Scammers!!! – Sent me an invoice for an outstanding overdue invoice. Paid it immediately as I don't want it affecting my credit rating. A few days later they send an email saying that the invoice was issued in error and not to pay it. Now they're refusing to repay the money! Scammers!!! Show details

ARMA scam – We were with Elysian for a year or so. Their system was to bill for $80 per month, this to soften the full quarterly bill, the remainder to be paid every quarter, minus the 3x $80. Some time last year, we were advised that their fees were going to be changed, became unattractive. Elysian actually recommended to look for another provider, so we did… Read more

just that. Started with another provider, all good. We thought that was the end of the matter, simple.

Then, about 6, 9 months later, we received a demand letter from something called ARMA, demanding $80. We never received an invoice before that demand, I kindly objected and asked for an invoice. The invoice was then finally provided by ARMA. It appeared to be the $80 first payment for the bill, to be paid 3 months later. Of course, that bill when due, was paid to the new provider. The meter is only read once every 3 months....

So, as I see it, ARMA is demanding a partial payment for a bill to be paid to the new provider. ARMA is now pursuing through emails and I ignore.

Has anyone had this issue? Has anyone paid the $80?

Was great while “normal” electricity prices lasted – I moved to Elysian in March 2022 and quit in June 2022, and I would consider returning if and when their rates (and the greater electricity market!) returns to “normal”. Sign up via their website was simple and transferring in was quick. Telephone customer service is fast and professional. I almost fell off my chair the first time I rang them as… Read more

my call was answered within 2 rings! Subsequent calls - for my final bill, followed by a request for a refund of pro-rata prepaid subscription when I received my final bill - were answered just as quickly. I requested a refund on Wed and the money was in my bank account 2 days later on Friday. Throughout, the customer service was warm and friendly, preserving the goodwill.

Elysian’s rates are horrendously high at the moment. But to be fair to them, they did give a very early warning (27 May) which allowed me the time to shop around again. On 10 June, they followed up with another email advising the new rates and the effective date of 20 June. This solidified my decision to transfer out.

I had discovered Elysian and their $80 a month prepaid subscription model for a fixed amount of day & night electricity after I used the EnergyMadeEasy website to look for a new supplier. My then supplier had changed my single rate supply to Time of Use (TOU) supply which would nearly double my yearly bill, then followed up with a rate increase and cut my solar Feed In Tariff which would increase my yearly bill by another 50%.

The government website showed Elysian would provide significant savings. My son then crunched my electricity meter numbers for me which confirmed the savings, so I moved.

Web signup was simple with my NMI number. Signed up on Mon 28 Feb, received Welcome Pack on Wed 2 Mar confirming my supply was switched on Tue 1 Mar. My old supplier’s retention team rang on Thur 3 Mar, but could not or would not offer any incentives to stay. Received my first Elysian invoice on Fri 4 Mar.

Elysian’s invoicing took a bit of figuring out, but I finally “got it”. You prepay the monthly subscription in advance, then you’re invoiced any “excess” power over your prepaid fixed allowances in arrears.

I also liked Elysian’s simple 2-tier rates - Sun rate from 7 am to 7 pm, and Night rate from 7 pm to 7 am which was a more comfortable fit for my day-to-day usage. The standard TOU rates - peak from 6 am to 10 am, then 3 pm to 1 am - just felt like a price gouge as that’s 14 peak hours out of a 24 hour day!

Unlike other reviewers, I wish Elysian well and hope they survive this electrical storm.

SCAM! Bait and switched prices within 2 months from $1600 to $4200 = 2.5x the initial cost !!! – Within 2 months of signing up, Elysian rates have increased from 14.2c to 51.38c per excess kWh, while the monthly quota reduced from 250 to only 200kWh! Monthly fee increased from $80 to $120!!! See attached photo. My estimated annual bill of 8000kWH has increased from approx $1600 to $4200 which is over 2.5x as much cost!!! Before signing up I… Read more

read a few reviews about crazy price increases which sounded so outrageous I did not really believe them or thought it would not happen to me. A few months later and I get a similar price hike!

This is clearly intentional BAIT & SWITCH to substantially increase prices to an unreasonable level, soon after switching to the provider. I know wholesale costs have increased but this seems deceptive and surprised if it were legal. When I get a chance I will ask check with the ACCC!

Absolutely obscene price hike – Apparently the plans changed some time ago (no notification) so instead of offering us the new "Power maximiser" plan at $145 for 200Kwh we were offered "The full house" at a whopping $630 for 200Kwh and then over 50c after that. This is $3.15 per Kwh instead of the usual 26c or so. How is this even legal? More than a 1000% increase? How is it… Read more

legal to not have any information on your website about what rates you are charging? NOTHING! No old plans, no new plans, nothing. Needless to say I have already started the switch to Lumo.

Look it's worth the hassle... even though it might take you a while to get it right! – Signed up with Elysian in September, wanted to be put on the Single Rate Power Maximiser Plan. Contract had me signed up for the Time of Use plan. Was really... really... hard to get someone on the phone to change it (4hr wait). But it was done and they did switch the offer before the 10 day cooling off, so come 11 days after my change request, I… Read more

was on their system. Then I received an odd invoice with $80 for the previous month (when I wasn't yet a customer). Called again, was explained that you need to pay the first month's subscription in advance and thats what this charge was. Paid it.

First bill came, no surprises and the price was correct (and way cheaper than AGL).

Second bill has come, same again, no issues.

It took some doing, and I hope they work out the kinks in their sign up flows/customer service, but im very happy we switched over. I would recommend it to family, but i'm nervous that I will end up being the point of contact to fix any and all issues they might have when they sign up. Once I see these customer service issues resolved, I would happily start referring everyone because it really is a great deal!

Biggest rip off company ever use – My monthly bills were going up due to price rises: fair enough we had all been notified about this. I was supposed to have moon usage included to a certain amount this has changed and I am been charged now and also my monthly bills were $100 and my bills jumped to $500 per month. I changed on 22 July 2022 and they billed me for 1 day $244 which I am still disputing. I am not paying for 1 day usage such an astronomical amount. Show details

The quiet non-acheiver – Switched to Elysian due to their better rates. Upon received notice of their enormous price hike I jumped ship to a better electricity retailer only to find Elysian we’re tardy in allowing my change and charged me excessively for my last period with them. Unscrupulous at best, downright dodgy at worst. Show details

the invoice. Elysian then refuse a new retailer i was to join by declining transfer. I waited for weeks rang the new one who tells me that my transfer wast consented to by Elysian. I contacted the ombudsman, I was surprised within two days I git a email reply: the ombudsman has reached Elysian to rectify errors (wilful or otherwise). Elysian sent me a settlement of last bill and Elysian allowed me to a new supplier. I am in touch with Elysian, I have looked and failed to get any document that details out Vic Energy Fact Sheets format offer details on any of the rates applied to my invoice. Elysian has been placed under administrator I saw in the news a few weeks ago. Some smaller companies have gone under. It is obvious the fate Elysian had, given the low customer satisfaction and surprising acts such as what I had. I have stronger inclination to think that both Sumo and Elysian change goal posts as you modify your energy consumption using smart applications to use more power at cheap rates and push peak usage low

Looking Forward to These Cowboys Disappearing from the Market – Like other posters, received an email notifying of 100% increase in rates from 20 June 2022. In fact new proposed KwH rate is a whopping 3.8 TIMES the current rate. Worst Energy supplier I have ever encountered – I signed up to the Power Maximiser plan in November 2021. Cutover was 25 January 22. The first monthly bill was $80.00 to 25/2/22 due on 16/2/22. Today I receivde an $80.00 bill for the period 9/5/22 to 10/5/22 due on 31/5/22. What one day!! The monthly periods should be to the 25th of each month. The meter may be read on a different date but their system should adjust for that. I rang to complain again and they are looking in to it. I am still awaiting a response. Also they changed the plan on 20/5/22 so I get nothing for Moon usage. As I have solar panels that is when the most energy is used.

I am cancelling my payment due on 31/5/22 & will be going to a new supplier.

month. Sorry, I said but I need the incorrect bill credited and a bill with the correct dates on it so I can pay. They have completely failed to do this! One of their support people told me that is was a system problem and they couldn't change dates on their invoices! What???? Who in their right mind uses a billing system that can't correctly specify what period the bill is for!!! Unbelievable.

I won't be paying anything until they present me with a correct bill. if they fail to do that, I will change supplier.

If its too good to be true it probably isn't – Elysian price hike. If you take your usage as 800kw they change you around $157 a month to start ($80 first 250kw + 550kw X 0.14c). After a few months they push up their charges costing around $258 a month ($80 first kw200 + 400kw X 0.27 + 200kw X 0.35) I think that's around a 64% increase after a few months on 800kw assuming my math is correct. Show details
