This one has been OK. Good. It does make weird sounds and the exterior coating has failed absurdly. Maybe better than the last. It replaced an old Australian made Westinghouse one that literally dropped the ice maker front due to rust. It did very well so, ultimately, no complaints after 16 years. The internal space is great. Extra drawer is,… Read more
legitimately, wonderful. It fits so much. Thoroughly researched at the time and the pickings are slim now. Electrolux do so much rebadging nowadays. They still actually make these fridges. It came down to this or Fisher and Paykel (i.e: Haier with a rebadge). And I’d never go near F&P again.
Also, very conscious that, in dishwasher land Electrolux went to cheap imports from Turkey and are now selling Midea Chinese units under the Westinghouse brand in Australia. So was glad to find this one is actually made by Electrolux.
I don’t really know if it will last as a fridge but the pickings are slim nowadays. In the here and now it’s great. As stated, exterior dark paint is already failing . It does keep chucking ice and seems a swift cut quality wise above the rest.
Bitterly disappointed that Electrolux is churning towards the bottom with some of their other brands. This still seems to be Electrolux quality. The same fridge can be had as a Westinghouse, the same brand can be had as an Aussie made oven: try buying a replacement for a dishwasher and, with Dishlex reliability (sigh) now gone and AEG not getting traction (you’d surely go Miele for a few bucks more at the price point), then this fridge stacks up in the space for what we paid.
Electrolux need to sort their branding in Australia. We used to rely on this brand and their family brands. Seeing some of their rebadged products has really put me off them. The fridge may be an exception. Time will tell! It was this or an LG.
Don't buy this fridge if you want it to last more than 4 years.Like other reviews 3 1/2 years old and it's stopped working.$3200 so about $1000 a year pretty good hey.Wifi never connects.Doors rusting around water/ice dispenser ice maker stopped working after 3 years.Door adjar alarm is so quite they should supply a hearing aid so you might have a… Read more

We bought this fridge just over 4 years ago for over $3.5K and have had to replace already. The looks and capacity were great but we’ve always had issues with it. Wifi never worked - didn’t care, not an important feature to us, but the middle “flex” drawer continually malfunctioned, spontaneously changing from Chill to Freeze mode, ruining a… Read more
drawer full of food/drinks.
Stopped working completely at Christmas- Electrolux had no technicians available until new year. Got a 3rd party repair technician around and he said it was the control panel which was blackened. I bought and replaced that, but didn’t fix the issue. Waited another 2 weeks for Electrolux tech - he took one look and decided it was ‘unrepairable’. Electrolux offered a whole $80 discount off rrp on a replacement. Declined and went with LG instead. No wonder our land fill is out of control. 4 years for this price is unacceptable and will our last purchase of an Electrolux - supposedly a premium euro brand!

Not the Knock Knock but the Most practical fridge – I lost to my wife and daughter regarding choosing a fridge. I wanted the hype of the knock knock fridge but I think they were right in the end. This Electrolux fridge was easy to plumb the water and easy to move in and out because of the wheels. I love the crushed ice option as well as the block ice. The water is filtered. There is plenty of… Read more
room for big serving platters courtesy of the french doors. And there is a mid drawer and the bottom drawer has and inside drawer. Fantastic to use!

Absolutely Love This Fridge – Bought this fridge on recommendation from a friend in the business for 25 years, who as a technician and an absolute pessimist when it comes to buying anything! I have been in love with GE and Whirlpool ice-maker fridges for 30+ years and this in design and functionality is a lot better. So I have been surprised to read the negative comments… Read more
because we haven't experienced any in the 6 months of ownership. Fridges with ice-makers do make 'strange' sounds and this is no exception...but you get used to it...and it is a lot quieter than our previous Whirlpool from the USA. Highly recommended.
Fine piece of equipment – Love it, we & others comment on it beauty and functionality. Holds a lot which is very visible. The only comments that I’d point out that needs improvement is the running noise could be quieter and the snack slides need to be deeper as most items don’t fit or are hard to get out. Show details
Do not buy this fridge. After 4 short years it had had major repairs in the first year and now has a wiring issue that cannot be repaired. Also the finish has come off where you handle the doors. Show details

We have had a brand new Electrolux 681L French Door EHE6899BA in storage for 4.5 years. This was due to the fact that we were rebuilding our home after the 2019 NYE Currowan bushfires. It had never been unboxed until May 2025 when we were moving into our new home. We videoed unboxing it and discovered that all front panels were not smooth and… Read more
flat. Has anyone else experienced this? Electrolux has said it is out of warranty and will not cover the fault. The floor model on display at our local retailer is perfect. On visiting 5 other retailers and reviewing the floor models 3 were good and 2 were like ours showing a deformation on all front panels. Appears to be a fault in this model. Look forward to any feedback.
We have some wonderful news, Electrolux is going to replace the 4 x front panels of the fridge. Sue… Read more

I need a question answered – Has anyone have their Electrolux EHE6899BA fridge door opening against a wall and if so how close is the fridge to the wall. I would love to purchase this fridge, but it will be 56mm from the wall on the left side of the fridge
Excellent value, quality and lots of space – Looks amazing, huge space inside, excellent internal design. Quiet motor, can hardly hear it. Before I purchased I looked at these reviews and some mentioned the fridge is noisy. So I listened to it in the shop and I couldn't hear it. We are very please with it and wish we had purchased it sooner. Show details
Great fridge - pity about the noise – After having 2 Samsung French Door fridges fail me in the last 2 years, I decided not to take up Samsung's offer of a replacement and try another brand. After a lot of research and browsing, we decided on this model due to the nice internal layout and pretty good consistent reviews. So the positives: 1) Excellent temp control - I have… Read more
highly accurate wireless sensors in both the fridge and freezer and the Samsung varied wildly in range and struggled to maintain a consistent temp. The Electrolux is pretty much bang on the set temps, and even after having the doors open for a long time (when unpacking groceries) it gets back to temp very quickly. 2) HUGE internal space - Granted it's 20L more than our old Samsung but we love the amount of space in this thing. Ample room for lots of different sized goods, handy soft drink / wine bottle racks. Great middle draw for all our deli meats, cheeses, eggs and other small-medium items. Yes there’s 2 very small sliding storage slots in the bottom of the main fridge that bemuse some people, but we find it’s handy to hold sliced cheese and small wrapped deli meats so it doesn’t go to waste on us. 3) Icemaker / Water – Works very well. Water is always quite cold (a bugbear with the Samsung is that it always struggled here) and the icemaker gives good blocks of ice and crushes it effectively.
And now, the only negative for this otherwise excellent fridge:
1) It’s NOISY! Like, quite annoyingly noisy. I read some others in the reviews complain about this however thought I’d take a punt and I concur with most of the comments. At idle it’s noticeably noisier than my Samsung (or any other previous fridge) however bearable, but every now and then it fires up a fan at high speed for 5-7 seconds which is quite loud and annoying. Fortunately I live in a double storey home so it’s not an issue at night time, however if I lived in a single storey home whereby any bedroom was close to the kitchen, it would be a deal breaker for me.
Anyway, admittedly after a week or two we’ve been able to tune out from the sound of the fridge and it doesn’t phase us too much, except when ‘that fan’ kicks in. Aside from that, it really is a great fridge with ample room, nice aesthetics and excellent temperature control.

We bought this fridge in October 2023 for $2,800. Just over 2 years later, a week before Christmas, the fridge has broken. fridge like this to last much longer. After reading other reviews it seems like this is a common issue.
Other pros and cons about this fridge - Pros - good lighting, good size, like the draw that can change from a fridge to a freezer. Cons - cant’t adjust shelves, snack boxes are too shallow and hard to get food out, dark stainless on the outside has started peeling.
I purchased the fridge freezer with ice maker at end of June 2025. It worked well and I was very happy with it while it functioned as a fridge and freezer. By early November all freezing and flexi draw functions had failed, but the fridge still worked to keep contents cool. By early December the cooling function had also failed, so the 5 month old… Read more
fridge was then totally useless. I contacted Electrolux in November via the retailing agency when the freezing function failed, and a service technician arrived 24 days later, looked at the fridge for a minute, and said the fridge would have to be replaced. Electrolux contacted me 4 days later, and it will be the first week in March 2026 before the fridge can be replaced with the same model. Luckily I have some small, older, and reliable brand fridge freezers (20yo Samsung, 10yo Haier, and 30yo Engel) that can do the job that a new and great looking Electrolux cannot. Let's hope that Electrolux can sort out its production and quality assurance issues ASAP, certainly well before March next year! Best advice is to read plenty of product reviews before choosing to buy. If choosing Electrolux, it may be best to keep an old back-up fridge freezer and beer fridge in the garage just in case!

Purchased fridge in March 2021 liked the fridge layout and the water ice option as well as the multi zone middle drawer however the bottom freezer started to ice up beginning of this year and I paid an additonal $300 dollars for a technician to come and fix which took 3 attempts before they got it right. finally the fridge died and would not stay cold both fridge and freezer. I purchased from Harvey Norman but forgot I had a product care warranty so was trying to deal directly with electrolux which was slow and painful. They wanted to charge again to come out and then agreed to come out under the old job but 10 days before they could supply a technician even after I called back and escalated it no improvement to timeframe could be given and I only got an email not a call - bad customer service in my opinion.
At this stage I went back to Harvey Norman and once I advised that I would be seeking a refund via consumer guarantees they sprung into action and I got a new fridge (not electrolux).
This fridge from what both Harvey Norman and the electrolux technician told me is known to fail early and is definitely not the quality that one would expect from the brand.
My strong recommendation is to avoid the product and the company they dont seem to care about customers and were quite happy to string me along and delay doing anything to resolve the problem which was very disappointing.

The layout of the fridge is great. The middle drawer is great for leaving kids snacks and drinks. It maintains the temperature well. fridge. Electrolux offered a $500 to replace it with the same model. It’s an expensive fridge and should last much longer than five years. Needing to replace fridges every five years is not only expensive but environmentally unfriendly. We haven’t accepted their offer and the case has been closed. Buyer beware you will be forking out money again soon to replace this poor quality fridge.

Will never purchase anything from Electrolux again – If I could give Electrolux zero stars, I would. After owning this fridge for just 2.5 years, the freezer failed the day before Christmas Eve—at the worst possible time. Electrolux's response? The earliest they could send a technician was December 31st. Things went from bad to worse when the fridge also failed on Boxing Day, forcing us to throw… Read more
away over $400 worth of food.
When the tech finally arrived on the 31st, they replaced the control panel, shrugged, and left, saying to call back if it didn’t work after six hours. Surprise, surprise—it didn’t. But Electrolux was conveniently closed until the new year, leaving us stranded without a functioning fridge for days.
Thankfully, Harvey Norman (where we purchased the fridge) stepped in to handle the mess Electrolux created. Their service was stellar—unlike Electrolux’s. The same tech came back, only to reveal the compressor had failed. Why this wasn’t diagnosed on the first visit is beyond me. Electrolux’s negligence left us without a fridge for nine days, and their “customer service” was an exercise in frustration.
I requested a store credit instead of a replacement fridge, they claimed it would take another two business days to process—on a Friday, no less. Fed up, I turned back to Harvey Norman, who sorted it out and arranged for a new fridge (NOT Electrolux) to be delivered the next day.
Electrolux’s customer service is abysmal, their products are unreliable, and their wait times for technicians are unacceptable. A fridge that costs this much shouldn’t fail after 2.5 years. I will NEVER buy another Electrolux product and would strongly advise anyone reading this to steer clear. They don’t deserve your money—or your patience.
Substandard fridge – We purchased this Electrolux fridge from Harvey Norman in December 2019, thinking paying the price we paid it would be a better quality fridge, as opposed to a cheaper fridge, nope. The fridge is now out of warranty and the interface/control panel has stopped working and we can no longer get ice or water. Contacting Electrolux was a waste of… Read more
time, all we got was the standard reply “sorry, you’ll need to contact a repair technician”. Yeah, thanks but no thanks, I’m not spending any money on this substandard product, when for the price we paid should not have stopped working after only a few years. I’d rather purchase a cheap fridge, which I’d expect to fail after only a few years, rather than waste my money on this fridge. We will not be buying another Electrolux product again and I certainly won’t recommend it anyone else either.
Flawed design, Electrolux knows it, Will fail just of of warranty – We got this fridge as a selection in our house since early 2019. The fridge has functioned fine until October 2024 when all the lights on the water/ice dispenser control panel started flashing and beeping. fridge and freezer were still holding temperature and the inside control panel was still working at this point
I called Electrolux and once I have them the serial number they were very happy that the fridge was out of warranty, and they could not send out a technician for a couple of months. They told me the fridge may stop functioning in that time and since the fridge is out of warranty I should buy a new fridge.
I got a local authorized Electrolux repair company to take a look and they said they were getting no error codes from the fridge at all, but the compressor seemed fine and the fridge was functional. They suspected the main computer board was at fault so they replaced that, but no luck, same thing, but with the new computer board the fridge stopped working completely. Even putting the old computer board back in, the fridge still would not start the compressor. Then then thought it was a power supply issue but again same thing, even with a third computer board. By this point it was now mid December 2024 and we'd borrowed another fridge. We gave up and bought a new fridge. The repair place was good and didn't charge us anything on top of their initial call out fee. They called back about a week later and said there is a design flaw this this fridge where wiring inside the door can short, and this damages the main computer board. The two new computer boards they'd put in our fridge were destroyed. Our fridge was not economical to repair.
Electrolux were so happy that our fridge had an issue and was out of warranty. I'm so happy I will never buy an Electrolux product ever again.

Don't waste your money – We were initially happy with this fridge, the water and ice dispenser are fun and I loved the wine draw. But it has lasted only 4 years which is ridiculous for the price. Underwhelming & poor quality for the price – Many issues with build quality, we were hoping it would be like it's previous model, but this one was just not great. - Middle drawer changes temperature on its own - Internal door skins delaminate - door trays can't hold weight - constant condensation - Plastic is very brittle and bottom pull out trays break easily. - super difficult to clean… Read more

Warning - don’t buy this fridge – We bought this fridge in July 2020 (when the reviews were actually pretty good - nobody had spent enough time with it yet I guess). randomly change settings - including switching over to freezing and spoiling much of the food. As a result we had to replace the flip rail and the display unit on the flex drawer (this had been fried due to the condensation) 2. Despite this repair the condensation continued and we have had to replace the left hand door and the main PCB
Despite this the condensation issue continues. We contacted Electrolux who said as we were out of warranty they would need to charge us for the repair and couldn’t do the repairs until 3 weeks later.
We found an independent repair company who would do the repairs immediately at a much more reasonable cost (although nobody misses you in the fridge repair business). The repair guy say that this is a very common issue with this fridge at the 3 year mark. It is getting to the point where we would need to invest so much in the repairs that we may as well get a new fridge.
So a warning to anyone considering this fridge - we paid $3.4K for it and the repairs have cost us $1.2k with no end in sight. Electrolux shouldn’t be still selling this fridge and I would caution you not to buy it.

Overall a good product but as noted by may falls short in many aspects – Purchased in 2021 from Appliance Online after our Samsung finally succumbed to its design fault that saw the fridge fill up with water which ironically is now happening with the Electrolux. We had the same issue with the Electrolux as many reported where the water dispenser failed but as a retired radio communications technician with 50 years of… Read more
experience in electronics, I was able to diagnose the issue and called for warranty support which was prompt, and the tech replaced the faulty solenoid, and the issue has remained fixed so far. The current issue started when the fridge started emitting a constant clicking noise and then a loud ticking noise that sounded like a fan scaping on a build-up of ice (this was the same noise the Samsung made before the fan expired and it too filled the bottom drawer with water). We now have the same as reported by others, water dripping down into the middle slide-out draw has soaked the content and requires constant dying out of the bin. Our fridge is still under warranty so we will lodge a claim and hopefully have the same response as our first warranty claim. Overall, my wife and I like the product and are happy with its performance as a fridge, and given that all electrical products that incorporate electronic controls are prone to issues that can and do affect user satisfaction, we are not surprised that we have encountered the issue we have. If Electrolux was serious about maintaining its reputation by looking after customers who have spent significant money to buy its products, the company would look at the comments made and make a real effort (not provide lip service) and move to resolve them quickly and if needed proactively contact registered buyers and provide fixes for known issues before the users have the same negative experiences and design issues as listed following. That said, it may be that Electrolux does not care about customer reviews or its reputation. As I write this review our Electrolux is intermittently making the fan grinding noise in the background which is my cue to go and drain the middle drawer of water!
