It’s two faced, but it sucks good – Had mine for a couple years now, still going well. It is however most ugly vacuum I’ve ever owned… Every time I look at it I’m disturbed with the two buttons that look like eyes. If you look at it one way, you have Cheech and the other way round, there is Chong with his long face. It does the job of picking up my dogs hair without too much hassle. I’m the issue with my long human hair tying up the rollers. Show details

Do not buy! – Got this vacuum 6 months ago and within 3 weeks we lost suction, we got it fixed and now the engine sounds like it's misfiring and there's a burning smell. We won't buy a hoover again. Show details

If this can pick up cat litter on an old part-shaggy carpet, it can pick up anything (including pet hair) – Finding a vacuum that would pick up pet litter on my old carpet seemed impossible. I thought the only one that could do the job was one that the professionals use which would have been clearly out of my reach financially. Then, I heard about the Hoover Dog & Cat Turbo Bagless T4008. It has 1800W & comes with accessories. I had never had a… Read more

bagless vacuum before. Something I really like about it is that you can see what you've picked up without having to dump the dirt out of a bag, in case it sucked up something you might have lost. It's not the greatest colour (gray with touches of orange) but who cares, it worked. I was gobsmacked! This beaut little maching actually picked up every piece of kitty litter in one swoop just like the ones professionals use. I didn't even have to go over & over the carpet. It also does a great job of picking up cat fur. The orange round piece on the top is to turn whatever speed you want. The speed isn't marked as slow, medium or fast. It's a smooth turn that puts the user in control. It lets you decide whatever speed is comfortable for you. Of course, the higher the speed the noisier it becomes. I actually like vacuuming now. I have seen this vacuum listed at over $200, but as of this writing (16-8-2019) Godfreys is selling it for $139. Amazon AU; MyDeal; & Catch are each selling it for a very cheap $98. If this vacuum can pick up all the pieces of cat litter on my very old part-shaggy carpet, it can pick up anything. With the Father's Day sales on now, don't let this little gem pass through your fingers. I think the Hoover Dog & Cat Turbo is fantastic!

Lasted 2 years exactly – In regards to the way it did its job, I cannot fault this vacuum cleaner. It cleaned carpet extremely well with the turbo head & picked up all the cat hair and dust so well. Now, I bought this in February of 2017. I used this vacuum cleaner every fortnight to clean my 2 bedroom apartment. I used it correctly, cleaned it out after every use. Stored… Read more

it away properly. Lo and behold, in February of 2019 (2 years exactly), it suddenly stops working. Of course, it only comes with a 1 year warranty. I emailed Hoover Floor Care Australia, & they told me I'd have to pay Godfreys $20 to just LOOK at it, because it was outside of warranty. The case is now with the ACCC, so I'm awaiting their response. I took the vacuum cleaner back to Godfreys, so that they can recycle it as it was no further use to me. It saddens me that companies like Hoover, who were once known for quality products, seemingly manufacture goods in a low quality way, with the intent of having the goods malfunction, so consumers have to spend more money. In my circumstance however, this has been a valuable lesson. I will no longer purchase any Hoover products, & I will 'talk back' with my money. I will not recommend Hoover to my friends, family, and I will review this product on online platforms accordingly. My next vacuum cleaner purchase will be made factoring in the country of manufacture (NOT China), as well as other online reviews, & warranty information. We now have the ability to make an impact on how corporations treat us, use your money wisely, because that is all they want from you.

Great machine at a great price – So I would be nitpicking to say that there really is anything wrong with this washing machine. Having said that I am also used to having cheap vacuum cleaners from Kmart and target which seem to last a while but their attachments and accessories seem to be made out of chalk and they just break so easy. Targets latest vacuum has a spelling mistake… Read more

on it so I definitely could not buy that because the fact that target think that suction power is spelt “suncoin Power” and have put it above the power selector would do my OCD in big time. And for a vacuum from Kmart with a turbo brush was going to cost me the same price as this Hoover so naturally I thought it would probably best that I go to the Hover. Now I read the reviews from the Godfrey site in regards to this vacuum cleaner and most people were complaining about the length of power cord. This is about the only thing that I personally could complain about. For the power of the machine I was so impressed by the suction, or in Targets language,”Suncoin”. I thought that the first time I used it would be in my couch, that used to get vacuumed every second day and I could not believe how much dust and yuck was trapped in the waste bin. It honestly looks like this couch had never been a clean and a day in its life it wasn't just that they was dust in there there was actually like clumps of what I would only assume is dust and dead skin cells. I've only had this machine for about a month having said that I vacuumed every day because I bleach my floors every day I also vacuum the couch every second day and I vacuum the mattresses once a week when they get the new linen put on them so it gets used a fair bit. It's filter set up is not the best but it does filter quite well. I guess for the price it's just a new vacuum with old technology. All the tools that come with it are of good quality and seem to be quite sturdy. The clear cover of the turbo brush comes off so you can actually get around the brush to get any hair or rubbish out that you need to and to me this seems like such a great idea as I have seen other expensive brand names that don't have the same removable cover. It's easy to empty and wheels around easy. It's not heavy yet feels quite strong. I'm very happy about it. If I could I would give it a 4.5 star rating just based on the short power cord but I have to drop it to a 4 as I can't give it that extra half that I think it deserves.

Total rating (more stars being ideal)

Weight: 5/5 - more stars means lighter

Suction: 5/5 (Suncoin)

Quality: 5/5

Ease of use: 5/5

Noise: 4.5/5

Power cord: 3.5/5

Tools: 5/5

Price: 5/5

Total: 4.5/5

Best vacuum ever, 3 cats and I have thick carpet – I use this with the rotating head on carpet and omgsh it is FABULOUS! I've had mine for about 3 years with zero issues. Strong suction, and the nob can be adjusted for less suction. Hoover Cat & Dog Turbo is terrible – In Greek mythology, Sisyphus was punished by Hades and condemned, for all eternity, to force a rock up to the top of a mountain every day only to have it roll back down to the bottom every time it neared the top. A vacuum cleaner that really does the job – I purchased this vac about 2 years ago and it has made cleaning my huge house a breeze. Excellent vacuum for the price – I use this vacuum in the house on carpet, vinyl and furniture, as well to vacuum my car interior. For the price (I paid $149 at Godfreys), it is excellent. The model I bought is 1800W and has excellent suction. It isn't too loud either. The dust chamber is easy to empty, except I find the hose connecting to it gets stuck when I remove it. The HEPA… Read more

filter needs to be washed regularly because the dust builds up in it and the vacuum loses suction. I think a vacuum with a bag is best for pet hair; it provides better suction and keeps the dust out of the filter for longer. The only other issue I have with it is it can be tricky to change the attachments to the hose, they tend to get stuck. All in all, I think this vacuum is great for the price. I live in an old house with lots of pet hair and it keeps the place clean. No bags is a plus for me to reduce environmental waste.

Great suction. Cheap and nasty parts – Purchased in the January sales. Nearly took it back the same day as suction was terrible. THEN I noticed a dial that adjusts vacuum intensity. It's great. You think it is good until you actually use soemthing else after it! – Had this vacuum and it appeared OK to the naked eye, it appeared I had vacuumed but what I noticed is that the cat hair on my carpet was reappearing almost overnight (my guess was that it was still deep in the carpet and lifting). Literally the worst vacuum I’ve ever used – Suction was extremely poor from the start, now it just gets blocked constantly. Makes a 10 minute job take an hour, I can’t stand it. I’ve only had it 4 months, and have only been using it on barely messy carpets. Show details

Great power – I have only had this vacuum for a couple of months but love it so far. Excellent vacuum shame nowhere to clip / store the hose – Neat vacuum, very easy to move and great colour with a very powerful suction which is great with collecting cat and dog hairs and firballs. weakling – i do not mind the short cord i do not mind the speed at which it fills up I like thats its light and quiet what I dont like is thats too weak to do much good with the cats hair. I do not like the turbo head constantly jamming I did not the turbo head breaking Suction is underpowered for its 1800 watts and the turbo head causes a large part of that power to be used up by rotating the brush. Don’t waste your money or time – Whoever designed this does not own dogs, Turbo head is very weak, suction very poor, parts are very flimsy. bag less chamber several times during one session & when you do you will need long nose pliers to reach down into the chamber to pull the hair out as the hole that’s leads to the large chamber is so small that it clogs within minutes. I have a short haired border collie who is brushed regularly therefor there isn’t a lot of hair being shed in the house but it’s still enough to clog it.

It is average at best on hardwood floors but the turbo head barely rotates on carpet or hardwood.

The chord is so short that you will be plugging it in in each individual room.

I vacuum 2 rooms with carpet & the rest is hardwood but it just took me over an hour to vacuum my small house.

If you have the money buy a Sauber. Expensive but the Sauber has power & a turbo head that almost sucks your carpet up. My last Sauber lasted me almost 7 years and unfortunately I had to downgrade due to finances but wish I’d saved my money and not bought the Hoover “dog and cat”

The 5016 Dog & Cat Turbo is a much better machine. The 5 metre cord is far more convenient and the choice of heads is very good. The dust container is huge compared with the previous and the filters are larger and easier to clean. It's more powerful and I only set the power to 50% which is ample for our place. Yes I'm happy apart from a design problem which was also evident on the old machine. The wheels protrude about 10mm outside of the body of the machine which means it jams when pulling through a doorway or around table legs. That's damn annoying. That aside, It's a good, powerful cleaner.
