If I could give less than one star I would. This company is absolutely hopeless. I’ve had parcels sitting in Brisbane for a week at a time when items were supposed to be sent express. Our address is 1 1/2 hours away in Toowoomba. Truely a terrible company to deal with Show details

Estimated delivery. With a $45 re delivery fee if your not home. Didn't arrive on the day. Day taken off work, wasted. I wouldn't choose this company if I had a choice. The drivers are foreigners. So this cr#p is expected. Just trying to explain where to put it is hard when they have basically no English. Show details

One of the worst delivery companies I’ve ever dealt with. Communication is extremely poor and limited almost entirely to email. There are no proactive updates, no texts, no calls. If a delivery fails, they don’t properly notify you or clearly communicate that your item has been returned to the sender. In my case, they attempted delivery twice in… Read more

February and failed, largely due to this lack of communication. The parcel was then returned to the sender without any notification. I only discovered this a MONTH later after chasing it up myself. After arranging a re-delivery, I specifically requested advance notice. Unfortunately, nothing changed. The only notifications I received were emails—one at 7pm the night before and another at 8:30am the day of delivery. By that time, I had already left for work. Most delivery companies use SMS updates, yet Direct Freight Express seems to only use texting for identity confirmation—not to actually improve the delivery experience. Today (March 17), more than a month after the original delivery date, I realised at lunchtime that the item was supposedly out for delivery. I called to confirm and was told it had not yet been delivered, so I rushed home. Only to find the driver had already come and gone, BEFORE I’d even left. This level of service is unacceptable. Direct Freight Express barely meets the standard of a courier service. Any business choosing to use them risks losing customers—I certainly won’t purchase from a company that relies on them again, regardless of how good their products are. You could call their customer service the only “positive” (though still fairly useless as they don’t call back and provide incorrect information). But they are easy to contact and you speak to someone new each time (how fun!!). Maybe if they focused on improving their delivery process they wouldn’t need to have a “crack shot” customer support team .

Couldn't be bothered to delver to the door – So I have posted a video of the delivery that I received this morning from Direct Freight Express. The gate is not locked but it looks like the driver just couldn't be bothered to check. I tried to locate an email address for the company to complain privately but they don't have one, so I am posting this instead. Anyone could have come past and loaded these into their car. Show details

Received an email stating my parcel was delivered but I had not received it so I called their number and raised a complaint that although they said it had been delivered it had not. The person then verified that the parcel had been delivered but to another address giving me the details and suggested that I should go there and retrieve the parcel.… Read more

I replied that I paid for the parcel to be delivered to me and requested that the driver go and pick up the parcel and deliver it correctly. This was refused and it was said that the driver was heading back to the depot and that they would investigate the matter and it could take up to 48 hours. That was the last that I heard from them, and in the meantime the person who found the parcel at their front door delivered it to me. This company will go on my do not use list as they are as bad as Aramex

I had a surfboard delivered by this company. No notification of when it was going to be dropped off. They literally dump it at my front, i could hear the bang from the opposite side of the house. It was just gonna be left there unattended. Depiste having stickers saying fragile and top load, the was big bend and a hole on the box. They dinged the board. Do not use this service they are careless. Show details

More of a circus run by clowns playing pass the parcel then a transport service. Definitely not fast, reliable or cost effective as they claim ... "Direct Freight Express proudly offers a fast, reliable, and cost-effective national express road transport service right across Australia." Didn't mind the slow service that took 10 days from QLD… Read more

to WA but then they only delivered 1 of the 2 parcels sent and scanned together in QLD. I received the first parcel on the 12th and when they finally found it 3 days later they sent it from Perth depot past my suburb to Bunbury depot 200km away. From there it went past my suburb back to Perth depot and was told would be delivered on the 17th , then on the 18th. Today I see they sent it back to Bunbury 200km away , third time going past my suburb with no delivery date in sight. Now waiting to see where is going to be scanned next , just hope the cardboard box will not wear out from all the loading and unloading before they finally decide to stop playing pass the parcel and deliver it.

Shocking service!!! Parcel from QLD to WA between metropolitan areas took 2 weeks. According to their tracking it was onboard for delivery since 5(!) days when i rang customer service to ask for whereabouts and the lady on the phone told me it was too late for the driver to deliver on day 1, hence why he returned it back to the depot for next day… Read more

delivery (great idea...). Then it got forgotten for the next 4 days UNTIL I RANG, so they got reminded. I asked for prompt delivery the next day and i gave permission to door-drop. She ensured they are going to deliver, but then it took another two days. As expected (i read about it in their reviews) both parcels were damaged, since the heavy parts inside each cardboard box have punched holes through the bottom of the cardboard so you could see inside, evidence of throwing them around recklessly. No visible damage to the goods though, but can only tell during assembly of the vehicle parts I've ordered. If i ever get to choose between courier service, I WOULD DEFINITELY AVOID THEM!!!

5 years of reciecing 6 orders a year (roughly 30 in total) and have yet to have a major issue. unthoughtful delivery drivers.

I have had a small amount of orders be delivered a few days late, hence the 4 stars as opposed to 5.

I will happily choose Express Freight Direct whenever possible, but would heavily consider before using them to ship delicate items (especially if the vendor is too cheap and lazy to label packing on all sides with FRAGILE: HANDLE WITH CARE stickers).

The latest delivery arrived a day earlier than the predicted: 3438090026800 - compared to DAI Post, Direct Freight Express are Voodoo People.

As tracking didn't work product arrived and I discovered it unexpectedly. It was a treadmill that was propped up against a wall UPSIDE DOWN with a large hole in the packaging (marked FRAGILE). I'm totally unimpressed with this company and having read so many complaints, I wonder why selling companies are still using them for deliveries. Show details

Misleading Corporate Image by this organisation saying if its “urgent “ in their on hold phone spiel that they are the people. This is so not the case. In November of 2025 I ordered and paid Tyroola for four tires. Tyroola engaged DFE for the… Read more

delivery. A week passed and no tyres, then the nearest depot advised they had 3 tyres, so they delivered 3 of the four by day 9 into December. The fourth tyre ended up 700 k’s in the wrong direction. The forth tyre was finally delivered xmas eve. What a catastrophic business event, no apology from DFE, No explanation as to why the last tyre took weeks to be delivered. One star is way too much for this company, avoid like the plague! No accurate tracking is available or was available during this crazy failure to meet transport or logistics standards. More than three weeks for a delivery inside of NSW!

Follow-up  · There was no tracking. Their website failed to identify the tracking number link or even copied and pasted. I wasted hours trying everything. When I finally got an employee on the phone, they said it’s not working. They offered no solution other than to tell me they would escalate the matter, that did nothing for resolving anything. One must question why any reputable company would appoint Direct Freight Express as its delivery agent? Particularly in view of the numerous bad reviews about this company The reason DFS provided for failing to deliver our two orders on their… Read more

scheduled delivery dates was that they had outsourced the job to some mickey-mouse third party, whose only contact telephone number had been disconnected, and were therefore only contactable via email. As a result, I was told to "wait 48 hours for a response" However, the real issue is that DFE failed to follow up on this delivery, or to communicate with me, or to even show a modicum of concern for our position. Instead, on my fourth phone call to the DFE Customer Service Desk (a misnomer if there ever was one) I was advised by a patently bored employee that I could "cancel the delivery, no problem" And so I have...to the detriment of the retailer from whom I purchased the goods.

Follow-up  · In answer to the readers' questions: - The items purchased were a 90cm ceramic "Butlers/Farmhouse" sink, taps and accessories, costing in excess of $1100 - After numerous enquiries to the retailer, our refund was finally paid out ONE MONTH after cancellation of the order. - The retailer, Acqua Bathrooms, was hopelessly incompetent; as was Direct… Read more

My order turned up fine within an acceptable time frame and certainly much quicker than the furthest date expected by (28th - item was delivered on the 20th). given that it was attached to a solid chrome item, I just don't understand why it even comes with it to be honest. Maybe it fits on certain similar items but not on the one I needed this chrome replacement part for. They have lazy and fussy drivers that won't deliver to laneways, apartments or anything they think it's annoying on paper. The tracking will say on board and then nothing. Woolies trucks and moving trucks. Apparently lazy driver looked at on Google and said nah I ain't going. Why did you accept my delivery order then in the first place?

Just pay your drivers enough so they can actually deliver or don't accept deliveries if it's too annoying for your drivers.

Unprofessional and a waste of time.
