Rosie is very helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with. She was our point of contact for setting up home loan entire time. She was always available to answer any questions and help with anything. Absolutely recommend easy street. And their interest rate is also very competitive. Show details
Since we took out our mortgage with Easy Street Finance I have not stopped recommending Craig Richards and Easy Street Finance to everyone I know who is house hunting! Not only did we secure one of the most competitive and flexible products on the market, Craig was super supportive and informative every step of the way. I first discovered Easy… Read more
Street when getting multiple financial institutions to run the numbers for me to establish loan feasibility. Craig was super thorough and whenever I had questions about how finances were calculated he took the time to explain it all to me in detail. Throughout the home purchasing process he was ultra responsive to both phone and email communication so I never felt stressed. He always followed up in a timely manner to make sure all paperwork was in order and that settlement ran smoothly. I'm writing this review in my new home and feeling super grateful! Thanks Craig and Easy Street!
They are asking people to login to bankstatements.com.au with your user name and password of your bank ? Guys are you serious ?? And the Mortgage Broker is forcing me to do that process instead of accepting my offer that I will send pdf statements from my bank. They should use the open-banking way of getting such statements without logging in.… Read more
You will be in breach of your bank's policies of not sharing username password with a third party and you will not be covered for any future scams by the bank's insurance. This process had to be banned.

I was very new to credit cards and applied for their Low Rate credit card to start. I received a few calls which I unfortunately missed but I called back as soon as I could. They called before I had actually submitted the application so I thought they were reminding me to submit. I called back to which I got a voicemail and I left a message saying… Read more
I had finished submitting the application and did not receive any follow up after. The email I got said I could check the status of my application but the link sent me to a page that just times out and does not work. I was trying to be patient as they are a smaller company and eventually was too busy to remember to follow up but a month had passed and I had heard nothing. When I called to check the guy was shocked my application was sitting there for that long and said I had just 'fallen through the cracks'. I eventually spoke to a lender and after all that I was ineligible and she rushed me off the phone like it was a waste of time. Before she even hung up I got an email saying I was declined and after the phone call I received a text message asking to verify my identity to progress my application that she said I would receive if I was successful. It is fine that I was declined as I am not in urgent need for a card but overall the experience was all over the place and confusing and the customer service was not great.
Great Loan Product and Exceptional Service, But Poor Fee Transparency and QBE's LMI Issues Made Settlement Stressful" – Review for Easy Street Financial – Home Loan Experience By Isaac Williams Upfront, Rosie the mortgage specialist was exceptional. We recently secured a home loan through Easy Street Financial, and overall, our experience was positive, with some areas for improvement. The 2-year fixed-rate loan offered by Easy Street stood out as one of the best… Read more
products available on the market, particularly with its added features at no extra cost. The standout of the entire process was Rosie Villella, our Mortgage Specialist and primary point of contact.
Rosie was exceptional—her communication was always timely, clear, and professional. Even during challenging moments caused by external factors, Rosie remained a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to help us navigate the process. Her dedication and expertise were the highlight of our experience, and we hope Easy Street recognizes her exceptional efforts.
However, there were significant issues that made the journey far more stressful than it needed to be. First, the lack of transparency around loan settlement costs was unacceptable. The Loan Agreement specified $1,420 in fees, including a $500 loan application fee and establishment or ACT Government fees. However, we were later hit with an additional $1,900 in fees that were neither outlined nor briefed beforehand. This over-doubling of fees was outrageous and caused immense financial stress during the settlement process. Clear, upfront disclosure of all associated costs is essential, and the lack thereof felt disingenuous at best and dishonest at worst.
The second major issue was with QBE, the external provider of Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI). QBE's refusal to recognize the valuation of our off-the-plan property after three years of appreciation during construction was both unreasonable and detrimental. Their decision to base the LMI on the original purchase price rather than the updated valuation increased the LMI premium from approximately $4,500 to $15,000. This was compounded by their outright refusal to provide LMI at all for off-the-plan purchases. Without family assistance, this could have completely derailed the loan process. QBE’s policies and practices were an absolute nightmare to deal with and nearly forced us to abandon Easy Street altogether.
Despite these challenges, Easy Street’s loan product was superior to the options presented by competitors, including Aussie Home Loans. While the product itself is commendable, improvements in transparency and the handling of third-party services like QBE are crucial to providing a better overall customer experience.
In summary:
Positives: Exceptional service from Rosie Villella and a competitive loan product. Negatives: Poor transparency regarding settlement costs and significant challenges with QBE’s LMI process.
We hope Easy Street Financial addresses these issues to ensure a smoother and less stressful process for future customers. Rosie deserves special recognition for her outstanding service, and despite the challenges, we are grateful for her efforts in helping us secure this loan.
The hood, bad & ugly – I recently refinanced my mortgage with these guys. I’ll give you the good & not so good. Their customer service is great. Friendly & knowledgeable staff & located in Australia. The APP is ok, not the best but easy to work with. They have osko so good for quick transactions between institutions etc. The rates are great & you can get an offset with… Read more
a fixed rate which is why I joined. When refinancing DO NOT choose “fast refinance”. It is not fast. It took 2 full months & then I had 2 home loans for about 10 days. Which doesn’t sound like much, but when you calculate the interest on double the loan, it’s expensive! With a fast refinance, they transfer the money first, then 10 days later, transfer the title. Who owns the house in that period??!! And why am I paying all the normal fees AND interest on two loans?? That upsets me because I did this whole thing to save money, not spend more! Personally I think one of these banks needs to pay me back. It’s a stupid process! I’d estimate it cost me an extra $1400 to do “fast refinance”. If you’re refinancing with these guys, when offered that option, say no. Apart from this, it was a pretty good experience.

Great service offered by Craig Richards – Dear management, I recently tried to change my investment loans. I am so impressed with the service that Craig Richards offered me. He made himself easy to contact and also followed up by contacting me himself. This was so helpful as we all know calling customer services number usually means long wait. He was patient and tried to do what's best… Read more
for me and not to think what he could gain. Even though in the end, my loans remain unchanged but his service left me with gratitude towards Easy Street for having such an asset to your staff team. I hope there will be more people like Craig Richards working in Community First and Easy Street. Jia Hua (Jeannie) Wang

Unpleasant experience – Very poor as the agent for this institution could not understand the tax returns given to him and repeatedly asking the same questions over and over when the answers were in the returns …never ever again will I waste my time and effort with a small lender such as this firm
Easy Street Hopeless - Stay away from opening an account with them – Tried to open a savings account. Completed the application and direct debit to pay the joining member fee which I had to give details of another bank account to be debited (did not like doing that). I received no email confirmation of receiving the application and all that the site said is that I would be contacted by phone to confirm ID. How… Read more
strange and of course I received no call! I contacted there online chat and guess what unavailable. I emailed and guess what no response. I messaged on FB and guess what no response. I tried to ring the Community First Credit Union on there 02 number as I am travelling overseas. Guess what on hold for 15 minutes so used all my roaming I had left. Tried their online chat and guess what unavailable. Tried to email and guess what no response. I did finally get an email to say that my application did not meet there guidelines which is fine as I would not open anything with them after this experience. No mention in the email why I did not fit the guidelines. Funny I have 10 other bank accounts with different institutions with no problems. These guys are a joke!
Shockingly poor – For an institution that is online only, you would think that it would be easy to actually setup up an account with them, not so. When you enter your details to create an account, you get to the point where it will say they need to contact you to do an id check verification. Whilst seemingly all other institutions do this automatically, they need… Read more
to do it “verbally”. Here is where the problems begin. Even after waiting a day for them to contact me, which they didn’t, when I called them to get it sorted, they only have 2 people on staff that do the id check - huh? After 4 phone calls and over 1.5hrs on the phone to them to try and do a simple id check, and being promised that I would be called back, still no luck. I understand they are a small institution and don’t have the staffing levels or systems that the larger institutions do, it is the poor customer service associated with this that makes them utterly useless. Dont waste your time with them.

Good customer service – Tahnee provided great customer service. That she had to call me to ask the same questions that I'd answered in the online form was annoying, but hardly her fault. Show reply

An initial poor service experience improved when reallocated to Mortgage Specialist Craig Richards – I applied for a credit card and received great service from Mortgage Specialist Craig Richards. Great customer service by Sean – Sean was exceptionally helpful immediately resolved our issue. Great personalised service, awesome rates – Applied for a balance transfer with Easy Street. Got a call from Craig who walked me through the application process and kept me up to date. Very helpful and a credit to the organisation. Ended up with a much better deal than the big banks. Show reply
EXCELLENT SERVICE - GOOD OLD FASHIONED BUSINESS SERVICE – Easy, fuss free communication. Good old fashioned service. I felt confident and comfortable with my dealings with this company. I would recommend very highly. Show details · 1
Sharp rate, helpful specialist, a little slow – Really happy with the mortgage specialist who helped get my loan across the line & navigate serviceability. The rate is very sharp for investment property purposes (more in line with owner occupier). The process did take longer than anticipated (many months) but happy overall in the end. Show details
Great financial institute with great people – Craig Richards is an excellent person to have in your corner. He's very easy to deal with and full of great information. So far, it's been almost effortless to get and maintain our loan. I'd recommend Craig and Community First Credit Union (Easy Street) to anyone. Show details
Very unprofessional – The mortgage specialist I dealt with frequently misunderstood the information provided to him. He repeatedly asked the same questions, continued to ask for more and more information, did not provide satisfactory updates, or answer questions. His email correspondence was riddled with grammatical and other errors, and at times, incoherent. It took… Read more
four months to get an answer, that could have been provided much earlier; the process was so drawn out.
Very cumbersome and unprofessional experience in opening a bank account – First of all, they informed me that all deposit account applications must pass a fraud detection procedure. Great, already feel like a criminal. Secondly, they insist that a deaf/hearing impaired person must call to verify his identity. Sure, there is a national relay service but this process takes a really long time, well over an hour.… Read more
Furthermore, I had to do this three times and they said they were not ready.
Thirdly, on the last attempt they were finally ready, I have already been on the phone for 30 minutes. And then they declared that I cannot be verified and I need to find a JP to verify my driver licence... All of that after more than one hour on the phone.
I told them to forget it.
Went to HSBC, applied an account. Got an account instantly after entering my driver's licence etc... online, no hassle, no waiting, and all done within an hour.
Why would you want to open an account with them? Note the process above with "Easy"street took place over a week and nothing was opened and all the hoops you need to jump through, just no respect of customer's time.
Just don't bother in my opinion.
Amazing home loan product – Have been a customer of EasyStreet for just over 2 years now and have been more than happy with their home loan product. Zero monthly fees for a mortgage with two offset accounts and a very competitive interest rate. On top of that, when an RBA rate rise comes around, they don't pass it on immediately. Sometime's I'd get a notice to say they were… Read more
raising the home loan rate, but it would be from an RBA rate rise from a month or two before that.
We had a hiccup during the application process, and the customer service person that helped us (Jeanette if she's still there), went above and beyond to make it happen by talking to the right people. And the approval process was fast! At the time most banks were saying turnaround time was 2 to 3 months, our Easystreet loan was approved within two weeks.
Can't speak of their other products but would highly recommend anyone to give them a go if you're in the market for a home loan.
The personal service is even better than the low rate – Tony from Easy Street looked after me from the start of my application all the way through to settlement and beyond.
