Dimplex DC10RC / DC12RCBW / DC15RCBW Questions & Answers
VerifiedWhy is my dimplex beeping it shows no error codes just beeping like the same as if the fridge door ia left open
Whilst I have not had this issue myself. I would suggest a filter issue or drainage problem. Have a look and see if there is water stuck inside, or furthermore, perhaps change the filters. Ive never used the heat setting on mine. Ive never had to replace the filters in over 10 years of owning it. Never had any issues. Do you use the heat function? It could be related to that. If not, I have no clue. But just though I could make a couple suggestions in case. Good luck!
Good morning Kenzistormy thank you for your enquiry. Have you checked the drain plugs as this can cause this issue. Thanking you Dimplex.
I just bought a DC12RCBW. I have it on the cooling setting at the lowest temperature of 17°. I've cleaned the filters and the hose isn't blocked and is straight out the window. Does anyone know why it would be blowing cool air out through the hose but hot air is coming from the unit? I've left it on for 30 min and no change.
Hi Danielle, Thank you for reaching out to us. Based on what you have described if hot air is still coming out most likely it is set up the wrong way, see the attached to show why: https://cdn.productreview.com.au/document/thread-message/7f023336-233e-5ecf-a975-8f97822e2755 Thanks
Do you need to put water in them
Hi Richard, thank you for your question. You do not require water in these units for them to operate. Thanks
Can Dimplex please advise what the diameter size of the exhaust is as I have had mine ripped and now need to replace it?
It's diameter is 150mm mate. I think it is around 2 metres long but I have it connected up and not ready to pull it apart.
Is an extension avaialble for The Dimplex DC10RC hose?
Hi Helen, Unfortunately we do not have an extension available. Thanks
When on cold it works then it starts to blow hot air what is wrong with it??
Hi Ian, thank you for your question and I'm sorry to hear of this. Based on what you have described it may be the settings used or the exhaust hose with expelled hot air re-entering the room. Thanks
Just brought a dcp9wt and it keeps short cycling works great for about 1 minute then just blows room temperature air out is this fixable?
Hi Jared, Thank you for your question and I'm sorry to hear of this. I will reach out to you directly. Thanks
Hi there we have one of these and we had it running then went to turn it back on it won’t turn back on we have drained the water plug and made sure nothing is blocking the vents ??
Hello, thank you for your question and I'm sorry to hear of this. Based on what you have described if it powers up and there are no error codes, it could be the start timer function is active. To turn off press the power button to deactivate the timer function. You can also check the overheat protection has not been activated, if it has wait 30 minutes until the temperature has decreased, then turn the air conditioner on again (note: compressor operation begins 3 minutes after the unit is switched on) Thanks
How much is it
Hi Susan, Thank you for your question, Please see the link below to see what pricing is available: external link Thanks
Hi I have a question about the dimplex 4.0 kW multi directional portable aircon with dehumidifier. Can you use the aircon function and dehumidifier function at the same time?
No not that I know of. Just one function at a time.
Hi Kristy, Thank you for your question. The functions are all individual to each other. Thanks
I have DC10RC and recently I tried to use it as dehumidifier but it doesn’t seem to be working. I followed the instruction and connected the middle part of the outlet with a tube into a bucket. Not putting the exhaust out the windows. And put it on to dehumidifier setting and nothing happened. Just blowing cold air out! Is there anything I am doing wrong? Please let me know!
Hi Tom, thank you for your question. When using the dehumidification functions the upper drain plug must be removed and a drain hose must be attached. This video provides a visual: external link If this does not work maybe send through a photo or video to see how you have it set up. Thanks
I have been using the DC10RC for Dehumidifying a room after these persistent rains. I unplugged the top drain, and didn't vent it to the outside air (as I read that that wasn't essential).
I have the bottom drain plugged.
After some time it simply flooded the room wetting the carpet and defeating the point of dehumidifying.
I then emptied the lower drain and found it was absolutely full.
What am I doing wrong: the lower drain is too low to drain into a bucket ongoing. Do I have to vent it when I only want to dehumidify. Shouldn't it turn off when the lower drain is full? I had to take the side off to figure out what was going on....
What i have found with these machines is they quickly fill up with water when there is high humidity. If you don't empty, it just leaks. These machines are supposed to let you know when they are full but they never do. They are faulty and should be recalled the whole lot of them. False advertising. Also stay away from Euromaid washing machines they are also made by Dumplex and are faulty and breaking. POS.
You could try using it normally as you would with the window kit as if you were cooling the room but attach a hose that would fit to the bottom valve. Let the hose out through an opening such as a door or window if possible so the water can trickle outside and not in your house.
Alternatively call them on ph:1300 556 816. Ask them since they make these stupid claims in their manual that can you do this and that. They are supposed to be the experts about their dumb product. Hope you get this sorted.
Hi Barry, Thank you for your question and I'm sorry to hear of this. If been used on dehumidify or heating mode, you should attach a drain hose to the top drain area. This would ensure the unit drains constantly and there won't be a need to use the bottom drain plug (this is dependent on the amount of humidity also). Thanks
Thanks Ruben. That's what I did, I had a drain hose connected to the top drain and a bucket to collect the water but it still flooded the bottom tank. The only thing different was that I didn't vent the warm outgoing air as I had read that it wasn't needed for dehumidifying.
This means that the bottom storage is still filling up even though I have the top drain set up correctly.
What else can I do?
Thanks Barry, I have reached out to you directly. Thanks
It is okay to run the aircon on the fan constantly. ( when it reaches temp it , turns to fan and compressor goes off). As I keep it on, so if it does get hotter the condenser kicks back in. Will that do damage?
Hi Veronica, Thank you for your question. Based on what you have described it shouldn't cause any damage. Thanks
I have one of the dc10rc portable aircon and was just wondering if it’s bad to use the upper drain hose while using it in cooling mode? Instead of having to empty it out when it fills up? Thanks
Hi Scott, Thank you for your question. It can be used that way but it will not run as effective as it generates condensation which it collects and recycles it back up to create the coolness. Thanks
Another thing to watch is the blinking ice icon when turning on the dimplex. If you see this please empty the dimplex of excess water or you will get a "E4" error and the Dimplex won't work till you empty it of excess water.
Can they be regased
Hey, I bought a Dimplex DC10RC system. When I run it on cooling mode, its dripping heaps of water from the small top valve on the side of the machine. The bottom valve on the other side is blocked with a plug. Any ideas how to solve this issue? Thanks
Hello, I need to find a replacement plug for the lower drain hole in a DC10RC What are the dimensions of the whole? Where can I buy a replacement part? Would a replacement drain plug for a DC15 fit in the DC10? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi El Ray, Thank you for your question, the part number for the DC10RC is 310020-0Y-1 and it is compatible with the DC15. You can order part by visiting our on-line webshop @ external link . Thanks
Thank you! Much appreciated!
I have a Dimplex DC10RC I havent used it in 6months. Last night I set it up to dehumidify. Put the hose on to the bucket, put the vent hose on and to the window etc like I always have done. Turned it on and pressed the dehumidify button. And ran it for 3 hours. It spent the whole time with the dehumidify light flashing, the machine itself would run and then go quiet and then start up again a few minutes later, blowing a lot of cold air out into the room and there was no water drained. Any ideas?
Hi Ladybeth, I’m sorry to hear of this. The comments were in relation to another product, I will reach out to your directly to assist. Thanks
Thank you for your time but that really doesn't answer my question or help at all. I am talking about dehumidifying, you don't set a temperature to dehumidify. I have tilted the machine slightly so the hose side is pointing slightly to the ground and it has now started draining correctly and working better. A strange solution, but a solution none the less
I bought the DC10RC around 5 years ago for the A/C function....it was barely better than a fan so after using it less than a dozen times I packed it away and didn't use it again till now. Just turned it on again, hasn't been moved the whole time. The heating function doesn't work. Even on the hottest setting, yes I have the vents on the correct end (AND checked the temperature coming from both ends), and the ambient temp is within the specified range. The air coming out of the unit is not the slightest bit warm after leaving it on for 15mins. Not a bit. What on earth could have stopped working to cause this just by being stored?
Hi Michelle, Thank you for your question and I'm sorry to hear of this. I will reach out to your directly to get some more details. Thanks
Recently changed the mode to heat and switched over the exhaust pipe to the back. Attached a drain hose too. It heats for a little while and then stops and the sun symbol flashes even when it hasn't reached temperature I set yet. I'm no expert but it seems to have a thermostat issue. The vents are clean.
Hi Mel, Sorry to hear this. We will reach out to you directly to get some additional information. Thanks
I’ve unit that’s only a couple of months old and is doing exactly the same thing. If it doesn’t stop all together it comes up with DF on the screen and sounds like it’s working but doesn’t have any air coming out
Hi Alex, Thank you for your question. The DF code normally means that the unit has started running the defrost function. This indicates that the internals are below minimum ambient temperature. It should switch back over once the appliance is back to normal running temperature. Thanks
Thank you mate and what about when it does what Mel described above? It switches off with the heat light flashing?
Thanks Alex. The reason the unit might not be running continuously is that the ambient temperature may be too high i.e. if already at 23deg the unit will not continue to heat continuously but will cut in and out on the thermostat to maintain temp as close to 25deg as possible. Thanks
No mate it’s well under the temp and just cuts out. Any other ideas??
They weren't helpful to me either. So I bought a heater.
Sorry to hear that Mel... your unit didn’t end up working properly??
Not the heating system, no. It's noisy anyway so not ideal for evening tv watching. Thought the cooling system was good but had to buy a heater from Bunnings. This was cheaper than getting a technician even though it's in warranty.
Ah I see! Yes mine seems to do exactly as you’ve described. Working in a temp of 15 degrees and still switches itself off. Not ideal for us as we bought online and live in the country so to get a unit that works correctly is quite the issue
Hi Alex, We will reach out to you directly. Thanks
