I bought a .99c course from them but unbeknownst to me that also sign you up to an annual subscription of $329 USD. What sort of third rate company has a business model based on such deception? Scammers.
They are a trap. Suck you in with a "free" months prescription and discounted courses only to automatically enrol you in a YEARS Subscription. $580AUD automatically Debited from my account once the month was up. Forced to pay for a year for a service that I barely touched, only accessing a $1.40 course. I don't care how transparent they think they are with these automated responses, they are taking advantage of people.
This is a large platform that provides online training courses - including art. I have some friends that have been happy with their purchases and had no problems. I purchased (paying with PayPal for extra protection) a $1 painting course (normal courses range upwards from $5) and received it. It wasn't exactly what I wanted so I only did the first… Read more
stage of the course. 30 days later PayPal advised that they had paid Domestika - from my account - A$588 for annual membership. I had seen no indication of this when purchasing the initial course. On searching, I found that I had received an email notifying me of the potential payment a week before it was made, but it had unfortunately gone to my junk mail. I attempted to get a refund as I had no intention of ever purchasing any more online courses - this was my first, and the mechanics of my computer location at home made it impractical. Eventually Domestika advised (yet again) that as I had (unknowingly) entered into a contract with them, they had a no refund policy. This email from Domestika arrived at the same time I was seeking a refund via PayPal, and they rejected it using the same contract clause. I have contacted my bank who pay my PayPal accounts, who are following up, but I hold little hope, as they will be trying to get the funds from PayPal. I subsequently checked Trustpilot website (which I obviously should have done initially) to find hundreds of abysmal reviews. Even the initial AI overview on Google Search mentions the high rate if dissatisfaction. It has been an expensive lesson (PayPal at least assisted my in preventing any further payments being made to them). I am 80 this year, have health issues and upcoming medical bills. This seems so unfair. I couldn't find the initial documentation of my course purchase, but many others say there was either well hidden - or not existent - mention of joining the premium annual membership at purchase. I feel so sorry for people who have been scammed for huge amounts, but even this significant amount leaves an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. I can only spread the info as much as possible. Takeaway - Please steer well away from Domestika. A short follow up. I am delighted to say that the scam team at NAB came good and arranged for the full refund. I wonder if it is was partly due to my negative views on a number of platforms. Domestika were obviously aware of them as the tried to friend me on facebook - after refusing the refund. If you have been scammed, then don't give up, and do everything within your power to get your just refunds. It's about time governments and authorities banned this membership by default scheme from operating at all. And Paypal should not automatically make payments to organisations that have been publicly red flagged, without getting permission from the account holder.

This platform is a total scam – stay away! I’m a student and only paid for two videos. Without my consent, they charged me $360 for a yearly plan I never agreed to. No warning. No notice. No option to stop it. And the worst part? They refuse refunds, even if you reach out immediately. There’s no phone number, only ignored emails. This is… Read more
predatory behavior and deeply unfair, especially toward students and young artists. If this is how they “support artists,” it’s nothing but exploitation. Do not trust them.
Domestika’s communication around its Plus membership is misleading and designed to trap customers into huge, unwanted charges. After purchasing a course, you are automatically enrolled in a 30-day free trial of their Plus membership without consent. Near the end of the trial, they send an email stating you have 7 days left, but it’s carefully… Read more
worded (likely with legal input) to suggest you only need to act if you wish to continue the membership. This creates the false impression that no action is needed to avoid being charged. As a result, many users are unknowingly billed $580 for a full year of a service they neither intended to use nor agreed to pay for. I would recommend staying away from Domestika and their borderline fraudulent actions.
Domestika really disappointed me. I initially liked the platform and decided to test it with a $1.99 course. Unfortunately, the course wasn’t what I expected, I didn’t finish it, and I forgot to cancel before the month ended. Without any warning, they charged me for a full annual plan I never intended to purchase. I contacted them twice once… Read more
directly and once through PayPal and received no response at all. This lack of support and the no-refund policy show a clear disregard for the consumer. I will never use Domestika again and I do not recommend it to anyone.
Hi everyone, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a rather disappointing experience I've had with Domestika in hopes of cautioning others. Recently, I purchased one of their £0.99 online courses, thinking it was a great deal. However, to my dismay, I discovered that this seemingly innocent purchase had somehow signed me up for a… Read more
year-long subscription, costing a staggering £269, which they had just taken from my bank account.
Naturally, I was shocked and immediately reached out to Domestika, explaining that this was clearly a mistake and expressing how shaken I was by the unexpected charge. I pleaded with them to please refund the amount, but the only response I received was a reference to their terms and conditions, stating that they don’t offer refunds.
I emailed them again in hopes of resolving this issue, but it has been radio silence from their end ever since. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and has left me feeling deceived. So, I wanted to send out a warning to anyone considering purchasing anything from Domestika – be very careful, as you might end up being conned into a costly subscription without your knowledge.
Please consider this a cautionary tale and exercise due diligence before making any purchases. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Tricked me! – I bought a couple of courses. For like A$7.99 per course. But they are mostly not in English with poor language or translation. They kept advertising new courses and from time to time would I would click on those. Suddenly today I was charged A$200. When I contacted them they said I had clicked on a subscription link when I clicked on a Facebook… Read more
ad. And that it was a 30 day free and then annual subscription. With this massive upfront payment. And that they have a no-refund policy. So tough! At no stage was there a clear warning that if you click here, you are subscribed and will be charged. So they “sign you up” in a very disingenuous way. Be very careful!! And because they do it via their site, this newly acquired “subscription” does not show up in the list of Apple Account subscriptions, which I check regularly.

I signed up for what looked like a ~$50 course trial for 2 dollars and was later charged ~$600 AUD for an annual subscription that was not clearly disclosed. This has been a very stressful experience. Please be extremely careful before signing up.
I did not have a good experience with Domestika Plus. I was charged $559 AUD for an annual subscription without clear warning that the renewal period was due and that the price had increased significantly from the previous year (nearly doubled!). I contacted customer support immediately requesting a refund and received either generic responses or… Read more
a refusal, despite not using the service after renewal. The auto‑renewal process is not transparent, and the refund policy is extremely rigid. This is disappointing for a creative learning platform, and I would strongly recommend others read the fine print before subscribing. I would not subscribe again. I would prefer to give no stars to Domestika. If you sign up for a course, they will charge you a very expensive subscription a month later. This occurs without prior warning or any information. Their website is misleading if not purposely deceptive. Stay away from Domestika.

Beware, it's a scam! I had the same experiences as many did before me. I regret not looking at the reviews first. Domestika uses deceptive practices. Would give 0 stars if I could right? After reading everything that was said here, it totally checks out. Now here's the thing, I actually cancelled my trial subscription and yet this still happened. I was still charged the $300 USD. They sent me an email response to say that I may have forgotten to cancel it. NO I DEFINITELY CANCELLED IT!
Took $570 out of my account on Christmas eve. Won't respond to my emails despite causing financial hardship. All I received was some automated email. Other than that, no response. Im a single mum and this has caused a lot of problems financially for me. I feel scammed
I am very dissatisfied with my experience with Domestika. Unlike my purchases on Udemy (I have more, than on Domestika, and this is not a coincidence), where I never encountered any deceptive practices, Domestika has failed me on two separate occasions. Because of this, I have decided never to buy from them again. They charged me a substantial… Read more
amount during a time when I was in urgent need of those funds. As a European consumer, I have the legal right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days under EU consumer protection laws. Unfortunately, Domestika deliberately obstructed my attempt to exercise this right, which I consider a serious violation of these regulations.
I strongly urge potential customers to be cautious when purchasing from Domestika until they demonstrate respect for consumer rights and improve their business practices.
I paid 99c for a course and was charged almost 300 dollars for a subscription I never agreed to. No terms were shown. No trial was shown. sudden charge. The same refusal. This looks like a pattern.
People should be warned. A simple 99c purchase turned into a charge for a service I never chose, never used, and never approved.
I purchased a course for $6.99 and was actively misled into and unknowingly commited to an annual subscription of $560 aud. When trying to contact for a refund their customer support was an absolute joke only receiving automatic emails in my requests for more information. They are intending to take advantage on consumers and have lodged a complaint with the ACCC and disputed the transaction with my bank. Do not use this service
Please be aware of this fraudulent company.l!! They have deducted over $300 USD from my account, and it has been impossible to reach a human to get a refund or at least just be charged for the month. I have no idea where to go to ask for help. They operate in a terrible way. I can't even remember signing up for the trial; I was just trying to purchase a course that cost $0.99! The course I bought was absolutely rubbish; I didn't even finish it! There aree hundreds of comments about these bullies ripping off people. This situation has caused so much stress and anxiety, and they have set an operational model in which people can't be assisted and listen to by replacing their customer service with Ai!!! I Hope this review helps people avoid buying something from them!
Domestika charged me $586 for a year-long membership, after signing up for a cheap course to try it out, because they then charge for "Domestika Plus". Sent an email, explaining the circumstances (not high income plus multiple disabilities) and their response was less than satisfactory. Greedy company.

Same experience, these guys are sneaking a one year subscription together with the cheap courses and they rely on the people not noticing the subscription. problems to mine. This company employs sneaky tactics to trap its customers into renewing their subscriptions. This is an unscrupulous business that prefers to trap its customers into paying for something they don't want. Reputable companies don't need to use these kinds of cheap tactics.
Looked at a trial course that was offered as free for a few weeks, was mildly interesting but not worth the money. obviously had not even tried to log into the course again because I had performed the cancellation process. They sent an automated reply telling me to check the terms and conditions of cancelling, and that they would not take any action to fix this mistake. I have filed a fraud charge against this company and plan to fight this predatory behavior. STAY AWAY. Their cancellation process is complicated on purpose and has no solid way of confirming cancellation, it is clear they do not have faith in their courses and have to rely on gray legal areas where they trap people by not allowing them to quit, even when the person does everything they are required to do. I hope they are prosecuted for this highly unethical behavior and are shut down. They give all other online learning platforms a bad name. My goal is to make sure no other victims offer any payment information to Domestika, as they will abuse trust and effectively steal from people just trying to learn a new skill online.
I was absolutely shocked to find a $329 USD charge taken from my PayPal account for a Domestika Plus auto-renewal without any prior notice or reminder. blue. I had that money set aside for essential bills, and this charge has caused me serious financial stress. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. It’s left me feeling sick and taken advantage of. I will never use Domestika again, not even for a $1 course and I strongly warn others to be extremely cautious when signing up.
Scam run. This guys are disgraceful getting rich over us. They offer you a subscription and after months charge you 150aud from your bank account and if you complain cry whatever they got your money and they don't care about their reputation. It's a scam run
If you have an issue with a payment or money deducted for a subscription, look out. DOMETIKA will avoid answering your emails and messages. you'll get an automatic response only. Only after more than a week of sending emails and messages, I finally get an answer through Instagram and the result: No Refund. Even explaining to them that a Plus subscription causes financial hardship, the answer from Domestika is still: No Refund. I asked to escalate my request to someone senior, that can make a decision; they went silent. They don't care if you can afford to pay or not, they just want the money.Their refund policy for plus subscriptions is to never refund.
I wish I had of checked this sight before hand.
My Experience with Domestika’s Plus Membership I want to share my recent experience with Domestika, as I believe their practices around the Plus membership are misleading and potentially designed to trap customers into paying for something they never intended to purchase. had been automatically enrolled in a 30‑day free trial of Domestika Plus.
Domestika claims they send reminder emails before the trial ends so customers can cancel if they don’t want to continue. However, I never received the critical reminder email that was supposedly sent 7 days before the trial expired. Without that notice, I had no reason to believe I needed to take action to avoid being charged.
When the 30‑day trial ended, I was billed a huge annual fee for a membership I never wanted — hundreds of dollars, completely out of line with the small one‑off purchase I had originally made.
I find this approach deceptive and unfair. The combination of automatic enrollment without clear consent, ambiguous communication, and the absence of the promised reminder feels like a deliberate strategy to secure unwanted subscriptions.
Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others against purchasing from Domestika. Their practices around the Plus membership appear borderline fraudulent, and the lack of transparency has left me with an expensive, unwanted subscription

are nothing short of stealing - if not criminal! They have turned in a SCAM company and PayPal is no better by continuing to back and support them, despite being aware that many people all over the world have had the same thing happen, and reported it to them. I have spent many frustrating hours trying to reach a real person at Domestika and PayPal but have had to resort communicating to a bot. The only reason I wasn't robbed is because I didn't have enough money in my account - maybe a better business model would be to target financial advisors - not starving artists. I filed a complaint with PayPal thinking they would be my safety net (it's why I signed up for them in the first place) but it got shut down literally within minutes with no way to prove or discuss my case. Shame on Domestika and PayPal for preying on a creative community who are just trying to bring some beauty into the world. Don't pay for a single Domestika video or it will open the door to these thieves!
