unit, please see my other posts about the review of this model. I called out JR Gas & Water to replace the serviceable anode and PTR valve, the anode & PTR valve looked a little wear, perhaps I could of replaced it in another 6-12mths, water hardness is mid range here and shows with the wear on the anode & valve. All up about $450 service. Recommended you replace especially if water hardness in your area is mid to high range. Other than that the unit is running great with no issues.

refilled the tank with peak electricity and somehow still managed to deliver only cold water for a $6k energy bill. CATASTROPHIC SCAMMERS SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. I have a worthless heap of junk on my roof - maybe the problem could've been easily rectified - I can't afford another bill to find out. Endless phone calls and messages - I tried countless times for months, years. This was an expensive system. I would've had more hot water from a kettle. Even my skilled electrician couldn't get the junk to work. Tried a booster button and it still just dumped any warm water it heated with the peak electricity. It doesn't take much to answer a phone or a message on a website - THAT TELLS YOU EVERYTHING - THEY REALLY, TRULY DON'T GIVE A DAMM ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY.

I try to get some solution from envirosun the customer service man hung up on me as he said " I wasn't listening to him" It was very disrespectful how he spoke to me. This leaves me with no way to find if this much water loss is normal and how I am meant to redirect the water as the plumber didn't even mention this little fact. These systems are very noisy too if folk like peace. I would not recommend this product and definitely not this company.

support, I was told the warranty was void because I hadn’t completed a 5-year service—something that was never disclosed or explained at the time of sale.
NeoPower refused to take any responsibility and offered no resolution. For a product marketed as long-lasting and reliable, this is extremely disappointing. Their warranty policy is vague and unfair, and customer service was dismissive and unhelpful.
I also visited the NeoPower website and found that all links and references to the warranty terms and conditions are not publicly accessible.
Would not recommend—look elsewhere if you want durability and support you can rely on.

the top of the tank. Our local Solahart dealer has inspected it and has written to us to say that it is "beyond repair" and needs to be replaced at a (quoted) cost - subject to the state of repair of other components to be determined at replacement.
It seems to me that a tank supplied with the system in February 2016 should last longer than 7 years before deteriorating to a state of beyond repair. The warranty period is 5 years.
I think it is fair to ask how soon are we going to have to again maintain our Solarhart solar hot system in a functional state?
The dealer's response has been to offer a 10 year warranty on the new tank for some extra $$
We would actually prefer to recover some of our original investment in the form of a warranty claim covering the part or whole cost of the replacement tank.
We would also like to have confidence that a tank designed for external application will not fail before providing a reasonable lifetime of operation.

Rheem Solar Loline (Electric Boost)

person water load but failed just after 5 years with solar controller green LED off, and red LED blinking. Electric booster was running and bills went through the roof. System is a Loline with panels on the roof, and tank on the ground. Suspect pump failure as I checked the thermal overload and power supply and all seems fine. Called Rheem call centre and absolute waste of time. They offered a technician to visit and assess the problem which will take 5 minutes on site, and 10 minutes drive each way, so a mere 30 minutes at a cost of $270. The best solar technicians in town have a callout fee (which includes 1 hr on site) for $100 and these guys charge $270 for 30 minutes without even fixing the issue. What audacity after selling me and countless others an absolute LEMON. The call centre then went on to say that after paying $270 for a quick 5 minute assessment of the problem, I will then be given a quote for the actual fix which I expect to cost 2.5 x market rate if they charge people 2.5 x market rate for a basic call out fee. So I told her that I will use the no.1 solar technician in town who charges $100 call out fee including 1 hour of work on site and any basic fixes (this is the standard nationwide anyway). I will not spend 2.5 x market cost on these soul destroying thieves who sell LEMONS that last only a few years in perfect service conditions that other products would last 20 years. At least have the decency to charge market rates for your call out fee rather than RIP OFF $270 for half the time/value compared to others. Thieves is an understatement. Once I fix through a local solar expert, I will gather full details on LEMON products DODGY parts and file a claim through the legal avenues, and also take this further through their complaints team and ombudsman. A product like this deserves a CLASS ACTION.

temps overnight, leaking water everywhere! I’ve had to divert it to instantaneous gas hot water (no tank) with an emergency roofing plumber. Unfortunately, there is limited property access so I’d need an expensive crane to remove/replace because it weighs >100kg. Therefore, broken system will be staying on my roof indefinitely. Most (if not all) of these Rinnai 20 solar systems have broken for my neighbours. If you live in Melbourne, do your research into frost proof systems & how to replace and repair. Needing to pay a roofing plumber to inspect any issues is an added expense.

water for a family of five without need for the booster to be turned on at all unless it was a crappy winters week without much sun. Being in northern nsw there’s plenty of sun and it was a no brainer. However....... During the last five years I have put a frost valve in it every year because it leaks down the roof even in summer. All three panels have had condensation on the glass for about five years and I’m not game to disturb them in case they will all fall apart and I’ll have nothing which won’t be an issue now because the 415 litre tank has corroded and is leaking at the bottom. Our water supply is council and is tasteless and of very good quality. A new tank replacement is $3500 or a new system is $6500. With no rebate in place I’ll opt for a $1200 Rheem instant gas ( because Thermann are also made by Dux for Reece and if they can’t make a tank to last longer than 10 years their ability to make instant gas is also questionable ). So it’s cost me $6500 plus five frost valves @ $150 each for 10 years of “free” hot water. About $700 per year. Not what I’d call a good investment.

The pump only has a 1 year warranty, so it cost me $319 to replace the pump. There is no way I will be doing this every 2 years. If it happens again I will be considering an alternative.
UPDATE: Dux have been in contact with me. They have agreed to cover the 2nd pump under the tank warranty, if it fails again. I do still however have to outlay the $319 now. They did state that they have only been using this brand of pump (Grundfos) for about 2 years, so will be interesting to see how many more start failing.

I got Rinnai 315 litre WM (315 litre 30 Tube Stainless Steel electric boost) solar hot water system installed in June 2017 and it looked good at start. Less than one year, two tubes were damaged and they got replace without any cost to me. After 5 years, it could be earlier, I found out the solar panel on the roof were wrecked. It seem the pumper had not been working for a while but there was no indication anywhere except climbing up to the roof and check.
Waiting an authorised plumber to come for around 10 days. Less than 10 minutes checking. Here is the official charge:
$225.01 Checked over Rinnai solar hot water . Found manifold is faulty possibly caused due to sensor wire being broken. Quote: to supply and install new manifold, tubes and sensor wire with conduit $2900 installed.
After several weeks later, (affected by COVID). the labour cost of the panel replacement:
Replaced manifold, 30tubes and sensor wire under warranty. Tested and all working well. $567.95 labour.
Just hope it would last for 10 years.
