Useless crap!!!!! stay well away!!!!! – We had this unit installed at our new home. Worked fine for about 18 months, but it blew the joining pipe between the 2 panels- the pipes coming out of the panels are very short not much room for the olive ring to seal on!!! Now just as we are coming into winter this year, I now notice our frost valve is leaking even though the temps around 10… Read more

degrees. Bought a new one & installed but its still opening to early.....need to investigate more.

I think the money I spent on the solar hot water system would have been better spent on a basic hws & solar power system & let it pay for the heating during the day!!!!

Dux Rubbish – Had a Dux Sunpro Solar system installed September 2011. Anti frost valve required replacing in March 2014, less than 3 years from new - my cost $363. It appears Dux 5 year warranty on collectors doesn't include anything that fails. Now 2 years later, anti frost valve is leaking profusely again. Looking at having system removed as it is cheaper to run an electric system than to maintain Dux rubbish. Be warned. Allan

Just don't do it ! – We built a new house and moved in Nov 2014. We had little choice in the solar system provided by Mc Donald Jones. We have the Dux Electric Boosted Solar.( serial number 1203053000GH) It's 18 months old . Last week I went outside to hear water pouring off the roof - we are on tanks and lost 20,000 L of water before we could stop it - we had been… Read more

away. I rang Dux for assistance and found that all they were interested in telling me was that it wasn't covered by original 12 month warranty and that I would have to pay to have the problem diagnosed , and any costs incurred in repair. We did that and found that the anti frost valve (surprise suprise ) was faulty. It cost us $150 for plumber to come to our house, $140 for the part for replacement part and $200 for tanker to bring the water to replace that we lost. We live in the country so none of this was easy and I'm not keen to do it again when next part fails. We all know the part is faulty yet we are forced to replace with another faulty part setting ourselves for this all to happen again.

The customer ( non) service depart would not assist me other than repeating the mantra that they are not responsible for items out of warranty. The customer service is the most appalling I have ever encountered. I questioned them about statutory warranty which makes them responsible for providing a unit which fails in a period of time which would be considered unfair in the eyes of a reasonable person. These units cost thousands of $$$. It's 18 months old . Customer service women didn't want to discuss that at all. After reading all these reports on the failures occurring with the parts of these units I am keen to pursue the matter with the Dept Fair Trading - looks like it would make a perfect class action based on the number of issues reported here . These units are faulty, known to be faulty, proved to be faulty and yet the supplier refuses to compensate consumers in a reasonable manner.

Frost Valve Fail - Caleffi 603040 – Two big water bills and two failed valves all within installation of Sept 2011. How many valves at $185 each do we have to purchase to stop this waste of water and our money. Very unhappy with Dux Sunpro.

You can't complain about the service. Their is none – My dux sunpro with electric boost was installed on 21/12/2010. My first electricity bill was higher than when i was running my old straight electric hw system. I had the booster switch installed in the kitchen and the booster was left 'off' unless it was really required. This worked economically. Last winter i noticed that my pressure pump was… Read more

running quite often in middle of the night. Upon investigation i discovered the the hot logic pump was running 24/7 and once the storage tank was cold the frost sensor on the roof panels was allowing inlet water to circulate through the panels and then onto the roof. By morning the water in the storage tank was stone cold- just what you want in the middle of winter. I called the dux advice line and was given a list of businesses that could service my hw system. I called the three i was given and they all said that they no longer serviced dux products because dux were too hard to deal with and wouldn't honour their warranty. I called dux again and was given the name of anther service agent in my area. They have gone broke and shut up shop. I called the toowooba solar centre who said the don't deal with dux normally but because i was desperate they would send someone to see if they could do anything for me. We guess what, that was two months ago and they haven't been back either. No body wants to service dux products. So people do yourself a favor and don't buy a dux product. I'm now faced with having to replace my four year old hot water service with something else. Solarhart is looking good.
