly to my address. For a shipment of this value and urgency, the service has been extremely disappointing.
I would not use DHL again for urgent freight.

numbers i don't recognise so when the deliver rang me I didn't answer and couldn't in anycase as I am unable to have my phone on me during work. At no time prior was I informed that I would be receiving a call. If i had known then arrangements could have been made for me to carry my phone on me. Even a text message could be sent if the receiver doesn't answer. Then when I wanted to redirect the parcel to a collection point it could not be done that day. Ridiculous!!! So now I have to not only go out of my way to collect it when I've paid for delivery, I have to wait not till the next day but three days as it is the weekend. Disgusted in the very poor service. Driver/deliverer really doesn't give any consideration the customer having paid for a premium delivery service. I had no other delivery option from where I purchased the item from otherwise i would have chosen normal postage.
