 AI reviews summary

The overall sentiment for eDreams is overwhelmingly negative, with reviewers frequently categorising the service as a "scam" or "predatory". The most significant and recurring complaint involves the "eDreams Prime" membership, which users claim is added to bookings without clear consent, followed by unauthorised recurring monthly or annual charges. Customers report extreme difficulty in cancelling these subscriptions and describe the customer support as unreachable, unprofessional, or intentionally obstructive.

Pros
  • Initial Pricing: Some users noted that the platform occasionally displays lower upfront flight prices compared to competitors before additional fees are applied.
  • Booking Fulfilment: A small number of users successfully completed travel itineraries without issue prior to discovering subsequent subscription charges.
Cons
  • Deceptive Subscriptions: The "Prime" membership is frequently enabled by default or hidden in fine print during checkout, leading to unauthorised monthly or annual deductions.
  • Obstructive Cancellation: Users report that cancelling subscriptions via the website is often impossible, and phone agents reportedly use aggressive "save" tactics or claim system errors to prevent cancellation.
  • Poor Customer Support: Support is characterised by long wait times, ineffective AI chatbots, and agents who provide contradictory information or ignore refund requests.
  • Refund Failures: Significant issues exist regarding refunds for cancelled flights; users often receive only partial amounts or are forced to chase airlines directly despite paying for "flexible" or "insured" options.
Verdict

The platform is widely regarded by users as a high-risk service due to its aggressive subscription enrollment and nearly impossible cancellation process. Consumers are strongly advised to check bank statements for unauthorised charges and consider booking directly with airlines to avoid hidden fees and support failures.

Booked a flight through them. First problem, I was instantly signed up to a prime account which I was not aware of. Free at first, then charged monthly. One of the so called benefits of the prime account is getting refunds easily from over “150” airlines. What a load of rubbish. The airline I booked to fly home cancelled the route, AirAsia. Air… Read more

Asia tell me to go through EDreams to get a refund on their bot however despite phone calls and emails I’ve been waiting 2 months. EDreams gave me two fake numbers this morning to ring AirAsia, they do not exist, so I give up. Lucky the flight was cheap, I can only imagine how terrible it must be for customers who have spent substantial amounts to be on the refund merry go round I’ve been on. Don’t use EDreams they are not to be trusted and this is proven by their lack of assistance and honesty in my case.

Don't use them whatever you do. Alaska airlines confirmed they sent the money aback to Edreams on the 22nd of April, and Edreams keep saying to me the airline hasn't approved it. They have absolute scammers and if everybody doesn't use them, hopefully they go out of business and stop scamming people Show details

OMG, where do I start?!? 1. You cannot cancel Prime subscription! 2. They say that the UK phone number is free but guess what, if your outside UK, you have huge tariffs. 3. You cannot cancel your account at all. 4. Their in-site articles about how to cancel are out loud lying, there are no such options as presented in those articles. 5. IF you… Read more

May 2026: Booked a flight through eDreams and their Prime nonsense is enabled by default. If you're not careful or in a rush because the timer's running out, it's easy to click right past this because they make it look like you have to. That's what happened to me so I went back and read it, '15 day free trial cancel any time'. So I figured it… Read more

wasn't worth the headache of clicking back and risk losing my booking opportunity again (price had already gone up). I was gravely mistaken.

I did google search and found tons of nightmare complaints. Immediately checked account online via desktop... no option to cancel subscription. You can't delete your payment method either. I tried and it flatly tells you that you can't if you have an active Prime membership.

So I called the support number. I gave them a chance. I politely asked to cancel Prime as I don't want an ongoing subscription. She went into a spiel about how I got a discount on flight and hotel because I knowingly signed up for Prime--"terms and conditions" she called it. I said, OK but it's a free trial right? Your website says I can cancel during the trial so I want to cancel. She began the same spiel again so I stopped her.

Me: Hey I just want to cancel

Agent: I must read you the terms and conditions

Me: You already did.

Agent: I'm going to read them again

Me: Ok

After her spiel silence followed.

Agent: So? Are you there?

Me: Huh? Yes I'm still here

Agent: I need an answer from you

Me: Answer to what? You didn't ask a question. I just want to cancel.

Agent: Well you signed up and it was very clear

Me: Yes, it's very clear on your webbsite that I can cancel within the 15 day free-trial. That's what a free-trial means.

It went on like this with no progress and now we were yelling at each other so I asked for a supervisor. Of course she claimed there was none available. I pressed on, I wasn't letting this go. She finally got exasperated and asked me to hold. A min or two later she comes back and says the Prime plan has been cancelled, you'll get an e-mail confirmation and if you ever sign up again you'll be charged.

Now, the e-mail confirmation did arrive and it looks like the subscription was indeed cancelled. So I went to delete my payment method. A confirmation dialog now appears asking if I want to remove it. I click Yes. Nothing happens. Card is still there even after refreshing the page. Looks like I have to call in again...

As I'm sure you all know by now, do NOT use this company. You can fly for the same price through a different site/agent. Their Prime "discount" is a scam which in fact does not save you any money; quite the opposite, it is designed to give the illusion of a discount (aformentioned nonsense fee) as well as hook you into ongoing subscription payments. You will have a fight on your hands to get out of it but at least it is possible. If you don't believe me just to a quick google search to verify what I'm saying.

Scam scam sacmmmmmm I had a very disappointing experience with eDreams. I booked a flight from Canberra to Melbourne through eDreams, but the boarding pass they sent me was invalid. was forced to book another last-minute flight at my own expense in order to travel to Melbourne. It caused a lot of stress, inconvenience, and extra cost.

We contacted Jetstar Airways directly, and they confirmed that the refund had already been processed back to eDreams and that it would normally take around 7 days. However, it has now been almost 2 months and I still have not received my refund.

I have sent multiple emails to eDreams, but they rarely respond and have not properly resolved the issue. Customer service has been extremely disappointing.

I would not recommend booking through eDreams based on my experience.

Every single time I pick a flight on their page, they change the price to be several thousand dollars higher! On different days, different flights! I’m surprised it’s legal. It’ll say, “Oops, the airline changed the price.” But when you look for the flight again, they offer it cheaper once again and change it when you go to book it. Show details

Very poor services. I had booked a ticket once and somehow I had subscribed to it without knowing, but surprising thing was never received any email or any other correspondence regarding the subscription. still pay till Jan 2027. So I had to call the customer service, the guy who answered was sitting in Delhi, India. He finally managed to get the permission to cancel it so that I have no charges but explaining to him was a painful process. Even after I told him repeatedly that the subscription happened without my knowledge, and I have not and will not use the services anytime soon as I don’t have plans of travelling in the near future. He kept telling me that I had the chance to cancel before the trail period. If I didn’t know that I have subscribed then how should I know when the trail ended. I was expecting some refund but nope.

Misleading practices + broken refund promise I had an extremely frustrating experience with eDreams, and I would strongly advise others to be very careful. I was charged €99 for the automatic renewal of their “Prime” subscription after a free trial. During the trial period, I actually tried to cancel, but their website explicitly suggested… Read more

keeping the subscription active until after my trip to “benefit from the perks.” This is clearly designed to make users forget to cancel — a very questionable practice.

After being charged, I immediately contacted support (March 16) explaining the situation. To their credit, they replied the same day confirming that a full refund (€99.99) had been initiated and would be processed within 72 hours.

However, that’s where the good part ends.

The 72 hours passed — no refund.

Since then: • March 22 — I asked for an update → ignored • March 23 — Follow-up → ignored • March 24 — Contacted again via their web portal → ignored • March 25 — Still no reply, no refund, no explanation

So not only do they use misleading tactics to push subscriptions, but they also: • Make promises about refunds that are not respected • Completely ignore customers once the issue is “closed” on their side • Provide zero transparency or accountability

At this point, it feels like they just say “refund initiated” to get rid of complaints, without actually following through.

This is unacceptable, especially for a company operating in the EU, where consumer protection laws clearly require transparency and fair practices.

Conclusion: Misleading subscription flow + false refund promises + nonexistent customer support = absolutely not trustworthy.

Avoid at all costs!! if you don’t want to waste your money and time. Feels like an absolute scam.

Unauthorized eDreams Prime charge of $89.99 after a 2023 booking I booked a flight with eDreams in June 2023 (Cairo → Sharm el-Sheikh) and never knowingly subscribed to any paid “Prime” membership. When you book tickets, they hiddenly subscribe you for a $100 a year prime subscription, which you will find out in your bank statements later. Sure, there was a small check box ticked by default, which is easy to miss, but this is dodgy behavior. And if you check reddit, thousands of people get subscribed like this. Show details

Rating: ⭐ 1 star – Sneaky charges, poor transparency, and misleading support I’d give eDreams 2 or 2.5 stars if this was just about hidden subscription traps — but their behaviour went beyond that. Free trial trap: you’re allowed one 15-day free trial of eDreams Prime. Fair enough. But here’s the shady part: If you book again using the same… Read more

details (same passenger, same email), the website gives no indication you’re ineligible for a second trial.

It actively encourages you with another “Welcome to Prime – Enjoy your 15-day free trial!” message, as if you're a new user.

Then, AFTER you pay for the ticket, it quietly charges you $13.99 the same day and locks you into a 12-month subscription.

No warning, no pop-up, no prompt saying: "It looks like you've already used a free trial."

Instead, they rely on buried legalese in clause 3.1.3 of the T&Cs to justify it. That’s deceptive design.

Can’t cancel online - you must call. In 2025, WHYY am I being forced to call customer support to cancel a subscription? That’s classic dark pattern behaviour. No in-app cancellation, and even the support agent tried to talk us out of cancelling.

No "Welcome to Prime" email = no consent: the first Prime trial (June 2025) never triggered a “Welcome to Prime” email because of some tech issue, which their own Terms & Conditions say is critical because it contains the Prime Term, Fee, and Commitment Period. Without that, we never consented to the trial terms.

Customer service lied to me directly: when I called on 31 July 2025, they claimed the original Welcome to Prime email from June had been sent, and they “had it in front of them” and would “forward it again.”

The email that arrived on 1 August was not the June email. It was something completely different - a generic policy reminder saying only one trial is allowed.

So either they couldn't produce the original email, or they flat-out lied.

Bottom line: misleading website flow, tricky subscription mechanics, and poor support. I wouldn’t trust them again.

We booked three plane tickets from China to Thailand through Edreams about 10 months ago. The airline cancelled the flight, so we asked them for a refund. The airline told us they had already refunded the money to Edreams. We contacted Edreams, and… Read more

they said we needed to provide proof from the airline that the refund was issued. The airline sent us exactly the documents Edreams asked for, and we passed them on. After three months of calling and chasing them, Edreams finally refunded one ticket. Then we had to start the whole process again for the remaining two tickets. We told them this was starting to look like a scam and that we were prepared to take the matter to court. Edreams then said they would refund the other two fares. Instead, they refunded one more ticket. Two months later, they emailed us again asking for more proof from the airline that the refund was sent to them — even though the airline had already confirmed it multiple times. At this point it’s clear: the airline refunds the money, and Edreams staff seem to keep it for themselves. Sure, Edreams can be a bit cheaper when you book, and you’ll get your ticket — but if anything gets cancelled, good luck ever seeing your money again.

showed my submission date as 6 May, only for it to later change to 17 May, conveniently restarting the waiting period and effectively adding another 10 days to the process. Despite raising concerns, I received no satisfactory explanation, no accountability, and no urgency to correct the issue.

The entire experience has been frustrating from start to finish. Communication has been poor, updates have been inconsistent, and confidence in the accuracy of their records is now virtually non-existent. Rather than focusing on resolving customer issues promptly, the process has left me feeling ignored and forced to repeatedly chase answers.

Without doubt one of the worst customer service experiences I have encountered. I would not recommend this organisation to anyone expecting transparency, professionalism, or timely service.
