Have had an Enviroheat 200L unit since 2021. Had no issues with reliability. The control panel is a bit dim and non-intuitive but rarely need to use it. I have solar and run it during the day. Even with visitors it has never run cold. Would buy again. Show details

Good unit – Great unit. Only issue is the noise the compresser generates when its heating the water using the outside air temp, it sounds like your in a factory(wife says the truck has started). If you chose this make sure its away from your rooms. Show details

is a family of four and tonight run out after three showers. 250lt of water should last a heck of a lot longer than that. The issue in my opinion is two things. The way the cold water is brought into the unit and the fact the unit doesn’t start until the temperature drops too low. Possibly even the insulation of the unit is impacted in winter. Probably why it was $2000 cheaper than everything else. So be aware, you get what you pay for.
Follow-up · Temperature is the same between summer and winter. The unit is not even two years old yet so no maintenance is required yet. Pressure has nothing to do with it. Our pressure is good.

hot water over coils as they apparently freeze up in cooler temps. It resolved it for a bit however I have never been trusting of system since. Fast forward to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2024. Heat pump not activating and coming on, only saving grace with these systems is a boost switch. This allows the system to heat like a traditional element system. It’s a temporary fix and requires constant checking. Will contact installation firm for follow up with Enviroheat company and await solution. Presently not impressed with purchase. FYI this would be only the second review of an appliance I have ever responded to.

improvements on our previous unit. Touch screen to input settings covered when not required. No need to worry about sun damage. Once synced with the Smart Life or Tuya Smart Apps you can control all the settings remotely anywhere in the world with your Smart phone. Element heating mode should your heater require service. You can use the conventional heating element. We had our installation performed by JR Gas & Water, who were very easy to deal with and did a great job of the installation. They were a great price too. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone thinking about a heat pump installation.

to 60 degrees. The total running cost work out to be around 50 cents per day. I was initially concerned about heating 200 litres of water which did take some time to achieve when the unit was turned on for the first time as other systems have smaller tanks. What I have now realised is that having a larger tank is a benefit as three showers each morning and each night use perhaps 100 litres each morning and each night so there is still around 100 litres left in the tank that is still around 55 degrees which helps with the heating of the next lot of water that comes into the tank. If the same amount of water is used from a smaller tank there may only be 50 litres left in the tank so the new lot of 100 litres of water that comes into the tank will cool the remaining 50 litres and then need to heat 150 litres from a much lower starting temperature than the 200 litre tank. There is some noise with the system as there is with all heat pumps. due to its location it does not affect us or our neighbours. So far the unit has performed well for three adults showering twice a day and other hot water needs. The unit is not that much more expensive than a gas hot water service the same size however the running costs will provide a greater benefit over time.

time. For showers it was fine but if my wife or daughter would have a bath, at night, it would mean that I'd have only slightly warm or cold water, when I'd have a shower before I go to bed.
Earlier in the week, my daughter had a bath in the evening and my wife had one 2 hours later. I then had a shower 2 hours after that and I had hot water.
I believe recovery time is linked to the refrigerant — the Enviroheat 250L system uses R134a whilst newer heat pumps use R290. The Enviroheat 250L is still on the market but they've also released a new Envirosun M9 (200L and 330L) that use R290 refrigerant so perhaps these work better.
Great for Summer, but worst in Winter had to run on boost, on economy no hot water, better off with Gas heating in winter. Winter bill worst when we had gas heating. Show details

About a year later it had to get replaced again due to repeatedly running out of hot water and failing to heat the water at all (family of 3). then no hot water left. Checked the heatpump, temp down to 24 degrees. Turn booster on, wait half an hour, check water, still cold. Check the heat pump, booster not on (even though i had turned it on half an hour before hand) and the temperature is only at 25 degrees.

proper fix, we keep getting brushed off. The responses have been rude and dismissive. We’ve been asked questions like how many people shower in the morning and how long our showers are — which honestly feels ridiculous when you’ve spent good money expecting a reliable product.
The only solution offered is to reinstall the unit at our own cost — with no guarantee it’ll even solve the problem. We’re beyond frustrated and sharing our experience so others don’t end up in the same situation.

Good water heater efficient, just a bit weak in winter – I've had the unit for 3.5 years, so far its good, no issues. Only in Winter it needs to work extra hard to heat up the water. I think the trick is to set it at 65 degree Celsius during May to October. Very efficient unit. Very Loud but It doesn't bother me, as the house in double brick home. The EnviroHeat 200L heat pump itself is easy to use with clear, straightforward instructions. I appreciate the three modes—Eco, Vacation, and Auto—which make it versatile for different needs. While the unit can be a bit noisy, it only runs for a couple of hours a day, so it’s not a concern. Overall, I’m very pleased with its performance and the installation!

Helpful company – Since installing in May, I have loved this easy to use hot water system. It works well in the winter. I had a slight glitch with it not turning on today so I rang the 1300 number in the booklet and we fixed the problem over the phone with me being instructed which buttons to use by a bloke who knew exactly what was going on with it.
