A RIP OFF! They took my money but never sent the product! – I ordered my paint early Jan 2022 and as at mid Feb 2023 it still hasn't arrived! I have phoned both the 1300 number and the Melbourne number with only an automated recorded message asking me to leave a message which I did but no reply. There is no human being answering the phone for this business. I have sent 4 emails asking what is going on. … Read more
For one of those emails I received a text message asking me to send an email! I finally gave up and asked for a refund to which I have had no response and received no paint as yet. This company used to be good. I have bought paint from them before, over the past 4 years with no problem but something has changed. I am not happy at all with this company and I would like my money back. As like many other reviews here, I would not recommend doing business with them.
Great for people who are sensitive to chemicals – Using to paint doors and trim. Very happy with a paint that doesn’t make my wife feel ill. Customer service phoned us to check the colour before dispatch (pure white, no tint required) Paint arrived within a few days of ordering. Will be using them in the future.
Such an ethical company – We're using their paint for our 50's restoration. In this instance, a Cottage Cream gloss for kitchen cabinet doors. Rolls on very smoothly, dries very quickly, zero VOCs, a couple of coats & the result is great. When we want more paint, we'll be coming back to Ecolour Show details
Easy to use – This is a paint that painters will love to use. It is non-toxic and therefore non-smelly which is why most people choose it. But what is it like to apply? I found it a beautiful texture that flows off the brush or roller with ease, and importantly, with few drips. With a properly primed surface you could almost get away with just one coat,… Read more
although I chose two coats just to be certain. It dries quickly allowing for two coats in the one day. I applied the paint in wet areas and a kitchen and it has a nice, not too shiny appearance that is easy to clean. Ecolour is an online store and the service and advice was friendly and helpful. Pros: Non-toxic Easy to apply Thick coats with no show through Cons: The thick coats means that coverage per litre may be slightly less than expected, which didn't bother me at all, because the outcome was so impressive
Good paint - try it! – Can said 20 mins touch dry and re-coat in 2 hours; spot on timing; finish was excellent - very smooth and not too glossy; went on easily, especially with roller. Painted change table for baby, so wanted a non toxic paint - very hard to source, so worth the cost and delivery(which was very prompt too). Because I had raw timber in spots I applied an undercoat/primer and sanded between each coat(lightly). Used 3 coats, but 2 would have been enough! Show details
Exactly what I needed – I needed a varnish or sealer that was safe to use, ie zero VOCs. That is something that is very hard to find. I ordered some Polyclear Satin from Ecolour. It arrived promptly (I am in Sydney) but more importantly I could use it (I am very sensitive to VOCs), even using it with my head inside a cupboard. It was easy to apply and dried quickly. I am very happy with the result. Show details
Fantastic product and service – I purchased an exterior paint, which was bright red (for my chicken shed). Used it over a white primer. Only had to use 3 coats. Great coverage. Outstanding service too. Show details
Great product and service – We're still midway painting our house with ecolour satin (warm white) the dominant finish. Ecolour staff were friendly when I phoned and answered my questions helpfully. I ordered primer, ceiling white, wet area, trim and exterior paint at the same time. We are painting on new plasterboard so we followed the data sheet instructions (2 coats… Read more
primer, 2 coats . Drying was fast, low odour. The only thing holding us back in finishing painting is needing a babysitter!
Great product – Used wet area satin to paint laundry. Paint mixes easily and goes onto the walls and ceiling beautifully. Touch dry in minutes ( it was a warm day) and recoated later the same day. 2 coats were sufficient to cover the all evidence of previous colour. The best thing is that there is no smell. Ordered on line, delivered promptly and the tint requested was perfect. I first used this product a few years ago and won’t use anything else now. Show details
Best paint I have used – No smell, lovely to paint with. I have painted my whole house as well as my midwifery clinic. Matt from Melbourne branch is so helpful, I have called him on numerous occasions for color matching, advice or best product for a particular surface. Show details
Only paint I can use ! – I tried ecolour a few years ago, gingerly trying a small area for our bathroom . As I had an extremely toxic reaction to normal house paints with benzines. This had resulted in 2 months off work headaches, memory loss, speech loss- finding words, saying wrong words, loss of balance and ability to drive, writing letters backwards and missing words,… Read more
in short debilitating. No problems with eco paint!! I could go ahead and paint my home after 7 years overdue ! Service from the company has been terrific despatched in 2 days just slow delivery in the tassie courier end. Price wise the same as any commercial brand - why buy any toxic chemicals. Quality paint with great coverage also used exterior on my daughter’s fence. Great results !!!!
Great product! – We used this to paint timber baby furniture so no-Voc was extremely important to us. Purchase and delivery were a breeze! Would highly recommend and will definitely be using these products when we next paint our house.
Wonderful service, speedy delivery, great product – Currently using primer and satin eco paint on a crib and am thrilled with the results. The paint does tend to get a little thick, but you can actually water down slightly if stirring doesn't work. One coat of the primer has been enough to fully cover the hideous bright yellow that was on the crib originally. Service was outstanding - staff were super helpful and delivery from Byron Bay to Sydney was one day.

Mixed Feelings – The paint arrived promptly and the colours were as ordered .Using the low VOC paint is a treat and Ive had no headaches as per usual paint brands. However I did find that I had to sieve the paint the next morning as skin had set in the paint and I spent sometime removing it from the roller tray and the ceiling. The roller and been wrapped in a damp… Read more
cloth inside a plastic bag and the roller tray was draped in a wet towel overnight. My friend also had this issue with Ecolour paints.Id be happy to recommend the prompt service and easy to use website to friends but would also mention the the issues that I experienced .Regards Peter
Low Odour, lovely finish – We have found the product easy to use, looks beautiful and doesn’t drip. I added water to make it go further and this worked well. Other paint might have an even smoother finish but our family put health first. our products were delivered in a really timely manner as well.
The worst paint ever used cost us $20,000 extra – We used this paint on our reno after undercoat on new plaster walls. We used a Master painter so they had plenty of experience painting. This paint doesnt behave like normal paint. Cut in around the doors with a brush, roll the walls and the cut in paint comes off the wall!. It was very hard to get a uniform finish on the walls. It took twice as… Read more
long to paint. We had to sand walls down and re skimcoat as the finish was that bad. I caught my painter sieving paint through a panty hose to get the bits out that form on the inside of the plastic lid - chemical reaction? They drop into the paint when lid opened. Cant leave rollers wrapped up.. dry the next day. I contacted Ecolour and got a few phone calls. I directed them to speak to my painter. They said they'd come out but didn't. I sent them the first $5000 invoice from plasterer to sand walls and re skim. They have not responded to further emails. If this company cant be bothered with a customer out of pocket an extra $20,000 because of their paint they wont care about honouring any warranty claim. Our painter has warned us not to use blue tack on the walls for fear the paint will come off.
Love Love Love Ecolour – We have used this product both inside and outside two different properties over the past five years. It was so good I recommended it to two health centres where I worked : they used it and the results were amazing. Even the traditional old school "professional painter" who could hardly breathe and was a grey (ashen) colour from all the toxic… Read more
fumes he had been exposed to for years - told us he liked using the products and was actually able to sleep at night (rather than up all night coughing). From a health perspective... you cannot go past 'saying no to VOC's'. We love using zero VOC products and have just purchased carpet with no VOC's as well. To top off this great product ... the staff are fantastic at Ecolour and it is dirt cheap courier service (or free if you spend $100 or more) delivered within 1-2 days each time we ordered (metro and rural).
Perfect color. Fantastic product – I got both the satin and the clear coat. The colour was beautiful. The consistency is like pudding which actually makes it far easier to use with less mess. I've had no problems through a freezing winter and boiling summer, product is still in perfect order. I'm so happy with the eco aspect of this product and the ease of use. 10/10 Show details
Great natural paint – The price is very competitive for natural paint. At volume, it is cheaper than Dulux! The colours match very well and I am very pleased. No smell whatsoever. Also, the customer service was excellent and much more convenient to have it delivered to your front door. This paint may need more coats than standard paints, but I haven't really tried both. happy painter – I was surprised with how well the paint rolled on and how even it appeared. Am happy with the ability and accuracy of colour matching. Odour not evident so that is always a positive thing, especially in a bedroom. I have not used the clear wood finish yet but am hoping for good results. Thanks Show details
Very horrible experience with paint and company – The paint goes mouldy. A call to the company resulted in us being told it was our fault and we were completely dismissed. I advise you not to take the risk with your home. It ruined ours and dealing with the sales manager was a bitter and awful experience. Worse than unprofessional - completely staggering. Show details
Just what we wanted – Interior paint: creamy, easy to apply, lovely finish, NO VOCs. We used white throughout our home, which is surrounded by forest. The light bounces off the walls. We coupled the paint with Livos floor oils to create a beautiful non toxic family home. We recommend this lovely paint to anyone.
Have used Ecolour on 3 house renos and Love It! – Ecolour Eco Interior Paint is easy to apply, has great coverage, has no odour and is easy to wash off painting equiptment! I have used Ecolour to paint the internal walls, ceilings and skirts of a 2 bedroom apartment, an entire 3 bedroom house and am currently using it to paint a two storey 4 bedroom house. Once you go Ecolour, you never go back.
Best paint and will never use another – I started using this paint years ago as I have reactions to paint fumes. Ecolour solved this problem, it comes in any colour, is super easy to paint on and clean up. The online phone and delivery works perfectly. I actually painted my bedroom and slept in it that night without any breathing issues. Fabulous and thanks!
