Communication, transfers, flights, activities all excellent. 5 star luxury hotel turned out to be a self catering apartment that self assessed itself as a 5 star. No official assessment. Called Craig at Discovery who quoted the small print saying not Discoverys problem. Very dissapointed. Never book them again. Show details
Booked a DARWIN all inclusive tour in Oct 25, for 8 Feb 2026, a day before we were to travel i had to confirm tours with travel in Darwin, which when i did was told all tours were cancelled with the exception of City tour, asked tour to be cancelled… Read more
and be refunded, was refused as they maintained they were un aware, ultimately they advised yes, tours all cancelled however unable to cancel tour as flights were prebooked as well as hotel, asked for voucher, was informed not possible, however decided to proceed at least to enjoy our stay there. Hotel provided was mentioned 4 star, but left a lot to my expectations our 51st wedding anniversary was a nightmare . I was told i would be refunded all the cancelled tours by one of their senior Mgrs Mr. Nic, to this date no refund no communication back, rang Nick unavailable, mind you we paid this company in Oct 2025 the full amount. I am still awaiting a refund, be careful if you book and they cancel tour your refund may take ages for no fault of your own. My suggestion is to book directly with Hotel, Airline, and tours as they use 3rd party operators and would cost much cheaper i realised when i was in Darwin and did my own research. MY booking No was 865181 This company is happy and pushes to take your money but when they need to refund to no fault of the client they have excuses etc.
Follow-up · Refund process was long and frustrating and it took nearly 8 weeks to finally get a refund and that is after sending a reminder twice a week. Tours cancelled were Kakadu National Park, Jumping Crocs tour, katherine gorge tour, Dinner cruise tour. Discover Australia was aware of these cancellation by their third parties, but however did not inform… Read more
I am dissapointed about this company which their refund processing. Since 12/2025 we informed them the cancellation because medical condition, up to now they didnt refund and give us no timeframes to wait.
Follow-up · This is Discovery Holiday Max. Since 15/12/2025 we informed and confirmed them about the cancellation and waited for the refund processing but it is still on hold and dont give me the timeframes yet. Even though they emailed me to process this issue with priority and then they told me there are numbers of cases then they cant process promptly. At… Read more

We arranged our holiday on the Murray Princess through Discover Australia. They were a great company to deal with, they arranged all our accommodations and air fares. Great communication, kept us updated on any changes to our plans. Up front on pricing, no hidden costs. Would definitely use them again and recommend to friends and family. Show details
Effortless preparation. Timely information provided all along from booking to the end of the journey. Experience delivered beyond expectations. Recommend highly. Show details
The amenities, staff, food were fantastic! The only down side was the speed at which the train travels in a northerly direction. At times it was too fast causing a severe rocking motion. I did give feedback ro Great Southern Rail. Hopefully they will address the problem. The accomodation was great and in well thought out locations. The time of… Read more
year was chosen so that we could witness the wet season. It was very hot in Alice Springs and Katherine(above 35°). In all a once in a lifetime trip. But we'd do it again I a heartbeat!

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Adelaide and each day's tour we went on. They were all different. Everything was organized perfectly with great accommodation. We felt it was good value for the money paid. In my opinion this is the best way to go on a holiday. Everything done on our behalf and hassle free. Show details

Darwin and Ghan Tour. Great Value and service. When we were in Darwin and had to find our way around we found the Maxi Taxi worked out very cheap for the 6 of us. The Coaches were on time and the drivers were knowledgeable and very accommodating. All the tours we went on were sometimes long days however it was worth it as we saw everything and… Read more
went on more excursions than any of the other companies. Our Accommodation, Meals and drinks was 10 out of 10. The staff were excellent. The Ghan trip was all we imagined it to be. However you are better paying extra and having two singles on the floor as the steps to the top bunks are steep. The Bathroom although small is ample.

Excellent from time of booking thru to end of whitsundays 6 day trip. Accommodation was superb, tour to great barrier was longer than expected but food supplied was excellent. Trip to Whitehaven beach was wonderful a truly sunning beach. Crocodile tour was ok, not many crocodiles out and about and extremely hot. Barbecue lunch and Billy tea… Read more
good. Would be great if a bit longer and have a couple of days relaxing as busy tour. Flights delayed to and from prosperine but that was the airline. Found discover australia helpful all the way through and won't hesitate to use them in the future.

A fabulous five days in the NT with Discover Australia Holidays. Tour guides, buses accommodation and efficiency. Everything ran smoothly and our tours particularly the full day tours to Litchfield and Kakadu, were amazing. My husband has limited mobility but they helped wherever they could. Highly recommend this tour company. Show details

Coorong.Life Retreats | Off grid, KipPods, South Australia SA My Review of The Coorong Life Stay. My Wife and I have just come from a quick stay at Coorong Life. From the moment we met with Kate, and she showed us around, we were just amazed at the presence of nature, even the drive in we had a family of 5 Emus greeting us. This is a little… Read more
hidden gem, within 2 hours approximately from Adelaide. The accommodation in the KipPod / Tiny House was just perfect and quaint. The massive round window in the KipPod overlooks a lagoon and beyond to the actual Coorong Breath, breathtaking and at night looking out to the stars. At first, we said there were no blinds to pull down for privacy, Then realised that's it, connecting with nature 24/7. Sunrise is your clock, and as night falls, the sunset lets you know the time and looking out the round window, it's magic. If you want seclusion, you could easily not see anyone. you are left to your own devices. I hesitated writing this review for the fear that too many others would know about this place. and we would find it difficult to rebook. But it's just so nice we had to tell.
The property that the KipPods are on is the old Alby Mangels property, and Kate is more than happy to show you around and share some stories about it.
Thanks again, Kate. Hope you remember us when you get run off your feet with bookings, hope you will squeeze us in.
Thanks again for letting our Dog (Biko) come and stay, she loved it as well.
all the best, Simon and Sue

with no way of joining the Rottnest island tour we paid for. Phone is not answered, emergency email bounces with mailbox full error.
Follow-up · Even though our emails bounced back we eventually had a call from Discover Australia, who then sent through an email with travel details for Rottnest. All bookings had been made, just not communicated with us. Very stressful to turn up at hotel etc and hope there was a room for us.

late to change without cost. Consequently, we had to pay a fair amount out of pocket to fly later. Other than that, I would book another holiday in the future with this company. Recommend
Follow-up · Booking was easy. Tours very well organised with good communication. Accommodation was beautiful. Loved it!!

enjoyable with plenty of choices. The food and wine on board was exceptional as was the service. The only downside was the Terrace Hotel in Adelaide certainly not the standard of accommodation we were expecting. We also unfortunately left a camera on the bus that transported us to our Darwin hotel. We reported it as soon as we realised, we didn’t hear anything further sadly.
Follow-up · The Darwin Hotel was excellent, great location, the buses were very good and modern and clean, drivers very knowledgeable, the excursion choices on the Ghan were exceptional and very well organised. Unfortunately we didn’t get our camera back hence having to purchase a replacement.

This was a wonderful holiday which began with the two and a half day Ghan trip from Adelaide north to Darwin, followed by a range of comprehensive visits to national parks and around Darwin itself (including its harbour) over the following five… Read more
days. The holiday progressed in almost exactly the same way as advertised in the various publications viewed prior to booking right down to meals, excursions, accommodation and actual costs. Any additional expenditure over and above that included within the package was absolutely minimal. The Ghan itself, keeping in mind this is a relatively old train, was otherwise really terrific, as was the interaction with our fellow Gold class passengers in the lounge and meal coaches. The Gold class accommodation is a tight fit, and your first few hours on board requires a degree of space management understanding (choreography?) with your partner to keep out of each other's way, but it is entirely manageable - and keep in mind the majority of your time on board will be spent in the lounge and dining coaches. My only other relatively minor comment is that there is a tremendous amount of activity crammed into those eight or nine days and towards the last couple of days we became a little tired, but otherwise this was a really fantastic overall trip and highly recommended.
Follow-up · (1) Both Litchfield and Kakadu National Parks were excellent and well worth visiting but Kakadu just shaded Litchfield a tad due to the Aboriginal rock art on display there, the infrastructure provided to enable you to see it and the stunning location itself - all were extremely impressive. (2) Food provided for Gold Class on the Ghan was really… Read more
We recently completed a 6 day "Dynamic Package" trip to Perth with Swan Valley, however I arranged and paid for our own flights as did not wish to arrive at 11pm to midnight to be ready for a 7.30am departure the next morning for first day trip, as they usually book the cheapest flights. The "superior 4 star" hotel was not superior at all -… Read more
foyer, bar and dining areas clean and tidy but our room was very dated (bathroom from the 1980s) and the bathroom dirty with mould in the shower. The tours, both bus and river cruises, are outsourced to different suppliers so the descriptions of the tours provided by Discover Australia do not match the actual tours provided by the suppliers, as they don't update their website descriptions. You need to go to the actual suppliers' websites to get accurate descriptions of the tours, some of which do not meet expectations. The actual suppliers of tours were very good with up to date websites. Also, some of the tours are not designed for the "physically challenged", who are unable to walk the distance from bus drop-offs the the actual tourist attraction, or they are expected to climb stairs - with no alternative arrangements provided - something that is not catered for by this company.
From the start of booking our trip to Cairns and Port Douglas appeared well organised and we were kept up-to-date on most matters. A change to the fight times from Melbourne to Cairns was okay but we should have changed to another flight had we realised another flight time would have been more suitable. The arranged tours were very good and not… Read more
stressful with good tour guides/drivers. We met some very nice fellow travellers. The accommodation at Cairns was basically terrible. The room was not clean and was well past it's used by date even though the hotel appeared to be undergoing renovations. They would not let us upgrade to a better room when we requested. The hotel lacked many of the usual items you would expect. No phone, clock and was not very secure. The restaurant used for the included breakfast was worse than the hotel. The accommodation at Port Douglas was totally different. It was clean, comfortable and met our needs very well. A restaurant attached to the hotel would have been nice but the arrangement to use a nearby restaurant was okay. Overall, we had a very good holiday with Discover Australia and will look at utilising them again for future tours.

Promoted an 8 day Murray Cruise deal for less than $2000 including flights and many other extras. Of course when they ring back, they are all sold out (as expected). This type of marketing is just aimed at getting you on their mailing list. They may or may not have some good packages but appear to be using unethical marketing tactics. Note that this company has terrible reviews on TripAdvisor. Show details

A lovely surprise itinery awaits when you book. The most exciting for me was the day to Bruny Island catching the boat, taking in the unbelievable cliff faces. I appreciated the Port Arthur visit as i well remember the massacre and now the memorial set behind the old cafe. The week was packed with interesting days, visiting the Mona Gallery, and the Gardens.
