I have a Dorf Kytin kitchen mixer which has become a little loose where it sits on the benchtop, causing the whole unit to swivel when we move the gooseneck spout to the left or right. How can I tighten it up? Thanks in advance :)

Basically, the unit is held in place by a long stud that goes from the bottom of the unit, under the sink. A fixing plate is pushed up over the stud from underneath and held in place by a nut. As you tighten the nut, the fixing plate is held against the underside of the sink and pulls the main part of the mixer down against the sink. Here is the guide that shows how the mixer is fitted external link . Look at parts 12, 13, 15 and 16 in particular. You should not need to take the tap out but simply tighten the nut (15). The tricky bit is getting under the sink with the correct type of spanner. You can pick these up in Bunnings, who also sell the Kytin mixer. Good luck.

I have a Dorf Kytin Gooseneck and the right hand tap is loose. How do I tighten it?

If the handle is loose then it means that the screw holding it on has become loose. To access the screw, first unscrew the the thin chrome metal disc, located on the outside edge, anticlockwise. It can be difficult to unscrew the disc but try gripping it with a dry thin cloth. If you have a rubber glove then that may also work. Don't use pliers or any metal tool as it will damage the surface of the disc. Once you have the disc off, the screw holding the handle will be easy to see. Tighten with a phillips head screw driver. Then replace the flat disc by screwing it back on. Don't cross thread it. The best way to avoid cross threading is to first screw the disc anticlockwise just a little until it feels like it has seated in the thread. This works for both the hot and cold handles.
