This one has been OK. Good. It does make weird sounds and the exterior coating has failed absurdly. Maybe better than the last. It replaced an old Australian made Westinghouse one that literally dropped the ice maker front due to rust. It did very well so, ultimately, no complaints after 16 years. The internal space is great. Extra drawer is,… Read more

legitimately, wonderful. It fits so much. Thoroughly researched at the time and the pickings are slim now. Electrolux do so much rebadging nowadays. They still actually make these fridges. It came down to this or Fisher and Paykel (i.e: Haier with a rebadge). And I’d never go near F&P again.

Also, very conscious that, in dishwasher land Electrolux went to cheap imports from Turkey and are now selling Midea Chinese units under the Westinghouse brand in Australia. So was glad to find this one is actually made by Electrolux.

I don’t really know if it will last as a fridge but the pickings are slim nowadays. In the here and now it’s great. As stated, exterior dark paint is already failing . It does keep chucking ice and seems a swift cut quality wise above the rest.

Bitterly disappointed that Electrolux is churning towards the bottom with some of their other brands. This still seems to be Electrolux quality. The same fridge can be had as a Westinghouse, the same brand can be had as an Aussie made oven: try buying a replacement for a dishwasher and, with Dishlex reliability (sigh) now gone and AEG not getting traction (you’d surely go Miele for a few bucks more at the price point), then this fridge stacks up in the space for what we paid.

Electrolux need to sort their branding in Australia. We used to rely on this brand and their family brands. Seeing some of their rebadged products has really put me off them. The fridge may be an exception. Time will tell! It was this or an LG.

We bought this fridge just over 4 years ago for over $3.5K and have had to replace already. The looks and capacity were great but we’ve always had issues with it. Wifi never worked - didn’t care, not an important feature to us, but the middle “flex” drawer continually malfunctioned, spontaneously changing from Chill to Freeze mode, ruining a… Read more

drawer full of food/drinks.

Stopped working completely at Christmas- Electrolux had no technicians available until new year. Got a 3rd party repair technician around and he said it was the control panel which was blackened. I bought and replaced that, but didn’t fix the issue. Waited another 2 weeks for Electrolux tech - he took one look and decided it was ‘unrepairable’. Electrolux offered a whole $80 discount off rrp on a replacement. Declined and went with LG instead. No wonder our land fill is out of control. 4 years for this price is unacceptable and will our last purchase of an Electrolux - supposedly a premium euro brand!

Do not buy this fridge. After 4 short years it had had major repairs in the first year and now has a wiring issue that cannot be repaired. Also the finish has come off where you handle the doors. Show details

Absolutely Love This Fridge – Bought this fridge on recommendation from a friend in the business for 25 years, who as a technician and an absolute pessimist when it comes to buying anything! I have been in love with GE and Whirlpool ice-maker fridges for 30+ years and this in design and functionality is a lot better. So I have been surprised to read the negative comments… Read more

because we haven't experienced any in the 6 months of ownership. Fridges with ice-makers do make 'strange' sounds and this is no exception...but you get used to it...and it is a lot quieter than our previous Whirlpool from the USA. Highly recommended.

Fine piece of equipment – Love it, we & others comment on it beauty and functionality. Holds a lot which is very visible. The only comments that I’d point out that needs improvement is the running noise could be quieter and the snack slides need to be deeper as most items don’t fit or are hard to get out. Show details

We have had a brand new Electrolux 681L French Door EHE6899BA in storage for 4.5 years. This was due to the fact that we were rebuilding our home after the 2019 NYE Currowan bushfires. It had never been unboxed until May 2025 when we were moving into our new home. We videoed unboxing it and discovered that all front panels were not smooth and… Read more

flat. Has anyone else experienced this? Electrolux has said it is out of warranty and will not cover the fault. The floor model on display at our local retailer is perfect. On visiting 5 other retailers and reviewing the floor models 3 were good and 2 were like ours showing a deformation on all front panels. Appears to be a fault in this model. Look forward to any feedback.

I need a question answered – Has anyone have their Electrolux EHE6899BA fridge door opening against a wall and if so how close is the fridge to the wall. I would love to purchase this fridge, but it will be 56mm from the wall on the left side of the fridge

Great fridge - pity about the noise – After having 2 Samsung French Door fridges fail me in the last 2 years, I decided not to take up Samsung's offer of a replacement and try another brand. After a lot of research and browsing, we decided on this model due to the nice internal layout and pretty good consistent reviews. So the positives: 1) Excellent temp control - I have… Read more

highly accurate wireless sensors in both the fridge and freezer and the Samsung varied wildly in range and struggled to maintain a consistent temp. The Electrolux is pretty much bang on the set temps, and even after having the doors open for a long time (when unpacking groceries) it gets back to temp very quickly. 2) HUGE internal space - Granted it's 20L more than our old Samsung but we love the amount of space in this thing. Ample room for lots of different sized goods, handy soft drink / wine bottle racks. Great middle draw for all our deli meats, cheeses, eggs and other small-medium items. Yes there’s 2 very small sliding storage slots in the bottom of the main fridge that bemuse some people, but we find it’s handy to hold sliced cheese and small wrapped deli meats so it doesn’t go to waste on us. 3) Icemaker / Water – Works very well. Water is always quite cold (a bugbear with the Samsung is that it always struggled here) and the icemaker gives good blocks of ice and crushes it effectively.

And now, the only negative for this otherwise excellent fridge:

1) It’s NOISY! Like, quite annoyingly noisy. I read some others in the reviews complain about this however thought I’d take a punt and I concur with most of the comments. At idle it’s noticeably noisier than my Samsung (or any other previous fridge) however bearable, but every now and then it fires up a fan at high speed for 5-7 seconds which is quite loud and annoying. Fortunately I live in a double storey home so it’s not an issue at night time, however if I lived in a single storey home whereby any bedroom was close to the kitchen, it would be a deal breaker for me.

Anyway, admittedly after a week or two we’ve been able to tune out from the sound of the fridge and it doesn’t phase us too much, except when ‘that fan’ kicks in. Aside from that, it really is a great fridge with ample room, nice aesthetics and excellent temperature control.

We bought this fridge in October 2023 for $2,800. Just over 2 years later, a week before Christmas, the fridge has broken. fridge like this to last much longer. After reading other reviews it seems like this is a common issue.

Other pros and cons about this fridge - Pros - good lighting, good size, like the draw that can change from a fridge to a freezer. Cons - cant’t adjust shelves, snack boxes are too shallow and hard to get food out, dark stainless on the outside has started peeling.

Will never purchase anything from Electrolux again – If I could give Electrolux zero stars, I would. After owning this fridge for just 2.5 years, the freezer failed the day before Christmas Eve—at the worst possible time. Electrolux's response? away over $400 worth of food.

When the tech finally arrived on the 31st, they replaced the control panel, shrugged, and left, saying to call back if it didn’t work after six hours. Surprise, surprise—it didn’t. But Electrolux was conveniently closed until the new year, leaving us stranded without a functioning fridge for days.

Thankfully, Harvey Norman (where we purchased the fridge) stepped in to handle the mess Electrolux created. Their service was stellar—unlike Electrolux’s. The same tech came back, only to reveal the compressor had failed. Why this wasn’t diagnosed on the first visit is beyond me. Electrolux’s negligence left us without a fridge for nine days, and their “customer service” was an exercise in frustration.

I requested a store credit instead of a replacement fridge, they claimed it would take another two business days to process—on a Friday, no less. Fed up, I turned back to Harvey Norman, who sorted it out and arranged for a new fridge (NOT Electrolux) to be delivered the next day.

Electrolux’s customer service is abysmal, their products are unreliable, and their wait times for technicians are unacceptable. A fridge that costs this much shouldn’t fail after 2.5 years. I will NEVER buy another Electrolux product and would strongly advise anyone reading this to steer clear. They don’t deserve your money—or your patience.

Now it’s been 4 days since my second call and complaint, all my food has defrosted by now and lost all that stored food in my freezer. They also tried to scam me by saying the fridge was purchased on 1/1/2021 so out of warranty, THIS IS A LIE!!! I got a reprint of my receipt from Good guys and I purchased that fridge on 26/8/2022 so it had been just under the 2 year manufacturers warranty. Dream fridge turned into disappointment – This fridge was so great for our family. But we have now had problem after problem. The last repair has now rendered the fridge completely dead. Overall a good product but as noted by may falls short in many aspects – Purchased in 2021 from Appliance Online after our Samsung finally succumbed to its design fault that saw the fridge fill up with water which ironically is now happening with the Electrolux. We had the same issue with the Electrolux as many reported where the water dispenser failed but as a retired radio communications technician with 50 years of… Read more

experience in electronics, I was able to diagnose the issue and called for warranty support which was prompt, and the tech replaced the faulty solenoid, and the issue has remained fixed so far. The current issue started when the fridge started emitting a constant clicking noise and then a loud ticking noise that sounded like a fan scaping on a build-up of ice (this was the same noise the Samsung made before the fan expired and it too filled the bottom drawer with water). We now have the same as reported by others, water dripping down into the middle slide-out draw has soaked the content and requires constant dying out of the bin. Our fridge is still under warranty so we will lodge a claim and hopefully have the same response as our first warranty claim. Overall, my wife and I like the product and are happy with its performance as a fridge, and given that all electrical products that incorporate electronic controls are prone to issues that can and do affect user satisfaction, we are not surprised that we have encountered the issue we have. If Electrolux was serious about maintaining its reputation by looking after customers who have spent significant money to buy its products, the company would look at the comments made and make a real effort (not provide lip service) and move to resolve them quickly and if needed proactively contact registered buyers and provide fixes for known issues before the users have the same negative experiences and design issues as listed following. That said, it may be that Electrolux does not care about customer reviews or its reputation. As I write this review our Electrolux is intermittently making the fan grinding noise in the background which is my cue to go and drain the middle drawer of water!

Slow Service from Electrolux – Electrolux finally sent a repairer. After two attempts, our problem was fixed. At present (June 2022) there are no problems with the fridge. A few days ago, the fridge started beeping and… Read more

indicating that the freezer door was open. Despite closing it, the door signal remained on and the beeping continued. The freezer still appears to be working, although there is a little frost on its contents, but the beeping ....... is driving us insane.

I have so far sent two emails to Electrolux, and rung three times. No response to my emails other than an automated response. In relation to the phone calls: Call 1 - after waiting for over 30 mins on hold, I decided to get a call back. They rang back about an hour later, I didn't get to my phone in time, and I found I was back to square 1. Call 2 - Opted for call back, had phone with me when they rang, answered the phone and was hung up on. Call 3 - Have recently made this call. Hope I get a response.

I am aghast at how Electrolux's service has deteriorated. It is bad enough that the replacement fridge which was delivered 4 months ago is apparently defective. The fact that it is proving so difficult to have this problem attended to is making things much, much worse.

My next fridge will not be from Electrolux.

DEC 2021 REVIEW: We had a few problems with the fridge that was initially delivered to us (1) the water filter leaked and (2) one of the doors jutted out. Electrolux were excellent. Originally they sent out a serviceman who ordered a new door and repaired the filter. When we discovered that the filter was still leaking, the fridge was immediately replaced. I am happy with the fridge now. I know some of the reviews state that the fridge is noisy but I don't think it's noisy for a fridge of that size. I think our previous Samsung French Door fridge was much noisier. LOVE the flexi drawer.

As to the cons: The snack drawers are so shallow they are completely useless. They are a dirt trap and difficult to clean. I would prefer it if they were not there.

The components feel very flimsy compared to our old Samsung. I expect that they will need to be replaced rather sooner than I would like.

Design flaws, sharp edges, noisy although great to look at! – Bought this fridge late Jan 2021, although very pleasing on the eyes, great to look at and somewhat "appears" well designed. That's where it all stops to be honest! For starters it's so noisy for a high end fridge, somewhat nearly a flagship fridge. The cooling fan design alone is just hilarious, whonever designed it didn't even bother with… Read more

setting some form of hysteresis - but decided on a fixed set point, It will constantly pulse off on off on off on when it's near it's trigger temperature. Then there's the compressor itself, not very quiet either, sounds like a 1970s fridge. These days you have A/C units with PWM but no, this fridge just sounds like it goe from 0% duty cycle to 100% duty cycle and nothing in between.

Now to the design flaws, I really think departments didn't bother talking to each other. If you open up the LHS door and try to pull out the LHS fruit drawer - yep, it doesn't open, it hits the RHS fridge door. There's about 1cm where it fouls. Then comes the shelves, if you run your finger or palm or hand underneath each shelf, there are sharp edges protruding, it's like whoever did the design for the shelf designed the glass trim a bit too thin for the alloy insert, so it's exposed! Other day I reached back to get a container and on the way out I nicked the shelf and it took some skin off! I'm sure if I go through the fridge I'll find more flaws with it, lastly the ice maker is also so annoyingly loud! Also, the doors don't fully open all the way out either, so trying to remove your drawers to clean can be a mission on its own.

I regret buying this fridge, it was because we thought our old fridge died (also an Electrolux) so we bought one without really going through it in detail at the shops (due to covid, etc.) thinking "hey it's an Electrolux, must be great". We just hope it doesn't explode after its first year of life (when the warranty runs out).

Anyone reading this, don't buy it.

Also after they "reached out" on Product Review, I thought I would return the message but this is the response I got.

Not sure to laugh or not.

It’s sooo big!! – I liked this fridge from the start. And after looking and comparing it with so many others, I finally purchased this one from Harvey Normans. I read the bad reviews about it scratching but that didn’t bother me as pretty much every fridge will scratch if your not careful. There are reviews about the doors being heavy and clunky when they close,… Read more

again, what fridge door isn’t. Personally I don’t find it clunky or heavy and I always guide doors closed instead of allowing them to slam shut. I don’t find this noisy at all which I’ve read in some reviews. I guess if you park up a seat beside it you’ll hear it but I can’t hear it when we are in the house doing our thing. It has so many compartments and I love that it doesn’t have handles. The middle drawer is my favourite as I can make it more fridge space which is what I was after. I have 4 boys and all of their lunch box items are kept in this drawer so they only have to go in there to pack their lunchboxes in the morning. I purchased extra warranty with Harvey Normans so it’s covered for 6 years which I’m a fan of. Would recommend this fridge if your looking to upgrade.

Looks good, great lighting – Pros: We really like this fridge because it offers a number of things that other in the same category don't. It has excellent interior lighting, others we looked at had mediocre interior lighting. We like the exterior 'handle-less' design, the grab handles are recessed which gives the fridge a nice flat appearance. Ice maker and water maker work … Read more

great.

We also love the centre draw that can be cycled between freezer temp all the way to wine temp, others we looked at didn't go as cold so couldn't be used as actual freezer space.

Cons: Doors can be a little loud when closing them especially if both fridge doors are open at the same time. As others have said, the doors also don't close as reliably as we are used to, they need to be pushed further before snapping shut.

You need a fair bit of clearance either side of the doors for them to open properly, especially if you want the doors flush with your cabinetry. If the fridge doors sit proud of the cabinetry, the clearance required is significantly less.

Its a lemon! – Update: compressor is faulty and fridge will be replaced. Pros: looks good Cons: sounds like a truck, compressor is super noisy that's all we hear in our house = headache. It also marks fingerprints, even though sales guys said it doesn't. Storage internally doesn't work for a large family, odd shapes for door containers. Very clunky on the fridge doors shutting. Scratches very easy . Save your $$$ buy another brand. Show details
