This is a terrible product – Had the BBQ installed about 18months ago. Flat lid warped after 9 months, no longer sits flush. Auto Igniter does not ignite. It is very difficult to light manually and very dangerous. Drip collection system at the front is not easy to clean. Now the gas regulator has given up and been to Bunnings, BBQ stores, Reece Plumbing and to the store that I purchased it from and no body as the correct gas regulator.

Good Looking ----BUT – The auto ignition stooped working after a year . Techs came and fixed it ( it took them a month ) but it failed again within a year . Fat pools in the bottom of the machine and there is no easy way to clean it I have thrashed this barby for 8 years . Very happy with the cooking , but it really is poorly designed as far as cleaning goes . If any… Read more

Absolute garbage. Uneven heat & igniter worked for maybe 3 months – Ok, the positives. The BBQ looks good, very clean and sleek built in. The negatives.... Very uneven heating. Ice cold and searing hot in odd places. Flat lid warped after 18 months, no longer sits flush. Ignighter worked for the first 3 months, then nothing. Making this worse is that it's very difficult to light manually and dangerous. Drip collection system at the front is not easy to use. Show details

Phenominal but faulty by design – Best BBQ ever: sleek, stylish, easy to clean and I use it all the time summer and winter, BUT the starter motor has been a problem for years. This was not designed properly for outdoor use. I bought mine 8 years ago and had the starter ignition replaced 3 times over the next 3 years. Every year as soon as the rains started, the starter would fail.… Read more

When the technicians came out they advised it was a known fault... as water gets in under the knobs. I covered mine with a simple tupperware and placed a cover over the whole BBQ unit, but this still did not prevent damp from affecting it. The cost involved in fixing it prevented us from continually having it fixed. It is a pity as otherwise it is a great unit and my other Electrolux products have been amazing. I have sadly given up on expecting Electrolux to fix what was not designed well. This is a pity as I came to this site in the hope of a better reviews as I will need to replace it at some stage and hoped to replace it with an Electrolux unit.

Beef Eater (Electrolux) is on a Winner with this BBQ – Please note that this review is for the Beef Eater version of the Electrolux EQBH156AS and EQBW316ASas it has been rebranded as Beef Eater and both the integrated BBQ (BSH156SA) and side burner (BSW316SANG) have been installed into a built-in kitchen. (Model No. BOKS100A) I have had my Beef Eater Outdoor Kitchen with BBQ & Side Burner for about… Read more

4 months now and trust me it has had a good working over. I would use this BBQ weekly which is not hard because I love the functionality and ease of cleaning. I have had plenty of other portable BBQ's and most of them work OK but you end up with a cleaning nightmare or flare ups, especially as I like to use the grill when cooking any steaks. But this BBQ has eliminated the flare up with its unique fat trap system which is incorporated into the grill design. Shear brilliance?

This is the only BBQ I ever had to turn down the controls because the heat it was pumping out was too much.

I have not noticed any hot spot areas as the plates are a good quality cast iron and nice and thick which certainly helps distribute the heat evenly.

Even the side burner can now be used for stir fry's.....this is my first ever BBQ which has a decent side burner and gives off plenty of wok heating temperature.

Over xmas I slow roasted a 5.5 kg shoulder pork (which took 4 hours) and I must say I have never seen crackling as good as this before. The entire roast from top to bottom had beautiful crackling, needless to say it didn't last long between 9 people. I am even considering in retiring the Webber after this result.

Overall this is a great BBQ with a beautiful looking surround. It does what it is supposed to do and then more. Beef Eater is on a winner with this setup.

Good BBQ – I think all you people are forgetting this is a BBQ not a cook top in a kitchen. Firstly, it looks good and people are always impressed. Sure cleaning the grills is a bit difficult although what grill is not. The plate is the best have ever had it drains well into a drip collector. I don’t think it smokes any more than others, It starts well, The… Read more

lid is good, the numbers become a bit difficult to see after a while silver on silver. I think the food taste better cooking on stainless rather than cast iron, My wife tells me I am a hopeless cook although she likes my steaks cooked on this BBQ and kids eat their sausages.

Cleaning: I did pull all the components out and tried the washing in the sink and on the lawn its messy. Here is how I cleaned my BBQ back to almost new, I got my high pressure cleaner stuck it in the BBQ closed the lid so I don’t get grease and water all over me (50mm open) and let it rip, waved the pressure cleaner around. The cooking components do disassemble well so you can individually clean each part the same way in the BBQ. Had a little trouble starting due to the jets getting water, drained the parts of water got one jet stated, turned it on let all the others dry, For a guy it was easy and great fun using the high pressure cleaner. Remember clean out all the drip tray first pull them out and scoop the grease out by hand.

I love it overall 8/10 nothing is ever perfect.

Love it, great product – We recently were lucky enough to purchase this BBQ from the guys at Homeclearance.com.au, at a fabulous price and the service was also great. I have wanted this superior quality bbq for 5 years now, my last 2 bbqs were Beafeater, also a great product but the Electrolux is next level.  Show details

This is the best BBQ I have ever had – Unlike many others, I find this BBQ to be the best BBQ I have ever had ... and I have used a BBQ for 4 to 5 times a week for 30 years. Don't get me wrong, it is quirky as the cleaning is difficult and the temp gauge is vague (tells me it is hot as opposed to temp) but once you are familiar with it it is amazing. The heat disposition is very even… Read more

and the grill cooks a steak that is to die for. I would rate this a good 4 plus ..... a decent temp gauge would make it a 4.5.

Best bbq – Read reviews on this brand in mid 2015. Due to my procrastination they had released the latest model so when I went to buy it got a new model. Have a hood , big plate , side grills and love it. Easy to clean, gets really hot and ignition has a sensible battery. It's so easy to clean Luv it Stu

Very Dissapointed, Ignition System is hopeless – I am now on my second Electrolux BBQ. The ingnition failed on the first one after 6 months. Now, 12 months on, the ignition has also failed on this one. In addition, the silver paint on the handle… Read more

Terrible – Terrible. Very expensive and auto light won’t work. My previous bbq was $100 from Bunnings 9 years ago and it still works. I really wonder why I bothered with something that is apparently the best in the market. It’s certainly is one of the most expensive out there. Disgraceful Electrolux!  Show details

Originally excited - Sadly disappointed – We had the EQBH100AS for our outdoor kitchen... Our pride of place. The bbq overheats and smokes all the time. The stainless steel is black and can't be cleaned. The autoignitor no longer works. This happened only 3 or 4 years after it was installed. I looking for an alternative if anyone has any suggestions that I can replace it with.  Show details

Terrible purchase. Shame on Electrolux – This BBQ failed after 3 years. The ignition system broke and one knob broke off completely. We have to lift the plates to light it manually. The quote for repair is over $1000. A new unit costs over $2500. I say " shame on Electrolux" because they have produced a product that clearly has systemic failures but are unwilling to fix the problem.… Read more

In my opinion, they should offer free repair.

As a comparison, my Apple iPhone's battery failed out of warranty. It is a known issue with these phones. Apple swapped mine, no questions asked.

My question to everyone else who was unfortunate enough to buy this expensive lemon, what now? We have a concrete purpose built BBQ surrounds that will be hard to fit with another BBQ. I can't imagine ever buying an Electrolux again, unless the company somehow remedy this.

Too Hot to Handle - if it lights – BBQ was supplied with new apartment. Ignition has ongoing failures. Was fixed under warranty several times, after third time the battery exploded, have reported to Electrolux again and waiting for repair. Control knobs reach high temperatures that prevent them being touched with bare hands. I believe the BBQ has the potential to cause serious harm or injury. I avoid using it.  Show details

Disgraceful – Looks pretty. Heat is uneven, doesn't heat up sufficiently- mostly operating on full heat. Temperature gauge doesn't show the temperature, merely hot or cool. Great Looks, Poor Performance – I am an owner of an accommodation business and have a fair amount of experience with BBQ's. Our first (EQBH100AS) caught fire and was destroyed due to fat in the trays below the burners. I know that sounds like poor cleaning practices but this tray does not have a good mechanism to get rid of the fat and although it looks like there is provision… Read more

for it there is no slide in tray below to catch any fat that finds its way out of the BBQ so it just runs out onto my stone bench. This fat is also hard to get at and difficult to see because of the construction of the BBQ.

Our insurance company replaced the BBQ with like for like and now the ignition has failed on the new BBQ, now 3 years old and 1 year out of warranty. Very frustrating when you pay a premium for these great looking BBQ's. Oh and the reason why we went for the same BBQ twice is that ours is built into stone and it was the only one that fit. We thought it would last a bit longer than it did.

Regretable purchase. Roasting hood is a waste of money as the so called temperature guage says Cool, – Spend hundreds more on the Roasting hood, but discovered no real temp gauge, so never been able to cook a roast properly. Similar issues with cooking, hotplates never seem to stay hot enough to cook properly. Probably why the new model EQBH156AS has temp gauge and cast plates and 2 extra burners. Had Electrolux engineer out to replace ignition and… Read more

he checked burners. He said the flames were big enough. Not sure how scientific an approach this is. My last BBQ from barbeques galore approx $500-600 was more consistent with hood and had a temp gauge.

Really disappointed is an understatement. I spent thousands building an outdoor unit to take the BBQ 1025x502 cutout and I'm stuck with a BBQ that doesn't cook food properly. Engineer suggested using on rapid heat for cooking but this just burns things.

All I want is the unit to be replaced with one that works properly and have a proper temp gauge to actually use the Roast Hood. Its not too much to ask for a product thats under warranty and doesn't work properly. $

Still a poor performer – Having written a review previously on this product I thought it timely to give an update. I had the opportunity to look at the latest model on display and discovered that nearly all of the suggestions I made to improve this unit had been adopted. Such as increased fall angle on the plate and grill drain. Not sure how they current model is working but I am not surprised about the comments as I found nothing in the new model to stop fat leaking back under the unit.

Good luck with this BBQ, as always "Buyer Beware"

Don't care about cleaning it would cook – I bought this BBQ in 2012. And wish I had not. The cleaning of the BBQ is frustrating but wouldn't mind if it cooked the steak to perfection. You can let the grill heat up and then place… Read more

What a nightmare to clean the grills and hotplate !!! – We purchased this BBQ recently and the very first time I used it I knew it was a terrible mistake. Feel totally ripped off! – Sadly this Electrolux BBQ has been a huge disappointment. This Is A Lemon Not A BBQ – Had this bbq for a few years and only used it 4 times. Yes, cleaning it is that hard, it turns me off using it. Looks great, but have designers ever BBQ'd on it – I was sucked in by the looks of this BBQ and made a poor decision to buy. pain to clean. Grill section would work great if it was only ever liquid coming off your steak, but as soon as anything solid drops that drain is then blocked and requires cleaning. Heat through the hot plate is poor and always needs to be on high, then the hot plate warps (stainless plate to thin). Would be better off with a standard cast iron plate but apparently these are not available to suit this model. I would say the hot plate (possibly both hot plate and grill) is not suitable for it's intended purpose and should be replaced under warranty, I should push customer service for this. Don't make the same mistake I've made, stay away from this BBQ.
